I had this perfume back then when it came in a beautiful star-shaped bottle, circa 2003. Now they put it in the traditional boring Marina de Bourbon classic bottle. I remember that it used to be cheaper, but now it’s sort of mainstream and got costlier. Still worth it, though.
The fragrance itself is marvelously made, ambery-woody-sweet, it sits close to the skin and embraces with a subtle warmth. Really comforting.

I had the Marina De Bourbon from 1994. Asteria is a pale copy of that scent. Asteria is wonderful, skinclose, soft, very sexy but pale. Absolutely worth trying, as all Marina De Bourbon fragrances are! Perfect every-day-scent or for the office. I love the Plum/Musk/Amber/Rose- mix.

I love this perfume! <3

Very low volume sandalwood cedar and musk scent.
Too tame for my taste.

Although the plum, cloves, peony and so forth sound lovely, in practice, and on my skin, Asteria is a soft sandalwoody cedar, or maybe a cedary sandalwood?
Emphasis on the word “soft” though.
Asteria may be ideal for those who are timid about strong perfumes or in search of “office” perfumes, since it lasts all of 2 hours and has exceedingly discreet sillage.
Because of its significant lack in the projection and duration department, I would give Asteria a 5 out of 10.
Definitely not stellar, but not completely lacking in olfactive potential somewhere in the evanescently pretty woody basenotes.

I don’t like this perfume.
from the begaining i liked this very much but later after i bought more perfumes I started to not use it at all.
the fragrance is sweet and very girly but I don’t like this one.

I adore peonies, those big, blowsy blooms with their divine musky fragrance. The mixture of notes is what tempted me to try this, and I’m not disappointed I did, although it’s not quite what I’d hoped.
Unlike asilverfire614’s experience, I was lucky enough to get full-blown peony with a fainter, background bunch of velvety roses painted in watercolours. This dries down to a very light amber & cedar (I don’t particularly sense any sandalwood or plum). The cloves are there all the time, but more faintly than I wanted. No vanilla at all for me, and again this is a shame as I would have liked at least a little.
I feel the volume is turned down on this fragrance – it’s still lovely & I don’t regret buying it, but one wishes they had been a little braver. Perhaps it’s just too refined for me? Perhaps I’m just too greedy? I want to ask the person adding the spices… (in the manner of Oliver Twist) “Please, Sir, can I have some more?”

I sampled this in the mall a few days ago and when I looked it up on here I was surprised that it’s listed as a floral woody musk. To my nose it would be considered a floral fruity gourmand…
Opening was very sweet plum with a touch of rose. Never detected juniper, peony, or cloves. What I DID soon detect was lots of sweet vanilla…which is really strange since that’s not even listed in the notes.
It was sweet and edible even throughout the dry-down. Lasted about four hours. I’m confused about the vanilla and was surprised to see juniper, peony, cloves, cedar, etc listed in the notes.
Doesn’t smell at all like it sounds! I will say that it’s very similar to a bunch of other floral fruity gourmands…nothing remarkable about it, in my opinion. (Except for the really cool futuristic space bottle! 🙂
