I hate it when first sprayed on, it`s a sour and sweet mess! Not sure what notes I could detect but it is just headwrecking as it is..too much going on at one time, but after half an hour or so the entire scent starts to develop into something totally woody, like burnt wood that I could smell in a lot of fragrances a few years back, cos then that was the thing (it is sugar and candy `gourmand` as we`re speaking) and this slightly sweet and burnt wood smell with a touch of vanilla is what really makes this perfume pleasant. It lasts a good while too, so if you can put up with that initial mess, you`ll end up smelling lovely in the end. I think it is definitely a winter perfume, around Christmas-time, or any time you feel like you want to walk with the smell of sweet burnt wood around you, think of this one.

I love the drydown on Vendome Elixir, it is warm, cozy, just wonderful, trouble is, the scent evaporates way too fast on me..for an Elixir you would expect some punch, some character, and this has none…it smells pretty, warm floral with a hint of woodsy spiciness, so as much as I enjoy using my decant,as it is an elegant scent, for now I won’t purchase a bottle, it is real pricey, and not longlasting enough..

Sweet, like spun sugar, but not a sweet as cotton candy. Lighter than that. Soft floral with jasmine at the center. Feminine, but not sensual. Makes me think of walking outside in a soft flowing white dress in spring.
Longevity; Disappointing. 15 min drydown, then maybe 2 hours tops. Would need to reapply 3-4 times a day.
Sillage; Even right after application, my husband had to have nose to neck to smell it… Not that that is a bad thing, but I’m looking for something a little stronger.

What a yummy smell, just wonderful!
A perfect combination of a warm, floral and just a little fruity scent. Vanilla is dominant but not foody at all. The Pear is clearly there and goes very well with the Orangy Notes- mouthwatering! Jasmine, Rose and Rosewood bring the fragrance down to earth. What a quality! Imagine something between Boucheron Trouble (a citrusy Vanilla) and Hypnotic Poison Eau Sensuelle (Vanilla Orchid with Orange Blossom). A well done NEW Oriental- Floral to my nose!

I completely agree with the previous reviewer….it is a light and elegant, sparkling floral. The notes are right up Alley and though I usually tend towards more heady intensive fragrances, this one lists a long time and smells feminine and expensive. It’s perfect for me. Love to get a full bottle soon. Also love Boucheron for men Jaipur…please try this one if you have a chance! !

I have a feeling I smelled this before. However, it’s nice and elegant, feminine, I can’t put my finger on where I smelled something similar to this.
It’s fresh, softly peppery and floral.
What kills it is the final drydown. It simply turns into a vanilla scent with a sour undertone. Even on paper. I would have to spray this every two hours to avoid that phase.
The bottle is beautiful.
