Description
For fall/ winter 2015, H&M teamed up with French fashion house Balmain and its creative director Oliver Rousting, and launched much anticipated and exciting fashion collection. With the collection, a new fragrance Balmain H&M is also presented.
Exclusive, limited edition perfume is coming out in early December 2015, available at H&M stores at the price of $40. This warm, woody and cozy fragrance begins with accords of tonka bean and white jasmine petals. The heart captures woody tones of Texas cedar and blonde woods along with gardenia, laid on the soft base of white musk and Australian sandalwood.
It is available in a square golden bottle and black box of simple and elegant design, as 100 ml Eau de Parfum.

This perfume is utterly gorgeous! Beautiful creamy woods with some powderiness that mixed together make me think of almonds and marzipans. Such a cozy scent for winter, definitely could pass as unisex, but the subtle sweetness is making it a bit more feminine. Very niche smelling. It’s a shame that H&M is produced as limited edition…

This is definitely a unisex fragrance! The tonka beans mixed with soft blonde woods makes a creamy almost sweet scent. The warmth of the cedar and sandalwood is reminiscent of saunas. I would say this fragrance is sophisticated and sexy, yet the white florals gives it some youthful freshness! In love!

As I’d been hovering, it was with some satisfaction I not only picked up my bottle on launch day but to be told I was the first non-staff member to do so. And here I sit a full 24 hours later, the moment called to mind by a waft of Timberol or a kissing cousin, an indolic fairground amber – literally sickly sweet – and a curiosity as to whether it will take one or two trips to the dry cleaner to be free of my sample spray in store. I’d consider firing off more smart remarks along the same lines in Olivier Rousteing’s general direction but as my bottle is unopened, I expect the run to sell out in short order, and my preferences don’t count for much, I should have no trouble passing it on to someone who will appreciate it, if not, picking examples out of a hat here, perfume, perfumery, or the legacy of Pierre Balmain.

Got a 2ml sample of this with my Balmain x H&M purchase (release is actually scheduled for december 3rd).
The opening is sweet and floral, leaning more on the feminine side, but I actually do get the Reflection Man undertone in this, in the mid phase. The drydown is gorgeous : woody and still sweet. Nothing groundbreaking (hey, it is still some H&M maintream stuff), but for the 40 euros they’re asking, it will be an interesting buy… But the performance is nothing near an actual Eau de Parfum… No projection and average longevity.. I got ~5h in skin scent mode 🙁

Milky sandalwood with soapy neroli undertones. From a balsamic point of view this reminded me of Midnight in Paris and when it comes to the jasmine I was reminded of Reflection Man.
It’s okay. More masculine that feminine.

The dry down is nice, definitely unisex spicy and woody

Got a sample of this today.
The scent itself is nice, pretty, but nothing really out of the ordinary. The smell reminds me of a scented body lotion. I sprayed it on and thought “Hmm..very H&M”. After the dry down there was a lovely woody smell but it only lasted for a minute. It’s definitely for evenings.

Why on earth do they vote if they have not smelled the perfume yet??? Just wondering…
