Guerlain launches Carmen Le Bolshoi, the fourth fragrance of Le Bolshoi collection, exclusive for the Russian market, dedicated to the Bolshoi Theatre in Moscow and named after famous operas and ballets. The first edition of the collection, Le Bolshoi, was presented in 2011 as a re-edition of Les Secrets de Sophie fragrance. La Traviata was launched in 2012, followed by Black Swan in 2014.
Carmen Le Bolshoi is celebratory edition which marks the 240 years of Bolshoi Theater and 140 years of George Bizet’s opera Carmen. The composition, signed by Thierry Wasser, begins with a mix of citruses and pink pepper. The heart of the perfume contains intense notes of jasmine, laid on the base of cedar and musk.
It is available in bottles of 60 ml, limited edition.
Carmen Le Bolshoi was launched in 2015.

Carmen was issued by Guerlain as a limited edition of 700 flacons for a double anniversary of the Bolshoi Theater, but that was at the peak of the russian economic crisis, and this may be the reason some of the flacons came back to the Paris boutiques where I could test it several times before buying it lately.
It opens with a spicy (red pepper induced) and somewhat musky jasmine which then undergoes sort of a purification development to turn to a clean and majestic jasmine (most of the Bolshoi frags from Guerlain are dominated by this extraordinary jasmine of outstanding quality), not creamy, not aldehydic, a simply fantastic jasmine only a few houses can elaborate.
This jasmine alone makes the bottle worth its price tag (approx 300€), but the flacon is very nice, too. One more masterpiece by Thierry Wasser
