Some of the vintage Avon’s perfumes are nice little gems. I think of Occur!, Rapture, Unforgetable, Bird of Paradise, Moonwind. In the 50’s and 60’s the quality was there and the good fordidden raw materials was still use (oak moss, civet, castoreum). Bright Night less known that Occur! (probably because it’s an older one) is really a nice elegant spicy juice. I agree with sueall that wrote that it’s very similar to Opium. The lasting power of the eau de toilette is incredible. Vintage at his best!

Just received this lovely, unspoiled vintage bottle from an Avon collector. It has started to settle on my skin now and it hit me — OPIUM! This is a dead ringer for the original Opium! Of course, to be fair, the original Opium is a dead ringer for this vintage Avon fragrance. Here I thought Opium was so ahead of its times. Hah! Opium is a bit darker, a bit heavier, than this wonderful Avon creation, but the bones are all there.

I just got the package from the mail box in excellent condition, from Ruby Lane user Melissa Smith, owner of the store Time in a Bottle, with an outstanding costumer service. This is Avon 1954, when the ingredients were very honest, and naturally organic…plus, that beautiful amber color. The bottle was never used and appeared sealed at the point I had to ask my husband for help to open it. It opens very strong but within few hours in my wrists it starts to become softer, even sweet by the effect of the vanilla, and I like it. I like it so much. This perfume is a hit that smell sophisticated and nocturnal, and is very powerful. The kind of stuff that nobody can’t ignore.
