Description
The word ” Attar “comes from the Urdu language and means” Fragrance Divine “, a definition which stresses the power of the magician in his wake. Formerly took the name of “Ittar” which in Arabic means “Heavenly Fragrance”.
According to legend, the birth of ‘ Attar is due to an accidental event. One day, the Persian Queen Nour-Dijhan, walking among the streams of the imperial garden, he noticed a veil fat floating on the water at the point where they drop thousands of roses. After collecting a few drops of that liquid gold with a peacock feather and it smelled, the queen was enchanted by what he called heavenly scent. Because of the sharp fall had been a natural process of distillation, which had brought to the surface the essence of the rose and gave birth to the first Attar of Rose. L ‘ Attar is completely free of alcohol and comes in an oily substance made by the soul alone, and only smelling extracted from natural raw materials, according to ancient procedures for processing.
Passionate and vibrant. A voluptuous intertwining of spicy and woody notes that combines moments of sweetness to moments of force. Its sillage evokes the legendary splendor of the courts of the ancient East. Its beginning is steeped in a trail of amber and citrus, warmed by a pungent mixture of cardamom and cinnamon. Attar with a soft and precious heart, Basmah has hints of Musk and Rose. The base is filled with valuable notes persistent, insistent, indelible in the nose and in the heart. Cambodian Oud, Sandalwood and White Musk exhale perfumed coils that give moments of intoxication. In Arabic, Basmah means “Smile.”
Available in 12 ml bottle.

My bottle has a darker colored juice than pictured above, it matches the description of a spicy woody scent that captures moments of sweetness and force. I wouldn’t call it voluptuous, that makes me think of deeply resinous or gigantically floral perfumes, I would call it ethereal with great presence. It’s basically a sandalwood and spice fragrance that has an interplay with a delicate sweetness (rose?) so that sometimes it is smoothly woody then fiery spicy all against a mesmerizing backdrop of an almost invisible floral whose presence is more felt than smelled. There’s a way that Taifi rose reads ‘white’ to my nose, that is what I’m talking about. Initially I thought this was a simple woody sandalwood scent but the more I wear it the more I marvel at what it accomplishes through olfactive drama. It’s uplifting and magical.

Of all the attars of Amouage sold in Europe, this is in the first 3 for my nose. I am not talking about the expensive ingredients, but the beauty my nose smells. True, it is more feminine, young, smooth and I prefer this to heavy stuff. A flowery composition with just a bit of bouquet of the East that makes it exotic.

This scent is gentle, little flowers on me, and their smell is so soft, so nice. A very happy scent, I’d call it scent of a happy woman.
