I don’t like oils with musk or amber. If an oil is called OUD it should have some of that ingredient in it. Although the price is good, it doesn’t justify the purchase.

I purchased a small bottle of this ” Black Oudh ” Attar Oil , it was under $15 , I have a couple Oudh based Scentuals , and love them . I figured for such a small amount , why not . It came earlier today , I could not wait to take my morning shower and give this a whole hearted try , I’m used to a spritz or two on my clothing , but impossible with an oil { you knew that , lol } I however did not know this was a rollerball top , which after removing the top and inhaling this wonderful Lusty , ” Woody Oudh ” One of the first notes I get is a Cedar Note , and that is one note I’m not crazy about as a main note . I feel this is more a male scent , at least on me I took away from the first roller a heady musky man scent . It is not a bad scent , not at ta’ll , I’m just used to a floral or fruity dry down , and this is not that . I’ll probably gift this to a male friend , that enjoys what this is all about ~ I do not regret purchasing , just glad the cost was low key and did not hurt my wallet ~ If you get a chance to sample or have a friend with , give a try , you might wear it much better than I ~ Cute little bottle though ~ /=^ } ~
P.s I do have a few Cedar Scented , but the Cedar is not the main note , sometimes I can’t even smell that it is Cedar , but this is a bit heavy on Cedar for me ~ Whew ~

This is an overcast day in old growth rainforest, distilled and bottled. Damp wood and leaves, that decay that makes rainforests smell so damn good, that you hunger for it, if you have been absent a long time. The dry down has a violet element that makes me think of twilight in the deep scrub. Spooky-beautiful.
The initial projecion is decent but it fades out quickly and the longevity is underwhelming for an oil based scent. It’s so beautiful though, it can be forgiven these issues.

I blind bought this attar because of its low price and the list of notes. By reading the name, I didn’t think this could be another Arabian copy of a Western scent (that took inspiration from Arabian perfume traditions, in this case).
But, this perfume smells much like its expensive name twin from LM Parfums. But much much softer, not as dark and not as smokey. Going by the name it is clear that any resemblance to the 200€ fragrance by LM Parfums scentwise is not unintented. It is a knockoff and doesn’t even make a secret of this circumstance!
But it is not an appropriate substitute, if you love the costlier twin. This is more for those who found the original too heavy, too dark and too loud.
This cpo has the resinous and smokey qualities of the oud acchord, but tamed down. The amber isn’t all that sweet, showing quite some dark labdanum in it.
There are spicy notes, that I can’t tell what spice can be blamed for, maybe this is the ‘herbal notes accord’, e.g. like laurel leaves smell spicy but are counted as herbal.
The cedar note get’s more and more prominent in the heart and base notes. One of the things that are different from the LM Black Oud. But while I didn’t experience the cedar there very strong, I have to admit, it is there and it is more or less the same cedar as in Al Haramain’s take. But in the original it is overpowered by the resins and oud and incense, so harder to detect.
Sillage on my skin isn’t good unfortunetaly. It doesn’t radiate, just sits close on the skin.
Longevity is moderate.
If you compare them one by one, the original is thicker, more intense, more complex showing more smokey and resinous qualities. It lasts longer and by far projects better.
The Arabian take is smoother, woodier, costs less than 10% of the original. More office friendly btw.
It could still be worth to own both fragrances if you are into that kind of scents. At least if the knockoff shows better sillage on your skin than it does on mine.
It does not come in one of those rollerball flask, btw, which to me is a plus, as I think it’s easier to put it on skin with a glass stick applicator. The rollerballs often do not work propperly.

A very aromatic blend of notes that are well combined and work really well together. I expected it to be spicier to be honest but for most normal noses it is spicy enough. Main players here are cedar, musk and patch. Inspire the Amber note there is little sweetness and a hefty input of freshness. I find it to be more on the masculine side and an excellent choice as a summer scent due to a good, gentle green accord. However, where is the oud (never mind Black….)?.. If there is it must be on the light side and not the heavy, sultry, pungent sort I am totally addicted to. It is still a lovely, woody musky scent with all the hallmarks of quality and depth of the Haramain brand iam pleased to say. OK sillage but longevity great! Most recommendable!

So I would say if White oudh (by al haramain) is the day scent, this would be the night scent. IMO.
Much darker, more Spicer, and there is something quite mesmerizing about this one. It develops over time, and like white oudh, it floats around you, enveloping you in this middle eastern mystery. I dectect patchouli, in the base but there is this smokiness, that stays throughout the oil. This lasts and lasts 8 hours plus! Lovely, beautiful, intoxicating, inviting. Great for Winter, although I suspect this will be very alluring on a hot summer evening too.
Thank you fragrantica for adding this little gem to your database:-)
