I was reading the other reviews here to see if anybody had the same impression of VIP that I had. But no, nobody did.
Maybe it’s because I’m more touchy to pepper than others, but Bijan VIP instantly reminded me of Marc Jacobs Bang – though a more gentlemanly version, say a Trumpers scent or Beckham Classic superimposed on Bang’s pepper style scent.
The scent has strength on me for four hours or so.
Regards.

This smells so adorable…but there´s a huge donwside and it´s the longevity of this cologne. It doesn´t last more than 30-40 mins on my skin and after 1 hour it´s gone without slightest trail left. But I still love that scent and I really envy those people who can smell it after several hours. (I can only get some projection and lasting power if I spray generously on my clothes).

A very light fragrance. This is a skin scent so don’t expect any silage. The most obvious notes are sage, suede and lemon. Combined effect is is a vague pencil shavings aroma. It’s not unpleasant but it’s not worth buying even at its cheap price.

This cheap little scent is as sharp as a razor
I get monster sillage and longevity on my skin
A certain winter scent in my eyes ( and nose )
A deffo try for you Bijan-VIP Virgins out there

It looks to be a copy of Quorum Silver, but Quorum is stronger and more sophisticated

I bought this for just under £8,a blind buy gone wrong. The bottle reminds me of these jelly sweets that are shaped like a babies dummy that we have here in England. As for the VIP,in this instance it stands for Very Invisible Perfume, lol!

I get a lot of wood, probably cedar, in the opening, but that doesn’t last long, thankfully. The drydown comes quickly and is like one soft, highly-blended (but not “blob”-like) accord. The idea may have been to create a scent dominated by iris but not in an obvious way. I can smell a hint of the “sea accord” and there may be some amber (because I get a heliotrope type of quality). It’s not sweet (or there is just a bare hint) and it’s not really woody at this point (the wood just firms it up structurally, it seems, without coming across as wood-like). There is no major herbal, spicy, or fruity aspect to the drydown. I would like to get some suede but I can’t detect it, unless it is super mild and helping to soften up the iris a bit. Fortunately, to me, this doesn’t come across as “soapy” or in any way “synthetic.” Projection (“sillage”) is low to moderate with a couple sprays to the chest. I guess this is meant for “intimate” situations, and I’d call it unisex. In fact, I wouldn’t be surprised if women liked it more (for themselves) if a test was conducted and nobody knew anything about this scent (and it was in a plain bottle with no label). I’ll update later if anything changes, but right now I am hoping this one will fill the role of a strong iris scent that is neither soapy nor sharp/metallic. Also, it might be very good for layering if you want to soften up a scent without making it floral, sweeter, or heavier. Nicely done, if this was the idea !
UPDATE: Spraying more helps bring out the suede note, and a hint of a vanillic quality.

This one might be the most elegant in the entire Bijan line that I have. But it’s a different kind of elegance as in Bijan men, for instance, which is a luxurious classic, however, with too much power, typical from the 80’s, almost in the edge. This VIP doesn’t have this aggressive characteristic. It has a timeless and pleasant dna.
It opens with a good sage and a bastard lemon, almost unnoticeable. The secret, in my opinion, lives in the heart notes (pink pepper, geranium, suede, etc.), that really last through the entire evolution on my skin and are rich, with pretty and natural nuances. The suede is absolutely fantastic! In the end, basic woods – sandal and cedar – mixed with a beautiful guaiac wood and the oris root (aka Iris Florentina), which resembles the violets aroma.
It has a professional profile and can also be worn at night (not in dance floors, please!).
Projection and lasting power are not issues in Bijan fragrances.

Just bought this today for my boyfriend. He’s been wearing it for a few hours and it smells surprisingly great. I was unsure about how he’d like it or how it would initially smell (though researching it on here did help me 😀 ). At first sniff I get a smokey cedar and leather scent, underlined with citrus. It’s a very masculine and warm scent. On my boyfriends skin chemistry it smells like sandalwood, pepper, and musk. It’s not overly powerful but its noticeable and nice. Overall, as an scent sniffer/observer with my nose (haha) I’d say the cologne is a great bargain for what you pay (I paid $15 for a 3.3 oz bottle @ Ross).

This is not a knockout scent by any standards, but it is a pleasant experience. Its got a tropical vibe due to the citrus notes and it gives you this feeling as if you just emerge from a body of water. Additionally, the woody note that lingers throughout is reminiscent of Tommy Bahama but not nearly as cedar focused; more like an oakmoss than a cedar really. All in all, its a light fragrance and it doesn’t seem to be as long lasting or project as well as the other Bijans I’ve encountered (Nude & Wicked) but I’d still say its an ok cheapie. If you don’t mind applying an extra spray or two, plus reapplying after 4-5hrs, then you’ll be content to sport this during the approaching summer months. Definitely a spring to summer fragrance.

I read in the latest review for the women’s VIP, that it adjusted in a nutty kind of way on the skin. This one appears to do the same. I like it, considering it’s different. In the opening, it’s behavior comes off as a male version of “L”, by Gwen Stefani.

I love this scent for my husband. Very masculine. Not sure if the bottle design is manly enough- but love the cologne.
