I wear this at home to make my kids happy. They tell me: “mommy you smell yummy”.
Indeed. It’s a very chocolate-y scent. Warm, pleasant, and uncomplicated.
jiry09 – :
I like the smell from the bottle. But I don’t really like wearing it. To me it smells quite strong and boozy.
I’ll probably use it as an air freshener or seomthing.
nasir77 – :
I love this scent. But the people around me always make comments. “Who is eating cotton candy?” “It smells so sweet” I don’t own anything sweeter than this. It’s not really appropriate to wear in class or at the office. I still do it though.
Mк Cross – :
The combination of dark chocolate, Brazil nut and vanilla produces a pretty accurate scent of warm, lush coco butter. I hear all these comparisons of what this smells like, but no one has said coco butter ( which I wear all the time).
The longevity on my combination skin is about 4 hours, and the sillage in in arm’s reach to start then settles into a skin scent.
The scent is pretty linear after the first couple of minutes, but that isn’t a negative here.
My favorite use is to lightly mist my freshly washed hair when I’m letting it air dry ( my guy LOVES nuzzling in it).
If you are into yummy linear gourmet scents, I recommend this for day trips in the summer and sweater weather for the fall.
Tip : this would also layer well with other scents based in vanilla , cocoa, or “fruits”.

I love this scent, and I just found out it’s been discontinued!! :((
SOOO if anyone sees this message EVER, I’ll be waiting for ANY suggestions regarding similar scents, in perfumes, eau de toilette, body mists, anything that reminds you of this scent so I can replace it!
Thanks!!

This was the first vanilla/chocolate scent that I actually liked. I was at the store when my boyfriend spritzed it on me and the first mental reaction was of course “no way, too sweet and boring for me”, but after a millisecond my brain suggested to pour it whatever it is in my coffee that I was holding. This was not the morning to pour alcohol in to my coffee, but the sweet and nutty concoction turned out to be surprisingly cozy. It was in early spring, it was a rainy day and when i got in to the car I smelled it again on my scarf. That was the feeling and the place I wanted to be in, so back to the store I went (the next day though). Only to find 2 months later that it was discontinued, when I went to get another one. I still have about 10 ml in my bottle, saved for the days when I want to feel comforted and maybe even get some compliments. Because although it is not the most complicated perfume, it is favored by the general public if you don’t overspritz. Great for cold days and the price was good (I know that in other countries it’s even cheaper) – about 15 Eur for 30 ml bottle. The BS Vanilla one is about 1/8th of what this Brazil nut can do. The vanilla is for layering only. So if by any chance you get hold of this misleadingly unpromising scent, seize the day! It may not be your signature scent, but it is god damn cozy!
Xeroxbhjkp – :
To me, this smells like a delicious tart of caramel, vanilla and chocolate… It’s lovely! 😀 Super sweet. A delicious scent!
romannvs – :
This smells just like Thorntons fruit and nut toffee. They dont do it any more but I still remember that smell from when I was a kid. A nutty toffee smell that Im sure most gourmand lovers would enjoy. For an edt it is pretty strong. I couldnt stand the sweetness on its own but it is fab for sweetening up other fragrances. Yes, Im partial to a bit of layering. Good sillage and moderate longevity which was another surprise.
Breadeaterse – :
Chocolate. Just chocolate. Nice for a casual, cozy fall day, maybe snuggling with your boyfriend or husband. It’s nothing too special, though.
Gonzik – :
I LOVE LOVE LOVE this fragrance!
It is just yummy comforting scent, makes me smile 🙂
I wanna smell this all day long.
egor1022 – :
Maybe I’m anosmic to this, but I can’t smell a thing.
Update – This made me itch really bad. I guess I’m allergic to Brazilian nuts.
ViTan1975 – :
I bought this in the EdT version, hoping for a delicious nutty chocolate cake scent to indulge my sweet tooth with now and then. And that’s more or less exactly what it dries down to, but at first I’m always a bit taken aback by how smoky it is. Especially the very opening is a little startling: so much smoke that to my mind it evokes barbecue sauce rather than the lovely woody nuttiness I was hoping for, which in combination with the chocolate is a little weird and not very enjoyable, although it’s not exactly bad either. Luckily the worst of the smokiness retreats within a couple of minutes, and what’s left is the smell of lovely brownies, rich and sweet and just nutty enough, as time passes and the vanilla becomes more prominent. Longevity and projection are great, especially compared to other, fruitier fragrances in this collection.
So it’s very nice after the very opening, and more or less precisely what I was looking for: a simple, comforting gourmand to get me through gloomy autumn weather. Still, I think it would work better as a body butter to wear on my own at home, to bed for instance: it’s so straightforward and so edible that it’s a bit too conspicuous to wear as a perfume. Because of that and because I tend to reach for scents where I love the opening more than the drydown, I almost never use this. So I probably wouldn’t buy it again, however much I like it when I do occasionally wear it.
Mikrack – :
I had such high hopes for this I thought I would love this but at first spray it smells very strange on me. After awhile it smells like chocolate ice cream but the beggining is so terrible on me that its not worth waiting for the good smell.
plr791InsuffBooni – :
I have the body butter and was trying to place in my head what the fragrance was that I could smell. It did not obviously smell of nut. It smelt a bit like tiramisu to me (italian dessert)! I tried to think some more and would describe it as. A creamy caramel/toffee scent. Low and behold what do the reviews say here – caramel. I want to point out that I often smell and sense things differently to others on here and in real life but not with this, it seems. I know the body butter is not the edt but they are fairly close in my experience with body shop products. I would not have bought this myself. I dont think I’m that in to nutty flavours -maybe I would be if theyre in smaller amounts combined with something else. It says here the notes include vanilla and dark chocolate. Dark chocolate is bitter and its not that. Definitely is not like thomas sabo charm kiss. But then, combined with the vanilla it would change the scent. I wouldn not buy the perfume. I havent actually seen the perfume for sale. For something to eat it would be nice but it would be too overwhelming to wear as a scent for me. I like sweetness in a scent..but not this kind of sweetness..this is a bit more syrupy sweetness.
lanchinl – :
The first product I got from the Brazil Nut line was the body scrub, but recently I also managed to get my hands on the EDT. This scent really grew on me… When I first tested the EDT I found it too chocolatey. Now that I’ve worn it some more in rainy weather instead of summer I like it a lot more.
This smells like the candied, roasted peanuts and almonds that you can buy at fairs. Absolutely delicious. The sillage of it is quite good within the first hour, after that it turns into a skin scent. Then again, I’m not into sillage bombs any way. Longevity-wise it lasts about 3 to 4 hours which I find a litte short. The chocolate is no longer overwhelming for me, it all blends together into one delicious scent now. I don’t notice the vanilla in it at all. The scent is quite linear, it doesn’t have any stages.
Brazil Nut makes me feel all comfy, fuzzy and warm on the inside. Definitely a rainy/cold day scent. Perfect for autumn. A delicious gourmand.
Mevbc505intitytek – :
i bought the 30ml of this the other day for £2.70 (brilliant bargain). this is literally the most perfect scent for autumn. it just smells like a beautiful warm caramel. it lasts for around 5/6 hours on the skin which i don’t mind as i like to spray perfume throughout the day. on the next body shop sale, i will for sure be stocking up on this. it’s absolutely gorgeous.
Tyfkaka – :
I bought it last summer because I liked the body butter of that same line.
Longevity is better than I expected, up to 6 hours. It’s very noticeable at the beginning. After 3 hours or so it becomes a skin scent. The problem for me is the scent itself. I was expecting chocolatey-nuts, but that scent is only present for the first two or three minutes. After that, it’s all about vanilla. A sour vanilla to be exact. That’s it. Vanilla always lasts longer, so the longevity of that note is not a surprise. But I certainly didn’t get the bottle for two minutes of the other notes.
Still, it’s very wearable and can be easily layered. I have to mention though that I haven’t worn it in winter. It could change if I wore it in colder months, but I doubt it.
I’m not sure whether this can be found in stores anymore, but I wanted to write a short review anyway in case it can help anyone.
gazavat64 – :
I normally don’t mix fragrances, but in this case I may try it with something that goes well with butter toffee. Way too foodie to be used on its own, at least in public.
newsome699 – :
This smells like hot caramel on me. Great to wear on very cold days as the smell is so warm and cosy.
It’s cheap and doesn’t last long but it is fun to wear occasionally, plus the boyfriend likes it 🙂
Карим1982 – :
Unfortunately this smells awful when you first spray it….synthetic and sickly with a weird unknown scent i just cant place..
You really need to wait for this one to settle and mingle with your body chemistry.
Then it becomes dark chocolate brownies straight from the oven!
If you can stand the first 10 minutes or so your definitely on to a winner. Especially if deep, rich and sweet aromas are your thing….or perhaps like me you just love the idea of smelling like a giant chocolate pudding!
pletcherrbe – :
I discovered a $5 bottle of this at Marshalls. This is a scent I’ve been looking for, I’m a sucker for the warm sweet scents. To me this smells like a chocolate version of my hazelnut coffee I enjoy every morning. There is a bit of an odd, disturbing, and bitter rubbing alcohol vanilla note but it’s not that bad after it warms up. Sits close to the skin, I would recommend this as a spray for scarves or on your clothes not skin to get past the bitter note. Overall, it’s a nice body spray but nothing else to it. Longevity is very short, but for the price I didn’t have much to lose. Let it die down on your skin for a while then it’s good. You can’t really smell it on yourself unless you spray a lot all over.
UPDATE: Ok, so I guess other people can really smell you, and I only sprayed it four-five times in my usual spots, wrists, neck, chest, behind ears. My husband walked into the living room about 10 minutes later and said “it smells like someone is making brownies in here.” I don’t smell much on myself unless I bury my face in my skin, but apparently, it forms a warm chocolate aroma cloud around you that others will catch, very nice! 🙂
nemonnemon – :
I have the body mist. The smell is nutty, but mostly comes off as smokey and sugary. It smells just like a toasted marshmallow. Lasts ~2hrs.
hef833InsuffBooni – :
Got this as a cheapie at TJ Maxx. $5 well spent.
On me, it smells like maple syrup. I absolutely love it. I generally hate chocolate in perfumes, but I don’t really get much chocolate at all out of this.
Unfortunately, it is EXTREMELY weak, and I have to spray an ungodly amount to be able to smell it on myself. Longevity is pretty weak as well, but since the 100mL bottle only cost me $5, and I have a secret love for overspraying, I can’t really complain!
EDIT – I am getting kind of annoyed with this fragrance. What I have is the body spray, and I have to spray it pretty much every 5 minutes to smell anything. I have been wearing it to bed, and the smell has been dissipating before I fall asleep. Might have to see about the EDT, hoping it has better longevity and a little more projection!
KOSTEG – :
Picked this up for $5 yesterday in what’s best described as a momentary lapse of judgment. Utterly hideous ethyl maltol and sickly vanillin cocktail from hell. Nauseatingly sweet and totally devoid of nuance, it smells a bit like “chocolate” syrup merged with plastic. It’s the kind of scent that makes you want to slam your head against a wall until you lose consciousness.
dima99988 – :
In my experience, the body mist is a lot better than the edt, which tends to go in a plasticky direction.
The mist on the other hand, is sweet, pretty and smells like slightly burnt sugar – like the crunchy top of a creme brulee.
futbolist_05 – :
I sort of bought this as a blind buy. I have smelt and bought other things in the Brazil nut line, and enjoyed the warm, almost buttery scent. I was disappointed in this fragrance though. I tried to like it, but it just went strange on me. I tried to pick up on any other notes that could make me like it..I tried to imagine it more as a caramel nutty scent..I just couldn’t like it. I do feel that the body products in this line have a nicer nuttiness to them and more of a creamy scent. I feel that this is just odd. But, it may work on the right person. I would have to smell that person to have my mind changed I think.
qiviluwg – :
This smells like those hot sweet roasted nuts that New York street carts sell, when the scent wafts around the whole block and warms your heart in really cold, rotten weather. I took the advice of some fragranticans and got this in a shower cream and body butter, and I’m so glad I’ve got this comfort scent for the Fall and Winter! Can’t wait to nab an EDT one of these days if I’m ever near a brick & mortar store. I’d wear it on the worst, rainiest, most unforgiving Fall days – it’s like snuggling into a blanket and a cup of nutty hot cocoa.
kostan – :
Are you sure this is discontinued? I see it at all the Body Shops (bought some today, full price—the entire line) …still smells incredible and is still available.
(full review to follow at some point in the near future)
criminajke – :
It appears this is one fragrance, lotion, cream, shower gel, mist etc that I just took for granted would always be there. I didn’t wear it everyday but for the last almost 20 years this has been around me in some form or another. I’ve always loved it. Warm, creamy, comforting. My fav has always been the body butter though I have also had a body mist of it in my gym bag for ages.
I’m sad this one is discontinued. I’ll miss it.
lqb814speagoessenda – :
It you smell it right from the bottle it smells very awkward, but once you spray it on your wrist and wait about 3 minutes, trust me, it smells AMAZING. It is a very warm spicy cozy scent, smells like burned sugar mixed with vanilla, perfect for fall and winter! Longevity is not the best (1-2 hours or so), sillage is low as well. But because of it’s price I don’t mind re-spraying it all the time. Smells yummy !
sony1986 – :
At first spray, it smells a bit like the chocomania body butter. But then it comes up with a lot better smell, very yummy, warm and comforting. The edt’s staying power on my body is very poor, it stays only an hour (I guess). But as it applied on my clothes it stays longer.
zolriba67 – :
This one is nice. It smells a bit smoky at first, which I don’t care for. However, middle notes are nutty and yummy. I wore this layered with prada candy and it paired very nicely. You can also use this Brazil nut scent to spray before bed, when you’re relaxing.
I think it’s discontinued just recently, I didn’t see anymore in the body shop.
nkt – :
Sweet, edible and nutty, like sticking my nose into a warm bag of sugared nuts and chocolate. I think I detect coffee in it too, or mocha. I like it alot. It didn’t last long on my skin but it lasted a whole day on my shirt and I could still smell it there at the end of the day. Yummy and cozy, simple gourmand. Much better than Chocomania edt, which is plastic chocolate on me.
bbbums – :
A nutty chocolate scent, not too sweet but cozy and comforting. The nutty scent is the strongest to me with the chocolate coming in second, and just a little vanilla. Doesn’t last too long but it’s not very expensive so I don’t mind respraying. Good for casual wear. A comfort scent, like a favorite blanket.
InDusT1k – :
Absolutely love the body butter scent of this..comforting, sweet and a bit nutty. The edt and mist are a disappointment however as they have no lasting power…(even a tad saccharin compared to the cream counterpart)…after about 20 seconds I can’t really smell anything.. In this sense, perhaps these aren’t such great value after all.
almar1981 – :
back a little over 10 years ago or thereabouts, the Jessica Simpson Dessert Treats line had a scent called “Butterscotch Toffee” … which i lovedlovedloved. still do.
this is a lot like that. i don’t get “brazil nut” out of this at all. i’d say it’s more nutella / maple syrup / toffee candy.
aqt432Diobtetty – :
A yummy cafe mocha with vanilla whipped cream on top!
ETA: This also reminds me of a chocolate shop I worked at in high school. There was a long glass counter at the back of the store where you could pick out individual chocolates to customize your box. On one end of the counter there was a section for roasted nuts sold buy the pound and kept under a warm lamp. The fresh chocolates and the warmed nuts mingled together are just what Brazil Nut smells like (plus the coffee vibe). Sadly, the shop closed, but Brazil Nut is here to remind me of those delicious, happy memories!
P.S. The body butter reminds me of Krispy Kreme donuts.
pavel22 – :
this is pretty precise to the name it has the chocolate but you smell the nut more than the chocolate while chocomania is all about the chocolate…i would recommend for the hazelnut lovers but both is suffice when layering…man i think i want a few from this line
vitya007 – :
Opens with chocolate and booze.
Then turns into creme brulee and stays like that until it fades away.
This is probably a good cheap perfume to layer.
Haker46 – :
Too sweet and too chocolaty – does not smell nutty at all. I just gagged when I smelt it. Not my kind of scent at all.
Sevastik – :
This scent is brilliant. It’s far from the note it claims to be centered around (not that I’ve ever smelled an actual Brazilian nut, but hey, it’s got to be similar to a regular European nut, right?). It has a certain nutty feeling to it, but to me, it doesn’t last more than a few minutes after I spritz it on.
What it actually smells like on my skin is cotton candy. And that is what makes it so brilliant and appealing to me and my nose.
It’s a mix of sugary notes, caramel, vanilla that result in something very reminiscent of that big pink fluff of cotton candy that you buy at amusement parks or at the beach.
fluffy – :
This is very sweet! Brazil Nut is quite a delicious scent, nutty, sweet, chocolatey, it smells like caramelised nuts and Ben ‘n’ Jerry’s chocolate ice cream. Very upbeat, but you’d want a sweet tooth for this one! It was a bit too candy floss for me, I wanted more creamy nuttiness. This sure has great projection though and great staying power for an EDT!
Vawsasceria – :
It is in London Orshi, I just ordered mine from the ‘The Body Shop’ web page . Can’t wait to have it.
appopyize – :
Yum, yum, fun! Brazil nut smells interesting like a wad of slightly burnt spun sugar with chocolate covered nuts. Smelling it I feel energized, happy, and I feel like it’s cotton candy esque, but so different and unique at the same time. My only complaint is that the EDT is very light and doesn’t last very long on me. Still, am happy to just reapply.
Storm999 – :
This doesn’t exist in London..I can’t find it anywhere! 🙁
yuruk88 – :
Wow, a blast of caramel-sugar-cacao blended smell smashed right into my face. Sweet over the top, at times I wonder if the bees are hovering around me. To put this fragrance in plain words: I just spilled a bowl of caramel syrup on my lap.
Ava_fromAF – :
I find it very sweet (almost too sweet) and at the beginning the prominant notes are mostly chocolate and nutty. The drydown vaguely reminds me of Prada Candy.
s363mv – :
Spraying this fragrance onto your skin is complete olfactory madness, like drowning yourself in Tia Maria coffee liqueur. As the boozy coffee flavour slowly fades it develops into the most amazing ultra smooth nutty skin scent and I adore it! Can’t get enough of this stuff, totally obsessed.
teivika – :
Smells exactly like Muller Crunch Corner Toffee Hoops yoghurt. I can’t really see myself wearing it on its own. Perhaps it could be layered with another gourmand, something like A*Men, for an extra vanilla/toffee kick.
sv13 – :
This fragrance really smell nuts, but I can’t say that I would like to smell this way.
sheldmmi – :
Lovely fragrance. I smelled the girl who worked at the shop and she told me she was wearing this scent. It is such a lovely soft caramel scent. Reminds me a lot of Prada Candy, but a lot cheaper, so this would be a perfect dupe.
kyzik – :
Delicious! Gooey, fudgy, brownies topped with almond roca! The edt alone doesn’t last, but apply the body oil beforehand and the scent will make you smell edible– the entire day.
ANDREX_DJ – :
This was a really yummy scent! About as gourmand as it gets. I wouldn’t want to smell like this all the time, but I might spritz it on for some Christmas time cuddling 🙂
zotkmooeos – :
For me the Body Shop Brazil Nut EDT smells mainly like smooth, boozy maple syrup & warm melted (treacle?) toffee.
Reminiscent of a Crème Caramel dessert!
Really lovely, albeit a little alcoholic/rubbery & headache inducing if I sniff too closely within the first fifteen minutes, but it soon mellows, becoming smoother & sweeter with creamy dark chocolate in the background.
Doesn’t have much projection & stays rather close, but lasts pretty well compared to some of the other Body Shop scents that are available at the moment. Can last for around 3 hours on my skin.
I think this is far more chocolaty than the Body Shop’s Chocomania EDT, which smells more like coconut than chocolate.
sashinator – :
This has a nice nutty coffee vibe , at first…then it gets too buttery sweet.
I can never pull this one of myself, but I think gourmand lovers
– will just love it !
cwx052elipseskism – :
I’m glad this was added! I agree with Jillmcshaw. Those exact words came to mind. It’s as gourmand as you can get. I get no coffee from this at all and surely hope others don’t get that smell from me when I wear it. I love coffee but don’t ever want to smell like it. The longevity is truly amazing…I don’t understand how a smell can vanish so quickly! It might be that others can still smell it? At any rate, I love this smell! It’s just a dream. Carnival, candy shop, vacation fun place….etc
bbbzzzjjjhhh – :
The opening is coffee and vanilla and slightly synthetic. The drydown reminds me very much of the top notes of Prada Candy and is quite delicious. Not bad for a cheap thrill but I am disappointed as I do not get any nutty notes which I was looking for in this fragrance.
Dmitriu – :
I love Brazil Nut, since the body butter- it’s rich and tasty. Very sweet. Almost like a chocolate, nutty, vanilla cookie. What is kind of disappointing is the longevity. Doesnt last very long- but it starts off a little bit plasticy- that goes away in 5-10 min.
Fakc on – :
The definition of gourmand!
Good heavens, I was blown away by how photorealistic the coffee and chocolate notes are. So nutty, so chocolatey, so..coffee-ey. I feel like a walking chocolate coffee cake whenever I sprayed this on. The initial scent opens out loud, screaming cake in all directions but soon dies down to a soft caramel-toffee sweet scent. I’ve never smelt something so gourmand before, not even in celebrity scents!
As for that bitter plastic note people are talking about, I can detect it briefly. I kind of suspect it’s because of the bitterness of the chocolate and the brazil nut that caused this effect, so I’m not perturbed.
I got myself a bottle of the body mist today after hunting down several TBS stores. Seems like the stocks are running low since this is a limited edition.
Brommargy – :
Smells like butterscotch, imitation pancake syrup, Frangelico, and corrective fluid (White-Out). I wanted so badly to like this stuff that I bought the bottle hoping I would love it after a few wearings, but it’s this sharp underlying scent of glue or solvent, which totally compromises the gourmand effect, thus ruining the experience overall.
I attribute the strange chemical effect not to my own chemistry (tried it on paper, on clothing, and on skin- same result), but to the quality of the ingredients. They just aren’t good enough to prevent that bitter tinge. Sad.
One might ask, “Well what were you expecting from a scent that costs ten bucks?” I definitely wasn’t expecting Fresh Brown Sugar Airplane Glue, but that is in fact, what I got.
Maybe someone else wouldn’t mind (or even enjoy?) that sharpness, depending on what your nose is sensitive to. If you don’t smell the bitterness that’s awesome.
stanok – :
A delicious milk chocolate with lots of nuts, yummy! This scent doesn’t evolve much, but loses its intensity pretty quick. Oh, if it could hold a little bit longer! The longevity is around 5 hours and the sillage quite close.
salgov – :
This is really yummy, at first. It smells just like butterscotch when it’s sprayed. Unfortunately, as the scent dries down, it smells plastic-y. I’m really disappointed, I wanted to love this fragrance!
super-fs – :
I agree that Brazil Nut is weak, but it is great, so I recommend bringing the small flacon in your purse. It opens up very nutty, a bit like coffee bread. Later, it develops into a perfect blend of chocolate, nut, and vanilla. The closest I can say is chocolate milk. It is the weakest of its line, though.
ikvilibrium – :
Yep,it’s a very weak perfume. But smells really good, very sweet, and reminds me some sweet as Kozinaki-a lot of nuts with honey and hot burning sugar.
Meanp599intitytek – :
I`m glad Brazil Nut has been added to the database. To me it`s more of a chocolate scent, a bit like a boozy chocolate liqueur with nutty undertones. I also have the showergel and the body butter and I adore this scent – so warm and comforting, such a delicious gourmand.
Longevity is not the best, 1-2 hours and then it`s gone and sillage is quite low as well, but it`s very cheap so I don`t feel bad for spraying it a bit too generously. Yummy!
