I’m a fan of futuristic scents and aesthetics, so Blood Concept has always intrigued me as a line, but ultimately I feel like their perfumes are way over-priced for something that never strikes me as remarkable.
That being said: I got a round of decants of the Black Collection forever ago, and Blood Concept O stuck with me. It’s just a very versatile leather. Bright enough by the yuzu to be a day perfume, soft without being powdery, and complicated by notes like hemp. It’s not necessarily incredibly layered, nor does it “pop” a lot, but it’s a well-rounded wear. I just kept going back the sample again and again because I liked it so much. This week I was fortunate enough to find one on deep markdown (75%) so now I finally can enjoy this one thoroughly.
Blood Concept has made the perplexing branding decision to repeat the same 4 blood types with various series (original, black COLLECTION–which is different from the black SERIES, and the red series…), so if you’re investigating this, make sure you’re looking for the taller thin bottle, not the short squat one.
I haven’t tried the newer series like the Red Series or the Black Series, but out of the original silver bottles and the Black Collection, this “O” is hands down my favorite. Worth checking out for those who are after everything leather.

Blood Concept Black Series Type O (which is the version pictured here) isn’t a dupe for Tuscan Leather. I think people may be getting this confused with the Type O sold in the regular Blood Concept line, which is packaged in a silver bottle. As both fragrances are titled identically on Fragrantica, it would be an easy mix up to make.
This opens with sharp citrus, but the top notes are only apparent for 15-20 minutes, at best.
Cannabis is present in the middle section, but it is closer to a hemp note than a Cheech and Chong smoke cloud. There is a slight earthy hint, and a soft, rather well behaved leather. Unfortunately, this combination bears an uncanny resemblance to Raid branded insecticide, with a few of the sharper edges taken off to make it suitable for perfumery uses.
Drydown is soft and slightly woody amber, nothing of interest to note there.
Rather short lived on me (about 4 hours from top to drydown) and stays close to skin.
Great concept and sleek packaging, but (to quote Gertrude Stein) there’s no THERE there as far as the actual scent goes
A pleasant but unremarkable fragrance, that punches way below the quality and innovation you can get from other niche houses of similar price points.

oh my goodness, this is really special.
dark, subtle, leather, strange notes, it is almost ominous, if I can wax poetic for a moment.
I got a wee sample and must have more.
I am really stoked to wear it more and to share it with my fiancee.
I do love masculine and unisex scents, this one is a keeper.
    days later…
    I still love this.
the opening is fabulous, it softens nicely, it is plenty leathery but in a nice natural way with none of the rubbery note that other leather frag’s have. ::cough:: Bvlgari Black::cough::
    very wearable.

yesterday went to Henry Bendell store in NY and tried Type O in a silver bottle – it is very similar to TF Tuscan Leather – I bought it since it was much cheaper. Then I went to TF store and tested Tuscan Leather – it is much more sweeter and more intense – I LOVE IT!!! If you smell them together side by side you will see a difference but if you smell them separately you will not notice a big difference. Type O still smells nice and reminds me of TF TL but it is not the same (very similar but not exact copy). I will buy TF TL too since this is the only perfect leather that makes me melt.

Elegant, dark and just a little kinky.
Beautiful made, with a mix of hemp, carrot seeds, woods and leather. If you liked Tom Ford’s tuscan leather you’ll love this!

This is a cold and elegant scent. Suits perfectly for formal occasions. It is a nice power scent with smoke and herbal notes. If this scent was a facial expression this would be the poker face. Love it !

You have to give props to those at Blood Concept. They have some unique fragrances and don’t seem beholden to any popular conceptions of scents. Aside from ‘A’ in this Dark line, which I decided to purchase as soon as I smelled it, O is probably my next favorite in this series.
On the opening I can smell right away the cannabis. Cannabis and the carrot seeds are the heart of this fragrance. Upon closer inspection I can smell the blood orange and yuzu, but they take a backseat to the cannabis. The base notes emerge several hours later and give me a general impression of some type of wood note.
Basically, overall this smells like hemp to me with some other light notes here and there but it’s still very nice.

wait a minute… i guess no one knows about Blood concept perfumes, they do have the silver line, and the black line, this black perfume is not the one that smells like Tuscan leather, the silver bottle IS the one that smells like Tom Ford’s tuscan leather and Charriol’s Royal leather. this one smells completely different, and i have absolutely no idea what it smells like.
he do have rare tastes specially the black line, as one smells like horse stables, and another like peanut butter jelly. but the O blood concept silver bottle is quite good though and in my opinion smells much better than Tom Ford’s Tuscan leather.

Smells so similar to TF Tuscan Leather once it settles on me that I had to pop my Fragrantica cherry to review it. I guess this could be a slightly cheaper & perhaps a quirkier option to TF TL if that’s what you were after?

Third time wearing. Agree w Gikeshowe, tuff chemical citrus and acrid at the opening, quickly (mercifully) burns off and morphs into a smoother pleasing, mostly leathery, casual wear scent. Much more interesting take on leather than BC-O, but nowhere near TF TL. Fine for work as it sits tightly, but wouldn’t reapply there unless you want to end the meeting due to invisible exterminators working in the room. For potheads hoping for something here, forget it, it’s not there at the “collegiate” level (try Nassamato BA). Interesting enough, but simple blend that leans towards the cheaper side to me, and def not anywhere near the quality or longevity level of TF TL. Seems like a lot of money for shallow depth, but I’m not one to impose my value proposition on others (see review for Clive V).
Not gonna be a FB for me.

It’s a strange & very unlikely idea , but the truth is I like all the notes in the Blood Concept Black Series especially the very unusual notes like ( cannabis, carrot seed , mandragore, angelica seed , gun powder , Inoki accord ) , honestly I CAN HARDLY WAIT 2 TEST THEM !
P.S. I wish I was rich so I could have gone 2 the Florence in the course of Fragranze 11 .

Insecticide. The compelling kind that you know you shouldn’t take a whiff of but want to anyway. Then, it becomes a leather, more interesting, harder to describe. Which doesn’t excuse the schlock used to sell the darn thing whose pretention is enough to discredit this line but sales shtick aside, this does become an interesting leather, with coffee nuances and breathy nuances and I didn’t put much on really just one spray so will write more when I do, but for now it gets a thumbs up for being intriguing and for morphing and making nods in the direction many scents I’m familiar with, without treading any well worn paths. I’ll certainly wear this again, and more of it. This is certainly a unisex fragrance, I’m a man and it smells just spiffing on me, at least so far, allowing for the strange stench as it first unfurls.
