Description

Body by Victoria is announced as a new edition by Victoria’s Secret. However, this fragrance has the same name as the editions from 2002 and 2012 (Body by Victoria 2002, Body by Victoria 2012). The new Body by Victoria launched on February 14th 2014 contains notes of crushed leaves, freesia and aquatic hyacinth (reminding us of the green composition from 2002). The perfume arrives in glass flacon with a pink ribbon, as 50 and 100ml Eau de Parfum.

The accompanying assortment of Body by Victoria includes perfumed lotion 200ml, body fragrance 200ml and gift set as a limited edition which includes fragrant lotion 100ml, perfumed bath 100ml, body fragrance 150ml and pink bag.

Don’t know about other Body fragrances of VS before, but this one is rather a very sharp, green, and powdery floral perfume. And I don’t wanna wear anything that makes me sneeze.

This new version is comparable to the original Body by Victoria (the white frosted-glass one), but they’re not the same. I tested them side-by-side, one on each wrist, and both were new bottles. The older one is less fresh, less green. It’s more soapy, more muskier. This new one has a “sweetness” the original does not have. It’s greener, more fresh.
On the skin, they both perform really well, in different ways. The original heightens a woman’s natural scent without covering it up. It flitters in and out of the background, changing during the day. The new one is more of an “opaque” scent, and doesn’t change much past the first hour. The freesia and crushed leaves really stand out in the newest version. There are hints of citrus, as well.
Both are good in their own respective ways. They both seem excellent choices for spring and summer. This new Body by Victoria, I had the complete set, but I just sold it because I needed the money. I wish I hadn’t done it. Now I’m searching for a replacement.
    They are now both discontinued.
Another plus: the lotion and body wash in this newest incarnation of Body by Victoria smell exactly like the eau de parfum. (That’s not always the case. Some fragrances don’t carry over well into lotions.)

I wore the original formula of this for years because it reminded me of the original Caress body wash scent (which I loved as a kid). The original version of this was a clean, fresh scent, but this current version is just obnoxious and headache-inducing to me.

I bought this perfume in 7 ml roller ball before and I’m in love with the smell and also staying power!! Flowery, powdery, fresh, and soft. This perfume lasts for almost 12 hours on me. I decided to buy 100 ml one and this perfume is so hard to get, i think they discontinue it, do they? 🙁 I love the bottle too, so cute

I used to like its floral/fresh scent, even if it doesnt last long. (1 or 2 hours the most)
But when i was pregnant on my 2nd child, my body chemistry declared war on this scent. Gave it to my sister. And up to now, 7 months postpartum, i still can’t stand its smell. too bad 🙁

A fresh and simple flowery scent. It’s possible to wear Body by VS on regular basis.
Pros: a nice floral scent, not too sweet or overpowering, you can wear it for any occasion
Cons: doesn’t last that long, to me it only lasted the first 2 hrs, after that nothing much, and I get bored of this perfume after using for almost 5 months, so not that bad

This past summer Vic’s had their body mists at 2 for 1 sale. My goddaughter always wears this – even had the original in her college years when it was named ‘The Fragrance.’ I got her a full sized mist and one for myself. Even though it smells divine on her (very fresh, green and clean), I cannot wear it. On me it’s cloying, like I can’t wait to wash it off! Sent mine back and exchanged for another fragrance. I wish I could wear it; I’m glad for those of you who can. Doesn’t mix w/my body chemistry 🙁

I love this perfume! I fell for it back in its first incarnation, somehow minimalist and lush simultaneously. This incarnation is spicier, a little more on the citrus side, but that fresh green and luscious freesia is still in there, with subtle muskiness at the base, and thusly I am very very happy. It is youthful, energetic, sweet and spicy, but green, always green. To me it smells like nothing so much as a sunny day in a citrus grove…by a lake…in a garden…after a refreshing rainfall. It’s one of my go-to “happifying” fragrances and I never want to have it out of rotation on my dresser.

This is one of my favorites. I had a original in the old bottle probably 5 years ago. I just bought a new bottle the other day. I actually think it smells better than the one I had previous. I have had it on over 8 hours now and I still smell it. Love it!

honestly this fragrance is just like a baby powder. You spray it and you’ll smell powdery-like and a hint of floral.

I tried Body EDP yesterday and thought it seemed familiar. It smelt like a luxury lotion at first, fresh and zesty. Then bam! On the dry down, it came to me Creed Love in White!
To those of you who love that flowers with soap and baby doll head smell, this is a reasonably priced dupe for LIW. BBV lasts more than the other VS fragrances.
A good spritzing lasts 8-10 hours on my skin. Fabulous!!!

This one smells very close to the original Body by Victoria. I loved the original but couldn’t wear it much because it made me sneeze. When I saw this new one and heard it was very similar, I decided to try it…no sneezing and it’s the same scent I loved! It’s still fresh, but less sharp than the original, and the drydown is a slightly sweeter on my skin which makes me like it better.

I bought the body spray and lotion yesterday. I have never smelt the original (but say its the same). I like it.. very fresh and a bit floral with a powdery dry down. For a body mist it is pretty strong! I like it bc ill be able to just throw it in my bag bc its plastic, can just re apply if needed throughout the day!

I got to test this today – it is essentially the same fragrance as the original Body in the white frosted bottle. The new packaging is horrible and tacky, but the fragrance is just as good. The green notes are “crushed leaves” according to the notes provided by VS and I find this accord very present in the initial spray and first five to ten minutes. Then the perfume becomes more powdery and the freesia comes out more. The drydown is a bit powdery and clean, just like the original. Lasting power is good – I am going on hour 7.
Long story short, lovers of the original Body by Victoria (including myself) can be relieved that the fragrance has remained the same. I just wish they would have stuck with the original bottle design. I detest the pink ribbon like plastic things they added now and actually loved the minimalist simplicity of the original bottle.

I spoke to three different VS reps (2 from their corporate customer service and 1 from one of their Beverly Hills stores) and apparently this is the same fragrance as the original Body by Victoria in the white bottle, though the notes listed by the company look different. I have the white bottle EDP and this new version’s body mist (not sure about the 2012 edition) and I must say they smell similar enough. If they don’t smell exactly the same, I’m just glad I found a replacement that smells close enough to the original version, which has been one of my favorite scents.

I have not smelled it yet but is this the same fragrance, just different bottle? They really confuse the matters because there was several fragrances already named “Body” but all were slightly different

Aside from the slightly tacky bottle, this is VERY nice.
It’s fresh, floral, and has a very slight sweetness to it. It’s like a more floral version of the recent VS Angel fragrance, from a couple months ago.
This is probably the most obvious freesia from the VS line, where the flowers tend to get muddled by a swirl of random fruits.
It wears well, with a slight natural indole accord making the freesia more realistic, coupled with the green notes. The water hyacinth is almost unnoticeable, unfortunately, because this could really set this fragrance off with more of an aquatic freshness.
I wish the weird “bow” would’ve been fabric instead of thin plastic. I fear that it will break easily, especially when I travel with this. Treat your bottle with care.
All the while, it’s still a nice scent. It’s my favorite incarnation of Body. It lasts three to five hours on me, and I’m excited to wear this once it gets hotter outside.

Another repackage… I liked the original packaging much better… The new bottle looks so cheesy compared to the original.
