Description

ATKINSONS in collaboration with PerfumeHolding is launching two new fragrances of the collection The Oud. The collection is dedicated to oud and reflects the idyllic chapter of time when two large and powerful civilizations, England and the Orient, were intertwined perfectly. Fragrances of the collection are inspired by romantic desert intrigues of sheiks, kings and emissaries, as well as by rare and precious types of oud, reminding us this time of Gertrude Bell, Victorian queen of desert and Faisal I, the legendary Arabic king.

“The smoky power of His Majesty The Oud is every bit the bold equal of its protagonist, King Faisal I. Confidante of Gertrude Bell, and trusted ally of Lawrence of Arabia, Faisal was a natural leader and a legendary figure of Arabian history.

Of princely Bedouin lineage, he fought, charmed, and negotiated with brilliance. His charisma and
fierce elegance are perfectly matched in what can only be described as an epic fragrance. The intense smokiness of the scent is the bold alliance of a rare and exclusive quality of natural oud essence from Laos together with an exceptionally complex lapsang souchong tea accord. Conjuring up the scent of the saddles of Arabian stallions, the Lapsang Souchong accord inprints its smoky and leathery nuances onto the voluptuous woodiness of Cedarwood & Sandalwood, Surrendering only to the hypnotic aura of Oud and vanilla.

The ensemble creates a fragrance of intensely masculine refinement, daring in its olfactive conception, as focused and penetrating as the famous desert gaze of the king.”

Fragrances Her Majesty The Oud and His Majesty The Oud are available in luxurious flacons in gold, as a 100ml Eau de Parfum.
Atkinsons His Majesty The Oud was launched in 2016.

I really love this fragrance. It is extremely well blended and falls in the same category of tamed oud/vanilla such as tom ford oud wood. The addition of cloves and tea note is brilliant and gives the fragrance a burnt woods dimension that mimics an actual oud smoke. The oud used is very light, smooth and natural. The hole blend actually smells very natural, expensive and niche quality. Projection is ok and the longevity is good.

Trust me just try 24 gold by scent story. Very very similar.

One of my favorites in my collection. Always look for something unique with a nice kick, after smelling about 20 perfumes with the sales-woman, His majesty the oud really caught my attention. Amazing scent with great performance.

Hey Jason, for a more accessible/mass market smoky wood, with oud, try YSL M7. The reformulated version, in a square bottle. Punchy smoke from the first hit, but mellows on the dry down. The vintage M7, is also beautiful, but softer and more sensual, for a closer, more intimate encounter, perhaps.

it has such a beautiful and tamed oud note, it’s not harsh and medicinal. projection and longevity is on the beast mode side. if you’re an oud fan then you should try this.

I only have one problem with this fragrance – my girlfriend hates it.
If anyone can recommend a more mass-appealing scent similar to this (that burned wood scent) I would be grateful.
    10/10 fragrance for me 🙁

Sampled it last night and it reminds me of Amouage interlude man. Great scent though

Nice …too much vanilla. Can smell burned wood but doesn’t have balls like some of the oud perfumes. I like medicine and animalic ouds. This one is little bit boring. Not bad, just boring especialy for money they asking for plus I also think it could be more appreciated by youngsters ( 25- ) Yous can keep it and give me jungle!!! Peace and Love

I just received this today. It is very unique to anything I have in my collection. I’d say its closest to an Amouage than anything else I have. It opens with a strong incense note. It dries down into a very wearable vanilla-oud scent. The longevity seems good. It doesn’t blow me away, but is nice. I need to give it a few wearings to know for certain if I like it. For now, I’d give it a 4 out of 5.

I imagine myself sitting at a fireplace enjoying some earl grey with a shot of rum and some vanilla biscuits. That pretty much sums it up.
