New, personal collection he has recently presented, was named Metamorphoses of Colours and Moods.
Colours are closely connected with mood. Mark Baxton demonstrated secrets clearly and simply by connecting colours and person’s character and mood in his collection of seven fragrances, with the offered colour palette. Choose your colour and you will be offered a range of notes and aromas.
Collection Metamorphoses of colours and moods encompasses seven perfumes with the following names:
Wood & Absinth
Black Angel
Hot Leather
English Breakfast
Around Midnight
Sounds & Vision
Nameless.
Around Midnight teleports us to a jazz-club in the heart of Paris, city of light. The perfume opens with aromas of pepper, galbanum, chamomile, with a heart full of jasmine and styrax, patchouli, cedar and labdanum in base.
Around Midnight was launched in 2008.

This is not a bad one. It’s quite ok, actually, but it’s unfortunately is by Mark Buxton.I don’t understand why some perfumeurs deliver better fragrances when they work for other brands instead of their own. When I think of Mr Buxton what comes to my mind is Comme Des Garcons 2, or the original Comme Des Garcons, or Ouarzazate, or CDG White. Masterpieces! Around midnight is a smoky, dark and minimalistic frankincense sfragrance (even if incense it’s not listed among the notes). It’s quite ok, if you don’t know any better.
Sillage is barely acceptable, lasting power no more than 2-3 hours.
Rating: 6.5/10

This should be called around midnight in a church that burns incense all day long. Not a fan.

Really gentle labdanum and styrax, has no common thing with those religious old women just from the church.

Wood and resinous incense, very like that burned at Midnight Mass. In fact, it’s very like Etro’s Messe de Minuit, a personal favorite. Not different enough for me to buy this as well, but I like it very much.

I think this is a cold and holy incense. What I would probably wear if I visited Stonehenge. I love it!

Perfumes by Mark Buxton are always a bit the same. “Around Midnight” smells like “MB 03” and both are similar to “Comme des Garcons” “2 Man” – a Mark Buxton scent, too. They´re all not bad – you feel like being in a catholic church (because of the incense) – but in my opinion a perfume designer should be more creative.
You can also compare Linari and MB 02 …
