After 5 days of sampling Basilico Fellini, I am convinced and persuaded just as I was the first time I experienced this perfume @ Arielle Shoshana in Fairfax, Va.
First of all, Arielle is an amazing young lady and her store is amazing as well!
She is sooo kind and friendly and the niche fragrance selection in her store and online are luxury as well as popular.
I would highly suggest a browse online as well as a visit if you’re in the Washington DC, Maryland, Virginia area.
This perfume is a fig and basil based, elegant, green and bright, wonderfully made fragrance by the house of Vilhelm Parfumerie.
I’m so glad to add this “diamond(IMO)” to my collection.

One of the best new green fragrances I’ve come across in a long time. I love the smell of fresh basil and had been looking for a perfume that plays around its characteristic sweet herbal freshness…….well, here it is! B&F is all about basil, interacting with other green notes and vetiver. I was surprised to see fruity notes listed in there, as I can’t detect them at all on my skin. There is nothing sweet or coy about this one; It has punch, it has grit, pleasant sillage and is an absolute hoot to wear on a summer day! A great one to try…….

Wonderful! Extremely fresh and lively. The scent reminds me of a warm June day with the fragrance of Texas Privit and Star Jasmine wafting through the air. What I admire about the perfume is that the scent is complex; not linear. I prefer fragrances that smell like an actual experience in the world, as opposed to merely a perfume, if that makes sense. Longevity and sillage are outstanding. Just the whole concept of basil mixed with something sweet (fig), along with fresh grass; come on now–it’s awesome.

This should have been called curry and bay leaves. It opens smelling like a fig stem, with undertones of curry, coriander and celery stalk that quickly overtakes the opening. This perfume reminds me of starting a soup and dropping some herbs in the boiling water. It’s not very wearable, and for once I’m happy that a scent has no longevity because it’s a scrubber. It’s honestly an insult to the great Fellini to have his name attached to this atrocity.
