Energetic, vivid and cool summer holiday scent opens with intense notes of tangy pear and grapefruit. Its core contains a mixture of crystal ice and Posidonia sea weed, deposited on light woody base notes of sandalwood and white cedar.

Jacques Cavallier, who created the original editions, also signs these new edition.

It is available as 50 ml EDT.

Aqva Pour Homme Marine Toniq was launched in 2011.

    This review might be weird…
I smelled this at a department store once (!) many many summers ago and I have romanticized this fragrance ever since. So much so that I’m willing to call this fragrance the best summer scent that I do not own. The entire scent from beginning to end is “shut and take my money” amazing. There is a saltiness to it that immediately transports you to the beach. I must find it and buy it!

Put in a condensed manner: Spicy Seaweed.
Doing a wrist spritz comparison between this and Marine: Marine has a clear lemon/grapefruit open and Toniq is almost exclusively seaweed/terragon/rosemary/wasabi. Marine is saltier and overall subtler with some floral in it. Two hours later, Marine is a lightly citrus floral and Toniq is a slightly sweet aromatic sandalwood. Marine is best summarized as a citrus aquatic and Toniq is an aquatic aromatic (meaning more focused on herbal notes than water notes).
The performance of this is very good in terms of sillage and duration, sillage is as loud as Atlantiqve and endures for around six hours but I catch whiffs of it up to twelve hours later, definitely in EDT territory than tonic territory.
There’s salt in there and the citrus is brief and subdued, but definitely in the refreshing grapefruit category and not the sweet orange range. Sandalwood emerges in a few minutes, taking backseat at first to an herbal bouquet of seaweed, terragon, rosemary and wasabi but later in the drydown, sandalwood is the star. I blind bought this based on reviews and don’t regret. It’s a refreshing scent, but you’ve got to be in the mood to smell spicy seaweed for this to work. I’ve also layered it with Free Time to get more citrus/ginger/woods in the fume cloud and it’s a good pairing.

No no no no no no no no…. please, don’t listen to the people who says it smells like fish. If it really smelled like fish, it wouldn’t be a cologne. It smells like an aquatic, amazing, soft smell! It’s one of my all time fragrances

Aqua Pour Homme Marine Toniq is the cologne I use when I go to the beach. My friends always tell me that I smell like the beach, before we get to the beach. I love the aquatic notes along with the seaweed. It lasts and last even after I go in the water. I get lots of compliments.

At first, I thought this was the closest thing to replacing my old Versace Metal Jeans, so I had to buy a bigger bottle though my smaller Bvlgari is still almost full. I think the bigger bottle I got has been reformulated as I’ve compared them and the bigger one doesn’t seem to smell like the first bottle I got so it is no longer used. That second bottle I got smelled more like Aqva Pour Homme. Now, going back to VMJ comparison, I was wrong. Only the dry down has that hint of similarity with VMJ, close to skin scent, nothing more.
Great for 3 seasons except summer, for me. Safe for office wear, fresh and clean scent. Still hunting for VMJ replacement though.

For the first half hour, it’s hard to hold on to its bitterness. Was very disappointing. But… There comes seaweed and aquatic notes from deep and gives the freshness of seashore with average sillage. Not everyones cup of tea though…

This honestly doesn’t smell of fish! Because of it’s accurate depiction of marine smells, I think people are making a subconscious association that, thankfully doesn’t actually manifest itself in the perfume 🙂
This is a great aquatic and, although distinctive, does have aspects in common with Kenzo Homme and Boucheron Jaipur Pour Homme Limited Edition. I’m delighted, because Jaipur Ltd Edtn is difficult to get now, and this will do the job in its individual way.
This is beautifully composed, as Aqva is, and I will now have to buy the other 3 Aqvas by Bvlgari too!

Excellent for summer nights,i wont wear it in summer days as it might be over salty or fishy or what so ever!!! but i m impressed by the longevity..

It really does have the fish smell. It is the MARINE Water scent. But it’s nice fragrance. A bit cloying for me I think.

It’s pretty strong for a tonic. Great quality grapefruit-aquatic with wet fresh notes on top of a dry woody background. Reminds me of the original Kenzo homme.

I love the idea of this fragrance! It’s exciting, and edgey. But, with that said, it has gone way overboard with the seaweed. I smells of washed up, dead, decaying fish on a windy day at the beach. The top of this fragrance is beautiful and bursting with citrus! Not once did I get Pear though. Seems very hard to pull of. Definitely more of a casual, day-on-the-beach scent for the risk taker.

Smells similar to Aqua Marine which is my favourite and this one oddly seems to last longer. There’s more citrus in this it seems than Aqua Marine and it’s sharp to begin with then mellows to a sweet citrus scent. Aqua Marine on the other hand has one of the best grapefruit openings. I like both. I hate the original Aqua though. Too much saltiness in that one. This one is just perfect along with Aqua Marine.

Wow, wow, wow!! I love Aqva Pour Homme Marine Toniq by Bvlgari. I really do not smell the “fishy” in this. It smells fresh and summery and I like that. It reminds me of the beaches here in Miami. One thing I do smell is tobacco though. It lasts a very long time on me.

Does this really smell of fish?.
I was considering buying this but the comments about fish put me off.
How can something described as fresh also be fishy at the same time?
The online amazon price seems a bargain for 100ml.

very good summer cologne. smells like a light breez by the ocean.
i live in Minnesota, but i visit southern california in the summers and i like this cuz it reminds me of being at the beach.
i like this one over the original aqua.
overall i give it a 7/10.. its not very versatile.. good day time wear in the summer. thats about it.

It’s not such a big hit. Deffinitely reminds Aqua Marine- nothing new in this fragrance .I preferred Aqua tonique version. More sofisticated and long lasting than this one. Instead to clone again & again the “Aqua” version’s Bulgary could create a brand new and stunning perfume for men.

A flanker of a flanker, and the best of the Aqva series. Salty, sweaty melon concoction with peppermint on top. Bravo.

Lasts seriously more than other Aqva’s.I think its the best Bvlgari fragrance. For young people, refreshing smell.I LOVE it!

Similar to A-M, but the briny scent is toned down a bit- citrus seems to be turned up a bit higher, so it appears to be a different balancing of the same notes- overall, the effect makes it more ethereal/transparent than original A-M- and, for me, greater wearability- though I do like both for when I’m in a seascape mood.

The opening is just really freaking sharp citrus note. It gets a bit sour. Then the seaweed kicks in and it gets even more sour, and fishy.
Not the kind of perfume that everyone would like or could pull it off. But you should give it a try. Kinf od interesting

I just wanna add that today this Aqva Marine Toniq smells similar to Womanity on my skin but without the sugary sweetness! The seaweed is very pronounced today, and it comes on like caviar; salty sweet and slightly fishy. It’s not bad! It’s quite different from everyday men’s fragrance. Perhaps today’s weather helps bring out this saltiness.

On my skin, it’s very salty, fishy, linear, a lot spicy. Better or worse, give it a try and pick your choice. Don’t blind buy this ^^
    7/10

I do not have the original or have i even smelled it. I do have the original Aqua. When I first tried it the toniq was overwhelming and the rest of the scent seemed ordinary. I love Bvlgari but figured this was not goon to work. My wife however thought I liked it and suprised me with a bottle. I have to say it has really grown on me. I think I like it better than the original Aqua.
This is not a fragrance that stands out in a crowd or is even anything overly exciting, but I love it for two reasons. The toniq opening is refreshing without being a blast of citrus witch I hate and the dry down has less musk. Two spays of this last about ten hours at work and it does not offend any of my coworkers. It is hard to find a scent that will last that long and is not overpowering, plus I like it.

Well…tried this today: maybe the beginning can smell good and newer than the original with a bit of tonic vibe, but after 2 min it’s like the original one, no differences at all!
As it’s very much like the original Aqua Marine I tried to give it a go and bought it today…it’s sure the best between the two toniqs, as the aqua toniq smells worse than the original Aqua. Will use this at the poolside 🙂 So fresh!

I have not tried this one, so I cannot write a review, but I think those who smelled fish in aqua marine must have gotten bad juice.

Agree with @nattonline, I am the person who dislike the original marine (too fishy for me), this one add sharp citrus at the beginning and tone down the rest of the salty(fishy) smell. Very versatile with average longevity (3-4 hours).
Fresh summery scent, remind me sunny seaside, beautiful beaches with edge less shore line – paradise.
    6/10 from me.
