    A Carnation Queen
Carnation flower power. She has the power to seduce and to deceive, to turn into a different woman for different men. She is sexy, innocent, powerful, vulnerable, cruel and kind. This fragrance has more going on than the notes listed: carnation, plum, musk. The carnation is heavy. It’s like a huge skin made out of carnation. It literally felt like my skin was wrapped up in a carnation. The fragrance also has green notes, an oil or inky scent, something black and dark, something jammy, something like cassis or creme de cassis which is made of grapes that smells like grape wine. It’s rich, exotic, Mediterranean in character. The musk is animalic and warm, with just a touch of the barnyard dirt that can nevertheless feel sexy. This is also very unisex because carnation and musk can become masculine in fragrances. In my many years of experience with fragrances, I’ve discovered that the Black Phoenix Alchemy Lab folks are the best in providing a fragrance with abstraction, with mysticism, with magic, fantasy, poetry and with vague descriptions on the notes which only make me want to buy the perfume even blindly. Smelling the fragrances is like playing a game in which you’re blindfolded and someone presents you with scents to smell and for you to identify. This fragrance is gorgeous. In the 60’s there was a Bathsheba perfume by Judith Muller which sadly has been discontinued. It was designed to resemble an ancient amphora or perfume oil jar. It smelled of fruits, spices and flowers but was never musky or sexy just an innocent little floral fragrance. This one seems to be like they got the idea to make a darker bolder version of the 1966 Bathsheba by Judith Muller. I love this stuff and love to wear it on dates. I keep my dates intrigued with my “weird” perfumes. Love love love this stuff. I also love their now discontinued original Snow White their La Belle Au Bois Dormant Bastet and Dragon’s Blood.

    LAB’S DESCRIPTION
“The Seventh Daughter, Daughter of the Oath. She was King David’s lover, and the mother of King Solomon. Her scent is breathtakingly lovely, exotic and powerfully sensual in its innocence: carnation, sensual plum, and Arabian musk.”
    This is actually reeeeeeeeally nice.
It’s very spicy on me…it’s a spicy musk in the wet stages. It doesn’t knock you out with it’s throw though, it’s probably just about right I’d say. Someone commented and said I can smell you, it’s really nice. I’ve never experienced the spicyness of carnation like this before, it’s almost like a foody spice!
When it’s dry it changes..the plum becomes more noticable, and makes it sweeter. I really like plum in blends I think it’s gorgeous. “Midwinter’s Eve” being a favourite of mine.
The musk stays throughout drydown and behaves. This one is blended so nicely it’s nicer than I had expected.
Now it’s a musky plum that’s actually quite tart, but still pleasant.
Overall this is such a pretty blend, It’s a little hidden gem because I’ve had it for a long time but didn’t know how nice it was. Hiding there in my sample box.
