On paper, the listed notes look ideal for yellow floral lovers. I was sold already!
Plus, upon reading positive reviews and learning about the noses behind (Michel Almairac and Sidonie Lancesseur), I couldn’t wait to try this one out.
Thanks Fragranticians xxx
Now that I have it, I can confirm I’m impressed and in love with Cafe Gold!
It is heavy on ylang, with an unapologetic ambery dominant in the opening, mellowed down by litchi.
This is the very first time I like a litchi rendition in a frag. It is not syrupy and cloying. On the contrary, it smells sweet in an elegant way, like the fresh fruit.
Bergamot gives an impression only. You can’t isolate it, yet you can feel the haze.
Which is a great discovery, since I didn’t know before such a brilliant citrus could just whisper!
Frangipani exacts the way I adore it: slight, humid bitterness with banana leaves undertone.
Magnolia peeps in on the dry down and with litchi, it’s a marriage in heavens.
Tonka and woods’ (I don’t really distinguish vanilla) creaminess also pairs so well with the solar flowers.
I join the previous comments, this is tropical-floral sweet, exempt from man-made sugar, not gourmand at all.
Definitively my yellow flowers frag of choice for summer!

Very different perfume, very sweet but floral sweet from the heavily tropical and sweet ylang ylang and frangipani with some citrusy effect provided by the magnolia.Overall it has in my skin a boozy peachy smell, although there is no peach note. On me longevity is 7 to 9 hours with heavy sillage for 2/3 hours. Bought it blind because Michel Almairac is one of the noses and indeed it has Almairac’s signature, a kind of intense quality that is apparent in Joop Homme, Casmir and also on Cafe Gold.Although very sweet its sweetness is different from todays’s in that it is floral and not sugar or vanilla/praline/caramel-based, and somehow many people can only like/love sweet perfumes if they are gourmand (which is very narrow-minded and nosed).

Cafe Gold Label has taken me by surprise, for one, it’s very budget friendly. The florals, ylang ylang and frangipani, are lush, and I love the combination. I experience several hours of close to body longevity. I daresay, it is an escape to a tropical garden.

A gorgeous, creamy, musky fragrance. Lots of ylang-ylang and frangipani accented by woody and nutty notes.
The magnolia is quite prominent in here and very true to the real thing. All the florals I detect in Gold Label are of a somewhat animalic variety and it makes for a very heady, humid and rich fragrance.
For lovers of Samsara and similar.

This is a very unique fragrance from the first spray. I think it is the ylang ylang that comes through and settles down to a soft finish. I have been trying the french perfumes and have not been disappointed! Nice fall and winter fragrance.

Very nice perfume, strong smell and very powdery. with a touch frangipani and ylang ylang. that make it different and proyect a long lasting. 6-8 hours cafe have always something special.

It is such a hot perfumes and incense. Dense, strong, those that cause a strong impact. The notes are woody, velvety and refer to oriental perfumes (attars). The note is the most prominent ylang ylang, but there is also a major highlight for the cashmere wood and vanilla. Although I do not like the genre, I recognize that is a great perfume and even think I would buy, so pleasant smell.

I have tried it. I am not good at describing notes. I know there is vanilla. I tested it and I could not forget about it.I bought it, it is cheap but it does not smell cheap. I really like it and crave it some days.I dont know any other perfume that smells like its top notes. I may repurchase it. I have too many perfumes to try on my list, but i may keep craving it. I just really like this one.
