Oh it’s so delicious ! Surely I am a heavy coffee drinker but this is just yummy. Very similar to Vanille Mockha from Comptoir Sud Pacifique . Sadly the lasting power and projection are just awful . A few minutes and it’s gone…. I with they would make it in a decent concentration , because the scent itself is wonderful .

When I was a little kid – my parents had a liquor cabinet that was built into a wooden hutch. Once in a while –when I was really bored (most likely the in the dog-days of late summer OR a rainy afternoon) , I would open the cabinet to snoop around–nothing more. Demeter Black Russian smells EXACTLY like the inside of that liquor cabinet! This brought back many memories! Longevity is weak as all heck but Demeter I still love you!

I don’t get much coffee, but rather ‘coffee flavoring’ that you use in cooking. I was a barista for years so I’m biased though having been utterly inundated with the ground coffee scent for parts of my life 😉
As others have said this is surprisingly creamy, not sharp at all. The adjectives “boozy/sweet” suit it much more than “alcoholic/sharp” as far as the scent’s feel. Like a lot but not sure of longevity yet. I’m a bit worried it’ll have that waxy drydown that some oilier-scented fragrances dry down to on my skin (they all start smelling like beeswax on me; this was my problem w/ Espresso Royale too), but for the price I’d keep it just for that opening burst that makes me want popcorn!

Creamy, buttery, coffee-flavored liqueur! In the same vein of Bailey’s or Kahlua, you can almost feel that warmness-before-it-hits-the-bottom sensation as you’re smelling this.
It’s really interesting to transfer a drink into fragrance-form, this doesn’t disappoint. I imagined it to smell very sickening, and overly full of alcohol – but it’s more of a creamy gourmand, by a long shot! Delicious!
Unsure about the wearability – it’s probably what baristas working at Starbucks leave the mall smelling like. If you’re into that, here is the fragrance for you!!

Black Russian starts with milky creamy, coffee liqour-y smell with a touch of fresh sweetness. I was nearly gonna say it’s spot on; however since the initial ‘black Russian’ essence gets masked by the rather thick coffee flavoured candy scent, I worried that the perfume might go to a warm foody direction, and the worry is true.
The Demeter Black Russian is quite linear after the initial relatively truer-to-Black-Russian start. The linear scent is not bad, as I said above, it’s the coffee flavoured candy scent, which somehow does make me think of cola in Black Russian. However, this Black Russian is a bit too foody, sweet, creamy, gourmand and even a little bit Christmas-y; it lacks the sweet freshness, the fizzy bubbly refreshing feel a typical Black Russian gives me.
Overall, it’s nice, a slightly less alcoholic approach to Black Russian and I guess it makes the perfume quite wearable, especially in cooler days when you crave something syrup-y from a café.

this is just another fun scent from demeter. this is milky/creamy and sweet, but not sickening. and you can smell the liqour in this. i dont find this over-powering or sharp at all and i actually find it feminine. it lasts a little longer than some of the other demeters, but still not great longevity. i’m in a playful mood today, so i picked a playful scent. i’d give it a 6 out of 10.

Black Russian the drink is basically cola and Kahula ( or Tia Maria) Coffee liqueur .So this frag is spot on !

I really like this perfume. I’m not very good at describing notes, but I smell a hint of chocolate/coffee. There is a strong presence of the alcohol/smoke. I’m not sure how true to the drink this is I don’t know what Black Russian suppose to smell like, but I really enjoy this perfume.
