I love this so much. I can’t stop sniffing my arm, when I have sprayed it.
At the moment it’s the other of two perfumes that are in my shelf.
I have over 240 different scents in my collection and this, and Diorissimo Pure Parfum are my favorites of all (that says a lot). Even if I love so many…( I can’t put more in the favorite-shelf because I can’t make up my mind).
Today I figured out that I can layer it with Chloe edp, which I also have. They are beautiful together.
I have this in eau de toilette-version and Pure Parfum-version. Both are absolutely divine.

I found a vintage bottle at a flea market. It’s an EdT but holy shit, it is potent and long lasting. Smells like a modest sweet lady, but has the stamina of a bull. I wish all perfumes worked this hard.
This smells almost identical to Penhaligon’s Jubilee Bouquet. Powdery green soap scent.
The accord meter on the upper right suggests Capricci is heavily woody but it doesn’t feel woody to me at all. Capricci is soft and harmless. It’s mostly powdery and floral on me.

I found a bottle from the 1960s. It is the EDT with fluorocarbon gas that was banned in the 1970s. It doesn’t hurt the fragrance at all. It adds an aldehyde kick to the opening. Capricci is a lost classic that deserves some attention, so I gave it some.
This is truly a fairy rose garden that whispers romance. It was created by Francis Fabron, the nose of L’air de Temps. They are both perfect for summer and last the entire day. L’air de Temps focuses on carnation, Capricci is rose. Not the sweet, sugary offerings of today, yet real garden flowers the will attract bees if you are in the garden on a hot afternoon.
The composition is so delicate and well crafted that it is hard to pick it apart the notes. I get iris and oakmoss among the roses. If there is tuberose here its so well blended, like Chanel #22.
It is the perfume of royals. Particularly the fairy queen and her court. Imagine a midsummer nights dream…

Capricci is a light fresh floral woody fragrance, typical Nina Ricci style. Beautifull summer fragrance, lovely work from Francis Fabron.

I had it many years ago, I don’t remember how it was smelling, I just remember that I loved it very much. If I see it around now, I will buy it again, just for the sake of having it.

Does anyone know if Capricci has been re-released? There seem to be quite a few on ebay with a pink plastic stopper. I have just been lucky enough to find a vintage mini with the box in a coffre of original Magie de Lancome, Shocking by Schiaparelli, Fath’s Love, Cabochard Gres, Jolie Madame Balmain and Bandit Piguet. I think I may have hit the jack pot!

Capricci is a sort of countryside rose.
    A countryside rose for dames.
A real classy perfume for a Windsor.
A sort of Aromatics Elixir purified and perfect for an etoile of the dance.
Many roses that open clear and fresh and then dry out in a game of small woods and aromatic herbs warmed by the sun.
Real perfection in balance. Pretty soapy.
Romantic nostalgic but in a quite happy way.
    SO FRENCH SO CHIC.
I can’t believe in such ignorance about Nina Ricci.
That is not an italian brand and it has never been.
    She was french.
Only the surname is italian but she was italian like di Caprio or Madonna are.
The brand was born in Paris in the 30s when she was about in her 50es.

I so wish I could find this again. It brings men to their knees! Sigh!

Just received this one in a set of 4 (with L’Air du Temps, Farouche and Fleur de Fleurs), sent as a present from a pal in Australia for my birthday, and what a lovely gift! This Ricci is one that I had never tried, and of coure it is a bit hard to get these days, so I hadn’t really thought about it over the years – I was delighted with it! Just a little reminiscent of Diorissimo (yum+) in the drydown, very feminine and lovely. Had no idea it has been discontinued (I worked in a hospital for years and of course we were forbidden to wear fragrance of any kind, so I had to put my love of perfume on hold for a few years), very disappointed that this one is no longer and also very glad for the lovely present that included it! A wonderful womanly scent. I would recommend anyone try this one out if you get the chance, it is truly lovely.

Along with Cabochard, L’air du Temps, Antilope and Joy, Capricci was one of five pure perfumes in a coffret that I received one Christmas. It’s as rare as hen’s teeth now, and extremely expensive if you can find it. Its beautiful fragrance has haunted me ever since.
If I could find an EDP at a realistic price, I’d snap it up in a heartbeat. I bet though, it wouldn’t be how I remember it – our memories tend to magnify and distort things and we’re so often disappointed when years later, we have the real product in our hands. I’ll just remember it fondly.
Edit: I found a partly used EDP for $89 on eBay and it’s every bit as beautiful as I remember!! I’m so happy I could burst.

A very soft, sunny scent, great for daytime and office wear, with a nice herbal heart that gives it a little whiff of herbs de provence. Projection and sillage are not great, but that is not a flaw, rather I believe this is by design. Good for a job interview scenario–or going to court 🙂 this is a fragrance that is impossible to find offensive. At the same time, if you lean in close enough to really smell this scent, it is undeniably sexy and sensual. A feminine floral with a unisex citrus herb component. I think of this one as The Practical Romantic.

I discovered this around 1970 and it just might be my all-time favorite. It’s so well blended that I really can’t detect its notes. I just smell Capricci. Perfection.

Capricci is an extremely sunny fragrance with a tart, almost lemony beginning and an herbal-floral kaleidoscope middle. The drydown seems to produce a bottomed-out effect, though, at least in the edt, which gives the scent a tepid, watery finish. Lovely, but not especially lingering.

I know this perfume thanks to my mom. I still remember its tender scent and always will. If I find it, I’ll definitely buy it. It is one of the very few exceptions I would make on Italian perfumes, as I usually prefer French.
