Out of my small collection of fragrances, CH Men is my wife’s favorite one! Personally, I haven’t decided whether I like it or not. It smells nice and unique, but the performance is very weak. Even after I load up with 10-12 sprays, it just doesn’t perform. Most likely I won’t be buying another bottle of CH Men….

I own both old and new formulations, and I’ve to say that yes, there is a difference. On my nose, the old formulation was a masterpiece; On the other hand, the new bottle does smell cheap and generic. Indeed, it may just be me, but, the smell remind me of tea.
BTW, I’ve recently mixed this fragrance with Gentleman Only Intense by Givenchy, and I’ve to say that is good combo. It seems like this Two fragrances have what the other needs.

After my interest being sparked from reading reviews, I got this in a blind trade. My bottle is the current formulation.
I’m a fan and even though I rarely wear it, it makes for a nice change up.
Like most of the votes, I get mainly a subtle leather blend at the opening, which is the precursor to a more evident table sugar blend on the dry down.
For me, even though it fades to more of a skin scent within about 6 hours or so, it’s perfect for a nice office scent or a casual evening out, assuming it’s not your goal to overwhelm anyone with enough sugar to prompt diabetes.
Overall, I’d rank this about a 7 on a 10 scale. Above average and pleasant but nothing that is going to go into regular rotation for me.

I got the original red ribbon version. Apparently a lot of people prefer this as it has been reformulated, but whatever, I won’t get into that.
This stuff is interesting.
To me, this is a leather fragrance that tries to please in the hotter days. Having that said, this has a weird complex. This is leathery, but playful. It is absolutely not like a typical leathery frag, nor is it like any summer frag.
Maybe unique is the word I am looking for?
Anyways, this stuff is sweet. Every whiff you catch starts with sweetness. Obviously this is due to the sugar. The leather is right behind it. The sugar gives the leather a sweet and happy vibe.
Immediately following the leather is an odd, sweet, green tone. The grassy notes play a huge role in this one. The grass is almost a green-violet-like substance.
Overall, if you can imagine a sweet leather, backed up by a grassy-violet note, then you have this.
Hard right? This stuff isn’t like anything I have ever smelled before.
The first time I wore it, 3 days ago, I was catching whiffs for a long time. This stuff lasts…..
It was on my shirt for over 24 hours.
Good stuff. Still not a love, but interesting, different, unique, strong and fun.

After reading all the reviews i ordered a 5ml sample of the current formulation. While it’s pleasant enough i can’t help but feel a bit indifferent to the scent. I t seems very weak and is pretty much just a skin scent on me. I think you guys saying about the original formulation are probably spot on with this one. If this was amped up I’d like it a lot.

After stop using this fragrance for a long time, because I have been wearing the novelties I have recently bought, today I have wore CH Men again, and, oh boy! what a good experience I have had today. Long lasting: and I could smelt it on different moments along my day. Like it wanted me to know that it was there with me in every activity. This is a marvelous fragrance. The sweetness and the leather are blended in such a nice way. This has been one of my favorites for years.

This is a review, mostly for sharing unconditional love for this formula. This fragrance, to my nose, has everything you want for a date or even as an office scent.
It’s a versatile fragrance. It could be playful, sensual, bold, more serious. Depends on the environment and your attitude, CH Men seems to go with you.
There’s a killer mix of sugarcane, leather and spices. And what makes it truly unique is the sugarcane. It doesnt smell like typically sweet stuff that get nauseous after a while. I dont know if you ever cut a piece of sugarcane for cooking, but CH Men is pretty close to the real deal.
Also, the leather, mix with suede, is soft and gentle. This is probably why it gets tagged as a date scent.
However, the spices gives CH Men the final punch of the opening. It’s simply too inviting to pass.
It’s mass appealing, versatile, unique, and you could wear this all year long. Just give it a break when it’s 100 degrees outside of if it’s dead cold winter.
It’s a potential signature scent. Im endless drawned to it. It’s probably my signature scent, I realize now…

To let you guys know, I have a gold cap bottle and I will do my review based off of that. This fragrance is very interesting. It has some facets that I really enjoy and some I do not. My absolute favorite part of this fragrance is the opening. That grassy sweet opening is so unique and is too die for. It smells like a piece of suede smothered in sugar and dragged through grass and violet.
With that being said, the mid is not the best. It is a very sweet leathery fragrance that doesn’t really excite me. I wish that grass note lasted longer. It is really fantastic.
But, the base is where it shines again. That smooth Vanilla, Spice and Woods is really really nice. I love the Saffron note it in.
I really love this fragrance. It is very unique for what it is. I can’t wait to pull this bad boy out in cooler weather. If you are thinking about getting this. I would say go for it. Very pleasing, yes “mass appealing” but, also very unique so it will please the more experienced nose. It last quiet a long time on my skin as well. 6-8 hours with decent projection for the first hour or 2.

This fragrance is great. Have a 2015 bottle so I cannot speak to the newest versions or the original batches. But the fragrance is excellent. Quite unique actually. It is a fresh, sweet, grassy opening which is very pleasant. It dries down to a sugary leather type scent while maintaining some of the “grass” vibe. The girls that have smelled this on me go WILD. It is a very masculine and sexy fragrance. Love it. Glad I got a bottle when I did! Performance is okay but nothing insane. I get about 6-7 hours longevity with about an hour and a half of moderate projection. If you are looking to get this based on reviews about “monster projection,” don’t. I wear it because I love the scent, which should be reason enough to buy a fragrance. Plus my girlfriend is really the only one who I want smelling me that close lol. If the scent alone interests you, buy it you won’t regret it.

Lasts for a few hours, projection is not as powerful as other types of cologne. Good for spring, fall daytime dressed more fashionable. Great to wear on a date. Can wear night time in clubs.

At the opening I get newly cutted off grass or raw fresh corn by a sweet vibe… jasmine gets cleaner after 3/5 minuets but grassy scent gets a bit muddy or some wet woody type of scent that pushes Jasmine back after 10 minuets . In here still grassy vibes are by same power as beginning…. it wants go to invictus aqua but the grassy vibes doesn’t let. Longevity, silage and projection is poor. It’s maybe good for near connections which won’t take long. Easily could be unisex . It’s so safe and clean… I sniffed a lot a lot better and complex fragrances, actually I don’t understand what’s the hype reason …. peace ✌️

However, I sprayed it on, ended up sleeping, and then smelling my arm and I could still detect it about 14 hours later.

@Scentster I have both the red ribbon version (batch 42091 – 2014) and gold cap version (batch C1791 – 2016/17) in front of me. The newer version has 98-99% the same smell and has better projection and longevity than red ribbon version on my skin. Go figure.
There was the intermediate version (2014-2015??) with no ribbon and silver cap, and that one is probably a bad one, I didn’t test it.

Guys believe me, Both of Vintage CH men and newer Formulation Are exactly same in performance. Both last max 6 hours. Newer CH men has a little bit sweeter opening than vintage, Vintage has more grassy and fresher opening than new formulation with golden cap. Just a slight differnce between them.
I have both of them and i’m telling you don’t waste your money and time looking for vintage CH men on ebay or whatever.
Buy current formulation and enjoy this Amazing fragrance.

Nice scent but longevity and sillage is a joke (new formulation) I just received my tester bottle and sprayed my arm twice. After twenty minutes it becomes a skin scent and barely smell anything unless I put my nose directly on my arm. Smh. I sprayed myself another two times on the same arm to double check. Verified dud performance.
Should’ve listened to all the reviews about poor performance. Save your money people. Not worth buying the new reformulation. It’s a nice scent that you’ll only be able to smell… If you fell asleep with your nose to your arm.

I owned the vintage without realizing what it was, and i really didn’t like it. I actually got it for free from a friend who hated it. I own 2 bottles: the red ribbon one (batch code 42091) and the next reformulation with a silver cap and no ribbon (51581). To be honest, both perform equally poor on my skin and become a skin scent really quickly. The scent differs very slightly between both. I feel like the green note is more dominant on the red ribbon version, the newer version has like an equal amount of that grass freshness and sugar note. But I can’t really say that I like one over another.
I tend to reach for this fragrance during summer time. And when around Christmas time I absolutely accidentally stumbled into a bottle of the older formulation among the newer ones on a shelf in a store I thought I was lucky that day and bought it without hesitation. But now comparing both I see that there’s no substantial difference in smell and performance. Myth busted (at least for me).

We are confused and are confusing the rest of the community as well. Fragrantica should follow the method used on the DPH and it’s flankers,no confusion there,you just go for the formulation you want! No stress.
Having both the new and the old bottles, they are clearly different. Some say that the reformulation that came just before the new bottle was released,is not different from the new one… Very confusing.
I own and love both and mine are two different fragrances, truth be told.

Smells amazing unfortunately it is very, very weak and is a skin scent almost instantly after the reformulation. Smells of a sugary, warm, vanilla leather throughout. Would buy again if it wasn’t such a poor performer, alternatively I suppose you could put on at least 10+ sprays and reapply every hour with several sprays if you want anyone to smell it further than a foot away.

This juice is a compliment MONSTER! The 1st time I wore this to work I got a lot of fantastic compliments. The projection of CH Men is decent for the first 3 to 4 hours at about an arms length before it comes close to the skin but you’ll still have a good sent bubble around you and people who come within that bubble will still be able to smell the fragrance. I get 8 to 10 hours with this juice where people can smell it and then about 2 to 3 hours of it just being a skin sent. Definitely collection worthy.

Just a heads-up for those of you concerned about reformulation. I own two different bottles… one with the red ribbon, silver cap, leather wrapped to the sides. And another with no red ribbon, gold cap, leather wrapped all the way, with the CH logo at the bottom right-hand corner. The latter is listed as being manufactured a year BEFORE my red ribbon bottle. Both well before any reformulation took place. Be sure to check your batch codes. Dont just assume based on the packaging.

Very feminine. Reminds me of Channel for women, or some perfume, my ex wore something that smelled so much like this. It’s a bit girly in my opinion, but there is something that also reminds me of those magazine cologne and perfume advertisements from the late nineties where you fold out the paper and sniff it. Anyone knows how many design/bottle variations this one have had. I bought one and the bottle seems to be the new design (no red ribbon) but it has a silver cap. Also the serial says 92711 which calls for 28 Sep 2009. Looking at google images I can see three different designs, 1) the no ribbon all leather bottle and silver cap and slightly different box design, 2) Ribboned one-sided leather bottle and 3) no ribbon all leather bottle with gold cap.

Slight differences between old and new formulas!
I don’t understand why people talked about reformulation issues. I compared old (2013) and the new (2016) bottles side by side and i guarantee that, difference between two juices is very little. Opening of the old formula is slightly vibrant than new one. However, after 10 minutes, it is imposible to detect any difference. Besides, performance of the new formula is better on my skin.
CH men is one of the most complimented fragrances in my collection over 40 bottles. Sillage and longevity (4-5 hours) are not beast but does the job. Best suits for close encounters, date scenarios and indoors.
Opening is great. Grassy, green smell supported with sugar syrup. Cold and fresh cherry juice comes to my mind, when i spray this on. Leather comes to party in dry down. Great balance between playfulness and masculinity.
CH men is very versatile. Could be worn anytime except high summer heat. If the compliment factor is your main goal, don’t look further for the solution. I think this is towards to younger crowd, thus blind buy is safe for -30 years old.
Overall: 8/10 from me, 10/10 from ladies

And it was a great price, the batch number is 40521 which was manufactured 21 feb 2014 and it smells exactly how I remember it to be. Stoked!

Scentester I really appreciate your experience but I will tell you; I have the new version and I could say the difference between is almost nothing they’re almost identical plus I put my review detailing my own real experience where I moisturize my skin and I was wearing a kind of product called fragance lock, where the porpouse is extend your scent until the max.
In other words, I got a lot of compliments at this day but involving some issues from this specifically perfume about sillage, projection, and logenvity I got 10 hour on my skin, to it become skin cent needed such as 6 to 8 hour projection 4 hours and people that were closer always were asking wow! What perfume are you wearing? And the sillage what happened was I was walking moving and the girl sad I personally could not see but she sad every time when come your smell stay on the air is so divine.
Well, this is a real experience, needless anything else right.

My experience, I took a shower and then when I went out I moisturized my skin with an unscented body lotion and then I applied Vaseline in the back of my ears and my whole neck and I worn Ch men just make sure I did it in my pulse points chest abs lotion and little Vaseline, after theses procedures I was wearing already the Ch men and then I worn a product called fragance lock in all parts that I sprayed the Ch men and it was 11.40 am.
Now guess what? It lasted as sillage 6 hour people were making compliment sure 6 hours sillage and projection but no stop yet, I got 11 hours on my skin and I could easily feel the scent in my body, beast! 9pm I could easily feel the scent on my chest, and neck and when people were closer that I could smell me.
Now my question is: why people don’t try different methods? I know this scent don last long but I put it in the max longevity that I could I was chocked too because it didn’t last too much and projection plus sillage the same but I saw a huge different when I moisturize and when I worn this product callled fragance lock it put Ch men in another level I was glad because this perfume is ladies killer and all day I received compliment and compliments.
I just put this review because I want others know about this trick and then you can put your favorite scent in the max from logenvity plus sillage that it’s awesome!

What a fragrance, it’s a masterpiece. A gorgeous blend of leather, vanilla and syrup, that I can only imagine comes from the sugar note listed. It’s sits on a base of amber, nutmeg and the faintest if sandlewood. Should be ultra sweet and cloying right? Far from it. Yes it is a sweet fragrance but far from cloying. The leather, suede and sandlewood help balance this out just right. I love it.
I hear the new packaging has a new formulation to go with it, not sure how true that is. It does however make me treasure this red ribbon bottle though.

Absolute wonderful and very very unique scent! There is no other sugar+leather+vanilla perfume. Before the test, I thought it will be cloying, overwhelming and too sweet for my taste, but it’s not! Very well balanced from the top to the end. The top is a little bit special with the grass note, but not outsanding. Few minutes later, when the middle notes come out, the scent begin to show itself… The nutmeg, violet, woody saffron note are wonderul together…Many vanilla based perfume have the same problem: the vanilla note oppresses every other notes, but in this case, this isn’t true. The base notes are wonderful too, beside the leather and the two sweet notes, I can sniff some suede, cashmere and amber. Wonderful, manly, unique, I love it.
– Spring/autumn/winter, day/night scent. Not too sweet, so this is very versatile
– sillage is better then average, longevity (as most of the the vanilia base scent) is very good, I got maybe 8-9 hours

I had wanted to try this for a while. It has a nice sweetness with bursts of green grass and leather. The longevity is long and the drydown is heavenly. The mood of it feels similar to Chergui, although the notes aren’t the same at all.
This does have that “men’s designer fragrance” smell. It’s not loud of overpowering, but it is present and it’s going to keep this from becoming a scent I would wear frequently.

First time I smelled it, it smelled like surgery vegetables and I didn’t like it so much. After testing it I like it a lot more and think it smells very good. Now I think it smells like grass and if I smell it on my clothes it reminds me of laying in the grass in summer. It has a green vibe to it. Other than that its very sweet in a good way. I don’t get any leather. It is linear and smooth. Nothing that is harsh. Performance is good. Smells like a “fragrance”. I think its best for spring. Bottle have gold cap.

Heard the extraordinary reviews and blind bought this. Really liked it (8.5/10)! I did get the brand new formulation and I can agree with most people that the scent doesn’t last too long. It lingers but at very close proximity (helpful maybe cuddling?) hence why I would recommend getting a atomizer for this if you’re planning to wear it for the entire day.
The smell in my opinion is something I can wear inFall and Spring. Do I prefer this over the Prive? They do have their differences and I think I can pull off a Prive more confidently over the winter than I can with this. That’s just me.
I would say, unless you’re one of those people that walks and leaves a streak of perfume scent for people to smell, this is a good buy, the lady in your life will appreciate it.

Is my fall siganture scent. It’s perfection. I prefer it over the prive version. The grassy sugar cane vibe is unbeatable.
Also I don’t agree with the previous reviewer. Before blind buying CH men the only refernce I had for this fragrance was that it smelled similiar to Trussardi – My Land. I really loved Trussardi My Land, but that one always lasted like 30 minutes on my skin and then it was completely gone. I almost didn’t buy CH Men because of the worse reformulations.
I’m so glad I still blind bought it. It does smell very similar to My Land, but with less heavy leather and with an unique sugar cane note. At first I was kind of disappointed in CH Men and almost regretted buying it over My Land, but comparing it with My Land again I realized how much better and smoother CH Men is and how much longer it lasts even though it got reformulated.
Reformulated CH Men is still better than the clones. And apparently the reformulation wasn’t even that different. If you’ve got the chance then compare them beforehand. I didn’t have the chance, and I’m really really happy with the best blind buy I ever made.
Best fragrance for fall created, maybe ever. I love this so much that I made it to my mission to get at least one bottle before the reformulation happened. So difficult to find around here.

I used to love this fragrance.
If you pick the red ribbon version you’r in business with 8 hours longevity and 3 hours of above average projection (produced before 2014).
If you pick the reformulation – brown bottle, no ribbon – you’r in trouble because this amazing fragrance will last 33 1/2 seconds on your skin and 42 seconds on your clothes (produced after 2015).
That’s the worst reformulation I have ever seen.
You better buy one of two clones:
1) Trussardi My Land
– 40% in price,+40% longevity and the leather note is a bit stronger.
2) Estiara E-Homme
– 85% in price, same scent, same notes, +60% longevity.
I have both clones and the original. Believe me! I do prefer the clones, and for the price (12 Euros) the Estiara fragrance is a real winner, although a bit difficult to find.

Perfume maravilhoso, minha assinatura sem dúvida. Ah, a projeção é fraca e a fixação, mas quem liga? Levo na mala e re-aplico a cada 4 horas e ta tranquilo!

Just got the new bottle and im getting compliments left and right. I dont notice any difference.
It might even be better.
I know a lot of you have seen jeremy fragrance saying the new “formulation” is terrible, but honestly its just that he has become insanely popular since his first CH men review and have you seen the amounts of fragrance he has aqcuired now?
He has tested so much that this fragrance is nothing but his past by now.
I wish they would make a EDP of this tho.

Sugary leather, sweet but tough!!.. That’s my interpretation of CHM , very nice sexy scent for a “designer”.. I also own CHM Prive’ which I layer with this to give it a little more kick/bang with, silage & longevity.. It works, and adds that whiskey nuance to the scent!! I recommend for cold weather use, and if you wear with an actual leather jacket or coat it would make one hell of a combo!! An evening leather aphrod
