I Love this fragrance, one of my favourites. It’s musky/smokey/sweet Oud with a freshness from the bergamot and blood orange. Inoffensive but beautiful. Very unisex

meh. seriously disappointed in this. seriously SERIOUSLY disappointed…
it would suffice if we got a blast of the aromachemical ‘black agar’ or even the medicinal band-aid note MFK, kilian and the like are using. that would’ve been great. but this ‘oud’ is here today, gone today. i’m not joking…i sprayed it on, smelt the oud, and then 15 minutes later it was gone. gone gone GONE.
for me, the kicker was the fact that the slightly cryptic name conjured up an image that wasn’t matched. assam is a region in north-east india, traditionally known for producing this HORRID, STINKY oud which i happen to LOVE. it smells like the stables before/after livestock have been in. i know it doesn’t sound much, but after you smell it, you BOND with the oud and forge a deep, rich and textured back story with it that increases each time you reminisce. This scent gives NONE of that. this scent, going on name alone, reminds me of airplane food. the description teases. no, there’s no seasonal vegetables steamed to perfection. there’s no line caught skipjack tuna on a bed of fluffy jasmine rice. no. it’s overboiled beans with cold tinned tuna on sloppy white rice. that’s what this is.
having said that, this perfume smells okay.
just no assam oud.
and not much oud either.
but still nice…

Slightly cheaper version of some of the nice Armani ones (eg: Cuir Noir). Very lovely sweet oud.

I can’t believe I’m saying this but here goes. I’m craving a Crabtree and Evelyn fragrance. It is unbelievable. Gorgeous, smoky, heavy, deep and sensual. Oud and musk I get, I didn’t see the patchouli. Bottle is glorious too.
Little update, this is lasting unbelievably well on my skin, if someone loves me ‘i need this, ‘

Oudh, musk patchouli thru and thru – LOVE but is a bit too masculine; a very long lasting but rather softish silage – would buy it but would have it with some light flower as it is overwhelming – back to Aromatics Elixir

On the sprey card when i first tested this i could smell a lovely bergamot with a slight smokeyness and thought it was ok but nothing special, but when i tried it on my skin the second time round nothing.
after about 10 mins that nothing manages to produce the faintest musk ever…but no oudh at all!
My honest opinion… the box it comes in has more smell and is not worth paying even a fraction of the cost for it.
I must add that i think the packaging on this new CT&E line is beautiful and would look amazing on any dresser.
