Description

Paco Rabanne launches Black XS fragrance in 2005 and Black XS for Her in 2007. This line has become very popular and had many flankers like Black XS L’Exces (for him and her) from 2012, Black XS L’Aphrodisiaque (for him and her) from 2013 and Black XS Potion (for him and her) from 2014. At the end of 2014, for the holiday season, Paco Rabanne introduces two new limited edition fragrances inspired by the icons of rock music.

The feminine fragrance bears the name of American singer Debbie Harry, famous being front woman of the punk band Blondie. Black XS Be a Legend Debbie Harry is created by Émilie Coppermann as the strong and addictive scent for women features hellebore, black vanilla and patchouli – ‘the defining scent of the seventies, peace and love and beatnik.’

It is available in a light – pink bottle of the original shape with the inscription of the name as 80 ml Eau de Toilette.
The nose behind this fragrance is Emilie (Bevierre) Coppermann.

I love it, smells very atypical! Not a blindbuy, as not everyone will love it. Rose and oud, this is perfect. It smells more mature than the original Black Xs, not fruity at all. Moderate sillage, moderate longevity. It has a masculine note somehow.

Terrible stuff…smells like a men deodorant or shower gel. No oud, no vanilla, no patchouli… only some chemical rose scent mixed with some really cheap spices. I really hate it. Although I bind bought it, I was expecting something more original and more intense… instead I got this. And on top of it, it is really weak. Overall, a cheap perfume that does not even deserve the slightest attention.

First a stunning bouquet, then a vibrant sexy woman who, a bit later turns to a calmed-down, elegant lady…Love it!

Got mine today and was deeply dissapointed, mostly at myself, as i blindbought this scent. I know that me and oudh-scents not goes along well but as many said that the oudh in this one was not so heavy and i love the predesessors dearly i thought “why not”.I got it today and it’s a total oudh-bomb, smells like 10.000 others with oud/rose/patchouli/amber/vanilla-combo. Sorry Paco R, this has to move on…

My friend offered this one for swap.I wasn’t sure about it.I imagined it to be a heavy Arabic perfume.oud, rose, patchouli and saffron are all famous elements for an Arabic type scent which I usually dislike.I can’t tolerate slightest hint of oud and recently I had bought more than enough rose perfumes so I decided to receive it in swap and then exchange it in another swap with my other friend.but I had to try it first.
Well there’s nothing Arabic like here.it’s not a heavy scent either.as I sprayed it I could smell a pretty, sweet rose with fruity nuances.soon it becomes sweeter and I can smell patchouli and vanilla too.actually I love, love, love this gorgeous scent.it’s like a sweet fruitchouli blended with vanilla-rose combo, like an iris-less version of Valentino donna.I can also feel something powdery here.I have never met a perfume this much different with my imaginations
All the notes are so well blended.patchouli won’t bother any patchouli-hater and vanilla doesn’t cover other notes.it’s so beautiful, delicious, feminine that I can’t get enough.when I bought original black XS I expected to love it(mostly for it’s cacao)but I don’t.I was not looking for a love here but I find it one of the best rose fragrances I ever tried.a gorgeous, modern, almost gourmand rose with powdery nuances
I was waiting for oud to showup and ruin this joy but it never intruded.it dries down to a gentle Rosey vanilla, less sweet, very likable and easy to wear
I think this isn’t going to be a successful perfume and won’t sell much because it will disappoint people who try it looking for a unique, gothic oudy rose and people who would love a sweet, simple, soft and delicious scent won’t dare give it a try, judging it by it’s notes
It’s the first time I’m wearing it but I already know that I like it a lot and this is a keeper for sure
It’s good for mild to cool weather, day and night.my favorite part is first hour of application when it’s sweet, strong and playful.however it’s soft subtle dry down is nice too
It seems to have very good projection in it’s sweet phase but after an hour sillage is almost soft.I will edit to add about it’s longevity
I also like it’s bottle however I think it’s not matching the scent
    ❤❤❤❤

Too powdery for my nose… Does not remind me of Debbie Harry in any way… Debbie is more aggressive and sensual and powerful and complex than this generic smell…

A lil on the sweet side for my taste, and comes across as cloyingly girly in this 100 degree weather. Putting it aside till cooler months arrive.

Really low lasting power and it smells like a fabric softner.
The 2nd Black was the best.

I like the scent! The oud is easy to digest here. The sillage is moderate. Its not dark, nor is it gothic but sexy and alluring. “Warm spicy” defines it well!

I need more scents with hellebore… I didn’t really know I loved that note before I tried this one and La Perla J’aime la nuit.
I also love rose and oud, and restrained versions of vanilla and patchouli.
With all that I love this more and more as time goes by, even if it seems this is made for younger girls. Oh well, I’m still younger than Debbie Harry.
My only complaint is that I wish it would last longer.

Mmmmm, this is so lovely, georgous and girly. Not for mature women, but for young rock&roll girls. So soft powdery. I never tried a parfume that has such a perfect balance. I’m already sad that this is limited..

this is a lovely scent. having not tried XS..i have nothing to compare it to. nor does it resemble any of my other rose scents (and esp not Agent Diamond Dust…not even a little bit like that, sorry.) plus i don’t detect the saffron in this.
i have tested this twice now…it is sweet, slightly powdery and patch on me..and dries down to a nice floral and rose with patch base.
strangely though, on my skin…there’s an “apple peeling” note in there.
(i peel my little one’s apples sometimes and it’s the smell i get each time open my kitchen bin, if there are peelings in there. weird.
not unpleasant, but not something i wish to wear really.)
perhaps it’s only me that notices it.
i think i detect oud (if that’s the vague wood note i smell)..i don’t detect vanilla, the patch and rose/floral seem to take centre stage one me.
this is still sexy and rosey.
the sillage is moderate and it lasted on me for 4-5 hours, turning into skin scent after about 2 hours.
comes in a massive 80ml bottle. that should last you a good while!
EDIT: i swear there’s some fruit in this and i get a pepper note in the opening too.
Ok, i am going to test Black XS tomorrow…as i swear lots the notes for that are what i’m getting with this! and it really doesn’t match the profile above fro me…barely at all.

I love the concept because I love Debbie Harry & Iggy Pop, as for the fragrance – we’ll sniff

Absolutely love it. Lasts long on fabric…Arabian Prestige Rose rock´n´roll! Love Debbie Harry….

Very pretty like a soft version of Versace Woman crossed with Arabian Oud Prestige Rose.
Lovely and lasts well on the skin with moderate sillage.

It’s really like a light shadow of her predecessor mixed with the Black XS Potion edition. The head is weak, I can say the perfume is almost linear and the drydown remains similar all the way. Vanilla and patchouli are undetectable for me, hellebore flower and oud are the determining notes, but they’re subtle as well. The whole scent is light, OK for daytime wear, less strong than the other ones and there’s not much to talk about it.
Maybe it’s good for those who doesn’t like heady scents, but would appreciate this still “pacorabanne-ish” small sister 🙂

I tryed this one before i looked up the note , And first thing i notised was the Oud . TThis is not a typicly XS parfume . this to me smells like floral oud , just a slight sweetnes ,Patchouli yes , but you would imagin this to be much sweeter knowing the original and follow up flankers . This is not bad . But for me who cant realy take Oud . it is a no
