Description

“The perfume of autumn rises from the ground. Your mittened hands wrap around a Cardamom Coffee, a fragrance that speaks of more than just warming spices and a rich aroma. It’s a comforting hand on yours, a gift from someone who had nothing left to give. A reminder of human generosity. You inhale deeply. Sweet and spicy cardamom oil lifts you out of your world, into someone else’s. Rose oil, a delicate floral reminder of the summer. Olive leaf absolute, an extension of peace. At it’s heart lies oudh oil, rich, woody and spicy. Conkers and acorns cloak the earth, rusty leaves crunch under foot, gently fading into winter.”

Cardamom Coffee was launched in 2016.

Just bought the solid of this and I’m Home (Fragrantica–please add to database!) They are amazing layered together. The coffee is of course the main note here, but the cardamom brings a sophisticated element to the fragrance. It is warm and inviting just like Lush touts on their website.

Delicious, addictive, and sweet gourmand perfume from Lush. Sampled this the other day in the Lush store and couldn’t stop smelling my arm after I applied two sprays of this. Projection was VERY VERY good on it. It’s not a very practical fragrance (can’t imagine wearing this in the summer) but great for lounging around the house. This scent would also be a solid fragrance during the cold winter at Holiday events seeing it’s sticky sweet aroma would fit such occasion. Not sure if this can be found discounted but it’s worth at least a sample for anyone that loves gourmands. Great coffee note with a HUGE blast of cardamom. I’m really thinking of getting bottle. Lovely stuff.
    7/10

A blast of coffee, and a blast of cardamom. That’s it. And it’s awesome.

    More poetry than perfume–
A delightful opening of realistic yet evanescent cardamom quickly gives way to a mild-mannered coffee aroma which fades over the hours without significant development. It’s a smell I like but not one I want to smell like.

Thoroughly disappointed with this. My go to Coffee scent is currently Black Opium EDP and I was hoping to find a better alternative with less of the sweetness. Sampling this in store was a big mistake. Monstrous lasting power–it stayed even after I’ve washed my wrist thrice!! This is not the fine, high quality black coffee I was looking forward to sampling. This is stale coffee or moldy ground coffee beans used thrice–the ones you set aside to use as fertilizer. Lasting power is there but it’s not necessarily a good thing if you don’t like the scent. Money saved, as this is one of, if not the most expensive scent from the Gorilla line.

I’m always interested in Lush perfumes, being a fan in particular of Breath of God and The Smell of Weather Turning, but this one was totally horrifying on me. I was hoping for something evocative of Turkish coffee, but unfortunately got a strong and persistent smell of nausea itself. A shame. It has dried down to a quite pleasant cocoa smell, but I can’t get over the initial throat catching discordant aroma.

Far too strong and bitter for me. I was expecting something gourmand but I got leathery bitterness. Hated it on me

If you like the smell of Lush’s coffee body scrub, this is the perfume for you. Personally, I think it smells like day old coffee grounds overwhelmed by cardamom. Maybe it would smell better on a man.

A very nice gourmand coffee opening. It quickly changes to just cardamom; coffee undetectable. And cardamom always reminds me of breakfast sausages because it’s the same seasoning they use to flavor them. So because of that I can’t wear this. But Lush is on the right track with these new interesting offerings. I’d love a Lavender or cinnamon fragrance. Unfortunately, none of their perfumes have ever smelled as good as their body care products.

I’ve tested this on a paper strip in a Lush store recently. I get a coffee note (obviously) paired with a chocolate note. But what surpises me is that it didn’t end up being a total mocha like scent at all, because often when coffee is paired with vanilla, or chocolate, or anything sweet will end up very mocha like or something like a cold drink that you would usually get from Starbucks, but instead the chocolate note in this one smells true to it’s texture and pure “chocolate bar” state. It smells exactly like the chocolate bar itself rather than a drink. So perhaps I would call this a coffee flavoured chocolate bar (but the coffee flavouring is purely authentic, in fact it even have some crushed coffee bean bits in it). Although, the coffee is not bitter at all, but I kind of expected the coffee note to be bitter, pure & espresso like, contrasting with the chocolate bar note. I haven’t smelled nor tasted cardamom yet so I’m not sure whether I do detect it or not. It’s not something I would buy since I don’t think I want to smell like dessert. But it’s really good though. I’ll give this an 8½. I would like this even better if it has more pronounced “Spice” note in it.
I better test this on my skin next time

To me this is a very warm, ‘brown’ scent. At first I smelt very little coffee, just the overwhelming spicy scent of the cardamom – it made me feel like a Christmas biscuit (in a good way). Then after a while I began to detect an aromatic, roasted smokiness – the coffee coming through – along with a woodiness and a gentle sweetness, a sort of smoked vanilla. It smelt like a slice of a good chocolate and coffee cake, eaten on a cold day. This is very unlike any perfume I’ve smelt before – it’s definitely not fresh or light; instead its rich and warming, fairly unisex, and deeply autumnal (although I bought it in Spring). It’s the sort of thing you’d wear while wrapped in a big woolly jumper reading an old book. After about 7 hours it’s mostly faded, although i can still smell a trace of that rich sweetness if I put my nose to my wrist.

This one doesn’t have much coffee to me. On my skin it smells like watery rose, lots of cardamom, and a dark chocolate brownie. All the notes smell very natural. They have rough edges, but they’re simple and delicious. It’s a more personal scent as it stays close to the skin, but the longevity is pretty good. I get about 8 hours on my skin. This is a winner for me! I love gourmands, and it’s nice to find one that’s not cloying in the heat.

My God!!! After 30 minutes it smells quite exactly like Chergui by Lutens. Incredible but true! Try it!
The notes are a bit cheaper but it smells good by the way. The longevity could be better…

It’s a difficult scent to like, but it grows on you. It opened up a whole new world of cardamom fragrance to me. I sprayed it on a winter coat I have, and the smell lasted for days. Very wintry. It might scare you at first, but it ages well. Very dusky, wintry scent. It’s definitely not for everyone, but I believe in the aromatherapeutic properties of cardamom, and the oud is a nice touch.

Tested this a couple of days ago instore and loved the coffee blast (even though I’m not a real coffee drinker) combined with cardamom. A simple yet delicious comfort fragrance. I was tempted to buy it but glad I didn’t because on drydown it turned into burnt coffee, at least on my skin. I love smoky smells in general, love the smell of burnt toffee and sugar, but this was bitter grinds, acrid and not pleasant. I was startled at how much it changed and that made the decision easy. I guess it just didn’t combine well with my skin.

Smells like Arabian coffee ( Gahwah )

Much sweeter than I expected. The coffee note reminds me more of coffee-flavoured candies (or a coffee in which someone put a lot of sugar and milk) than bitter black coffee. I believe the cardamom and rose together produce this sweet aroma, almost overpowering the coffe. Nice, cosy scent, albeit, as usual with Lush fragrances, the edges are rather rough. Longevity and sillage are good.

Cardamom Coffee smells like a a spicy Terry’s Chocolate Orange in its initial blast.. the sweetness dies away quickly and gives way to earthy toasted coffee scent.
Smells great on others but sadly, smells too ‘burnt’ on my skin. I recommend testing this over blind buying.

Ordered Cardamom Coffee blind it sounded really exciting and delicious, I was not disappointed. It starts with a blast of fresh black coffee and cardamom, then the coffee takes a back seat. What you are left with is a spicy Cardamom scent that lingers beautifully. I would highly recommend you sample this fragrance it is unique it reminds me of Indian chai tea the mix of sweet milk Cardamom tea and sugar all combining to make a delicious scent. I love it.

I tried that one in the solid form. Very nice scent. The coffee and the spices dominate the composition and smells a bit like a Starbucks. It’s well blended and surprisingly harmonious for a Lush perfume!
