Green, Vetiver, and Black Licorice. As soon as you put this on, it only gets stronger. It billows around you. It really projects for about three hours. Later, you can still smell it – it lasts a long time – but it calms down a little and stops projecting so much.
I like this scent, although it doesn’t remind me of a beach. And it is different and a little strange.

One of the longest lasting “fresh” perfumes ever. This thing is nucleus, probably the strongest aromatic scent I came across. The mint in the opening is a bit harsh but after few minutes the ivy and oakmoss start stepping to the front making it less brutal. In the deep dry down you are left with soft myrrh and woodsy notes.
Seeing how potent this scent is… I would say it definitely worth the price. This thing is not a generic fresh scent you see in ever perfume/cosmetic shop. It’s a well blended summer perfume with impressive performance… something the perfume industry lacks nowadays thanks to the IFRA restrictions.
    Scent 9/10
    Projection 10/10
    Longevity 10/10

    3.5/5
This frag is a glitter laced stripper with bolt-ons and a mouth full of smoke. I want to love it, and for it to give my nostrils that 5-star lap dance I’ve been waiting for….but it just doesn’t quite deliver.
I’m very ambivalent on Amouage. Their designs are beautiful, their scents high quality and well housed….yet, most are far too potent and heavy for me. In fact intoxicatingly so, that smelling them too much might make me sick. Currently Jubilation XXV and Reflection Man are in the OK pile. Okay as in okay I’ll give them another go when I’m 50 and start losing my marbles – because by that time I’ll likely take up piano playing as my new sport and might actually want to smell like sandalwood to match the woody accord of the instrument I’m sitting on.
But I digress. I had high expectations for this one, as a fresher wore wearable offering from Amouage. Certainly the packaging and bottle design are exquisite and ooze wealth and refinement. And being an Amouage you’re gauranteed performance – which is to me one of the traits I LOVE most about this house – and that element is certainly there in Beach Hut Man.
However the issue for me is with the scent as it largely turns into a very heavy mint/patchouli fragrance, which while pleasant can lose allure and sophistication on the dry down. The Scentinel on youtube mentioned in his review that he gets a very menthol like drydown – and I’d agree to an extent. To me it is a marked improvement over Creed Viking which also gives me a similar effect in the dry down however Vikings scent is more complex, though totally lacking in performance which tends to nullify the complexity eventually.
I prefer Beach Hut Man over Viking purely because of the performance, but wouldn’t really feel inclined to buy either currently. Given the theme of Beach Hut Man I would have liked to seen Amouage take a smokier/aquatic direction with this frag.
Nevertheless still an interesting and art-full release from Oman. But its no oiled up Latino dancing @ Carnivale. Boom-shaka-laka!

    Masterpiece!
    Wonderful smell, great performance!!!

Aquatic in a non-aquatic way. Generally and genuinely beautiful on my skin, but not entirely reminiscent of what it’s trying to emulate. At least not on first try. Opens a bit woody, dries down to a very nice mint & lavender. Galbanum is odd to see in modern day releases, so it’s kinda groovy to see a resurgence. The ivy is nice, too. A great release!

Additional Comment: whilst I respect that each individual has an opinion I would suggest that if you are a novice then you should not be smelling niche frags at this point. Get a feel for designer frags first and work on developing your sense of smell and ability to distinguish various notes in the frags. People who use samples of niche when they have not developed their ability to distinguish different notes are not going to enjoy niche. Complaints of price, overpowering scents IMO are not worthy to be on the review page of these pages. At the point of niche one should be able to recognize the artistry of these frags. I think that Elise Benat is a master/Royal Highness perfumier and being only in her 30’s is remarkable with this masterpiece. If a scent can still smell “fresh” past the 10th hour mark that has to be the work and combination of excellence and the finest materials respectively. One cannot make a call on trying a sample alone except if you have quite a few of them and do it over a period of lets say a month. Although a trained nose will do it on the spot after say 3 hours of wearing.

An awesome release from Amouage. The “freshest” in my collection of Amouage. I shower at least 3 times a day and between my morning shower and pre-gym shower (6 AM and 6 PM) I am still able to get the scent trail from this gem. I love the opening and this projects for at least 6 hours on my skin with the dry down about half an arms length – literally a scent bubble all day long. In the dry down I get an awesome driftwood salty vibe and it is very unique. Amouage is not for everyone and rarely do I get compliments with them except for Memoir Man which I layer with Memoir Woman (1 spray max). However, my partner loves this one on me (and all my other Amouages as well Bracken Man, Imitation Man, Memoir Man, Memoir Woman, Bracken Woman, Journey Man, Sunshine Man, but strangely not Jubilation xxv and Interlude) – I love them all and rock them all year round depending on my state of mind. I believe that you can pull off wearing any Amouage all year round if you have the confidence to do so – how you feel ito confidence is how you will come across just do it and think that you are the sexiest smelling person around. In any event you wear frags for yourself not anybody else. I have purchased my second Beach Hut Man as it is definitely signature worthy. Once you have tried Amouage its difficult for anything to come remotely close after all its the “Gift of Kings”

Beach hut man is a very high power mint fragrance that leans green and ever so slightly bitter. To me it smells of natural wild spearmint. The table says woody notes, but high quality sandalwood was the first note i picked up, then mint and a strong note of ivy. Moss and patchouli contribute to the earthy aspect, orange blossum adds some sweetness. I would say vetiver is here and cleverly blended to add strength to the mint. And it is strong. It gets a bit creamier and sweeter as time passes but i do not get a great deal of transition. This is not pretty coconut tropical; but deep in the rainforest with the raw vegetation beachy. Again Amouage impresses with their own style and creativity. This is a must try for those who enjoy mint.

    Green.. loud.. strong..
Has an old school cologne vibe, but better
    Perfect for the summer..
    Another winner from amouage..

A more vivid version of Acqua di Parma Colonia Pura. It surely has the summer vibe but not really beach-like.

I keep going back and forth on this one. I do like it, just don’t know if I’d pick up a bottle. Opens up with strong mint and a ton of ivy. I get galbanum and myrrh to support the very green top. I think it’s the ivy that I flip flop on. If the ivy was toned back a little bit and the myrrh was amped up I think I’d love it. When I get the myrrh with its slightly sweet resinous touch mixing with the rest of the notes it smells great, but it’s fleeting.
It’s definitely unique, which Amouage excels at for sure. I’ll keep trying it from my sample, might just get another sample if I go through this one.

Interesting fragrance. It is super strong, it fills the rooms and whole day long. The opening and first 30 minutes are the best where the mint and fresher notes give the uplifting effect. After the one hour mark it starts to show the base, which is somewhat with tonka bean, patchouli and vetiver. The base brings to my perception the colognes of the 80’s and 90’s up. I used to have a bottle of Jaguar Mark II. Beach hut man to me is like a mixture of Guerlain Homme and Jaguar Mark II. And as the mint and the Sweetness get lighter and the Jaguar Mark II becomes stronger it makes me sad, I brings the old fashion vibe back.
I had the same with Acqua di Parma Colonia Sandalo which was a heavy copy of Azzaro/ Ted Lapidus etc.
    Blast from the past!

This is an incredibly interesting fragrance that I just can’t get into. I bought a decant with no expectations for a typical “beachy” fragrance, so I didn’t come in with high hopes for tropical stuff, and once I got accustomed to the ivy I found it quite a nice scent overall. However I just can’t get past the mint bomb opening. Whoever first described it as “bracing” really nailed the mint note. Whoa. It starts bright and mentholic, then tames as the ivy comes forward but always seemed to be present to me. If mint is your thing then you might really like it. And it is indeed realistic mint. I just wouldn’t want to smell like that. The ivy, on the other hand, was completely new to me, and a bit off-putting at first..but..after a few wearings..now I quite like it.. A lot! However just because I’ve grown accustomed to it doesn’t mean those around me will. So again, I like the ivy but I’m not sure I want to smell like that. I could imagine getting a few weird looks wearing this. Either way, I feel this is one of those unique fragrances that takes some time to truly come to love, and I have a few wearings left in my decant so I may revise this. Like I said, the ivy really grows on you (no pun intended).
    Edit 8/31/18
Well after another few wears I must have grown accustomed to the opening because I dont get the overwhelming mint anymore. From the first spray it’s a nicely balanced ivy and mint with the mint really adding a rough and spicy edge to the smooth, round, ivy. And contrary to my prior review I didn’t raise eyebrows, and in fact got a compliment from a fellow fragrance guy in the office this morning. I definitely say give it a try but the decant was enough for me. Noticeably high quality and very unique, but I would only ever wear it a few times throughout the year to switch things up from my more traditional stuff so I cant justify owning a bottle. I gave the rest of my decant to the guy who complimented me.

The scent immediately invokes the feeling of being on a tropical island without the boring and overthetop vacation-type aquatic, coconut, rum, pineapple, citrus, etc. notes. Upon smelling this you are brought to a remote dusty sun-beaten beach bar surrounded by miles of lush vegetation.
If the typical beachy fragrance reminds you of a franchise resort in the Bahamas with Pina coladas, sunscreen, and swimming pools everywhere, then this scent is the beach hut bar the rare tourist stumbles upon deep into the local inhabitated area of the island- and the tourist is blessed to find such a local gem for it brings a more precious and genuine experience.
My work brings me all over the little islands in the S. Pacific and wearing this fragrance immediately brings me to the remote places i’ve been blessed to visit. The name “Beach Hut Man” is truly deserving, and a wonderful departure from the normal boring “beach” fragrances which all smell the same. This will be the first niche full bottle I purchase after surviving on decants for some time. This one is truly special. I don’t understand why this masterpiece is receiving negative reviews.
Originality: 10/10 (a masterpiece, an original summer fragrance)
    Scent: 9.5/10

What a marvelous bouquet ! For me it was very intriguing and original blend. I bought it after 1 week after sampled it and is very enjoyable in my summer days. I could say I’m smelling chamomille, mint and some white soapy flowers that grow along streams. It’s pretty versatile and lasts long enough. Amouage quality!
    My batch is Oman made.

No denying this is good quality but it is not one of my favourite scent characters. Just a personal taste thing really. However, the performance of this thing is absolutely top draw! It projects like a meteorite and lasts pretty much forever. It does actually smell more pleasant the longer it stays on you too which is only a good thing. Bottle and box are beautiful!

Scent – benzoin, green patchouli & mint.
Season/Time of Day – I prefer to use this one in the warmer months, day or night.
    Projection – I did get noticed, I didn’t get a compliment.
    Longevity – I get 8hrs consistently.

A really nice combination of mint and ivy that manages to convey a cool coastal breeze and a warm, dry hut soaking up the sun. The mint is herbal, and cooling, while the ivy is a leafy, woody-green, supported by a sparse and dry Vetiver skeleton. Galbanum and orange blossom keep the mint in check, maintaining its cooling, herbal and almost-bitter character. Don’t get confused–this is not a “watery” aquatic at all–it’s pretty dry. But the focus here seems to be the breeze and it’s surrounding vegetation, and the wooden siding of the hut, which it all captures wonderfully. What I like most about this scent is that it’s different–creatively driven and not like much else out there–but it also has that instantaneous, immediately gratifying, widespread appeal. You’re not likely to make many enemies while wearing Beach Hut, and you may end up with a few compliments along the way. Beach Hut seems best for the spring and summer (duh), and has a casual feel that could also be used in semi-formal situations. Projection is perfectly calibrated for this kind of scent–it catches the air without subduing it–and it lasts over 10 hours with good projection for at least 4 or 5. This might be my favorite discovery of 2018, as it gets a thumbs up and final rating of 9/10.
Side Note: There is one scent that someone (my apologies, I forgot who) mentioned smelling like Beach Hut, and I have to agree–DS & Durga’s Boston Ivy employs a very similar combination of Ivy and Mint, and at first the resemblance is uncanny. But Beach Hut, in my opinion, has a much better texture and construction. Beach Hut maintains a crisp, airy feeling that Boston Ivy lacks. When wearing Boston Ivy, you’re right there, in the dirt surrounded by a patch of Ivy–it smells good, but tends to become overbearing and lacks the finesse of the defter Amouage. Boston Ivy feels like a September-October green, Beach Hut has ‘summer’ written all over it.

Bought 2 samples for summer, thought it was good. How come you love it? Sour stink like something rotten and moldy. I feel like I got into old cellar. Bracken man a little better but the same story just without sourness. Maybe I should try Figment in order to say they are nice smelling frags ) Waste of money.

It opens up with a bitter, cold, refreshing mint and as it dries down, woody and salty notes appear and give Beach Hut depth and dimension. A very creative and quite versatile fragrance.

Testing this out for first time today, I didn’t like it first, was too green for me and I love vetiver frags!! though the drydown is lovely, fresh, slightly sweet which I take the orange blossom plays its part and a little hint of salty vetiver and mint.
nice and refreshing- reminds me of renaissance a little bit which I don’t like at all but this one is better.
Overall I would rate this 7/10- solid release but again not worth the money like most niche fragrances

Great Amouage, now i have to sell couple of my bottles from the collection, so i can buy this. An incredible elixir, full of high quality ingredients, perfectly blended. That mint and orange, soaked in myrrh are something unique for the intro, one of the best openings ever encountered in fragrances. The ivy, the moss and the vetiver keep this juice on the age-versatile side and the patchouli sweeten things up a notch till the dry down. A spring-summer, day-night, perfect attention grabber fragrance.
The performance it on the pair with the price, 20h skin level scent, projection 4-5h, compliments even after 10th hour (7 sprays from a decant).
It’s there a subliminal message from the ‘perfumier’ , is this how a woman wants, a man smells like ?!
My hat’s off to you ms Elise Benat !
Edit: Finally bought it, best purchase so far this year. Really worth the money!

Very strong, green woody fragrance that lasts and lasts. It is also unique, which I am normally drawn to. But damn Beach Hut Man is sharp…and I mean obnoxiously SHARP smelling, almost piercing. The vetiver and ivy mean business. This is very bitter and I wish I liked it better and could write a better review, but this gets a 5/10 from me. Not a bad smell, just not something I would want to smell like.

  28. :

Beach Hut is in fact a very complex perfume, it presents itself to the wearer as a chamaeleon, the first blast is minty refreshing but laced with galbanum for a bitter green introduction, there’s presence of neroli to my nose, I sense an airy oceanic salty feel as well.
In the heart the addition of lavender (not listed in the notes) plays a role to portrait a fougere facet to the blend, somewhat barbershopy at times, this scent in my opinion encapsulates the images of a summer day at the beach, but not inside the water, instead, Beach Hut gives off a very outdoorsy vibe, this is the smell of nature, the type of aroma that transports me to Cuba, Varadero beach seating in a bar with guano roof drinking cuban mojito with ocean view and the sand right across from the bar, all surrounded by palm trees and green nature, the dry down features a creamy woody facet as well with subtle sweetness
, I truly love Beach Hut, and it also has excellent tenacity on skin.

Scent – Moss. Green. Morning. After rain. Cottage. Bushes. I feel in love from the first sniff I like it too much and it’s totally different from all perfumes I have had in my collection.
Time of Day – I usually wear it when I plan to spend lots of time outside. It’s very heavy to sniff it in closed environments or mixed with scents of coffee or food. It’s a scent that is enjoyed being out, surrounded by nature and sun.
Projection – Nobody mentioned it. No compliments yet, only me appreciating myself.
Longevity – I get up to 7 hours out of 5 sprays. Stays much longer on clothes. You will smell it on your skill until you would take a shower later that day.

  30. :

    5 out of 5

I get a lot of powder, especially on my clothes.
Mint and ivy are prominent, initial citrus family hit is nice, along with a backbone of some woods, but way too powdery for me. I probably won’t even finish this sample.
Good (too good?) longevity and nice silage for a summer scent though.

  31. :

    4 out of 5

Really enjoy this! Given it a spin a few times now and each time enjoyed the mint, green, fresh vibe. It’s got a more old school/mature fresh vibe. Kind of doing what Creed Viking has done, fresh spin on an older style.
I get a lot of lime in it after the mint, although it’s not listed. It’s class. Ingredients top class. Longevity and silage good, not amazing on me but smelling it a good 10 hours later.

  32. :

    4 out of 5

Not very beachy, it reminds me of dry bamboo, classic aromatics and makes my mind think vetiver at times.
That being said it is a well done fragrance, but longevity is 6 hours sadly. It has fair projection and isn’t daring in the sense of being avon garde, concentrated or has strange notes, but is a fragrance that will appeal more to mature men.
I find this is as another Amouge, that cannot match or best Jubilation 25 in greatness.

  33. :

    3 out of 5

Disappointing frag; not beach-like at all
The mint is abnormally misplaced and unharmonious with its counter parts. That’s one too many notes that disagree with each other and make this unwearable. This is almost as bad as bracken man.

    Amouage / Beach Hut Men
    The olfactory group: Woody Aromatic
    Base notes: bitter and cool
Shelf life and distribution: medium to high
    Starting note:
A fragrant and delicious start, a sour plant and a bit of peppermint and orange blossom will be your first impression of perfume.
So bitter smell of smoky, earthy, mint and peppery smell accompanied by a spicy and bitter peppermint of Galbanum.
Powder, lemon, vanilla, sweet and dried fruit
    Middle notes:
With the presence of Vetiver and moss and aroma of nuts, the aroma is more spacious and cheerful, more woody, smoky, bitter and gray.
The bitter, smoky, burned and burned steadiness in the fragrance gets smaller and the aroma of the atmosphere finds a powdery, slightly dry form.
    Final note:
The overall atmosphere of juicy, powdery, and soap is a bitter, cool and slightly sour cream.
The aromatic powdery and soap aromatic atmosphere is accompanied by layers of sour and bitter scent.
Atomic perfume is not monotonous, every time you smell a perfume, you sense a different sense of fragrance, but the aromatic atmosphere is such that if you use a lot of it you will be smooth and less attractive. The main action of perfume occurs in the middle notes. Green, mossy and heavy aroma So that the presence of other chords gets to the brink.
Not so much feedback and not popular.

Absolutely amazing! Was turned off by the name for a while even though I’m one of the most ardent lovers of Amouage around. This is what I expected Durga’s Boston Ivy to smell like. This is what I thought Bamboo Harmony would ascend to. Neither of them came close. Beach Hut is in fact like a Beach Hut to my nose. There’s so much going here, there’s so many transitions it blows my mind. It opens up similar to Tom Ford’s Vert d’Encens with some Vagabond Prince’s Enchanted Forest in there….the ripe fruit part of the latter but better and more complex which says a lot because those two are no slouches. About ten minutes later a tiny bit of that astringent background in Heeley’s Coccobello kicks in, like a suntan lotion that has been seared into the skin from the brazen sun. This gives way to what I could only describe visually as a pink, red flower in a vase tucked in the corner of a beach hut that emanates through the cracks of bamboo walls and a straw thatched roof. To make it even more transcendental, a hint of sea salt lingers in the air. All the while, deep and rich ivy vines couple with dark greenery outside the hut. It’s all of these things coalesceing into one scene in such a beautiful, stunning way. This is really, really, fantastic. After wearing this the name now makes complete sense. I don’t find it silly at all but really appropriate. I don’t believe this will be for the common man. I would try before you buy. If you like designer scents, this might make you twinge, but if you have grown accustomed to the house of Amouage and others like it, I believe you will find it extremely satisfying!

    As Dubious wrote… Stunning!
Stunning, but yet it seems so simple. A bright and clear orange blossom note underneath which lies the distinctive smell of the fruit itself. A crisp mint jumps almost seconds after this beautiful beginning. A mint note so true, so real and so far from those trying to imitate freshness. Here stands out a bright aromatic mint like when you press your fingers on the leaves of the plant. The smell that settles on your fingers is present in this bottle and will linger for a very long time! And from there I was lead toward notes of sharp, bitter greens, then slowly settling into woods, biting vetiver… but never loosing its colors. As a bonus you witness this resinous note trying to emerge with subtlety. A little signature here from Amouage. Refreshing, but always in a very refined, sophisticated way like most of Amouage fragrances.
First word that comes to mind is – UPLIFTING. Think summer in the northern hemisphere. A lake by a conifer forest. For me, it is reminiscent of summer in the mountains with cool air rather than one of summer beaches. From beginning to end it is bright, real and full of crisp and fresh notes… in a blend that stays with you for long hours with projection that would stands between moderate and heavy.
Beach Hut is so easy to wear as oppose to some other beautiful creations the house made which were more daring. A beautiful offering I can see working 4 seasons.
If you like mint, herbaceous green, slightly bitter or sharp fragrances… do have a try!

At first spray, all I could smell was something like a cleaning product… like PineSol. I immediately knew this wasn’t for me for I like my frags to have some sort of sweetness to them. 15 minutes later, I smell something more respectful…like moist ivy tree branches. I also smell the freshness of the mint. Beach Hut Man is woody moist masculine and not at all sweet! You have to love Amouage for coming up w/ these type of compositions! I don’t foresee anyone under 30 wearing this fragrance. Exudes confidence and intelligence! I’m so glad I’ve gotten the chance to sniff this bad boy! One day I’ll wear it when the time is right !

Not for me & I know I’m in the extreme minority but I’ve yet to find something I like alot from Amouage.
This one is WAY too green for me. I love Orange Blossom & mint, but the Ivy & Galbanum rule here with mint supporting.
    Too green!

Very strange and something that I dont like I would say. I prefer the Bracken Man which is more conservative as Im not always fan of mint. Definitely it does not remind something else but something else is in the combo which is very powerful, maybe Ivy but I dont know how Ivy smells so I cant be sure… Not in my wish list anyway. Same applies to Figment man.

Received a decant of this yesterday. The ivy note for me is way too powerful and dominated the scent. If you are an ivy lover this is all you. Its definitely worth getting your nose on but don’t blind buy it.I prefer Guerlain L’Eau Boisee over this.

This one opens for me with a slight soapiness, and the smell of fruit juice; a tropical fruit juice or cocktail where I cannot QUITE place the flavours. I am not immediately struck by the scent of mint, although I sense it lurking in the undergrowth. It takes a good fifteen minutes or so for the mint to fully “bloom” on my skin, giving a mentholated feel to the whole light, airy, juicy bouquet.
The first hour or so reminds me of dreaming or a waking dream where the more one tries to remember the details, the more it slips away from one’s grasp… or better than that, “dream fruit” that melt away when you try to grip them. The whole feel of the fragrance is very dreamy and subtle.
The transition into the long drydown is very smooth and gradual. I can sense earthiness from the patchouli emerging. Then the whole composition turns woody.
I strongly disagree that the title “Beach Hut” is inapt or not indicative of this fragrance. For me, every part of the creative brief is fulfilled, and the concept makes complete sense. I get strong images and feelings of the beach, sea, sand, cocktails, summer, and finally, the weather-beaten boards of the hut itself.
In short: the hut and its immediate surrounds.
This is purely a summertime fragrance for me and I cannot imagine wearing it in any other season except possibly autumn/fall, as a reminiscence of summer.
I like this fragrance a lot but am not feeling the need yet to rush out and buy it. I’m more of a fan of the old-school bombastic Amouage. More of a Figment Man than an easy-going Beach Hut Man. Maybe I just like to be whacked over the head with big fragrance chords and can’t do subtle. Or I have a secret need for bombast. Time for some fragrance self-analysis. Ha.
UPDATE: I now have it *ahem*

This is a summer scent! wear it during the day and you will enjoy for hours,Not best suited for night;Due to the freshness, I love it and enjoy wearing it! I am not going to impersonate a fragrance guru and go on about the notes brake down;If you are a fan of Amouage then you understand what I meant by fresh; Due to Amouage did not made many freshies, As I have said in my past reviews; This is not a fragrance that is going to wow everyone, Try before buy and wear with confidence,
    My Opinion
    Scent 10/10
    Silage 10/10
    Lasting power 10/10
    Thanks,

Rarely do I get a ‘coup de coeur’ with fragrances. A real love at first sniff for me. Longevity and projection are so powerful for a freshy; it’s truly impressive. I sniff my wrist all the time when trying the sample because it soot
