Description

“Modern, airy interpretation of No5… Silky-smooth harmony of notes that reveals delicate aspects of the fragrance of nowadays and future”—Chanel

As a limited edition presented on website Chanel.com, CHANEL NO 5 EAU PREMIERE arrives in a new flacon with an outer carton for which you can select the graphic design in 10 different versions. The new edition was introduced just before Summer 2015.

It features campaign “The One That I Want” which was launched for Chanel No5 edition together with an advertising movie with Baz Luhrmann and beautiful Gisele Bündchen. In the new Chanel movie Lo-Fang (also known as Matthew Hemerlein) participates with his voice, singing the acoustic version of the popular song “The One That I Want” from Grease.

Chanel No5 Eau Premiere is a younger and more modern version of timeless Chanel No5. Its scent is airier and the color of its liquid is lighter. The composition encompasses luminous, sunny and fluffy notes which refresh the floral heart resting on a fine, soft, creamy base. No5 Eau Premiere takes the floral notes of the No5 edition (jasmine from Grasse fields, owned by Chanel, rose absolute, ylang-ylang from Comoro islands, neroli) refreshed with aldehydes and accompanied with sandalwood, vanilla and vetiver. The perfumer is Jacques Polge. The first No5 Eau Premiere edition was presented in a 125 ml flacon, back in 2007.

I’m the weirdo that wears Chanel to go hiking and I must say I have warm fuzzy feelings toward this scent because I wore it during a beautiful hike in the Sequoias on a misty day where it was just me and my husband and nobody around for miles. We all know perfumes do well with body heat so I like to wear something subtle and nuanced when I’m going to be very active that day.. and this was a great choice that day.
All day I was surrounded in the lush mixture of aldehydes and vanilla.. so when I was huffing and puffing along I at least felt a little glamorous 😉 Eau Premiere never becomes “too much”, it is a polite scent but still very much *there* with a quietly assertive beauty. I find it to evoke vintage feelings of older classics but still has a modern gourmand appeal thanks to the baking vanilla note. Clean and fresh thanks to the aldehydes but with cupcakes baking in the background. It never becomes stuffy or too mature.
Anyway, I am wearing this now and recalling my first day wearing it on that hike and it makes me smile. Wearing a fragrance on a memorable, fun day is a good way to etch it forever into your heart.. this beautiful perfume will probably always be in my wardrobe 🙂

Just received this one today! Oh god it’s so beautiful! I own the original #5 but I love this one too for its different mood it gives me! My husband says it reminds him 19 poudre. I do find the powdery feel present it in the middle after the opening. I would say it is gorgeous and even though it is similar to the original I still happy to have both versions. I just feel really happy wearing eau premiere, I don’t know what it is, it’s just amazing! My bottle is after the reformulation.

Bright, sparkling, effervescent aldehydes open this up. It’s almost like a fizzy lemon cocktail. Dries down into a soapy, clean scent. This is not sexy – it’s clean.
At the end of its life it smells faintly like vanilla.

Brighter, sheerer, younger version of the classic Chanel No. 5. It’s got that No. 5 aura: abstract jasmine, rose and iris, but with added citrus and fizz. Eau Première is the scent of an heiress: pretty and rich with a light touch. Doesn’t last long on my skin; it lasts longer sprayed on my clothes. But Chanel does recommend spraying it liberally and I do! My summer perfume- very nice 🙂

Been testing this out all week and I love love love it! It smells clean, sweet and fresh and a little bit powdery. At first it is very aldehydic (is that the word?) and very strong, but after an hour and half it becomes this amazing warm yet soft beautiful sophisticated vanilla fragrance, it almost smells like you washed your sheets with some expensive luxurious vanilla smelling washing machine soap and then you put them in the drier and when you open the drier you get the mix of fresh hot laundry and yummy vanilla mixed with some light florals.

I got a sample of this on a whim over the weekend and I’m glad I did! Chanel No 5 (the original) is one of those perfumes I really *want* to say I love, but as of yet it hasn’t appealed to me. This version could be a great gateway for me into that genre.
One of the things I look for in a perfume is the way it makes me feel. And I feel so elegant and sophisticated and lady-like in this! At the same time, it’s also breezy, sparkly, fun, and modern . It walks the line between vintage and contemporary so well. It’s also a perfume that I don’t see myself “growing out of” after a year or so (the trouble with many scents today being a fleeting “like”).

It’s a new incarnation of Chanel No 5 and I love it the same or even more cause it fits with our times. Beautiful, happy, warm, ful of sun, “solar”. Like hot bright summer day when you look into the sun and then look away and you can see black blotches in your eyes.
It’s uncomplicated: lemon + vanilla + aldehydes (aldehydes = ballpen ink, newly renovated house, green citrus peel).
Chanel No 5 eau Premiere reminds me also fragrance of half unfolded daisy fleabane (sparkling lemon/lime/”sprite” + vanilla).

It makes me think of timeless elegance.
    Beautiful!

stunning spring & summer scent! I get a creamy sunscreen touch when I wear it on the beach, delightful. Nevertheless, in the office, combined with suits wear, it really matches great.. You feel like being in a cocktail after a successful meeting, wearing chanel nº 5 and drinking champagne! very classy, good performance, medium sillage, +8h longevity..It’s a 4×4!!

No5 Eau Premiere is a gateway perfume to the aldehydic genre. This is a beautiful mix of soft, bright, fizzy and powdery. Eau Premiere is Diet No5, about 60% the flavor but still highly pleasing. Imagine No5 minus most of the base notes with a waxy, fresh and bitter orange peel aldehyde note that almost reaches into Baghari territory.
The overall effect of stripping out the more intense parts of No5 is an easy to wear, comfy, half intensity aldehydic powder puff of a fragrance. Its citrusy and bright up front but powdery and soft at drydown. I can’t imagine an occasion where this isn’t appropriate to wear. This is a big love for me.

Very nice fragrance. Right in the middle between Chanel no 5 edp and Chanel no 5 l’eau. Not sure for what occasion / what time of year I would choose this one. Vanilla (+Ylang-Ylang) is more prominent in Eau Premiere.

    I simply love this scent.
I’m familiar with Number 5 EDP, and L’Eau (I have known the pure perfume version as well, but honestly can’ t say much about it, because it’s been a Very Long Time since I had the pleasure of using it…) and out of the three (Premiere, EDP and L’Eau) I absolutely find the Premiere version the best.
Like many have already said, it’s more wearable in the sense “office-friedly”, than the EDP. On the other hand, it has better longevity than L’Eau. Of course it is a perfume on it’s own, not a “diluted” version of it’s predecessors (and L’Eau is certainly different enough to hold it’s own place in the Chanel Number 5 family).
I find the initial burst of the scent to be uplifting and clean (due to neroli and aldehydes). I usualy reach for this when I want to feel professional, when I want to be taken seriously, and this is the mood I switch into, from the very first spray. The heart of the scent brings the ylang-ylang and vanilla to the fore and I find these have a calming effect on me, enabling me to focus. The flowers (at least on me) stay in the background. The woods appear in the drydown, so the scent has a proper base, which I take as a sign of quality.
Somehow this scent manages to be both highly personal and work-approriate, allowing both an individual pleasure and a non-intrusive, professional presence.
    Love.

Daytime/office/casual No 5! More wearable than the original although I love it too, and have a bottle of both versions.

To me this is the definition of a creamy vanilla, it is so good! I asked for a sample of this and L’eau at sephora a while ago. I sampled Eau premiere everyday before I decided it was definitely full bottle worthy. It is just so elegant and pretty and last all day on me. Now I don’t love the opening as it smells exactly like baby wipes and it was why I was considering L’eau over this, but man the dry down is amazing!
p.s. I tested the original No 5 and I just couldnt. It was way to strong and mature for my taste.

When I was young, my father returned from Paris and gifted me a bottle of Chanel No. 5 pure parfum. The dense, rich liquor that lived within those crystal walls was so potent, the bottle saw me safely into my 20’s. Now, I live in the Tropics of Australia and find Chanel No. 5 just too rich and heady for our climate. I had resigned myself to only wearing my favourite fragrance on rare occasions, when, to my delight I discovered Eau Premiere.
It’s Chanel No. 5 with renewed vivacity! It has the DNA of the original, while introducing a lightness that makes it infinitely more wearable. I adore this fragrance, it’s perfect.

This is a fantastic fragrance! Beautiful. It actually reminds me A LOT of my signature Esprit D’Oscar. Especially the vintage in the taller, thinner bottle. The new formulation is lovely also. I hadn’t fully made the connection of how similar they really are in the drydown until I was making a purchase of another fragrance at Chanel and a Chanel employee commented that she noticed I was wearing Eau Premeire and it smelled lovely on me. I wasn’t. I was wearing EDO. The opening is quite different but the dry down is obviously similar enough that a Chanel employee couldn’t differentiate.
Eau Premiere is a distant relative of No 5. It’s a rather youthful, creamy, lemony, vanilla/tonka with powdery florals (Again, very much in the same vein as Esprit D’Oscar) Unfortunately the lasting power was pretty disappointing. In approximately 20 minutes it was a skin scent and in two hours, gone altogether. I had heard from people here it was stronger than Chanel No 5 which was DEFINITELY NOT TRUE… at least not true for me. I do plan to test it a few more times this summer to see if a change in weather/climate improves its performance, but for now I’ll stick to my EDO when I want something of a similar style to this. And I suggest anyone here whose had trouble with Eau Premeires performance do the same.
Anyone who has struggled to love No 5 should give Eau Premiere a day in court. It’s really gorgeous! If it had better performance on me I’d happily make it my signature since despite their strikingly similar dry downs, I actually prefer the opening notes of this one. This would also be a good choice for someone who already loves No 5 but wants a modern & extraordinarily versatile take on it.

Just recently I was able to acquire the original slender bottle of Eau Premiere.
I also have the recent formulation shown here as well, in the normal square bottle.
I wanted to do a comparison between both of them!
Similarities include the floral accord and bright opening.
    Differences:
The original slender bottle tends to dry down with a more bitter and soapy quality that is really smooth. The opening has a fresh lemony quality to it.
The new version dries down with more vanilla, and is a bit sweeter. The opening has a lemon cake/batter creamy quality to it.
Overall, I’m liking the slender bottle just a little more, as I found the sweetness in the newer version a little too cloying. However, both smell fairly identical and it might not matter to the regular wearer.
As wearing on my skin goes:
I noticed with the original, it does start out softer than the current one, but over time, it intensifies, while the current one slowly fades away.
Also, the original formulation is giving me close resemblance of the dry down of the No. 5 Body Cream with the more pronounced sandalwood. I don’t recognize this with the newer version.

This is utterly beautiful and as a lover of the classic No. 5 EDP, this may be my second favourite iteration. I’d describe it as effervescent sweet champagne, lemon sorbet and ripened ylang petals with traces of vanilla and rose. Invigorating, feminine & elegant— Jacques never disappoints.

how much i like this fragrance. i have a bottle of the chanel 5 extrait, and like the premiere so much better.
i like it so much i have a bottle at work and at home. i teach high school and have been luring my students into trying the classics. if give a back story, talk about famous people like flappers, depression era, world war 2, 1950s, Audrey Hepburn, Marilyn Monroe, and Katharine Hepburn, or other famous people, and set the history and tone, they don’t scream “old lady!” and run away.
they like it! little 18 year olds! “miss, can i have a spray of your chanel number 5?” (i don’t tell ’em it’s a flanker.)
(aside, they also liked toujours moi, chantilly (“miss, it smells like an expensive leather purse!”), mon guerlain, love’s baby soft, and i am going to sneak in some TABU and shalimar.)

I have very fond memories of the original formulation of Chanel No.5 Eau Premiere. I wore it to death during my early twenties and enjoyed it most during the warmer months. I was sad to hear that the original formula and bottle had been discontinued, and had purposely put off trying the newer version in fear of being left disappointed.
Fortunately Chanel No.5 Eau Premiere hasn’t suffered from the Chanel brand’s reformulation crisis and remains very much the same, with just a few minor tweaks here and there.
As Casi noted in her review, Eau Premiere appears to have less sparkling aldehydes in the opening and as a result smells more dense than the original formulation. The new Chanel No. 5 Eau Premiere is still however fresher and lighter than the classic No. 5 Eau de Parfum, and therefore still appropriate for Summer and Spring wear.
Both No. 5 Eau Premiere and No.5 L’Eau go hand in hand with one another. They are so similar that it would be foolish to own both. When comparing the two however, I almost always lean towards Eau Premiere as the longevity is far superior on my skin.
For avid lovers of the original Eau Premiere, have no fear, this current formulation is 99% similar to the scent you may already own and love. I do wish however that they had kept the original packaging as I found the tall, rectangular bottle far more visually appealing.

Sadly, I have never tested the original Chanel No. 5. It has been on my wish list forever. I was so excited when a friend gave me a sample of Eau Premiere. Now I can finally try something similar to the original. I really like this fragrance. It is a beautiful and soft blend of clean, soapy aldehydes, rich and sweet ylang ylang, and warm and powdery vanilla. I still plan to try the original but I’d be very happy to own this version!

I received this as my wedding gift from my husband’s aunt. So lovely. Eau Premiere opens with bright, sparkling aldehydes, citrus and powdered ylang ylang. 10 – 15 minutes later the citrus disperses, a soft rose develops and the aldehydes and powder come forward. This softens pretty quickly (around 30-45 minutes) into mostly floral and powder with the once sparkling aldehydes now a shimmer in the background. It has a very floral/soapy feeling, very fresh and clean as if you just stepped out of the shower.
Sillage is moderate at around arms length and lasting power seems moderate at around 4-6 hours.
Overall, this is a beautiful fragrance. At times the aldehydes and powder can be a bit much, but it’s still lovely. It has a fresh out of the shower feeling…very floral soap and dressing powder and a little champagne.

i quite like it, but not sure if it is exactly “me”. being quite some time into fragrance i start easier to see, when i only like fragrance and can wear it, and when the fragrance i like is “me”. i have and like N5 l’eau, which is lovely, but a bit too citrusy/fresh to me. i was hoping that powder and aldehydes in this one would suit me a bit better. well, the are not subsitute fro each other, even that they are quite similar in smell and style. i may decide to keep both anyway. i like that this one is soft and subtle, at the same time with good longevity. it is a beautiful skin scent, suitable for cosy wearings at home, as well as profesional situations. my only complain, i perceive it as a bit too conventional/formal. i like my fragrances to have an element of non conformity/a shade of rebeliousness/ a sligt element of unexpected twist. i will see how often i wear it. maybe i will just keep it for strictly profesional situations.

Some spray from my sample of this got on my watchband and I could smell it day after day. It infected my brain…I had to keep smelling it…I had to get a bottle of it.
Phenomenal performance. Complex development, phenomenal longevity. A single spray under clothes lasts all day and into the night, peeping out every few minutes. Like all no. 5s, it is both sexy and clean. Never animalic or dark like some other versions, this Eau is filled with a kaleidoscope of florals on its way to a soft and satisfying vanilla, which will still be there when you wake up.
Seriously…I spend all this time and money combing through vintage and indie offerings what do I end up with? A flanker of Chanel no. 5…. I love it!
EDIT: I’m over it. I sold it. I prefer my 5 as EDT and my vanilla in my ice cream.

I soo want to wear Chanel No.5, sadly it does not define who I am and so I sadly accepted that I have to wait until it finds me…..until Chanel no.5 eau Premiere found me.
    Young and sophisticated Chanel style!
Madam Coco would highly approve of this! Creative and artistic formulation which still embodies the core Chanel no.5. but fresher and lighter.

  29. :

    3 out of 5

I will preface by saying that I have not found a version of Chanel No 5 that I can like. Unfortunately, that remains true with Eau Premiere. This is supposed to be “lighter” than the original No 5 and it definitely is; it’s not as heavy but there also feels like less of a nuance to it too. I just get a lot of white floral and powder that didn’t appeal to me at all. I had to scrub it off after only half and hour of wear.

  30. :

    3 out of 5

This is a beautiful and very wearable version of No. 5. It does resemble the original, but it is softer and more office friendly. My only issue with this version is that it disappears from my skin in just a few hours. If it were a bit cheaper, I’d buy it in no time; but considering the price, I’ll stick with the original.

  31. :

    3 out of 5

This version (2015) is definitely less crisp,& fizzy sweet than the tall 2011 bottle, it’s more buttery instead, and At first I was disappointed, I wanted this new version to be identical to the tall bottle.
However it’s growing on me lots And lots !
Don’t go by the first few minutes as it’s a little bit sharp and chemical , but don’t worry as in a few minutes her soft flowers bloom and the light vanilla grounds her beautifully the powder is soft and dreamy.
I think no 5 is wonderful in all the versions I have So far, the eau premiere versions are very pretty fragrances simply adorable, perfect in my case to layer with the original versions but you could wear it alone.
This newer version is slightly longer lasting than the 2011, though still a soft fragrance really , this one as others have said has a bit more dna of the original no 5 compared with the tall 2011 version.
I’d say 2011 and 2015 are slightly different, but not that much , so if you have one you may not need the other , oh heck what am I saying,
Lol , I want every version of no 5 ever made !! And I know You do too 🙂

  32. :

    3 out of 5

Well…firstly..I can say I really like this scent. I think what “bothered me” in the original Chanel # 5 was the civet note….This one does not have it…thus the “like” for me. I do miss the Iris from the original…sigh..sigh…
I find this very ylang-ylangy and neroli..may be too much ylang…???…This one is fore sure a tamed down version of the original…and I find it sweeter too. This als has great projection (spray sparingly) and sillage is good too. It will never be my “favorite”Chanel…but it is what it is. During the wearing I find the aldrhyde effect is less in this one than the original, which works for me.Also during the drydown the vetiver peeks out slightly with a “green” effect, which is nice. All in all a nice scent…probably too much ylang and neroli for me tho…and not enough rose tones…(???)….and missing the Iris too !!
EDIT: Have been wearing this now for 2 days in a row…..and..wow….I LOVE THIS !!! A new found….LOVE. This one requires patience and discovery on the skin…IMO.

I finally got this today in the mail! POW WOW AND HOLY COW!!!! I LOVE YOU CHANEL NO 5 EAU PREMIERE!!!
If only I could fill my tub with this lol
    I’m a big Chanel fragrance fan (minus a couple that I don’t care for)…
I love the aldehydes in Chanel fragrance; feel it makes for a big, long-lasting quality fragrance and this one is no different!
I’ve had a bottle of “original” No 5 almost most of my life as it’s my absolute fave perfume in the universe.
This one, no doubt about it, is close to the original but without the “heaviness” of it. It does go on with the No 5 smack, if you will, but then fades slightly (cause I can’t say this fades on me, it stays allll day long), to a soft powdery, scent. It such a feel good scent! An absolutely gorgeous alternative if you are on the fence with buying a Chanel No 5. If you think the original is just too strong, go for this one 🙂
I will so repurchase this fragrance again without a doubt! Quality fragrance indeed!

The nice, young and sparky relative of grandma Chanel no 5. Quite great, it almost made me purchase a bottle (have tried it on by my 2ml sample) until… Until I realised I loved it so much because it is exactly the Guerlain Eau de Shalimar. The citrus opening, the palette, the trace. Shalimar lasts longer though and it’s slightly more affordable.

Moringa body butter (The Body Shop) is wondrous when layered with Eau Premiere. It lends it a kinda film noir deep southern gothic vibe; reminiscent of Katherine Hepburn’s garden in Tennessee Williams ‘Suddenly Last Summer’.

    Classy and elegant.
I agree with most of the comments below, this scent is a very feminine and sophisticated one.
The sillage is quite delicate, but the longevity does not disappoint me. Well done, Chanel.

  38. :

    5 out of 5

This is the Hollywood remake of No. 5. It’s been polished and refined until what is left is fresh, elegant, younger but of course, thinner. This is a very clever composition because what is almost impossible, updating a classic, has been done successfully. It’s much more wearable and a tad more modern but still unquestionably that elegant, powdery, aldehydic Chanel legend though not as long lasting. It’s not at all heavy, and it’s sweet as a country summer breeze. I really enjoy this perfume, especially in the warm seasons.

  39. :

    3 out of 5

WOW…wish it lasted longer. Love it more than No.5
Well maybe I love it for spring and summer and No. 5 for fall and Winter
will look for pure parfum or extrait, I sprayed 6 times on me, I smelled lovely for 2 hours. Yummy in fact. Than it was gone, just like No.5
Seems CoCo last a lot longer. CoCo Noir would be a second for lasting to CoCo.

  40. :

I didn’t expect to like Chanel N.5 Eau Première so much. Initially, I got a sample at a counter and tried it out of curiosity. I thought that it would be as agressive as its classic counterpart. But, to my great surprise, the smell was quite different. It was deep yet airy, original but with an air of distant familiarity. It felt modern and recognizable at the same time, like meeting someone for the first time, but feeling like you already know each other – maybe from another life.
As soon as I sprayed it on, the fragrance melted into my skin, and the wonderful balance between the floral notes and the Vanilla/sandalwood notes did not – as I feared – change and get distorted at all, but rather got warmer and richer. I don’t know why Chanel N.5 Eau Première soothes me so much. Maybe because its smell is not overpowering or suffocating, and doesn’t obliterate the essence of who I am, but magically blends into my skin, becoming one with me. It makes the woman in me feel strong, protected, and wrapped in a cocoon of sensuality, luxury and, yes, eternity.

  41. :

    3 out of 5

Eau Premiere opens with a shimmery veil of effervescent aldehydes that is typical of so many Chanel perfumes. It then dries down to a classy, bright and clean floral bouquet that lays very soft on the skin and has nice sillage.
Regarding reformulation…..in comparing the two samples I have, one is the original from before 2015 and the other recent, I find that the original is slightly sweeter and powdery with a more pronounced iris at the heart and in the drydown. The newer version reminds me more of the original Chanel #5 with more sandalwood apparent in the drydown. They do smell very similar but are certainly different. I would compare their similarities to twins that are fraternal, not identical. They are both beautiful, but one of them (the latest version of Eau premiere) is a little more like mom.
If I had to choose between the formulations, I would have a hard time picking. Both are beautiful, classy, and typical Chanel fragrances through and through. You can’t really go wrong with either.

  42. :

    Pure class in a bottle!
Even my mom who has a very difficult taste in perfumes loves it…
It’s creamy, soapy and powdery all at the same time with a lovely citrusy note in the background.

So comforting, delicate and kind. I am in love for the moment and I am glad to have this one in a 100ml size. It’s like this most lushest, poshest, smooth baby powdery scent.

This smells as easy as the girl-next-door (whom wears fresh fruity-floral like everyone else) yet as timeless as her mom! It’s like a lighter version of N°5 with a touch of one of the lighter J’adores–smells nice whether you like classic scents or not; this should be even more popular than the original in this day and age!

  47. :

This newer version of No 5 is wonderful. Initially, when I tried it, I was on the fence about it. It seemed too baby lotion-like. However, the more I wear it, the more I enjoy it. (And the less I get baby lotion!) I especially appreciate the vanilla and sandlewood. They are just right! Nothing here is out of balance. It is light and fresh enough for work, but sophisticated enough to be satisfying. Additionally, I like that there is no musk, which I have a difficult time wearing.
    Definitely a keeper!

This was a surprise winner for me. I don’t really care for the original no 5 so I didn’t investigate this sooner. But wow, this is now one of my favourite perfumes. I love how this smells like a really expensive floral soap with vanillic undertones. Lovely floral from Chanel for every occasion.

Fresher version than the original no.5 i can detect vanilla notes when it sits closer to my skin and the aldehydes are toned down not in a bad way. i love this perfume! So light yet the elegance is still there. you can use it anytime of the day without worrying to bother people sorrounded by you.Longevity is fine. Gonna stock more for future uses.

I truly love this perfume….It is so delicate and clean smelling…It starts with a fizzy opening and dries down to a clean fresh scent…I layer it with Chanel No 5 body lotion and it has an incredible longevity…I highly recommend<3

I tried Eau Premiere at the store after going in to get No. 5 EDT or Coco EDP and being disappointed in the current formulations of both. Eau Premiere on the other hand? Swooooon! And to think I only tested it just because it was sitting there.
It is a luminous, shimmering blend of citrusy powder and vanilla, and the structure of No. 5 is recognizable. It smells like an expensive floral perfume that’s rubbed off onto a freshly bathed baby. So, is it sexy? Nope, and it’s all the better for it. It’s clean and classy, very tasteful smelling for a very wide range of ages. I’m excited to have it for summer. Projection is moderate and longevity is excellent.

WARNING: If you are a Chanelee, hurt anytime anyone judges your Chanel, don’t even bother reading my review/critique.
Drydown: some soft baby product in the best way possible, but baby lotion nonetheless.
It is now that I understand the need to advertise Chanel N 5 and its flankers so much, now that I felt ashamed for not knowing the odour of the classics. It’s a classic yes, but it’s not exempted from criticism for that reason. No naked Gisele will ever convince me as a woman that Eau Premiere is sexy or sensual. Neither is Nicole convincing me in anything elegant and ladylike in her pink feathery gawn and expensive sparkly earrings. No luxury for Eau Premiere. I will elaborate for both below.
Eau Premiere is advertised as a lighter, fresher, softer, more delicate, and suitable for every-day use fragrance than N 5. The claim is half-true, because Eau Premiere is way lighter, way fresher, and way softer than it is advertised and not just delicate, but FRAGILE, and certainly not for every day use. It does not project well.
Opening: waxy, softly sweet, sparkly, champagney. Now, I really liked the opening. If it would settle just like that it would be a unicorn between all the mainstream fragrances and new creations. But as it seems Chanel always have two things in mind:
    a) all in moderation and nothing standing out even a tiny tip in a perfume and
    b) creating safe scents. Nothing, not at least a tiny little thing over the top. Nope. Let’s stick to typical.
Softens into something soft and lemony, even though no citruces are included and the aldehydes are waxy. Can’t really tell the flowers but it’s definitely mostly ylang and for some reason my skin intensifies the neroli much more than vanilla and the rest. Wait for the rose too. And I really like the waxyness, I wish it would be more intense, it is very pleasant.
Now, the same story as in Coco Noir, L’eau, Coco Mademoiselle, Allure Sensuelle and chances are it applies to other Chanel perfumes, but I haven’t tested them, so I can’t speak for them yet. Basically, Chanel stripped the notes of that special odorous characteristic that they have and put them in Eau Premiere:
-Waxy aldehydes: they could be more waxy. Come on! You could have done better
-ylang : an okay ylang, it is fine, I can find a stronger and more sensual ylang in Ysatis Givenchy…
-no vanilla: for me, vanilla is a mih meh note in a perfume, I am indifferent towards it, so I don’t give a damn that it doesn’t develop on my skin. But they who came for vanilla forget about the vanilla. Even on the paper strip I did not detect any medium-intensity vanilla notes; because don’t wait any major vanilla boom in here, everything is moderate and refined to the point of non-existense
-I liked the neroli, but still, I can have a harder and more pronounced neroli from Infusion De Fleur D’Oranger Prada or anything from Neroli Portofino line Tom Ford. Yes, I know what Chanelees are going to scream: “they are not classics!!!” or another claim they have for any other perfume on the planet except Chanel “the Chanel blends are the best blends, the rest of the perfumes just come and go”. While I do not oppose to their statements, I can name a whole bunch of other perfumes that “done it better” than Chanel, and thus won me over.
-jasmine, what jasmine? Is this how Grasse jasmine smells like? very faint, jasmine non jasmine. Don’t even bother asking for indolics and stuff like that from Chanel, we are clean here, copy that?
-a fine rose, subtle, inoffensive, there and not there. Same applies for vetiver
-sandalwood: Chanel you are unforgiven for the use of sandalwood you did. I can take the mih meh florals in the majority of the pe
