So, this one intrigued me.
I like clean and fresh fragrances and I also like the smell of baby shampoo. Whether it makes for a good combination on a middle aged man is debatable.
From the first spray, yep – it’s the scent of baby shampoo. I’m also smelling baby oil and the slightest hint of baby powder in the mix. It’s simple and straightforward – no surprises.
In regard to projection and longevity, two hours in and it seems to be doing quite well.
Of course, with Demeter, you’re not going to get absurd projection or longevity anyway. I’m doing a bit of an experiment with spraying it bare on one arm, while using a fragrance primer on the other, before spraying it on. While the arm with the primer seems to be considerably more muted in regard to projection, the question of extended longevity is yet to be answered.
As I write this, admittedly, I’m feeling quite innocent and cuddly, although I’m thinking that I should probably stay inside, because if I go out, some woman might try to cradle me in her bosom. On second thought, maybe that isn’t the worst idea ever….
***** UPDATE *****
Unfortunately, with or without primer, the life of this fragrance is about 3-4 hours, so if you plan on wearing it for an extended period of time, you’ll need to reapply it.

I am one who actually diluted REAL vintage Johnson & Johnson’s Baby Shampoo into a spray bottle with some water –however just as soon as you water it down – the scent just becomes too faint. You’re also left with soapy residue which is no fun…….
Just got this in the mail 20 minutes ago.
First blast , yes a near perfect copy of Johnson & Johnson Baby Shampoo (the newer version – not the older version as one astute member mentioned on here).
While it’s drying down there is a faint bit of Bazooka bubblegum and a twinge of banana smell–faint, but there.
On my wrist this vanished in like 4 minutes BUT on my shirt I’m still getting whiffs – more or less of the Baby Shampoo minus the Bazooka & banana.
What does this mean?
Purrrfect bed & pillow spray to bring you into that “retro-cozy comfort zone” of childhood!
Happy to have this in my “Demeter Library” but probably will not replenish when it’s gone.
Grade: B minus

I just ordered this and received it today directly from Demeter. This. Scent. Is. Spot. On. Oh my it is so perfect. Dead on dupe for Johnson’s baby shampoo. Dead on dupe. I’ve been searching for a perfume in this scent since maybe 2002 and I finally found it.
Not only did it master the shampoo lather scent, but the powdery after scent that lingers on the skin after you pat dry from using the shampoo. So clean, fresh, gentle, and feminine. I cannot wait to rock this will my chiffon maxi dress, freckles, and curly hair.
Of course it’s demeter so it’ll last 3 hours, giving you sillage only about half of that lifespan, but it truly is worth extra sprays.

Fragrance Review For Baby Shampoo By Demeter Fragrance
Notes: Mystery Notes Meant To Recreate The Smell of Baby Shampoo
What will they think of next? Dog Shampoo? The best fragrance that most accurately captures the scent of a baby’s head just after a nice bath is actually Caron’s Royal Bain. I hoped this frag would smell like that. Not quite but not bad. It does smell like the newer formula baby shampoos. It also does smell like the sweetest softest baby’s head just after a bath. Some of us really like that smell, and we don’t have to be mothers to like it. I’m not a mother and have never had a baby but I do love the more pleasant smells related to babies. This is a soft and dreamy scent that I wear right before bed and after my own shower. It’s a nice after shower scent to put on right before going to sleep. It helps with providing you with relaxing, soothing and comforting scents to put you into a very nice sleep. Loving it.

Doesn’t smell bad, but I was hoping it smelled like the old version of Johnson & Johnson baby shampoo. It smells like the newer one.I like the old scent better.
