honey, a little maple(?), and something creamy soft and powdery. but, mostly honey. i really like this, but it faded really quickly. still, the honey and creaminess might be worth a fb. undecided.

This is a very good and interesting scent. I only have the sample, I wish I knew where to get the full bottle.
I’m impressed with this one, it’s the purest honey scent I have tried.
It’s literally honey and dried fruits.
    So natural smelling and good.
It is one of my favorites now.

I love this fragrance. It reminds me of fall and pumpkins don’t why but it does lol. I get the dried fruit and honey combo, it’s beautiful. It’s a very comforting fragrance. Love love love. So glad I found it again in the back of my armoire. “ There you are my love”

Auntie Joanne is in her 50’s now and never got any children of her own, but she doesn’t seem to mind much. The lines started appearing around her kind, brown eyes quite some time ago already, but she is particularly radiant today, swirling around the tables on the lawn at the yearly family gathering in her sun hat and floral dress, bottle of home-made summer wine in hand. “TRY THE WINE”, she insists a bit too loudly, already having “taste-tested” the latest batch repeatedly.

Spoilers: I’m a shameless honey lover. The story of Botrytis and Ginestet was so interesting to me that I went back and forth on splashing out on a bottle until finally the siren song of notes like honey, quince, raisin and gingerbread reeled me in. This juice is worth every penny, it hugs the skin in such a seductive way. Initially the sweet sauternes dominates but, recalling the ‘noble rot’ that Botrytis refers to it suddenly begins to transform. If you’re the type of person who admires the skill required to create a bottle of petrichor, then I recommend Botrytis to you. It’s exactly what it’s meant to be, a little work of art.

I’ve had my sample of Botrytis for such a long time and my opinion on it changed quite a bit. Many years ago, I loved this scent and wanted to own a full bottle at some point. Now I tried it again after a long time, and I don’t feel that need anymore, especially not for a 100 ml bottle for ~100 €.
Botrytis smells very good. The main note is honey, which is generally a hit or miss note for me. This honey note is very natural and works nicely. Besides honey I smell wine (white wine, fruity) and a hint of spicy gingerbread. And that’s it. Warm and sticky sweet, just like honey. I have to admit it’s quite unique, and the fruity wine note lightens up the honey, but in the end, I don’t think I would wear this really often.
It’s a delicious, but pretty linear scent, so it’s easy to get a bit bored of it. But if you’re specifically looking for a honeyed wine fragrance, look no further, this is it!

This is one of my top ten perfumes ever. The kind that’s so delicious and intoxicating that your eyes roll back in your head with ecstacy as you breathe a deep sigh of contentment. You know you’ve smelled one of the world’s greatest perfumes.
Sweet honey, slight florals, warm amber and tasty gingerbread means I’m reaching for this one quite a bit.
I feel like it envelops me in this warm, soothing hug. I hope they never stop making it!
Long lasting and great sillage too.

Mature, raunchily honeyed fruit. This is the wine perfume I was looking for.
The gingerbread note is tantalizing and so well placed!
Edit: This fragrance is my husband’s favorite on me, which is saying something. It’s really underrated. I could wear it every day as the perfect warm honey scent, but I don’t overuse it because I’m not sure how long it will be available. I was only able to find it at Luckyscent for about what you’d pay for a designer scent (so, highly reasonable for a niche scent), and it only comes in one size. It’s got kind of cheap packaging and a pedestrian bottle design, but don’t let that sway you against it. There is, however, a lovely satin drawstring bag that it comes in, so the little touch of luxury is there. However, I say judge by the scent alone. The longevity is fantastic and it lasts all day. It’s a close-to-the-skin scent, but I did get a sweet compliment from someone who hugged me. It seems as though it’s a weak performer but I contest that the wearer should spray lightly, 1-3 sprays, so as not to be overwhelmed into perfume numbness. This way I get lovely whiffs of honeyed raisins with a hint of yeast and spice all day. *Eyes roll back in my head*
For a while I was looking into smell-alikes out of curiosity, because I want more of the same. The Al-Rehab Dalal is very close but smells cheap with some annoying plastic note. Lush Honey I Washed the Kids is heavier on the honey, so much that it’s more of a beeswax scent. Hiram Green Slowdive has some comparison but it was really too heavy and foul for me, even dabbed. Escada Collection…I can’t even touch the stuff, it’s so expensive. So I’ve settled on my beautiful Botrytis and am happy that this local French winery decided to branch out into its inspired perfumery. This is one hidden gem for sure.

Botrytis is so delicious and enjoyable. I’m not a gourmand type of girl but this has some really great elements that balance out the delicious notes.
Initially I’m met with a chewy patchouli type note that becomes boozy and caramelized, thinning out into a dark honey-wine like mead.
Lightly fermented fruits, perhaps dried apricots with a touch of fizz, soft floral, spice and warm smoky tonka, almost tobacco-like and woody. Yes, mead aged in an oak barrel spiked with ginger beer.
My spray decant seems to perform pretty well — it’s a total bomb that lasts a good 8 hours on my skin. Botrytis could be a great comfort scent for winter and fall.

  10. :

Nothing too exciting here, a nice smooth honey with a touch of grape.
And I notice a little amber and ginger too.
    Sillage is quite low.
I think reminiscence tonka is a better choice for warm honey

Let’s not even pretend that half of the reason I am getting a full bottle of this isn’t its gorgeous design..
But beyond that, it’s a sweet mild autumnal scent, I do get honeyed fruits and wine, but I also get a slightly musty note that, yes, does put me in mind of a sweet powdery fungus creeping in at the edges, wrinkling up the fruit and leaving the precious sugars behind..

Botrytis is such a feminine, sensual scent, with a curvaceous bottle filled with a liquid of a golden hue. I adored this on paper, as it smelt absolutely stunning, a beautiful natural honey with a white floral background. I was really hoping that this would become my special and long-sought after honey perfume.
    Nope.
During the opening, I get wine-like honey, warmed with a touch of spices… I’m now waiting for those white florals here, where’s the magic gone… where is the honey… waiting…. waiting… waiting… nothing… except a synthetic vanilla. This scent smells like a cheap vanilla candle on my skin. The same thing has ruined many fragrances for me, most notably, this and Kenzo’s Jungle L’Elephant (which I was also devastated about).
To say that I’m disappointed is an understatement, so I would advise you to test this before you buy, especially if you have skin like mine that strongly projects synthetic vanillas. Vanilla is also not listed as a note. Whilst I still consider this a beautiful scent, this brand has definitely cut corners with the quality of the ingredients used. Soft sillage on me (barely projects at all); longevity was for about 4-5 hours.

Oh wow! love this perfume! While I was testing it – I read up on it a little: Ginestet is a 100+ yr. old winery in Bordeaux. “Botrytis Cinerea” known as noble rot,is a fungus that grows naturally on grapes; benefiting vintners by concentrating the sugars. I’ve been looking for a honey-focused gourmand, and this, IMO, is perfect in every way but longevity. Botrytis is “sweetness & light”, golden rays of sunshine through autumn leaves. Feminine, but not overly sweet, the honey is clear, and the floral notes are smooth.(I get amaryllis and perhaps fruit blossoms) A little tang of quince is there with the red grapes in the beginning, and the amber note in the base smells of vanilla. It’s all blended with such a gentle hand that nothing jumps out front. Undeniably pretty.

Beautiful, oh so beautiful. The nicest honey! Lovely, sweet yet light and ethereal. But the perfume is really strong, and has a very lovely wine aroma. It does remind me very much of certain wines. It’s so delicate yet full and rich. Nothing heavy though. And the bottle is adorable! The perfect colour. I love it. It has very good sillage and is also very long lasting on me (I must say I generally am very lucky in that way, with most perfumes) – good for the whole day.
Botrytis by Ginestet – what a gorgeous name – and what a gorgeous perfume.

  15. :

I am in love with this fragrance, the honey note is fabulous. The scent is not gentle or lovely or comforting or snuggling in front of the fireplace on me–it is full on loud and bawdy after dark. If I wore this to work, I’d probably be sent home. Debating if I could get my moneys worth if I purchase, it is riveting but just don’t know if I can pull it off.

  16. :

This was everything I was hoping for when I first tested it a few years ago, and I just finally got a full bottle. The sample, however, did not even remotely do it justice – a sweet but not sickly honey which faded quickly, and did not bring out any of the other notes. But spraying the bottle is an entirely different story. I can smell the candied fruit, the gingerbread a bit, and I’m unfamiliar with quince but that must be one of the things I can smell but not identify. It smells like the holidays, in a sense. Very gentle. I was about to wish this was stronger, but I don’t. Its longevity is decent even though the scent is soft. And considering this scent is wine inspired, they really were spot on – I love wine, and after spraying this I immediately thought “Sauterne.” And an overwhelming-smelling Sauterne would be a bit gross. They really hit the sugared-fermented-grapes nail on the head. This may not be everyone’s cup of tea, (or glass of wine….har) but it is certainly a work of art, and I love it.

I’ll be honest, being used to strong fumes I wasn’t sure about this one at first…….then as it settled it became the most beautiful, ethereal, honeyed aroma. It’s not thick, syrupy honey, its like a faint glaze mixed with woods, a bit of floral and musk and it just WORKS!
The bottle is gorgeous too! It doesn’t have the best longevity but when something smells so good who cares if you have to reapply to get your kick!

  18. :

The only honey I will ever wear! Normally I cannot handle honey in perfume as my nose is extremely sensitive to the smell of honey and it ends up being very cloying and sickening. But this one has the perfect hint of vanilla and blend of florals to make this surprisingly pleasant.

  19. :

    5 out of 5

I finally got myself a big bottle of this, I just had to. According to my dabber sample, this is a soft, sweet honey with dried fruits. The scent is different when sprayed though, it has a slight, sparkly, fresh white floral scent to the honey. Very easy on the senses, soft and not harsh, artificial smelling, and no traces of beeswax. No bitterness, and the white flowers are an excellent addition to the honey. I wouldn’t want any other flowers in it. The longevity and sillage are both unfortunately quite weak, but what you gonna do if you love something? Reapply. I love this. It’s very similar to Escada Collection but has a more expensive feel and more prominent honey, whereas Escada feels younger and thicker, more caramel, longer lasting.

This was another free sample with purchase, and I have to say I was hooked from the first go – this is absolutely divine! When I first tried it, it made me think of Christmas – specifically, my mother’s Christmas pudding, because she soaks the dried fruit in a few tablespoons of brandy, and I get a distinct boozy note when it first goes on. It settles very quickly though once it dries down, and then all of the other notes come out to play. Warm honey, spice from the gingerbread, dried fruit, amber and a slight tang from the quince – so, so good! I asked my husband if he could buy this for me for Christmas last year, and he did (LOVE him!) so now I have a nice big bottle. Yum. This one gets a lot of nice comments when I wear it. Sillage is pretty good – around arms length, and it lasts reasonably well on me. Botrytis is a warm, comforting, beautiful fragrance – it makes me think of my favourite, soft, cuddly jumper whenever I wear it and it makes me feel happy every time I spray it on. Oh, and undreaming – thanks heaps for the recommendation on Coming To My Senses! Bought it, loved it – and yes, I agree, it’s a great book for anybody interested in perfumes and scent.

I was really looking forward to trying this fragrance after learning about it via Alyssa Harad’s “Coming To My Senses” – a book I will aggressively recommend to anyone interested in scent & perfume, btw – but the actuality of it left me keenly disappointed. It does open with a lovely honey start but, on me, quickly settles into what my nose often interprets with vanilla as a mostly cheap, synthetic vanilla perfume. I had hoped the vanilla and I would work well together in this one, but alas; headache inducing and ultimately washed off. Sorry, Botrytis!

Just received this today in the mail. Although this is a soft scent, it is so ethereal in nature. This scent is amazing! I reminds me of a quiet night laying in the grass, hanging with friends. You enter a deep thought as the sounds of their voices start to fade out, then you look into the night sky and see the stars shimmering. All of a sudden you get a whiff of this sweet honey nectar scent that’s wafting along with the soft breeze which triggers a feeling of nostalgia. Yup, I love this one.
    Scent: 9/10
    Sillage: 6/10
Longevity: still testing, but it’s a light scent
    Presentation: 10/10
    Repurchase?: highly likely

Vanilla and honey, far out. I reeeeaaaaly wanted to love this one, but on my skin smelled like burnt rubber. Dalal al Rehab is very similar, but married way better on my skin.

Beautiful honeyed fruit. Full-bodied but just the right sweet. I’d swear there was tobacco in it too, but it’s not listed in the notes. I only wish it lasted longer, but it is an EDT. I hope Ginestet keeps making this forever!

It’s sweet, warm, and lovely after the drydown, but initially it’s rather strong. My husband who is highly sensitive to perfumes dislikes it. However, the main problem is that upon initial spray, my skin makes it smell like urine. I would love to find honey fragrance that works with me. It takes over an hour or two for it to settle down and smell sweet without the offending note. I bought this without testing it. Next time, I will have to test anything with honey in it prior to purchase.

I wanted this since forever and a day. I wanted it so badly, all of sniffing a tiny sample a couple years ago. Finally I decided to treat myself for Chrsitmas. And after the first reaction ( my precious, finally mine ! ) disappointment came…. Not because it isn’t as stunning as I remember , but because the silage is weak and the lasting power is not stellar either.
Other people described this well . It’s liquid honey. Nectar of the deities . Mixed with flowers and maybe some propolis . The top notes can’t be beaten by anything, honey shines here… And then there is a floral Amber developing softly , beautiful, feminine, curvy .
The bottle looks much smaller than what one would think 100ml look like, it’s round like a ball with a silver wine leaf on the cap. The bottle sits in a brown satin bag and the box is quite plain.
A beauty so soft and I can barely feel it and I need to be heavy handed spraying . Maybe my skin eats it… I wish it didn’t. It is better in clothes but the juice is rather ambery in color so I am not sure I want to spray much on my clothes.
    Very beautiful and sweet!

Best honey ever! Exquisite nectar from heaven. Deep, rich, sweet and multifaceted the way honey should be. Heavily complimented as well. When wearing this at work one day my boss started sniffing everyone trying to find that amazing scent. Obviously projection is not a problem. Ditto for longevity. I wear it in any season and it works so well. A must-have. I’ll never be without it.

I get lightly spiced dried fruits soaked in honey from this. And, am I crazy, or do I smell vanilla? I know it’s not listed in the notes but I’d swear it’s there. Regardless, it’s juicy and indulgent, but there’s a fermented, boozy edge to it that keeps it from going overboard as a gourmand. I prefer it to both Hedonist and Kiste, two similarly fruity, honeyed, boozy scents.

  30. :

    4 out of 5

One of the best sweet honey scents available, smells just like a heaenly sauternes wine! Honey, dried fruits, amber and a little spice, can it get any better?

  31. :

    5 out of 5

I tried a dupe of this in hand lotion years ago and hated it. Still, when I was given this sample vial, I had to give it another shot and my opinion turned right around. This is delicious. Like Ambre Russe without the dirty musk and booze, for those who know that scent. Botrytis is a fruited amber with rich notes that smells expensive and complex. A great autumn scent. On my sister, it is much more powdery and strong, and she hated it. I’d definitely advise trying this before purchasing a full bottle and also advise trying it on in tiny amounts to begin, because of the strength. It lasts for ages and it won’t wash off if you hate it. Worth the price tag, though, if you find out that this is your Holy Grail perfume!

  32. :

    4 out of 5

Botrytis is an animalic honey scent with notes of dessert wine, cherry tobacco and amber. I know that tobacco isn’t listed in the notes but it is there. This scent is sweet, warm, rich and full. The bottle is really beautiful and came wrapped in a deep brown silk bag with a golden tassel drawstring. I admire this scent but find that I don’t reach for it.

  33. :

    4 out of 5

Botrytis is a strong candidate for “ultimate honey fragrance”: I agree with the reviewer below, the bottle sets high expectations of a rich, dense, delicious honey scent and what you see is what you get. Botrytis (cool name!) smells very sweet, very natural, and very much edible (or drinkable, more precisely, considering the wine associations). At the same time it’s quite perfume-like, not at all sticky or too heavy if you don’t overspray. Sillage is fine but not too overwhelming, just right, and longevity is more than okay. So it could be worn in any season, I think, and for pretty much any occasion where smelling like honey is not a problem – and is it ever?
Honey isn’t one of those special favourite notes for me that make my heart beat faster when I find a good representation, so although I like this very much I’m not frantically googling full bottle prices yet. I would like at least a little decant of this, though, and if you’re a honey lover I can’t imagine you can do much better than this.

  34. :

    3 out of 5

If you like sweet(ish), if you like (very natural) honey, if you like lightly amber(y) with a gentle touch of blossoms, you might find Botrytis beautiful. I do. I only have a sample, but looking at the picture of the spherical bottle with the golden, lightly syrupy, almost viscous looking, sunshiny liquid, you get exactly what you see. I said sunshiny, but this is really mellow sun. Autumnal, deep, comforting, harvest sunshine. Maybe even the last sunshine of the season. 🙂 Lovely. I do admit that Botrytis reminds me of a few other fragrances and the longevity and projection on me is not great, but if someone wanted to give me a bottle, it wouldn’t bother me in the least. 🙂

  35. :

    4 out of 5

A fruity floral that’s swimming in semi-sweet honey. This could easily have been death by sucrose, but it does a reasonable job of not going too far. The honey has a lactonic edge that pushes it into rich gourmand territories as opposed to trashy diabetic ones, but it gets a bit cliche after 15 minutes or so. Overall, it’s a pleasant honeyed floral that smells familiar to a handful of department store feminines, but it reveals just enough character to stand alone. The performance is utterly, laughably, pathetic.

  36. :

A sweet, luxurious, honeyed red wine! I want to drink this so badly! It’s way better than how I imagined it would smell. The dried fruit and gingerbread notes are very present too, as well as the quince (my uncle has a quince tree so I get to enjoy this apple+pear-like fruit once in a while.) Though I must say, I don’t really get any flower note.
It feels like a lot of work must have gone into this to make it smell just right. I wonder if real Noble Rot Wine smells like this? Now I have a new mission… Must smell and taste this wine!!
Unless you have an aversion to sweet/sugary/syrupy perfumes, give this a try. It’s pretty unique.

  37. :

Just got this today and I think it’s love at first whiff! It started out with spices, must be the gingerbread. Then came a sweet boozy smell, followed by something that must be the quonce. Not sure as I have never tasted or smelled quince before. Over, under and throughout is this warm honey.
I wish I wasn’t so new at this, so my words could do it justice…

Mmmh, a perfume with a plant disease name?
Well, there must be a reason, and there is!
Given the right climate condition the fungus might affect grapes in a very special way, drying the berries down to little bags of sugar.
This special concentrated grapes are used to make very expensive dessert wines.
I guess the perfume is trying to reproduce the honeyed aroma of “botrytis wines” like Sauternes.
Never tried this perfume, but I’m intrigued

  39. :

    5 out of 5

Ginestet clearly did not know that botrytis is a fungal disease that attacks plants?!
Botrytis cinerea is a necrotrophic fungus that affects many plant species, although its most notable hosts may be wine grapes. In viticulture, it is commonly known as botrytis bunch rot; in horticulture, it is usually called grey mould or gray mold.
I have a pergola over which I have trained a german white grape. I have to try control the botrytis the best I can. I tested these diseased grapes out of curiousity and they were so acid my face nearly got stuck in a certain expression. If they can make fancy dessert wine from the diseased grapes then the folks in the vineyards are truly magicians! I can only guess that they are growing a very particular cultivar for this purpose.
It sounds a lovely perfume but I find the name off putting! lol

I wanted to love this one and was excited to receive my sample. It went on like smooth honey and dried down pretty much the same way. For me it wears very very close to the skin and every now and then it turned into something beautiful and mysterious – then disappeared. So overall, I think it is nice but was disappointed that the mysterious beauty did not reside on my skin for long. This is a “no” for me but I can imagine that this can be truly beautiful on others.

This is a lovely molasses gingerbread honey scent. It’s a lovely gourmand that doesn’t make me feel like I’m wearing a dessert. I’ve been looking for something to fill the void left by Jo Malone’s Ginger Biscuit, and while this isn’t quite it, it comes closer than anything else I’ve tried so far. It’s less of a realistic gingerbread and more of an impression of gingerbread. Actually, it smells a good bit like that Jamaican ginger beer you can buy that’s sweetened with honey. It’s a great fall scent that doesn’t scream “holiday.” I think the asking price is a bit much for what you get, but this scent is still lovely.

I dabbed some on 5 minutes ago (sample from Surrender to Chance), and was very appalled. The same rancid note that ruined D&G Pour Femme for me is in this one! I think it might be the amber. I’m not sure if the sample was taken from an old bottle or something else, but I feel assured now that my curiosity has definitely killed the cat… or my nose.

i was lucky to be able to visit scent bar in LA for the first time. boy did i come away with some absolute favorites! anyway, i could only afford to buy one bottle and this is the one i bought. it’s a beautiful honeyed floral with a warm ambery sweetness. it’s very golden and sexy, would be perfect for a cool evening, but smells good anytime, if you ask me. sweet, but in a good way, not cloying or sugary, but sweet like honey, wine and dried fruits. so glad i picked this one up!

Honeyed dessert wine. Very linear – which is to say scrumptious from first spritz to last wisp. Perhaps I could say the flowers seem to come out a bit more near the end. I absolutely see the comparison to (gasp!) KK’s Honey, though Ginestet is a smidge more refined and smooth and a bit quieter. So lovely.

  45. :

Smells like honey, but somehow doesn’t make me feel like a walking snack. Although, it smells so much like honey, I’d probably avoid wearing it around bees or mosquitoes.
It’s warm, spicy and gorgeous. That said, much as I admire the scent, I’m not sure I want to wear it. Tried it before a meeting with my supervisor and in her office with the door shut and being a little warm, it projected like crazy. Thankfully she’s not sensitive to scents, but be forewarned. I’m going to try my sample again next fall and see how I feel then.
Still, really spectacular perfume and totally worth trying.

I smell a bit of honey and some flowers, but none of the gingerbread notes, which is why I bought this. I like it, but I don’t love it. I think I will try to pair with something else.

I approached this fragrance with probably too high expectations after reading the beautiful “Coming to my senses” by Harissa Harad. Here she celebrates this fragrance (no hints to the name, but the accurate description of the beautiful bottle and the sensual satchel that come with it are clear enough) as the quintessentially sexy scent that drives her boyfriend (future husband) insanely sexual whenever she lets a drop slip on her skin. Her descriptions are so poetic and I came to the conclusion that what she liked I had to like, too.
Instead. Headache inducing sweetness is only one of the downsides for me. The worst part is, Botrytis reminds me why I’m not so fond of cats, if you know what I mean.
Which is a common concern when I come around any fragrance cointaining honey in large quantities, especially Guerlain’s Idylle and L’Occitane Miel et Citron.
This scent might have worked for me if it was lighter on the honey-uriney note and a bit deeper on the dried fruit aspect, which approaches it to some fragrances I really love: SL Arabie and Diptyque Volutes.
But, alas, too much honey is a no-no for me.

The gingerbread and the honey are so yummy in this, and that slight booziness is more than welcome. I always find myself craving for this in the autumn. A great comfort scent, but needs to be applied lightly, otherwise the sweetness can be too much.

I really wanted to love this one but it is just not gourmande enough for me. That being said it has been sometime since I have used this. It is the perfect perfume for the holiday season with all of the rich and festive notes including quince, gingerbread, amber and honey. I am so glad the so many of you have had a wonderful experiance with Botrytis. I will do an edit after trying it again 🙂

Honey in a bottle! With raisins soaked in Sauterne. This is probably what the botrytis-affected grapes from which Sautern wines are made smell like. Dreamy, just beautiful. This scent lasts a loooong time on clothes. Not so much on the skin, with average projection.

Very beautiful, beautiful perfume, resembles nombre noir shiseido (the most beautiful fragrance of history according Turin) just is not as dry as that but rich, creamy. Contains much wine, get drunk, but it is not sickening. The nice amount POWEDRY gently dries the grape juice

I don’t see the big deal with this. Going by the notes, I thought it would be similar to Frapin 1270, but they’re nothing alike. This smells like any other low sillage, faint, semi sweet floral perfume. In fact, reading the notes while sniffing my arm, it’s like I’m wearing a totally different perfume. Opening: Alcohol, then sweetish floral, then something vanilla-like, then gone. You really have to press your nose against your skin too. 15 minute longevity. wow…this is ridiculous. $9 3ml spray. what a waste, I should’ve ordered the 1ml. I’ll probably throw this in with my next swap, it may work better on someone else’s skin.

Such a dreamy perfume! Honey, dried yellow fruit and amber all blended to perfection. Would love a full bottle, but do not know where it could be found in the UK:(Its vanilla-ish dry down reminded me quite a bit of Laura Biagiotti’s Venezia 2011 vanilla accord (but not the top notes, not at all) A beautiful fragrance, truly beautiful. Once again, many thanks to my niche sample fairy god-mother, MrsLetterO!

Great floral honey and the most round perfume I own!

I thought I’d died and gone to heaven. Granted, this is a super sticky sweet honeyed fragrance but I just love it. It doesn’t last terribly long, but I’ve been layering it with Chergui an dthat seems to help.

Starts as others have said with a sweet honey floral burst. I find it a tad powdery, in a good way. It is lovely but I’m afraid it doesn’t last very long. It is quite soft on the skin but it does linger for a long time (8-10 hours) Unfortunately, I have to put my nose right to my skin in order to smell it. If it had better projection, I would definitely consider a bottle, but alas… Not the way it sits on me. I’d have to douce myself in it just to smell it.

Sauternes fan that I am, I just had to try something named for the “noble rot”. Sure enough, the winey, honeyed funk is there. Yum.

Hey Botrytis fans, I had to share this. I was ordering a bunch of samples from The Fragrance Shop that makes designer inspired fragrance oils, and they sent me a free sample of Versace Bright Crystal inspired fragrance oil. Since I don’t really like Versace perfumes, I was not eager to sample this, but when I finally did, I was in shock because it smelled just like Botrytis. I don’t even know what the original Bright Crystal smells like. This stuff is strong and last a very long time. So if your complaint is with Botrytis’ lasting power, I recommend that you try a sample of this from The Fragrance Shop. To my nose this and Botrytis smell like exactly the same thing. I am not affiliated with The Perfume Shop besides being their new customer.

I love this. This and Frapin 1270 are my beloved boozy scents. Both are opulent, warm, delicious. Just what good perfume should be.

ok that is freaky. it signed my review as guest… so lets try it again and it cut off the end. strange.
    Heaven
    I’m in heaven
    And my heart beats
So that I can hardly speak
    And I seem to find
    The happiness I seek
    When we’re out together…
If heaven has a scent please let it be this. And if heaven had a song Frank Sinatra would probably be singing it. Botrytis, I find, is just as golden as its color. This has to be the truest honeyed perfume I have tried to date. I don’t think I need to look any further. After this I think everything else would pale in comparison.
The honey is so deep and rich. It has a rawness about it. It seems unfiltered, if you will. Also the second thing I smell is tobacco. Even though
