Description

Blumarine is launching a new fragrance for women in September 2009, named after one of the widely used Italian words – Bellissima! The new Bellissima arrives in a glass flacon with pink liquid which represents romantic side of every woman.

Perfumer of Bellissima composition is Sophie Labbe of IFF. This floral-musk concept incorporates dew drops, ginger, grapefruit and orange in top notes. A romantic, floral heart introduces a bouquet of peony and passionflower, while base notes seduce you with sandalwood, musk, cashmere and vanilla blossom.

Perfume flacon was created by Thierry de Baschmakoff. It is made of massive glass and decorated with an elegant, cylindrical, glass stopper.

The fragrance is available in three sizes; 30, 50 and 100 ml EDP, along with an accompanying body care assortment which encompasses 200 ml perfumed bath, 200 ml body lotion, 100 ml deo spray and 200 ml body cream.
Bellissima was created by Sophie Labbe and Celine Barel.

Once it settles in, to me, it smells like a sweeter version of a snuggle dryer sheet, just not as loud. Safe, unobtrusive scent.
Update: I had a sample of this fragrance and after several hours it dried down into a cloying sweet gut turning smell. I ended up washing it off and changing clothes…..uh No. Price on a big bottle is attractive but for me, a waste of money, blech.

Nice, preety nice and kind of innocent. Peony, cashmere wood and ornage – mostly i felt that.
I tried it just once at perfumery store. So just a first impression review. It did not encourage me to buy a bottle.

Agreed. Very similar to D&G The one less sweet version!

This fragrance is surprisingly long lasting, I would say a good 6-7 hours, albeit quite subtle with medium sillage.
Pretty without any outstanding notes, a good day time fragrance that is feminine and powdery. I personally cannot discern any citrus worth acknowledging, it’s just a lovely soft powdery floral. And there’s nothing wrong with that at all.
If you can find a tester online (which is what I did), then you’ve got yourself a perfectly lovely day time fragrance at a bargain basement price. This will not offend anyone because it’s ladylike and composed.

    Cloying, heavy, not airy, generic.
This is not a bad smelling perfume, it could be nice worn in very small doses, but it seems to take my air and Killing my head. It smells so vanillic generic with some flowers. The Citrus is strong in the opening and it giives a false idea of a fresh Citrus scent, but it goes away quite quickly, leaving a brick of synthetycal misc-masc floral-vanillic on the heavy side.
Iy could be a better scent if made more accurately, but this way it’s just headache in a bottle. Longlasting.

This is another fragrance that I cannot seem to purchase on its official website (there is no other way to buy this in my country!). There seems to be no option such as ‘add to cart’ or ‘buy now’. Its such a shame because the bottle is gorgeous and the notes look well balanced enough to make this a good casual daily scent. Another reviewer mentioned that this as a good dupe for YSL In Love Again which is hard to find and very expensive in my country. This definitely should be more widely available!

Sweet, citrusy lightly floral scent. Peony is very dominant, but still rather nice in this one. I like it fresh.
Citrus notes are also easy to detect.
Nice enough, but I expected something more spicy. I can’t smell any ginger.
I have nothing against it, but I’m not going to buy it for sure.

I don’t usually post reviews, being that some perfumes aren’t great, but are not offensive either, and could be enjoyed by someone, just not myself.
That said, as much as I dislike blasting anything, this is one huge disappointent.
First off, it’s marked as a citrus floral aquatic with spicy undertones. Non of that is true in my book.
Given the name, I expected there to be some powder to add delicate femininety, but this is too much! To the point of being headache inducing. I’ve been wearing it for 3 hours now, siliage (Unfortunatly) seems to be going strong, but but I literally am overwhelmed by a cloying musty “Johnson’s Baby Powder” scent… Only worse.
NO notes of citris on my skin, nothing “Aquatic”, nor white flowers. Just low-quality, but heavy and dry powder. Nothing sexy, romantic, lively… Just nothing.

I don’t have this one in my collection. Found it in my sister in laws drawer. I always use it when I sleep over before I go to sleep. She changed her mind about it and neglected it. It’s true when ppl say it’s something u smelled before. It’s an easy signature one! Nothing offensive. Soft personality with great staying power. Lots of whiffs still after 12 hours. Don’t be shy to spray it all over your chest and one your tummy. It’s not a rude one 🙂 musk and wood can’t be but discreet and gentle. I like it, I like pulling it out of that drawer…..

If you want the baby powder scent you need to get the edp, this one smells bright grapefruit in the beginning, which is quite pleasant if you like it, that problem is that about an hour later it has turned into some kind of insecticide smell, intoxicating in a really bad way. A huge difference from the edp which opens balmy and powdery and remains powdery throughout. Sillage is quite acceptable and so is longevity.

Nice and soft, flowery, good for anywhere and any age groups, not offensive, pleasant. This perfume disappeared from the stores (Nordstrom), I have a new bottele in the box if anybody is interested

The bottle is so pretty and elegant with the round glass top and pale pink juice. First spray is very citrusy, probably from the grapefruit. It tones down a little and I can smell the peony. Then it becomes softer and powdery. The sandalwood gives it a veil of creaminess. Very feminine fragrance. I like it!

It had overtones of insect repellant. Neither my daughter nor myself liked this fragrance. I normally love citrus fragrances so had high hopes for this one. However, it wasn’t a clean citrus smell but more like a mosquito repellant candle.

    ‘High maintenance’ in a bottle!!
This perfume was a big disapointment. I would classify it as an oriental perfume that is very similar to Tribue by United Colors of Beneton. I ended up giving it to my mom who then regifted it to her sister.

Superfresh & wonderful. Light and airy and yet intensive around me. On my skin topnote gives a lot of citrus, base gives great musk and sandalwood, with some flowery notes. Perfect for every-day-use. Longlasting om my skin.
Superfräsch & härlig. Lätt och luftig men ändå tydlig runt mig. På min hud ger toppnoten fräsch citrus och basen ger musk och sandelträ med blommiga inslag. Perfekt varje-dag-doft. Håller länge på min hud.

OOoouuh! i found this Baby at my local WInners in Canada i freaked when i tried it on when arrived at home i got this for a great price & blind buy!! At first spray it was *Loooove** Italians knows how to sing real *Looove. Lovely! sophisticated scent, soft poeny (not to loud) very discret & sophisticad as i said lol!! i love the end of this sublime fragance it’s powdery (just perfectly dosed) i haven’t scent any grapefruit but i really don’t mind, i would of like a little more vanilla scent noticable. I would put this Lovely fragance in the same basket of Bvlgari Femme or Rose essentielle It really sophistica not to disturbing. i’ve only tried one spray & the power staying was heu! maybe a little poor but it was ok! 4-5 hours!
    nice scent for sentimental lady

I really do like this but it’s a bit too heavy for me. Just one sniff gives me a headache. Other than that, I think it’s lovely! A very powdery, watery, floral feminine fragrance that is perfect for daytime. I wish there was an eau de toilette formula that wasn’t as strong. Longevity isn’t very long; probably around 4-5 hours on my skin.

i’m sorry but i truly dislike this. it smells like toilet wash in the sense that it was hard and acidic like bleach? it was a real smack in the face when i sniffed my sample and i tried to give it a second chance but it smacked me again!(smack i.e huge rush of sharp detergent like substance that caused eye watering). my apologies to those who love it.I am sure it suits different types of body chemistry and someone out there must smell great with it. However it reminds me too vividly of hospital floors and I would prefer not to wear work on me. It’s a beautiful bottle though.

Bellissima is pretty, feminine and gentle perfume with a friendly and pleasant personality. I am thinking about a charming girl from a small town, sweet and happy, who enjoys simple things in life. There is absolutely nothing dramatic about this scent but it is lovely and pleasant to wear everyday or to give as a gift.
Bellissima is a simple floral scent with a hint of citrus and sheer, lovely wood base. I usually like citrus openings and this one is so nice. The citrus notes are tender and refreshing. The scent develops into a peony bouquet with a bit of passion flower. I know that many reviewers mentioned passion flower as the main note but to me this is a big and lovely bouquet of peonies. Thankfully I do not find it synthetic or boring as peony note in many other perfumes. It is nice and the light citrus freshness from the top notes floats into the heart and makes this perfume airy and fresh. There is a slight powdery note in the peony bouquet but it does not ruin the scent. It just adds cuteness to the scent – like a cosmetic accessory on a vanity table beside the bouquet of peonies. The base notes are light but pleasant woods. The sillage is close to the skin but it works with the coy personality of this perfume and the scent lasts for a while.
Overall score 7/10. This is a lovely everyday scent. It works well in warmer weather, especially in spring. I recommend it if you prefer girly, floral scents with a gentle personality.

stop fooling, there is no single rose in this perfume, what are you talking about a rose bouguet or similarities to paul smith rose perfume nore there is any green note in it.
it is a feminine, very clean scent (without scratchy citrus notes or overbaring green notes).
i can feel here a really intense passionflower, which i do love very much on perfumes, and the peony is also very prominent. the perfume has in instant refreshing and living up blast with grapefruit and ginger, then it becomes sweet velvety and creamy, some hints of vanilla, not sickengly sweet or overbearing, just a tad and silky csahmere wood lingers in perfect harnony with the musky base… musk is a bit sultry and powdery, still paired with the pureness and innocence of the beautiful exotic floweraroma from the heart… quite sexy but subtle. very nice sillage, longivity i don t know yet but seems to be very okay!! thumbs up for this nice lil’ fragrance! bellissima suits its juice perfect.
Sophie Labbe is always cosntructing such soft and harmonic very feminine compositions. this one is no exeption, great job!
reminds me strongly to CK eternity summer 2010 but this one is far better !

This is a very pretty fragrance to wear if you like grapefruit. I personally dislike grapefruit in my perfumes. It always smells synthetic. I can definitely smell aquatic notes and a touch of peony as well. I was surprised that I loved the drydown. The grapefruit toned way down, and what was left on my skin was like some kind of sweet hard candy, but light enough that it doesn’t smell gourmand in any way. I have to say that out of all the grapefruit perfumes I’ve ever smelled, I think Bellissima is the most well-crafted, classy, and beautiful.
edit: after reading more reviews, I am adding that IMO Bellissima smells nothing like The One.

Longlasting veil of flowers that seems of very others but is still different of all of them.
It`s not a garden of roses, this is a rose`s bouquet gifted to someone that you care about!

Bellissima doesn’t smell like anything else in my collection. It also doesn’t smell like it’s a stand out original ~and yet~I think this may be a deceptive impression.
This is quickly becoming a “go~to” scent for me. Not because it’s conveniant or inoffensive but because I find it irresistable. I love love love the fresh grapefruit opening. I don’t normally love this note but it’s done spectacularly here. It’s softened in all the right places and yet remains the star note on my skin throughout it’s dry down. The passionflower blends w/the grapefruit and keeps it tangy while the base notes usher in that downy soft background. Bellissima manages both a tart and fresh feeling as well as having a comfort to it. This is where it captures me. Until this beauty~I’d yet to find a one that could pull this off like she can.
I find her exquisitely feminine and very easy to wear. Sillage is a 6/10 for me. Longevity I’d put at about 5 hours. On the one hand I’d love for it to last a bit longer~on the other it’s an complete pleasure to get to respray and start w/the top notes all over again. I love the way this makes me feel. A pick me up of a scent while at the same time managing to invite a snuggle. I think I may actually end up w/another bottle.

I thought this is a nice flowery scent for daytime and summer. It smelled like a bunch of fresh roses to me. I tried it on paper only so far.
PS: I now also tested it on my skin. It reminded me in the middle and endnotes of Paul Smiths’ Rose which I have already. It’s a light scent for the office and has at least the staying power of half a day. I like it and would buy it if I didn’t have Paul Smith already 🙂 It has flowers in it and also the green note that is familiar from Paul Smith.

This one is very fresh and almost the same as YSL “In love again” original in green box. I have tested them today both on my both wrists and resemblance is very very close! I adore YSL and now instead of paying huge amount of money for discontinued YSl i will stock up with “Belissima”. Thank you Blumarine for this wonderful and fresh fragrance that is perfect for the hot summer days and nights.
Floral-citrus-fresh fragrance that is so innocent and uplifting!

I love the opening. It’s bright and feminine, with very subtle water notes (and a little ginger) against a sweet citrus-peony backdrop. The passion flower became pronounced throughout the heart and the citrus notes faded. Unexpectedly, the soft, woody-vanilla base notes seemed to emerge early on during the dry-down, but as they mingled with the passionflower, the fragrance became a pleasant floral-woody-musk that I imagine would suit a variety of wearers.
(On my skin, this was absolutely nothing like D&G The One, which I found to be dominated by amber.)

Very known, peony+powder perfume. Nothing innovative (not even close). It doesn’t remind me of some specific perfume, but it reminds me of many many many perfumes that are average.
I don’t know if I am in the stage where I need something special from a perfume, but this could be likable to masses who generally like perfumes (don’t ask much in a perfume) but for fanatics like myself … hmn.. not sure 😀

Seems like we are playing a game here, what scent Bellisima resembles… Well, my stake is Bellisima = Love in Paris style, to be precise = Love in Paris Fleur de Pivoine limited edition. I don’t personally reject this style, yet I would stick to Nina Ricci from art and money point of veiw… Bellisima sits close to the skin, creates no sillage but fragile feminine aura, the longevity is modest, no wonders to really vent about…

I’ve noticed that many reviews here liken Bellissima to other scents on the market. On my skin this fragrance does not smell like Ralph Lauren’s Romance, D&G The One or L’eau The One. Instead it smells like an exact copy of Moschino’s Funny!
From the sharp, citrusy opening of orange, to the rich peony heart and the musky base, the similarities to Funny! are either intentional or a pure coincidence. With that being said, I’d classify Bellissima as a fruity floral.
The scent is very refreshing and Summery, however I do wish that there were more floral notes here, I want to smell the passion flower note badly.
I don’t get much in the way of sweetness here, so perhaps that is a fault of my skin chemistry rather than the scent itself.
I just haven’t come to terms with how similar Funny! and Bellissima are. I can only wish that I still had a drop left of Funny! so I could compare the two on either wrist.
I applied Bellissima to a piece of paper where I could clearly smell a sweetened, candy-like raspberry note which does remind me of The One in some instances. However I can not detect this note on my own skin.
Unfortunately I’m disappointed by Bellissima, since I had expected something a little different and more floral. However as a substitute for Moschino’s Funny! I’m not all that disappointed.

Top notes are fresh and tender, but dry-down incredibly reminded me of L’Eau The One, perhaps only on my skin … I got a headache from these notes.
However, in comparison with the fragrance still choose L’eau The One. But despite that,it’s warm and lovely scent that could appeal to those who love juicy vanilla with a strong touch of sandalwood&cashmere wood. For me just another fashionable fragrance.

This fragrance is a standout (quite a feat when you consider a new scent is released practically every day somewhere in the world).
From the classic elegance of the bottle shape to the romantic color of the pale rose-colored juice inside, this perfume is not your average department store release. I have already gone through 2 sample vials and loved every minute I wore this scent. It is described as a floral musk but I would never guess there is floral in this. It reminds me of a slightly creamier/fruitier Bvlgari Au The Blanc. And I do mean “slightly”.
Top notes: dew drops, ginger, grapefruit and orange
    Mid notes: peony and passionflower
Base notes: sandalwood, musk, cashmere and vanilla blossom
It is extremely well blended, no one note dominates. And it is subtly sensual. In fact, I would love to know which note, or combination of notes, evokes this feeling, I would search it out in other fragrances. Given its romantic sensuality, it would work well as an evening scent. And yet, I would not hesitate to wear this to the office, because it has a sheerness to it, like the aforementioned Au The Blanc. It had good lasting power on me, I’d say 5 hours on the skin and all day when spritzed on clothing.
This is unlike any other scent I’ve sniffed and I’ve sampled quite a few (h/e, niche, department store – you name it).

in the end I’ve changed my mind about this perfume…I’ve received it as a gift and, trying to be polite, I opened the bottle and sprayed on my wrist.
i don’t know what was wrong with the tester, but now I love it.
it starts fresh and sparkling, ginger and grapefruit above all, then become floral but sweet (maybe thanks to passion flower,)young and radiant. the end is tender too, but luckily not powdery!
very feminine and seductive in a soft way, just the kind of perfume loved by men – even if we often choose strong perfume trying to be sexy…

  38. :

    5 out of 5

    what a huge disappointment!
I thought I’d have loved this one but it’s just a copy of D&G The One…and not so longlasting (it lasted only 10min on my pulse points, even less on paper).
