A gorgeous, utterly unique, and somewhat abstract animalic, my first foray into this interesting house that creates perfumes inspired by movies pays off richly. The smoky leathery juice combines spicy/woody (wormwood, blackcurrant, cardamom, rhubarb, saffron, cypriol, incense, myrrh, amber, birch, cedar) and animalic (civet and leather) notes for a truly mysterious and beautiful aura. It aptly captures the vibe of the 1966 Antonioni movie (a murder mystery set in the fashion world of swinging sixties London) in that it is both gleefully hedonistic and by equal measure also completely puzzling in its mixture of notes. It goes through many iterations on my skin switching between slippery leather and some undefined smoky spiciness. Unisex with moderate to slightly high sillage, projection and longevity. A triumph of modern perfumery. Enjoy!

You’ve just sloppily blown up a balloon and tied it up. You decide to slam your nose into the sweet and skanky spit, sweat, and powdery rubber/latex where your mouth and fingers had just been. Blow Up by La Folie a Plusieurs.

Interesting perfume. It opens quite animal-like, civet I think it must be, somewhat a hint of urine. Lots of leather, or the representation of leather for all I know. It smells very sensual, the rough type of sensual. In the middle it becomes softer, the civet turns into a musk and there are some sweet tones, but not gourmand sweet, just like a natural sweet skin-like smell. Very attractive perfume. The only thing is, the dry down doesn’t seem as original as the opening to me, I wish some of the extremities of the opening would have lasted longer.
