for the love of God I wish BBW would bring the fragrance perfume back (I don’t care about the lotions or body sprays or whatever -but this exact bottle fragrance. I had it and loved it. This was my ULTIMATE cozy comfort fragrance.)

Brown Sugar and Fig is such a lovely fragrance, and i’m glad Bath and Body works brought it back. The beautiful blend of brown sugar, vanilla, coconut, and fig really make it super delectable and fun to wear. It starts out pretty green, which I think the fig leaf and maple attributes to. This scent never gets to be super thick and syrupy, more like a roasty toasty sugar/fig/coconut vibe. This fragrance is sweet, but is not cloyingly so. I highly recommend this fragrance to the person who loves to smell cuddely, sweet, and alluring.

I received the lotion and body wash several years ago as a gift. I Was a little off put at first and I remember thinking that I would never use it. Finally I started with the lotion and I was stunned by the richness of the scent and how long that the scent lasted. I fell in love with Brown Sugar and Fig soon after. I used it sparingly and after a trip to Bath and Body I bought two bottles each of the lotion and body wash. They didn’t have any of the body mist at that time. Again I used it sparingly until I was frantic that the scent would be discontinued and bought two of everything. This is a piece of heaven. This is rich, sweet and the fig is luxurious. Well worth trying.

I was almost put off by the BBW sugar base that’s present in a lot of their mists, however one whiff of the fig and it’s all forgiven. I’m just loco over figs. It’s not a favorite but good enough for lazy days bumming in the house and don’t wanna use the pricier fig perfumes.

I love love love this fragrance! This has to be my absolute favorite from bath and body works! I typically don’t like sweet scents, but the I love brown sugar and fig. I wear this scent throughout the year but more in the fall.

Opening with a bright vanillic, fig flesh (nutty), and creamy accords, Brown Sugar & Fig has a very nostalgic 90s feel. I’m most sure my aunt wore this back in the day. With that said, Brown Sugar & Fig doesn’t smell dated.
This throwback scent has a luscious hair conditioner scent to it. In fact, it smells like the “women’s” counterpart to Calvin Klein’s Eternity Now for Men.
After the opening, the Brown Sugar & Figs loses the overt vanilla and nuttiness with sting of greenness. It becomes creamy caramel with dustings of coconut powder.
This isn’t very unisex or neutral on its own, so I like use Demeter’s Fig Leaf. This combo of Brown Sugar & Fig + Fig Leaf becomes rather intriguing with the creamy gourmand profile along with the piercing, astringent greenness of Fig Leaf.
A very kind, fun, warm scent that doesn’t make me question why it has been reissued by Bath & Body Works. 🙂

I so wanted to love this fragrance, but there was a “green” note in the lotion and the body mist that was just overpowering, even on the drydown. I couldn’t enjoy the lovely brown sugar because of that “green” smell. Had to take it back 🙁

Nice warm sweet fragrance that lasts forever on my skin.
I used the spray only on the back of my hand and after sleeping it was still there the next morning. Nice as my skin usually eats frangrance and turns everything weird but not this.
It’s not too too sweet, it’s not candy sweet, more a vanilla and musk sweet.
If that’s your thing give it a try.

For lovers of Ralph Hot, I think this is as close as we’re ever gonna get.
However! For a body spray, staying power and sillage are as good as that of an EDT on my skin (I do lean towards the oily side, but if your skin is drier the lotions are pretty easy to get your hands on for layering). I don’t know if I’d consider it a floral “fruity” gourmand, as I don’t get many fruits from it except coconut and fig, but it is indeed a gourmand. There’s some spice that gives it depth and sexiness. Much like Ralph Hot it settles close to the skin.
If you’re unfamiliar with Ralph Hot, the best way I could sum this up is slightly spicy, warm and creamy. It’s got an almost edible quality, but not sugar-sweet, nor tart or citrusy. Even the coconut is mild and milky. It’s a standalone scent in my opinion and beats any other mainstream, popular scent by a long shot. Very well balanced, even somewhat exotic.

This was my first perfume. My best friend was a Moonlit Path kinda gal, and I was a Brown Sugar & Fig. I always received compliments on this when I wore it, and it performed beautifully in the Florida humidity. At the time it reminded me of cream, honey, and overripe figs. I still have about 1/8 of the EDT. I recently sprayed it for the first time in about 7 years. I live in a different climate now (the dry heat of inner California) but I’m catching some of the same notes I loved. Now it smells less woody and sweet; I get watery food notes like cucumber and watermelon. I will continue to use this when I want to remember those youthful college days when BBW was all I could afford.

I agree with another reviewer. I didn’t expect to like this, but I was surprised! Sweet figs and warm scent. When first smelling this it gives me a swoosh to the head as if I am alone in the room. Later it turns sweet fruity scent. Very lovely!

I didn’t expect to like this. The name is so simple, and I usually try to avoid anything with “sugar” in the title. But I decided to give it a try. I fell in love with the body cream first, and then the perfume. I like how understated this musky sweet fragrance is. It’s not overwhelming at all; it’s very warm and cozy. You have to come closer to get the full effect, so it’s very attractive. They better not take this away again.

Ugh…I just dont know…. I bought this online blindly. The reviews sounded promising especially since I love warm foodie scents… I put this on and I think I smell like an old lady 🙁 I’m trying hard to love it. I just dont know!!

I like this Bath & Body works fragrance, but I usually only wear it in the cooler months and usually only when I am wearing brown. I don’t know why I associate this with brown, maybe the name, and I do not wear brown or this very often, so my mist will last forever. I have had it for a few years, and I guess it is much sweeter than I normally wear. I find it is fairly long lasting on my scent eating skin. I sprayed it 4 hours ago, and I still get whiffs of it. Very nice inexpensive fragrance, especially if you like the fig note. Much better than most of their other offerings, it is sweet, but not as much as most of BBW. Black Amethyst and White Citrus are nice too.

this scent is amazing. i got the body lotion years ago at christmas from my boyfriend’s stepmom and it was love at first sniff!
thank goodness they still have the mist online! i have so many perfumes that i rarely buy backups of, but i absolutely had to of this one.
it smells even more amazing that it sounds. so worth a blind buy if the name intrigues you. 😉

Mmmmm this perfume is sooooo yummy. It is a bit sugary/gourmand sweet, but more of a fresh and feminine type sweetness. This does remind me of Black Amethyst without the woody/smoky undertone. It’s not quite as floral as Black Amethyst either, btw BA is my favorite. It’s kind of like a more tame, non-spicy Black Amethyst? I love this fragrance though. It’s one of those that I think all women would like. Something about it is very comforting and nostalgic, it’s super yummy and cozy. It’s fruity sweet with a caramel/brown sugar scent to it. Delicious and inoffensive.

  17. :

This is one of my favorite scents, and I really wish it was still available in the EDT. The fine fragrance mist is still available online, so that will have to suffice.
This is really an intoxicating, dreamy, sexy scent. It’s very grown up, especially for Bath and Body Works, but without being harsh or very floral. A unique kind of gourmand that isn’t cloying or leaving you straight-up smelling like a cookie.
I pick up the passion fruit right away, along with sweet fig, caramel, and vanilla. There is an ever-present coconut and dry green note in the background that gives this a very nice, fresh, earthy quality. I don’t detect much floral, but I can tell it’s there, balancing the foody scents. This is crisp, yet warm, and fresh, yet deep and rich.
Beautiful scent that I think a lot of people could enjoy. I like wearing this in the fall and winter, but think it would work in any season.

Oh God, I just got my edt and it is SOOOO different from the scent of the body lotion! Seriously, they are completely different. I love both of them, though. Is it just me or did anybody else notice this discrepancy?

  19. :

    4 out of 5

I am in love with this one and it surprised me. I didn’t think I would love this as much as I do. It’s a floral fruity warm scent. I think the reason I adore this so much is because the fig in this is so strong. It’s just so warm and I love warm scents.
Top notes are passionfruit, fig, white florals, peaches, and bergamot. The fig is so prominent in here and lingers all day. The middle of this is vanilla orchids, jasmine, freesia, lily-of-the-valley, and coconut. I smell all of these beautiful scents and the orchid really stays with me. Base notes are vanilla, amber, musk, caramel, fig leaf, and maple. After it sits on my skin for a few hours it becomes this gorgeous maple/fig/caramel/vanilla concoction with musk in the background and fig as the main scent. It’s just so nice.

I asked the saleslady which among their fragrances have a fresh and clean scent suitable for day wear, then she introduced BBW Brown Sugar and Fig.
At first sniff from the bottle, I found it quite disgusting. Another customer also reacted the same and commented that it smells like a “dust transformed into a body spray”. I just smiled and asked the saleslady to put a single spritz on my arm, then I continue roaming around the store having a hope on this one. Several perfumes reacted differently with my body chemistry… so basically I don’t judge them alone on the initial spray or a sniff from the bottle.
After about 5 mins,.. i detected a sweet, woody, yet clean scent on my arm and can’t believe that this is it!! ..Smells SO GORGEOUS!! It also has a good longevity because that single spritz lasted for abt 3-4 hrs on my skin, not bad for a body mist.
Can’t wait to get the lotion version to layer with and improve the lasting power. This is one of my favorites from BBW!

Initially the body mist reminded me of some strange herbal medicine (my nose is weird) but eventually I got used to it and could pick out individual notes. the fig note smells exactly like fresh, ripe figs. they nailed that part. The brown sugar note is nice too, but it smells mostly like figs to me. I can’t really wear this when it’s cold and i’m inactive otherwise I’ll pick up that weird herbal fig vibe again. this smells especially good when I’m exercising a lot so I like to spray it on like crazy so I can catch a whiff while running. Then it smells sugary and more like pie. I don’t know why though.

This smells very natural to me. It can be worn year round and is not overpowering. Caramel, fig and coconut are the notes that really stick out to me. It does not last long on my skin or clothes, so I will be wearing it as an around the house scent. Overall, I like it.

variazioni sul tema del fico. stavolta il frutto è predominante, insieme al caramello e al muschio. molto gradevole.

Warm, sweet, and intriguing with a hint of subtle spice.. This is definitely one of B&BW’s best scents!
I bought this based on the comparisons to Ralph Lauren’s Hot, which was one of my favorite scents that has now been discontinued. This is actually quite similar, just not as rich, warm and spicy; I find it to be a bit more toned down than Hot. The fig, caramel and vanilla really stand out in this.
My only gripe is that I own the body mist and as expected, it doesn’t have the greatest lasting power; after less than 2 hours it’s completely gone without a trace. Because of this, I tend to only spray it on when I’m running quick errands. Hopefully, I’ll be able to get my hands on the EDT soon! This makes a fantastic fall scent!

a nice day perfume. i think it’s nice for spring. light and casual. a sweet perfume with mild woody and freesia notes. the fig is prominant. not too long lasting on me, just a couple of hours, but i don’t mind that in a daywear scent. i’ll just spray again.

This smells so warm and cozy. The brown sugar, vanilla, and coconut milk in this, makes it smell so soft and sweet, while the musk provides richness. It’s so distinct as well, I have never smelled anything like this. Its very different from your average vanilla and sugar sweet winter scents. I love wearing this in the winter because it has such a sweet warm smell to it.

This is one of my rare kryptonite perfumes; you could use it to punish or repel me. Back when this one used to be in the stores I tried it because brown sugar and figs are both majorly yummy, right?
However, I was assaulted with an instant intense headache: I had a migraine radiating out from the backs of my molars. This smelled nothing like figs or brown sugar. It just smelled like a very overpowering, cheap vanilla perfume trying very hard to be sexy or else…olfactorily murdering anyone who didn’t agree with its agenda.

wow.. so yummy!! it’s sweet creamy & warm. it’s my first fig scent (have no idea how fig smell heheee)

This smells delicious! It smells like sweet and yummy figs with a hint of vanilla and after a while, you start to smell some musk and caramel.
It smells fruity, sweet, and delicious!

  32. :

This perfume smells identical to their lotion and body wash, well done! It lasts a long time, well, I my skin anyway. This is my favorite smell by BBW.

  33. :

    3 out of 5

This grew on me. At first I didn’t like it since it reminded me of BBW’s Rice Flower and Shea, which I happily gave away.
However, since it meshes with my chemistry, I have been reaching for it more often. Will repurchase.
To me, it smells coconut-y and sappy. Love it!
Update: I really, really like this one now. It smells even better when the weather is warm. All the yummy pudding notes come alive. It is decadent but my skin absorbs it really well so it is not all over the place. I have the body mist, the high lather scrub, the hand cream and the body butter. Very nice indeed and I am so glad I gave it a try.

  34. :

This is a very nice fig and caramel, however I find it to be a little light. I want it to pop but it does not on me, even with the lotion combo. However, layering this with Opus Oils “Mother”, really brings out ripe juice fig, dark chocolate with light hints of caramel.

  35. :

    4 out of 5

Wearing this today. I really like this in warm weather as well as cool. It’s a little too vanilla-foody for me to be “in love” with it. It goes really nicely with a orange and ginger scented body lotion to keep it from being too heavy.

  36. :

suits me a lot. but some of my friends said it smells too sweet and yet i still like it

This is my second review of this body spray because I discovered something great… (I think it is, anyway!)… I applied some of the BBW holiday classic Vanilla Bean Noel body lotion, then spritzed on the Brown Sugar & Fig body spray and… VOILA! Something magical happened! The buttery vanilla mingles with the peppery fig and the resulting scent is amazing and delicious! The “butter” subdues the bitterness, and the “pepper” tones down the somewhat over-the-top sweetness. It seems to bring out the maple and makes for a really lovely and cuddly Fall/Winter fragrance.
I FEEL PRETTY! 🙂 If you have both, try it out and see what you think!

  38. :

    5 out of 5

I love this scent in the lotion and body wash form. It’s my go-to for trips because it’s masculine enough to share with my boyfriend without hearing complaints of smelling too “girly”. Also great on camping trips since it smells earthy and sweet without attracting unwanted insect attention!

  39. :

Body spray review. I’m not sure if I have a bad bottler or if it is just my nose. I can smell the yummy fig and the carmel, but there is something in this that smells like rubber latex to me. My mom doesn’t smell it. I really would never want to buy this again. It lasts about 3-4 hours with several sprays, and I think is best for fall and winter use.

  40. :

    4 out of 5

The lotion smells yummy but the EDT spray has this weird, plastic smell almost like latex gloves. Good thing I only bought the mini perfume. The lotion is a nice, syrupy-sweet foody scent for cold weather. (It’s too cloying for hot temperatures.) It’s not my favorite but the fig makes this fragrance more interesting than Warm Vanilla Sugar IMO.

  41. :

This is a favorite; it’s such a beautiful fragrance. I alternate between this and Sensual Amber in the fall and winter months, and I tend to pick this when I want something a bit cleaner and lighter along with being sexy and warm. It’s exotic and unique, but still fresh and could definitely be worn in the spring and summer if you wanted, though as I said, I prefer this in the fall and winter.
I get a lot of earthy fig and coconut, along with a very soft vanilla and bright caramel. Just so pretty!

My mother used to make a rum enfused pound cake…. if I took that cake, topped it with caramelized brown sugar and dried figs, it would smell like this. YUMMY!

  43. :

Nom nom! A very soft and sweet tropical fig fragrance! I had the lotion and body spray until my boyfriend jacked it! You’d think it was a female fragrance but with the natural musk in his chemistry it smells different. A lot of people say its discontinued in stores but they have the lotion, body wash and spray for $3 online! Think I’m going to stock up for him.

This is a delicious Fall scent, in fact writing about it makes me want the season to already be here. I get a sort of sweet brown sugar/cinnamon combo with a really nice earthy fig. It’s sweet and warm and somehow light compared to lots of other Autumn fragrances.

  45. :

    5 out of 5

Just delicious! I took a chance and ordered online because I heard this body spray was a nice gourmand, and I was not disappointed. Infact I was very pleased with the longevity and sillage of this as well for a body spray. I LOVE the brown sugar scent on my skin, it smells so yummy. It is a shame you can no longer buy this in the store, but at least it is still available online 🙂

At one point, I was on an insane kick with this fragrance. I could not get enough of it. I used the shower gel, the lotion, and the body spray. EVERY DAY! And then I just kind of fell off of it and didn’t wear it for about TWO YEARS. When I came back to it, it evoked wonderful memories, but something about it had changed to my nose. At the time it came out, B&BW was using a specific base–it was in Jap. Cherry Blossom and Exotic Coconut, too, to name a few–and for the first time, it bothered me. It’s a prickly sort of essence that makes my throat feel scratchy and tight. Alas…I have my memories…

  48. :

mouth watering, sweet and a spunky fruit spark to it…I love it cuz it is very “girly” and lasts all day. the caramel sugary notes are a winner for me, and the fig is a lot like spring time.

Brown Sugared Fig, Vanilla and Mapple … Hummmm… Yummy!!!
Perfect scent for cold days but it is also comfortable in sunny and a little hot days… Good staying power: 7 – 8 Hours.
My favorite Bath and Body Works Scent!!!!

Bath & Body Works now has several of their “classic fragrances” on sale online (and at some stores). If you love this one as much as I do… time to stock up! It’s more wearable in the cooler months because of it’s heavy maple and vanilla base, but if you use it sparingly in hot weather it DOES attract a lot of male reaction! I always get complimented by men when I wear this warm fragrance! 🙂

I have this and it is OK but no big deal. What I have that I love, from BBW is Lush Fig Nectar, which has been discontinued. Apparently BBW has a bad habit of discontinuing really wonderful fragrances and keeping the ho-hum varieties. If you like fig and have a chance to get Lush Fig Nectar, I can say that the description is right on- it is lush and delicious.

  55. :

Too sweet for me; very heavy-handed. It starts out with an almost sweet-and-sour smell (tangy!) which must be the fig. This wears down to the sweet fig, with muskiness, and I get caramel. There is something plastic or synthetic about it I can’t place that is a turn-off. Warm & creamy, yes; if you’re a “foodie” you might like it. Just overpowering for my nose.

  56. :

its smells so very pleasantly weird. it might turn you off at first but as it develops on you, or for me anyways, it gets very nice to the point where it’s almost edible.

I can understand why it is so popular,it is very pleasant and yes it smells what it says..Basicly fig and brown sugar.Warm and not too sweet actually,i am not a big fan of gourmands but this isnt your typical gourmand.I like it a lot but of corse not to longlasting..

One of my absolute favorites! Anything fig is splendid in my eyes and nose but this one is unique I think. It’s simple yet complex. Right away I smell the Fig and Vanilla which is irresistable. Then, I get the Amber, Musk and Caramel. I don’t really smell the flowers just the sweetness! It reminds me of plucking a ripe juicy fig off the fig bush and the juice dripping off my chin. Mouthwatering Delicious!

  59. :

I like how this scent changes after hours. First i was expecting a bit more fig from it, because at first i just get vanilla and coconut milk out of it. Its not heavy sweet, just comforting. Then it changes into a light musky scent which reminds me on Burberry Brit, and thats what i really like here. I would recommend it for fall or winter. Its not thats strong but it lasts some hours, so nice done.

I am a fan of fig and this by far is amazing. I get compliments all the time from strangers and I only have the splash. It’s warm, sensual, and sexy. Best B&B I have ever smelled. I knew I had to have it the minute I tested it…

My favorite scent in the entire universe in brown sugar! I could just be doused in it daily and never tire of the smell. I was just telling my husband yesterday that I would love to find a perfume that smells like brown sugar, so I decided to check on here and came across this! But my happiness was short lived when I read this is being discontinued. Am I too late? *panics*

Brown Sugar and Fig really does live up to its name — wonderful fig and sweet brown sugar meld together into a wonderful, “warming” fragrance… perfect for chilly December night, cuddling your special someone while sip hot cups of coffee in front of a fireplace. It is sweet, but not so sugary sweet that appeals to the younger set — it is also sophisticated. It’s one scent that I’ll be keeping in my perfume stash for years (for as long as it does not get discontinued!!!). Love, love, love it 🙂

Brown Sugar & Fig is mouth-watering! It’s a strangely sophisticated fruity/foody perfume. I love this very much, one of my favorite fragrances at Bath and Body Works besides Velvet Tuberose and Sensual Amber. If you’re a fig lover, you will love this scent. Fig is my favorite fruit next to lychee, and I love the smell of brown sugar. It melds together perfectly. Unfortunately, this one is discontinuing which is what the sales lady said (unless she just said that to get me to buy it ;p). I get fig, vanilla, and a caramel/brown sugar note with some musk and maybe a hint of amber.
