I wasn’t sure if I would like this apple scent since, in general, I am not tempted by the taste or fragrance of apples at any time of year, much less want to apply it to my skin. But Body Fantasies has a way of making a scent medley of apple, not overpoweringly so, with a juicy heart of pineapple, and just a touch of musk that is not hidden under a base note blanket of vanilla, that makes it a truly wearable fruit scent. I cannot compare it to the synthetic apple perfumes I smell too often during the fall season from Bath & Body Works, because this fragrance just bathes me in juicy red delicious. It’s not exactly top drawer apple all over my body, more of fruit medley/apple-like punch. The staying power sticks to clothes. I find that most fruit scents tend to not stay around as well, so you must apply repeatedly if you want to hold on to their experience. But, such it is with fruit in general — it only lasts for a little while.
Body Fantasies is starting to discontinue many of its singular fruit “flavors” so order them while you can. The line is creating more scent medleys in, what I believe, an effort to mimic the sales and popularity of other companies that offer more mixed perfume. I wrote to the company several times to complain about this since they are one of the only places where I can find scents like “strawberry” and “raspberry” and not some generic scent with a name that doesn’t describe what the scent actually is anymore, such as “Kissing in the Rain” one of their newest creations. I was told that “Oh, we know you’ll like what we have coming”, in other words, as a consumer I have no more say in what they are producing anymore. For shame.
My favorite from BF, is the Strawberry scent, one you’ll never find of its like again, or at its price.
At least the Apple fragrance, and some of the others devoted to capturing the essence of a single note fruit fragrance, are around for purchase…. for now!
