Description
The new collection by the Italian house of L’Erbolario is inspired by graceful and gentle camellias embodied in the fragrance which will convey the feeling of perfection and beauty. Fans of flowers who study their symbolism would say that camellia depicts permanent and romantic love and devotion of lovers. L’erbolario adds into their fragrant oasis the collection dedicated to women with the scent of love and supported with warmth and the endurance of gentle feelings and most beautiful thoughts.
The collection Camelia includes perfume and perfumed body care products along with scented candles and diffusers (room fragrances). It was presented at the end of September and aimed at women who do not hide their emotions. The elegant composition offers fragrance camellias on a pedestal, subtly warmed with elemi resins, warm, balmy and tobacco-based shades of tonka embraced by hot amber. The fragrance is available as 50 and 100 ml Perfume as a limited edition.
Camelia was launched in 2014.

This fragrance is not only similar, but identical with La Belle et l’Ocelot by Salvador Dali and has traces of Coco Chanel DNA. I Am surprised to see lots of other not-similar “similarities” in votes, yet it is what it is.
I love last two, but expected this Camelia to smell totally different, yet it is on 95% – l’Ocelot. There is no point to buy, if you own any of three mentioned.
There is no elemi here or anything innovative, – mellow vanillic citrus with benzoin and subtle rose. It is really nice, but again, – when you already own two extremely similar fragrances till point of confusion which is which – not very exciting blind buy for me.

Elegant and classy. I think is quite complex fragrance for the price. Is more mature than expected…more for a woman than for a girl.
I feel elemi amber and something powdery actually do not know camelia smell in nature. I like it.

Angelica 000 is quite correct that some species camellias do have fragrance. Camellia kissi has a lemony scent and there is also Camellia Lutchuensis. It is not surprising that they are being crossed with other camellias to create cultivars with both gorgeous flowers and scent.
I have to say I am very tempted to try this.

There are actually many scented Camellias, I grow 3 different types. Sorry for commenting without trying the perfume, but you may be missing out if you don’t plant Camellias because you want fragrance.

Fragrance Review For Camelia L’Erbolario
Top Notes: Rose Elemi Resin Bitter Orange
Middle Notes: Camellia Tonka Geranium
Base Notes: Amber Vanilla Cedar wood Benzoin
This is a gorgeous aromatic floral woodsy fragrance. I find it is the closest thing to a perfume and not aroma therapy fragrance for your home type of smell like the other Erbolarios. This is supposed to be recreation of a camellia flower. Camellias have no smell (poor things) so it’s up to perfumers and noses in labs to give it a chemical fantasy smell. And it smells like rose. This is a rose perfume. The pairing with geranium and the fruit note of orange also give it a rose smell. This is a well rounded rose scent. I would say it’s a combination of rose and orange. Strangely, it smells a bit like The New Miss Dior. There’s a vanilla too very sweet powdery vanilla but it also has a creamy rich amber, hot and golden, almost like myrrh and that’s the benzoin acting up. This is a very well made floral incense type of perfume. I love the bottle and have enjoyed so many of the Erbolarios. You gotta try them.

Camellias were flowers I grew up with in my mother’s garden in South Carolina. You never forget a camellia because IT DOESN’T HAVE A SMELL! Most of them are white but some rare camellias are pink. They closely resemble roses but have zero scents. They look so beautiful and it’s a pity they don’t have a fragrance. In perfume, what you get with a camellia note is a fantasy chemically produced rose scent. This is the only way to smell camellias, is through perfume. So I bought this after I used up L’Erbolario’s Tiare fragrance. Camellia is a romantic Valentines Day type of fragrance for a romantic ambiance. Just like roses for ambiance this fragrance comes with room spray and scented candles. The notes consist of citrus, rose, geranium, resins, woods, amber, vanilla and benzoin. Ultimately this is more of a rose fragrance because like I said camellia’s scent in perfume is like a rose. Geranium also smells like rose in perfume and it’s on here so you get a big rosy scent. Good thing I love roses. Soft yet detectable, sweet, feminine, soothing, gentle, perfect for after a shower and or to go out when you’re in a sun dress in spring and summer. I sprayed this at my new home in Palm Beach Gardens and everyone says it smells so good like Ive been growing roses INSIDE my house. Beautiful. If you love floral scents, try this one.

I totally agree with framorena: Camelia and Coco noir have the same ambery and incensey base! I usually don’t like fragrances like these, I prefer gourmands and powdery ones, but Camelia is soooooo cozy, refined, mature and complex! It makes me feel relaxed and confident. I was given the bubble bath, the hand cream and the body cream and they are absolutely amazing!!!

EN: I know it would seem blasfemy, but it is very similar to Coco Noir drywdown; test and then let me know if you think I’m wrong. Infact, Dolcelisir is also like Ambre Narguille, Meharees like Musc Ravageur and Corteccia like Cuiron by Lang. Do not surprise than, don’ t be skeptical; there are differences, but there are much more similarities, and, if you’ll think there are not with the fragrance in it, surely bath and body products and home fragrances are valid and cheap solutions.then ambery notes come…

very nice and complex…i was expecting only a linear camelia note but it isn’t…very feminine and i’d say a very different from other erbolario scents…definitely a must have

It’s a beautiful, graceful and refined scent, which can remind of some traditional and mature fragrance (like Chanel n.5) and, for that, it could not please everyone. It’s quite persistant but not heavy, classical but not oppressive at all. The bottle, the flower, the box are so alluring… It is certainly a perfume I want.
