It’s been years since I’ve owned the scent, but I can still smell it as if it were yesterday. The only way I can describe the initial blast to me is dated and dusty, you know, like the thick layer of dust covering your grandmother’s fragrance collection. Heavy and makes your eyes itch.
But let it mellow and this is where the magic happens! Deep, rich, caramel-y dark chocolate, champagne and a bouquet of flowers. Grown and sexy. This scent blooms much the way Sarah Jessica Parker’s “Covet” does. Pretty offputting and confusing at first, but let it do its thing.
With Seattle’s autumn approaching, I would love to find maybe just a 1oz bottle of this again. Would not recommend for a young girl, and also wouldn’t consider this a safe blind buy, but if this sounds like your type of fragrance, check it out if you find it!

Golden Goddess smells like warm apples with cinnamon and Amber. I know none of that is in the notes but that’s the vibe I get. I can sort of pick up the fresh crisp note of the champagne which makes this appropriate for day time wear. This was never a favorite of mine but it is growing on me after all of these years. I really enjoy this for the fall but I’m not against wearing it year round. If you want a more sensual sweeter, warmer version of this I suggest trying Mirada by Avon.

I hate the top note. Too synthetic and fizzy. But I absolutely love the dry-down of warm caramel and vanilla musk. I’m conflicted with this perfume.

Wearing this because I found 2 bottles in my drawer … it smells like a bubbly vanilla champagne .. delicious and lasting.

Don’t know who Kimora Lee Simmons is .. vaguely recognize the brand name Baby Phat. Hey, I’m an older guy. So, this review is unbiased. Well done vanilla. The smell I get is vanilla softened by some vetiver. I am a big fan of vetiver and see it more often in men fumes. Nice to see it cross the aisle here. The champagne must be the aldehydic/sparkling part which keeps the fragrance from getting too heavy since there is also patchouli. If this one works on you it is not going to be maybe a signature scent but it can easily be a grade above most vanilla fragrances on the market. It is an Oriental Vanilla. Indeed, it is unique. The bottle is also very attractive. For someone, maybe this could be your signature after all.

Wow, methinks “Golden Goddess” is another example of what does not work on my skin. I don’t smell anything much, the champagne maybe – and its a mystery after that! Body chemistry has so much to do with the way a fragrance develops on a woman. Really like “Seductive Goddess” but this one is a meh on me. Other Fragrantica users are raving about this scent, if its for you enjoy!

Full disclosure: I bought this based purely on the reviews here when I was looking through celebrity perfumes to try out (or laugh/marvel at some of the obvious attempts to cash-in). I don’t even think of Kimora Lee Simmons like that. But the reviews and the, admittedly, pretty bottle got to me.
Except all I smell is alcohol, pepper and something synthetic, screechy and sour. No caramel, no champagne (it does smell fizzy though, maybe that’s where it went), none of the notes listed above. I’ve given it chance after chance, but it still fails to impress and I can’t get any of the sweetness. Maybe my bottle’s a bit old since the liquid is quite dark and it also has very little lasting strength.
Or maybe it’s just me. I just sprayed some on my blanket and it smells a lot better (and sexier) on it. Well, at least someone’s getting some use of it.
(Jokes and blanket-envy aside: I might give it another go later when I go outside. If all else fails, I’ll peddle it to any hapless sibling in my current vicinity).

I know this came out in 2006, but I’m late getting my bottle. I absolutely adore this fragrance!!! This started out with patchouli, champagne and caramel and it was glorious! The dry down is so pretty and easy to wear to work or on a date. I’m glad I got a bottle and wished I had gotten a bigger one!

I got this for my b-day back in 2006 when it came out and OMG LOVE IT!!!!! (Even now years later I still like it a lot!!)
The champagne note is the strongest but its light & sweet, fizzy with hints a very faint caramel & vanilla with a touch of floral.
The lasting power is pretty good on me and I like wearing this one year round.

I was pleasantly surprised by this fragrance. I normally don’t wear celeb fragrances (not that I consider the designer a celeb, she certainly isn’t a perfumier, either). I don’t wear sweet and fruity and I don’t wear foodie. Pure Sugar was awful, anything that wants to be like it or similar to it really I can’t have anything to do, even Angel with its cocoa makes me want to run. Anything with the name “Britney” or containing sparkles in general I probably will foolishly sniff but disappointedly set down.
Imagine my surprise when I found this rather a cantaloupe nectary, champagne sec with maybe some vanilla toffee. It’s heavy and it lasts forever. It reminds me of something strong and sweet and slightly fruity to drink like rum soaked cherries or rum cantaloupe surrounded by a pillow of vanilla custard.
I probably won’t buy again as it doesn’t contain enough interesting facets but it’s fun and pleasant.

This one is special to me as I’ve owned it for about 10 years and my mom wore it for about a year or two before she died. I remember her wearing a similar fragrance over the years too, but don’t know the name. I blind bought this because it was on clearance, but my young nose back then could not appreciate it. To me it smelled more suited to an older woman. Fast forward a few years…. I don’t love it, but I wear it occasionally and savor it. This one is harder to detect individual notes, but I do get mostly flowers with a hint of carmel and patchouli. To me it smells rich, golden and classy, smells like my mother.

I get the champagne in the opening, nice and bubbly. I am not sure, but I am assuming the earthy part of this perfume is the woody note. Not quite cedar, but very pencil shavings like. Maybe that’s the vetiver.I was hoping for more caramel and vanilla, of which I smelled none. Overall this is okay, not horrible, but not something I’d reach for on a daily basis.

Too strong, the scent doesnt have any balance, just not for me! the extremly wrong choice ever…..it makes me headaches like crazy!

Vraiment trop présent pour moi. Pas du tout mon genre ! Je dirais même que je trouve ce parfum un peu agressant…

I was very sceptic about this perfume, but after 1,5 month having it, I can say: I like it! It’s not a gorgeous, but it works for me as antidepressant. For my own nous it is very similar with Etro Etra in the first notes.
How it smelts: lemonade, caramel and flowers. Not champagne – it’s too synthetic for champagne; it’s just a children festival feeling…. simple and lovely.

  17. :

This is my go-to for day. I never got the caramel or earthy notes everyone is going on about. Definitely not the woody notes, either. To me, it’s a pseudo-sweet yet clean scent consisting of mostly champagne and powder. I can get a subtle hint of vanilla if I’m looking for it.

  18. :

Warm caramel and vanilla candles tinged with musk and friendly incense. There is also a nuance of something..for lack of a better word….fizzy? is it the champagne note?? I also smell what reminds of me of buttered rum. Tasty! Personally, i enjoy Golden Goddess..though exclusively in Winter months..i wouldn’t consider wearing this in warm weather.

When I first smelt this from a blind swap.. I was scared from the reviews but I find this has a mature womanly smell to it.. To make it smell less strong I put on pineapple body butter. Then spray with Avon vanilla body spray then the perfume it smells divine! And cancels out the earthy smell I love it

To me,Golden Goddess smells like crayons. I love the smell of crayons! In fact it doesn’t smell like it should even be a perfume, but of course,THAT’S WHAT I LIKE ABOUT IT!! I don’t smell caramel at all. It doesn’t smell sweet to me. The bottle is kind of ugly, but there is a nice ring around the sprayer that you can wear. The lotion is great, thick and shimmery. I love this stuff!

I do not like this one, PM me if you’d like to trade or buy.
I bought it hoping for the caramel notes but they did not show up on my skin, it is too floral for me.

I dont know about this, just got a 1oz bottle today, i was looking forward to the caramel / chocolate notes and i really liked the scent from the tester but .. it sucks on my skin, what a bummer! 🙁 i dont get any sweetness at all, it’s just flowers, crappy ones to it. I am giving it another chance tonight, maybe it will grow on me. One good thing about it – on my skin it lasts 4-6 hours, pretty good for a celeb fragrance! Scent reminds me of Heidi Klum Shine, not in a good way unfortunately, very generic and “old, nut like i said – it seems like this only happens to me, must have to do with my skin chemistry .. :((

I love KLS… So it kinda eau naturale for me to get this!
From the first sight, I adore love the bottle!!! It looks so regal with those squarish shape, diamante at the neck of the bottle and the Baby Phat ‘feline’ symbol on top of it. And it is in gold! And it doesn’t look as low cost as the price.
When I first sniff it, woah! Nice! Very nice indeed! And yeah, I bought it straight away. And on my skin, it smells like sweet florally caramelicious! Yummy… But the down point was it only lasts like 3 hours. I had to spritz it 3 times in a day. But well, I love the smell. Makes me wanna lick myself!!!
Overall; it is worth buying for the bottle and also for the perfume. The price is worth it! Seriously girl!:)

I Just bought the body lotion on sale and even though I’ve never sampled the perfume,I must say that i’m loving the lotion.
I’m not picking up on the caramel but I am picking up on the deep earthy tones and thats what i love about it.
The lotion reminds me somewhat of Velvet Hour by Kate Moss..Not completely but there are somewhat of the same notes as each other but Golden goddess is more toned down.
I will definitely like this one in the perfume if it smells anything like the lotion 🙂

i like it. it’s a great day perfume. bubbbly and sugary, but not too. a nice combination of floral and sweet ( caramel). i don’t get much of the patchouli and thats ok with me. i don’t feel i’m missing anything. i apply this around 3 times in the course of a day, as it isn’t too strong or long-lasting. the price is right so i don’t mind that.

funny story with this one..at first glance, i didnt think this perfume was anything special. Then when i tried it, it smelt so yummy and fresh..it was love at first sniff. I couldnt stop smelling myself and it was a perfect and unique evening perfume. Slowly as time went on..im not sure if the perfume was starting to turn, but something started to smell different. It could be the patchouli which i find revolting..but now i absolutely cant stand the scent of this perfume any longer! Its a shame because i love fabulousity..but this does not cut it for me anymore

    These are the right notes:
    Top: Bubbling champagne
Middle: Blue lilies and night orchid
Base notes: Caramel, vanilla flower, patchouli and vetiver.

I really like this perfume. It’s soft enough for work and least for a good while. The smell reminds me of the talc powder my mothers used to use after a shower.

It was a blind purchase back in 2008 …. awful awful strong over powering smell. All I could smell was caramel. It has been three years since I purchased it and this horrible perfume sits there on my dresser more than 75% full. Never this brand again in my life . Baby Phat all goddess perfume are cheap work of art : Baby phat original goddess pink one, baby phat golden goddess and baby phat seductive goddess…. all of em are the ugliest and the most horrible products that one can ever come up with.

I purchased it on a website. There was a discount, and I thought the perfume notes could have been pleasant for me.
When I received it, at the 1st pschitt, it makes me think about London – Paul Smith (it’s weird, perhaps because of lilac and vanilla ?). It’s nice, elegant, pretty yummy and I think it’s created for self-confident working women. It’s good to wear it during fall or winter days : caramel and chocolate will warm you up.
It’s not one of my favorite but I like it.

  34. :

To me this is a positive surprise. It’s a nice, warm, elegant and also individual scent. Somehow it’s yummy but not sweet or kitschy. On me it stays on all day. I could imagine to buy this scent again but since Kimora is not working with Babyphat anymore, I guess it’s been discontinued ?
PS: Unfortunately this scent gave me major migraine attacks, so I had to give it away.

I personally liked this perfume on myself. It is strong though, and I had to be careful not to put too much because it is very overpowering for people who have perfume allergies (I found this out by accidentally wearing too much to work, and my manager was majorly allergic and had to go take an allergy pill). Nonetheless, I would describe it as very sophisticated and alluring.

I’ll second that aristouka with embellishments: Golden Goddess is awful, bloody awful in fact.
The “exotic spices” smell like rancid cinnamon floating on top of an insipid broth-like soup of watery half-notes.
    An unfortunate invention IMHO.

Easy to boring me! I dont know why! I fell in love with this perfume from my firsttime, but then I realized this scent makes me headache and discomfort. I brought this bottle to my cousin, & she felt like me, early she loves the smell, but then she also feels like me. Anyway, this smell easily bored, i think so! I hope everyone will be no one like me!

I really don’t know anything about Kimora, but I did see a photo of her once. She is quite lovely, and I like the name Kimora. Very exotic and pretty.
But anyway……her looks have nothing to do with the perfume.:0) I have a scent replica of this. It is GORGEOUS! I love it so much. It smells like some type of ripe fruit, very juicy fresh smelling. It smells to me like a sweet and softly spicy pear, mixed with a creamy smell. I smell very soft patchouli now and then, and I really love getting a whiff of that soft earth. The vetiver is sultry here and I find it to blend so deliciously with the creamy caramel pear, vanilla, earth, and even some orchids I can feel are here in this precious scent.
This is a very unique and exotic smell.I cannot get bored with it! Kimora, did you choose all the scent mixtures here? You have a great nose then! These days,I am reading that most of the modern perfumers are not using animal musk and I really hope the original Golden Goddess uses synthetic musk. That picture above with the animal hurts my heart (the musk photo)
**My scent replica which I bought,is cruelty free and vegan:)
This is indeed a very Golden Goddess of a scent. I love that name!

Didn’t like this at first. Thought it was heavy and had an old lady musk quality about it. It grew on me, nice caramel champagne scent 🙂

  44. :

    3 out of 5

I recieved a sample of this perfume, and at first, I honestly didn’t like it. I grew to like it though. The caramel, champagne, and floral notes work together, and creates magic. The dark chocolate and caramel gives the perfume it’s sweet smell, but the champagne and floral notes edge it out. When I first smelled this perfume, I swore that it had rose in it, but then I read the description, and there was no rose. It’s really a unique fragrance.

  45. :

I can definitely smell the gourmand aspects of this scent the most, but something keeps it from being entirely foodie. I can not smell it directly, but I catch a whiff of the lilac every once in a while, and I’m thinking that’s what keeps it from overt gourmand for me.
I love the bottle, and the scent is likeable enough, but I wear this once in a great while, and always regret spraying it for the first hour or so. Then it mellows out into something much more snuggly and wearable. However, an hour or so later, the patchouli is pretty much all that remains, and that always gives me a bit of a headache. Which is probably why I do not spray it for another year.

This perfume is really different….it smells super warm creamy carmely delicious. I do not get alot of the floral notes on my skin but I do get the champagne & caramel big time. I just love this..it is so yummy.

I bought Golden Goddess in a mixed lot off Ebay .
On me it smelled like my 8yr-old self’s Rose Petal Place dolly along with hints of fruit and a well watered down patchouli. The bottle is pretty IMO,but it felt like the scent was rather juvenile(toy dolls)and generic(Very similar to United Colors of Benetton Essence of Woman-which I got in a set with shower gel)
A co-worker’s daughter was getting interested in fragrances and had her 5 yr B-day comming up so little one got this -and loves it from what my coworker tells me.

I can’t stand the celebrity whose name is on this fragrance, but perfume snobbery is pointless. It’s all about the juice for me. Golden Goddess is a pretty scent for cooler weather and I’m happy to have a decant in my collection, courtesy of Clairdelune. (Thanks!)
Golden Goddess is mostly vanilla and patchouli on me. I don’t detect any chocolate, but I get subtle nuances of champagne and lilac as it dries down. I do agree that it smells a bit like Avon Extraordinary, though I think Golden Goddess is actually a better fragrance. GG actually smells best about an hour or two into the journey, and it lasts 6+ hours, so you’ll get a decent amount of time to enjoy it.
I first tried it in hot weather, but I think it’s best appreciated in cooler weather, which allows the more delicate notes to blossom.
Suitable for work if applied sparingly, but spritz to your heart’s content for evenings. It’s subtle but sexy.

I bought this blind from an online vendor, based on reviews here on Fragrantica, and have zero regrets. I really like this scent and think it’s a good one to have on hand if you like somewhat linear, straight-forward, slightly dessert-y scents. And besides the price is right–at least in the U.S.
I can’t really pick out distinct notes in this scent. I mostly get sort of a non-descript, boozy-peachy impression, which isn’t at all bad. Ironically, peach is not one of the notes.
On me the lasting power is very good and it has garnered me a compliment or two, which is nice.

Got a this from another Fragrantican and am a little put off by the size and awkward shape of the bottle, which is short and fat, a real space hog, and difficult to spray because it’s hard to get my small hand around it. I did manage to apply a moderate spritz, which started out as strong alcohol fumes plus a sharp synthetic note. It gradually softened down into a fairly generic scent that I think of as mostly “spoiled vanilla” – vanilla that’s been sitting around so long that it’s gone bad or vanilla that’s been mixed with something it shouldn’t have. It’s most likely the combination of vanilla and carmel notes, and it’s really not an unpleasant scent, but it’s not one that I would go out of my way to experience. Once the caramel vanilla develops, it stays pretty much that way until it trails off into nothingness after a few hours. I really didn’t pick up any of the floral, woody, or amber notes that are allegedly in it.
This is not something that I’d use enough to warrant having 100 ml lounging around, taking up more than its fair share of space, so it will soon be moving on to a new home.

  54. :

    5 out of 5

Wonderful – I’ve been truly blessed with this blind purchase. A new 50ml edp costed me a song, and it is just the creamy-sweet scent that satiates my rare cravings for foody perfume. A luxuriously rich, caramel hued, calorie-free fix. Pretty, unique, and highly recommended!
Golden Goddess’s opening has a fruity/tropical accord. It reminds me of red berries without being overly tart or sweet. Spices kick up the tanginess, while lilacs smooth out the edges. There’s definitely a balance between sweet and sour, and a fizzy glamour throughout. The drydown is pure caramel, vallinaic and chocolatey. The longer Golden Goddess stays on skin, the sweeter it gets. By the end of the fragrance’s life (4-5 hours) the sweetness is a little unbearable, but luckily it doesn’t last much longer.
Overall, this is glam, sexy, diva, trendy, and a true golden smell. Bronze skin, beachy hair, designer jeans, hoop earrings, stunner shades. If Golden Goddess were a sound, it would be the effervescent camera shutter flashes of the paparazzi following at your heels.

To me, a ‘golden goddess’ would be something more like Estee Lauder’s ‘Azuree’ or ‘Knowing’. Still, KLS’s version is a budding demi-goddess, or at the very least, homecoming queen at a modest metropolitan high school. I find this really pleasant — a vanilla shimmering with lilac that lasts a long time on the skin, and even longer on the clothes. Despite the gourmandy caramel and chocolate in the basenotes, ‘Golden Goddess’ doesn’t gag you with sweetness. No need to fear overdoing it, this oriental kitty is de-clawed, and properly socialized. I like it.

Got this for a song today , did’nt know anything about it , but it looked fun.
I like Kimora’s kitty cat design anyways.
Very diva-ish , sexy, glam scent. I love smelling this one on my skin – a real treat .
Creamy chocolates and bubbly champagne ,oh so good and indulgent together are recreated perfectly in this perfume.
The veviter keeps this from smelling too sweet or cheap – keeps it mellow and very pleasant . Orchid gives it freshness and sexiness , lilac even more softness.
Golden Goddess is a golden warm , sparkling , very, very divalicious scent.I love it.
Stayed on my skin for 6+ hours .
11/27/09 This is alot like Avon’s Extraordinary , come to think about it , with the champagne and chocolates -but G. Goddess has alot more going for it, in my opinion , much better effect all around.

Ok, what am I missing here? On application, I get a noseful of strong alchohol reminding me of Aqua Net hairspray. Through the drydown, the alchohol remains in the background, barely concealed by a sweet nuance, possibly the vanilla.
    Champagne? Lilac? Caramel?
I’m thinking scented fingernail polish remover is closer to the mark.
I will concede, was in a bargain bin so may be a bad bottle. Sure hope so…

Very sparkling and glamorous smell,i like it very much. The top smells clearly a lot of champagne and then comes the caramelized scent. But the base reminds me a lot of chloe edp, very strange..I like chloe so its ok,but i didnt expect that it will turn out like that.Nothing cheap or bad about this.Smells exclusive and a high dose of glamour..

  65. :

While Goddess in my opinion was for the younger consumers, Golden Goddess is for women.
I am very impressed with this scent. The opening smells just like a glass of sparkling champagne mixed with caramel and rich, dark chocolate, which I can assure you, smells divine.
Golden Goddess smells classy and elegant, not at all cheap or plasticky. This fragrance is heavenly, sweet, rich and sexy, all rolled into one.
The drydown is also very beautiful which is great because most of the time the base notes usually let me down. It smells a little like coconut smothered in chocolate with a slight hint of vanilla, strange but delicious. Even smelling this fragrance right now is making me hungry.
This fragrance’s only real let down was the lasting power, but for the inexpensive price it wouldn’t hurt to reapply every now and then. I highly recommend.

BPGG is definitely one of the perfumes i always stay full on! the champagne notes are very apparent and beautiful. BPGG is SO seductive. but not in a dark way.. in more of a glamorous way. Everyone asks me what it is that im wearing when i wear it. men and women both! it has a moderate lasting quality. i wish it would last a bit longer.. but for the price, you can buy a lot!

i hate this one it’s smells cheap and like an old sluty lady it smells like rebel rose by the Avon brand Mark.

I was disappointed by GOLDEN GODDESS; going of the fragrance notes I expected to love it. As it turned out I couldn’t pick out any of the fragrance notes, though overall the scent is sweet.
GOLDEN GODDESS seemed ‘sparkling’ on first application, with a nice & feminine floral heart. It was the base that put me off. It just seemed ‘off’ when it mixed with the heart notes.
However, this didn’t give me a headache, so we are moving upwards from the original GODDESS.

Wow! This is amazing! The champagne note is amazing! But the notes on this site is wrong. The right notes are:
    Top: Bubbling champagne
Middle: Blue lilies and night orchid
Base notes: Caramel, vanilla flower, patchouli and vetiver.
It’s an unique rich expensive smell. This is a masterpiece!

To tell you the truth I couldn’t really smell the vanilla as much as I was hoping too.
This smelled more floral to me then anything. It also had that childish note that smells similar to the one the strawberry shortcake doll & her friends had when I was younger.
It is very pretty & girly & it is stronger & less delicate then the original Goddess perfume but it is still very nice.
It is definitely a young, synthetic perfume thats a bit cheap smelling but still pretty.

I don’t know whether I had a bad sample but all I could smell was alcohol and no ingredients. I have yet to test this and I was looking forward to it too 🙁

I like it. It’s a lot more subtle than I thought but it matches baby phat. : There’s definitely a “golden”-ness about this perfume that makes it lovely and sophisticated! It’s a “Kimora” perfume for sure. Not sure that it’s right for everyone though. Also, it lasts an okay amount of time, but you can feel it wear off. As it wears off I think it gets nicer because it’s not as harsh.

Such a sharp, sweet, sexy opening!I love lilac and here it was played really well and original, moving around it`s sweet notes rather then fresh. It lingers for a while, but unfortunately quickly dries down to something soapy and common – you can barely feel all that chocolate-y goodness, and it`s already gone….

I waver back and forth on this scent. One day I like it, and the next I don’t. I guess it all depends on my mood. It’s unique.

This is one of my faves! I love this scent. When I wear it I keep smelling myself (sounds funny I know but I do.) It’s just goregous!
