It’s not a cacao! it does have hints of cacao truly but not pure cacao as i thought it’s gonna be mostly gourmand.
It’s like a spicy boozy leather in an orchid color and prints of tuberose and some cacao powder sprinkled on top of it for the final touch of taste! just like that as i detect cardamom, rum, tuberose, sandalwood, leather, buts of musk, and cacao powder.
It’s fair and i believe i figured out why there is “cacao” in it’s name cause it’s not the usual cacao as everybody thought it is AND the cacao powder is sprinkled as it is sniffed everywhere in bits rather than the concentrated dominant usual cacao. Nice.
Edit (17th July 2018) The more i apply it the more i get a mild cardamom, green fresh cuts, dew, and tuberose green leaves! It’s addictive yet amusing. Never strong, and never weak, whiffs of fresh early morning white floral leaves you will detect when you apply it on. Addiction.

Give it the chance to show you its kaleidoscopic ability to migrate from spices to woods, leather, flowers.
Beautiful creation full of nuances and pleasure, this version is classy and refined and pairs wonderfully if layered with the same sandalwood-centered.
Higly recommended, still didn’t meet a Perris Extrait that is not worth its cost.

I didn’t compare the normal version to the Extrait because I simply don’t think it’s worth the price to upgrade. The scent is very nice, but simple, and didn’t exactly deliver the star of the show, which is cacao; it’s definitely detectable, but in a supporting role compared to the spices and all the other dry facets.
