This smells like your clothes drying in the sun on a lovely day and blowing in a slight breeze, the scent that blows towards you is the loveliest washing powder mixed with the fresh scent of bergamot and raspberry leaves, maybe from done trees nearby. Actually I think the washing powder my mother in law uses smells very similar. If I try I can pick out the notes listed, but the overall effect is just that, clean in a floral breezy way with a hint of citrus. I don’t want to undermine this creation, which certainly smells classy and elegant, but I wonder if someone buys this because they love certain notes might be a tad disappointed that the effect is just a clean washing smell…? Apparently this contains ‘essence of wool..’ Ok yep I get whiffs of that here too, I guess hence the name. I must say this is a bit pretty, if not totally mind blowing or original. If I had money to burn I’d definitely buy a bottle, but not sure it’s a must have. Not for now anyway, unless I found a cheap bottle.

This fragrance is not working on my skin! The opening was the best part, citric and refreshing, but the fragrance quickly dried down to a sharp, bitter, soapy floral. The oakmoss felt out of place to me, as well.
I would imagine someone who can wear citrus aromatics and sharp florals would have a better experience with this fragrance!

Something about Acqua di Biella CASHMERE TWILL is not working at all for me. Initially it seemed that it was going to be a smooth floral woody musk, but that impression was abruptly refuted by a harsh veer toward the more and more common category which I refer to as “industrial clean”.
I am a big fan of soap notes in perfume, but this twenty-first-century cleaning product demeanor is definitely not for me. It’s somewhat sharp and green but without being natural smelling. I detect none of the alleged notes of this perfume, many of which I love in other perfumes, including anise, cardamom, iris and magnolia.
It is possible that I overapplied this powerful potion with big sillage and industrial-strength longevity, and that may be the reason why I suffered a headache during the wear. But it does not matter, because I do not like this composition, so I have no interest in finding out whether I could avoid the headache through a lighter application. Not for me.

The initial wave reminds me of walking into a department store… which… actually smells wonderful, but that was not what I was expecting.
Regardless, I loved its first impression; it’s the raspberry leaves that adds a little twist to this smell of luxurious wool.
Alas, its freshness did not last long. After a few minutes I kept sniffing my wrist and told myself “I had this perfume before.” And about 30 minutes later, it hit me—Beautiful Sheer by Estee Lauder, which is odd because they have completely different notes. That’s how this turns out on my skin.
It’s definitely a finely crafted perfume, I was just a little disappointed that I ultimately made this smell like something I’ve already owned. I wish I too got a longer wool-like luxurious vibe that others have described. 🙁
Just a thought…. since this is labeled as unisex, I think this would actually smell fabulous on a man.

This fragrance reminds me of the scent of damp, freshly washed, floral scented linen. It’s the exact scent of my sheets as they blow in the breeze after I’ve hung them up to dry. I’m not sure whether it’s a smell I prefer around me or on me.
I may have applied more than I should have, mistaking this fragrance for something soft and ethereal prior to spraying. How wrong I was. This fragrance opens quite strongly and without mercy.
In the official scent pyramid, one of the main notes is wool essence. Well that certainly explains the material accord I keep smelling. I can’t seem to get past that strong, lemony floral blend that resembles the scent of soap and laundry detergent. I don’t mean that in a bad way, in fact the unique quality that is presented here is admirable.
It has quite a crisp and green berry accord, most likely from the raspberry leaves, which is another ingredient not listed here. The overall feel of this fragrance is soapy, clean and refreshing. Perhaps even a little bit cuddly.
Honestly, it’s not my cup of tea. Like other reviewers here, I’ve tried to love it but failed. I prefer smoother florals, yet I do find Cashmere Twill’s crispness invigorating at times. It is nothing like Donna Karan’s Cashmere Mist, and for that, I’m glad. It’s original, and in a very strange sense of the word, I like it.

I’m here with you Chris. I expected so much more and I had a thought that I might love it, anice is one of my favourite notes, but somehow I din’t get it from this scent.
It started weird and lemony, followed by extremely shy and almost-there bits of anice and mint. My wrists actually smell like I’ve washed them with some kind of soap an hour ago. Really shy, almost not-there.
A no from me 🙁

Oh dear. I’m sorry. I’m not feeling the love for Cashmere Twill. (I WANT to love it: kastehelmi makes it sound so intriguing!)
My honest-to-goodness best description that I can think of is: on me it smells like mint leaves that have been steeped in boiling water, then wrung out in soiled underwear (or, as my Dutch in-laws would say: something “vies”). I’m in the middle of reading Turin & Sanchez’ Perfume Guide. They describe sweaty, fecal, foul odours as being “indolic”. Apparently even the loveliest of florals can also be described this way.
The way I feel about Cashmere Twill might be the same way some people feel about Eden. I encourage members to try it, and write their review on this page. I’m curious to see what others think of the scent.
