Description

Aqva Divina is the first feminine fragrance from the Bvlgari Aqva collection, which has so far included only masculine scents. Bvlgari Aqva Divina comes out in February 2015, inspired by Botticelli’s painting The Birth of Venus. The fragrance is announced as very bright and sensual.

Its floral-aquatic composition signed by perfumer Alberto Morillas opens with aromas reminiscent of the salty sea; there are accords of bergamot, salt crystals and red ginger. Magnolia and quince form the heart of the perfume, which is followed by the base of beeswax, precious woods and amber.

The face of the perfume is fashion model Magdalena Frackowiak. The fragrance is available as 25, 40 and 60 ml Eau de Toilette.

I don’t know why but to me it seems that Bvlgary perfumes are reminiscent of the vintage perfumes, heavy and mature. I tried out this perfume and it’s very sharp.

    * These are my personal experiences/thoughts with this fragrance. Yours/others may differ. *
    Initial – ginger + salt + bergamot
    Drydown – wood + amber
    Duration – 7-9 hours
    Projection – moderate
My Experiences – A nice scent that makes me think of lying on the sand in the afternoon sun. Not sure why I get this mental image, as it’s not really “beachy” aside from the opening salt note. After the fresh, yet warm opening, it dries down to a nice woody amber. To me, this is the scent of a sophisticated woman who knows what she wants.
Quick Thoughts – warm, woody, mildy spicy

I love love love LOVEEE this!!
My mind goes back to when I first crossed paths with this, I had brought 2 new perfumes.
And the sales guy literally stopped me, just to give me a sample, I laughed and told him “I’ve got 2 new ones right here” he smiled & his response was “trust me you’ll be back…
Guess what? He was on the money!!! I got home, and couldn’t stop smelling it.
I was all “omg” “yesss it’s different” “IT’S SO DAMN GOOD” lol.
I went back to the store on the same day, and purchased my mini 25ml (that’s all they had)
The guy started laughing and smirked, because yes, he knew I’d like it.
Now I have my 65ml on my shelf, and another 65ml back up stored away..
You need this ladies! We all do 🙂
It’s salty, sweet, smells a tad honey-ish to my nose.
This develops wonderfully on me. Changes throughout the day, and that’s what I love about it.
    IT AMAZES ME!
Sillage: 3-4 hours. (Whiffs here & there)
    Longevity: 8 hours. ❤️
    The perfect summer scent.

If you go to the sea just take with you this fragrance – it is like a part of it.

I grew up in a seaside town in Queensland (AUS) and we would spend all seasons at the beach. Winter was a particular favourite time for me – the water was always cool, the sun always warm (our standard weather days still reached around 22 degrees celsius) and the sand was just the right temperature during the day. We lived not far from the ocean, and when the wind was right, that salty ocean breeze would fill our home.
This fragrance captures the essence of cool breeze on warm sun-kissed skin – it is a warm day, and your feet first contact the cold shore, giving you goosebumps. The second I smelled it I had to have it; it was as if my twelve year old self took over and next second I had my own pearl to take home. I definitely identify the salt and ginger above all other notes, with a lovely warm spice upon the dry down, which ultimately keeps this fragrance classed as an oriental. It is undeniably unisex and resembles the sea breeze flawlessly.
I live a long way away from the sea nowadays, and the carelessness of childhood seems so out of reach, but Divina lets me keep a magical piece of both. As long as I can smell this, my heart will be happy.

It starts out really nice and unique but to me it smells relatively conventional beachy as it dries down. My friend said I smelled like a department store lol. Other than that it’s okay but I won’t get a whole bottle. This got me into salt scents, my favorite part of it is the salty ginger. I voted “like”
    Composition: 3.5/5, Quality 3/5

Unfortunately this EDT smells like laundry detergent on my skin. The ginger is slightly dry and too strong for my liking and the quince is intensely sweet, a combination that does not smell good to my nose. The magnolia gets lost in all this and is barely noticeable.
Overall, this scent is too clean and spicy for my taste. If you like squeaky clean scents then this is a good choice for warm temperatures. It’s also perfectly unisex even though it’s marketed towards women.

Beautiful, soft floral at the core, but enough going on at the surface to make this a unique and lovely masterpiece for women. I bought this for my wife and it is heavenly. It has a lightness about it without being weak. I love the fact that it isn’t overly sweet or sickeningly fruity. Everything is balanced and beautiful, just like the lady I love. This is how I want her to smell. Divine, to be sure.

Am I the only one who smell it as the female version of aqva amara ? 😀
This’s very nice I only dislike the Ginger note it killed the freshness .
    however it’s very nice.

    First a story:
This is one of the female fragrances I really wanted. I knew it smells unisex. I got it for my sister-in-law for her birthday, but since she did not invite me out at least for a drink or by my brother’s place at least to eat a few cookies, I KEPT IT FOR MYSELF!!! I should thank her for not inviting me out because I love this fragrance!!! 😀 😀 😀
    About Aqua Divina:
When I first sprayed it on my skin I got an oud-citrus smell. This faded away quickly to leave a soft-spicy-aquatic scent. I LOVE IT. To be more precise it is an aquatic-ginger scent. From my point of view, I find it something between GA Acqua di Gio and YSL L’Homme.
Longevity is above a those 2 mentioned and the silage is decent. Gets you through the day.
    Great summer scent!

    Smells niche!!
Beautiful pearl like bottle reminds me that Bvlgari is indeed a jewelry brand.
I bought the 40ml bottle to be able to hold it single handedly and to also put in a small purse to carry around.
Although, the sillage and longevity are very modest, it’s rather great that I don’t have to dilute my favorite winter orientals with anhydrous ethanol to make them wearable in summer. It’s non offensive but stronger than a skin scent perfume. AQVA DIVINA can be worn in both cold and hot weather, difinately unisex, maybe because of the very soft ginger nuance. Especially oriental fragrance lovers would love this jem 〜❤︎
It’s discounted but still available to stock up searching online!!

If you dig aquatic, fresh scents, ignore the naysayers! I chose this scent for my first Scentbird delivery based on the notes alone, and I was not disappointed! This fragrance is a salty sea water gem! This is how I would imagine a mermaid would smell, and I am living for it! Although there are no direct aquatic notes, every note blended together creates a fascinating, fresh summer scent. Aqva Divina is dominated by sea salt, ginger and beachy driftwood (to my nose), blended beautifully with quince and bergamot. The magnolia shines through and can make this scent SEEM floral-dominant (if you focus too hard on it), but for me, it’s the magnolia that creates that aquatic aroma. A great daytime spring/summer scent, to be spritzed fresh out of the shower or before hitting the beach, or anytime you need a little pick me up! It could even be worn as a classy, summer date night scent. This scent can be fresh, classy, sexy or even mysterious, depending on the woman (or man) wearing it. It’s not in my top favorite fragrances of all time, but I definitely enjoy it and it will have its place in my summer rotation.

This is lovely! My favorite salty by far. And the lovely quince and bergamot are just perfect!
Such a fresh, elegant perfume.❤️ What I expect from Mr. Morillas!

I’m either on French Riviera or I’m on a Mediterranean cruise, all the women are wearing white, flashing designer labels and perfect teeth. That’s what Divina smells like: a wearable, retro (think 80s) chic scent.
Nothing too complicated or really all that interesting for me, but still nice in the summer heat. This is front loaded with ginger and bergamot, then turning slightly floral before it becomes less interesting in the wood base. The salt accord stays throughout the composition.
Surprisingly strong for an EDT. Sillage and projection stay close to the body.

Every single ‘salty’ perfume i’ve tried, i hated. The salt note just puts me off hugely… till now.
My goodness this is beautiful!! Instant love!
As soon as i smelt it, it whisked me away to a little cottage garden on a cliff top, right by the beach. I imagined myself sitting there, watching the ocean, taking in the smells… it was bliss!
The salt note is really subtle on me, though definitely noticable, and i get the bergamot and woods, it all adds up to a kind of driftwood type smell, but in the nicest possible way.
It really is beachy, perfect for a hot summer’s day. Ok, so it’s not the strongest of perfumes, but for £16 for 25ml i don’t mind topping it up every hour or so!

  16. :

A wonderful and different fragrance from the usual summer perfumes. I agree that it could be unisex but more inclined on the feminine side in my opinion. Smell of ginger, salt and quince. But do I feel a discreet smell of … coconut? I do not know, but anyway it is a more special perfume that does not fit into the aquatic category. It’s way too spicy. Oh my God, how much I love spices!

A masterpiece. Woody in cold time and fabulous sexy summer scent in hot days. The bottle is gorgeous. This is the classy Bvlgari I love !

On me, this scent is like beach sand warmed by the sun. It’s very dry and salty when it first enters your nose, but the lovely aquatic magnolia, spicy ginger, and tart quince hit the back of your throat on the finish. It reminds me a bit of Dune, but with a pretty aquatic back end. Perfect for sultry summer evenings, but I also can’t wait to see how it performs in cooler weather this fall.

  19. :

This is interesting. On me it is primarily a pretty magnolia floral with a bit of fruity quince. However the details keep it out of pretty princess territory and make it something more avant guarde. The opening has a distinctly fishy scent that contrasts with the floral in a way that’s not quite seaside atmospheric or skanky just interesting without becoming unpleasant. The dry down is a sandalwood and amber haze that leaves the magnolia in tact.
This is pretty, but never just pretty and always interesting.

I know it sounds ridiculous, but this is my bf in a bottle. Maybe it had the same fresh spicy accord with Chanel Bleu but it’s the salty smell that remind me of him.
When I first smelt it from afar, it carried a fresh melon scent like damp laundry had just been washed. But when I actually sprayed it, I got a splash of sweet salty spicy lemon juice into my nostrils. But I’m glad cuz this phase faded out very fast, or else it would be another oriental scent I’m trying to avoid.
It’s long lasting, has a discreet character. For me it’s almost like skin scent. I tend to sweat a lot, and it blend well with my skin chemistry for not standing out awkwardly like other floral parfums.

  21. :

Where to begin!? This is surprising.. the notes appear soft and gentle when you read about them, but when you spray.. wow! That’s a powerhouse and a lot more oriental than I expected. It starts off heavy and sweet, almost like a fruitchouli. Then it calms down and there is a note that behaves like a mentholy orange blossom that keeps standing out to me, it may be the ginger note. This is by no means a fresh scent. It will be pleasing to oriental lovers and will be a bit much for those who like aquatic scents.

Aqva divina you are a one of a kind creation.
I had this ‘gem’ a while back in a 25ml purse size. I remember the first time I smelt it..
    It was heavenly❤️
Definitely a salty, sweet, spicy scent, jeez what a combo, seriously!!
This is in my top 10 for sure.
    I repurchased this today in a 65 ml 😉 which’ll last me a while.
The first bottle was like a marble (quiet cute) however the 65ml bottle literally reminds me of a pearl, in the ocean, surrounded by star fish, dolphins and every other beautiful sea creatures.
    It’s elegant & sophisticated.
    Longevity: 1 spritz 5 to 6 hours.
    Imagine another 3 sprays 😉

Maybe there really is something to the body chemistry thing as I can’t understand why this one gets so much hate. I really like it. To me it’s a sweet, tangy, slightly salty floral. Very sophisticated, feminine, and maybe even a little creamy. I don’t think it’s sharp or particularly strong (actually wish it was stronger), and thankfully nothing aquatic about it to my nose. Bvlgari as a house just seems to work for me. I think this one will get a lot of use this summer.

This smells like men’s cologne. I don’t get any aquatic notes (water, watermelon, oceanic/marine anything) and instead I find this to be a strong hit of mastic gum and cardamom. It’s very spicy, resinous and woodsy if anything, and definitely not aquatic (nothing like Cool Water or the ilk) and it’s not a summer scent as most aquatics are. I think it’s a unique scent but completely marketed incorrectly. There are better feminine aquatic scents than this for sure.

Schizophrenic in a gooooood way. Strange. Salty and interesting. Love it

This one really blooms and performs superb in extreme heat (>35 celsius) and turns out to be a huge compliment getter from men, which I didn’t expect since it’s such an odd scent at first. Too bad where I live it is almost never this hot, but this will be my favorite holiday scent for sure!

  27. :

    4 out of 5

This is a rather unusual fragrance. It starts off very cold-spicy, almost masculine, with ginger as the standout note, but then it softens a bit to reveal the boozy quince. Unfortunately on my skin it doesn’t last more than an hour; but this might have to do with the fact that I’m testing it now when its very cold outside (a few degrees below zero), and this fragrance was obviously made to be worn in warmer weather. So I might test it again in a few months, to see whether it would develop better.

  28. :

    4 out of 5

What a beautiful warm weather scent! Bergamot, salt and ginger notes open the perfume. Bergamot flies away in the first ten minutes which makes room for the sensual magnolia. Quiche turns this perfume sweeter, which is nice. The base smells woody and blonde. Wonderful!

  29. :

    4 out of 5

My initial thought is: it smells like a salty, beachier, younger sister to YSL Mon Paris ! Same musky, fruity undertone, but of course not identical – not even close – but they have a similar drydown, which I just love. A very musky dry down in both.
I was very hestitant towards this, as I’m not a fan of citrussy, fresh, sporty aquatics, and the fact that I cannot stand ginger.
But boy I’m glad I tried it anyways! Beautiful, but very strong, bergamot opening. Very mediterrenian, and salty. It very quickly dries down and becomes softer, more smooth, and something lemony. I think it is the quince, but I have never smelled a quince, so I’m not really sure how it smells.
After some times it is more like a lighter white floral, with something citrussy – like lemon peel – and salt. Lots of salt. But also something musky, it might be the combination of woods and beeswax. It suit it perfectly, and turns this otherwise sporty, almost masculine, combination very ladylike and feminine. It makes it fresher rather than manly.
If I should describe the fragrance with a feeling or sensation, it would be as skin that has been baking in the sun all day by the sea in southern Europe, and then has had a shower, and in the cooler night goes out for a drink in bare shoulders and a strap dress in a small vacation city in France, such as Saint Tropez. Baked, sunny skin, that has been in the salty water all day, and now are cooled down.
Projects very well and last for ages. Bottle is absolutely stunning, but I think the fragrance smells like something in a turqouise bottle 🙂

(review from a man, tested on my girlfriend)
Absolute amazing juice from the first sniff till the last. Opens with a very very fresh and bright marine/sea notes with a hint of bergamot and orange peel. Unforunately (?) I can not detect any salty or spicy/ginger notes. ½-1 hour later the sea notes fades away and then come the mid part of the scent which also very lovely. The combination of magnolia and the quince is perfectly balanced and very long lasting. The base is well composed too: creamy, barely sweet woody notes. With less magnolia, maybe this scent easily could be unisex. Good job Mr. Morillas
    – classic sping/summer daytime scent, but not too versatile
    – sillage is slightly better than average, longevity around 6-7 hours on skin
    – safe blind buy
    Scent (open, top-mid): 8.5/10 (x2)
    Scent (drydown, base): 8.5/10 (x2)
    Sillage: 5.5/10
    Longevity: 6.5/10
    Uniqueness: 7/10
    Versatility: 7/10
    Total: 7.5/10

I agree wholeheartedly with missk; Aqva Divina is a very well done fragrance that is absolutely beautiful and very versatile. Just the right thing to make you feel fresh, clean, polished and smelling wonderful on a hot day.

  32. :

    5 out of 5

I very rarely enjoy floral aquatics. There are very few aquatics that I’ll even deem worthy enough to touch my skin. Bvlgari’s Aqva Divina is one of the best floral aquatics I have smelt in an extremely long time.
If you like ginger as a fragrance note, you definitely need to try Aqva Divina if you haven’t already. It’s a beautiful blend of salty, citrusy and spicy on my skin, smelling more natural rather than synthetic.
Although marketed as feminine, Aqva Divina could easily transcend the gender boundaries and be worn by men as well as women. If I were ever to move to the Greek Islands I would take a bottle of Aqva Divina with me to scent my Mediterranean journey. It’s the kind of fragrance that really blooms in dry heat. Being surrounded by picturesque oceans would only add to this fragrance’s tranquil charm.
The drydown features crisp white musk, beeswax and resinous amber. This is a very well thought out fragrance and I am rather disappointed that Aqva Divina didn’t quite take off like it deserved. I very rarely see this fragrance in department stores anymore as it has been relegated to the discount stores for next to nothing.
As one might guess, Aqva Divina is a Summer scent through and through. I am also impressed by its bold sillage and above average longevity. This is one bargain bin find that should not be dismissed.

  33. :

    4 out of 5

AQVA DIVINA IS A MASTERPIECE. It’s definitely among my top 5 favorite fragrances. I swear the first time I smelled it, it was like a slap in my face – but a beautiful, godly slap somehow.
You may expect it to be a light floral ethereal perfume, but the first sniffing welcomes you with a huge blow of ginger and spice. Warm, intense, full of personality, no-time-for-bullshit, love-it-or-hate-it top notes. If you’re not used to intense, vibrant, strong scents, you’ll not like this one…
And when you’re getting used to the ginger and spice of the top notes, there comes a BEAUTIFUL, WONDERFUL note of magnolia, that makes you think “woah, am I in the middle of a garden of blooming magnolias and I didn’t know it?” It’s so shocking and so surprising, it’s like opening a ginger curtain that gives way to a beautiful garden with the most precious and delicate magnolias, something you could never expect to happen.
And then, after a delicate yet deep walk along a magnolia garden you’re welcome by a woody, oriental dry-down that frames the whole perfume with mystery and complexities… The sensation it gives to me is of a forbidden, mysterious elixir that could be only be worn by magical creatures… Spicy, salty, floral, exotic, sensual, dominant, powerful and dreamy!
Yes, we’re talking about an impacting fragrance here. No wonder it’s called Aqva Divina, I can easily imagine something only a greek goddess would wear. The bottle somehow to me evokes a white silk dress and the gold bracelets Aphrodite would wear… Something that is out of reach to us mere mortals.

  34. :

Lovely perfume. I agree with some of the reviews here, it could definitely be used as a unisex perfume (not because it lacks sugary/gourmand notes, i just think the opening is kind of sharp and more on the masculine side when you first spray it). This is not a problem for me really because i thoroughly enjoy masculine oriented fragrances, so that was a pleasant surprise.
The most noticeable notes on my nose are salt, magnolia and bergamot. It smells super fresh and airy for the first hour and then it shifts to a more creamy/woody scent when it dries down.
Sadly, the longevity is quite poor on my skin (five hours top on the inside of my forearm, which is the warmest part), and the sillage pretty much none existent. That would be my only complain.
Beautiful lacquered bottle with a golden cap, reminds me of a pearl or some kind of seashell. It can be perfectly used all year long but i believe it would be better suited for warmer days, thus amplifying the intensity of the notes.

  35. :

    4 out of 5

The opening is very bold, consisting in woody and masculine notes and I wished that this could last. But somehow, after 20-30 minutes, it becomes quite weak and citrusy and I hate it. It’s a total chameleon this one and I would recommend it to someone who likes weak and lemony notes… kind of a car deodorant….

  36. :

    5 out of 5

I’ve become a real fan of salty and sea inspired perfumes as I got familiar with the various notes used to produce the effect. This is an incredible ocean inspired scent, a complete blind buy almost free, absolutely beautiful. It has that zing effect of a plunge in the surf, produced no doubt by the ginger, salt, and citrus. There is a slight haunting sweetness, apparently amber maybe the quince, but more like the somewhat animalic oceanic effect of real ambergris. The bitterness is similar to the great sulphurous grapefruit that I love in say, Pampelune and In Love Again, but cleaner. Awesome perfume. Has sent me on a Bvlgari spree after I had always written them off as too weak and ineffectual. Pondering question….how do perfumers translate the smell of salt from its taste?

  37. :

    4 out of 5

Indeed divine! Could it be because of salt? Precious here as it is, for me at least, precious in food. I also sense ginger and quince too but it is the combination between them that creates the special perfume feeling, special that can easily turn familiar, no matter how strange. Unlike others who noticed different stages and rather bad turnings, for me it is the same, from beginning to middle phase and fading one. Charming, delicate and classy. Faultless and beyond compare..maybe it shall be discrowned by other interestingly composed salty frags, but since it is the first one of this kind, I hold it most dear and sniff it like a drug

Unusual floral aquatic. Aqva Divina feels artistically composed, not created with an eye to capturing the mall rat market. The ginger starts off spicy and then mingles with the salty notes. Soon a salty/aquatic accord develops, with just a hint of fresh florals in the background. Aquatic, but not in the obnoxiously fresh way of some aquatics. I am not a lover of aquatics, but I like Aqva Divina. The smell brings to mind the freshness of the beach in winter; it’s a beach scent, but not a tropical beach or a spring break beach. The lingering ginger spice makes this a scent one could wear in the winter without its being too sharp, while the floral aquatics make it a summer scent as well. Unusual in that there is no musk – the beeswax seems to take the place of the musk (even more than the amber), forming the base of this scent. Once it warms up on the skin, it takes on a salty fresh honey feel, very earthy but with the performance of a synthetic, transparent and powerful at the same time like a force field.
The only drawback is that Aqva Divina really places the wearer at the beach or in some relaxing place. Even though sillage is soft, it would be tough to wear this one to work because it keeps whispering, “Relax, take a stroll in the sand.” Weekend or vacation scent. Perfect to wear at a restaurant on the beach while sipping a cocktail.
Composed by the great Alberto Morillas, a master at combining natural and synthetic notes harmoniously. Aqva Divina is a love letter to the ocean written in scent.

  39. :

This perfume is very sophisticated and unique as due to ginger the first notes come across as sharpish dryiish herbal, then citric peel, then very subtle aquatic notes melt into the skin and projects low. It’s a very elegant composition but quiet, mature. It’s not sweet, not floral, not fruity, and very low projecting and introverted other than first herbal phase. My cousin thought it smelled harsh but she only like translucent florals, so not recommend for such people. Bought for $24 for 1.3 oz at Ross. The bottle is a flatten pearl white sphere with tapered edges that lays flat on table circle side up, with pretty gold cap. I consider it a good addition to my diverse scents and good for a change of pace. But I can see how many would dislike it.

Small waves beating the shore and the sea releasing its salty odour while the sunset creates shades of the most beautiful colours, first pink, than yellow and orange that make the blue sky hide amongst them. Sitting on a balcony near the sea and reading a good book, while hearing the sounds the waves produce and wearing this perfume that reproduces almost exactly the smell of sea to me. This is how I feel about this salty and aquatic perfume that is quite singular.

  41. :

    4 out of 5

Now, here is a really interesting floral aquatic, albeit I think that floral-“marine” fits it better: Aqua Divina is creamy and salty, and I could swear that I clearly smelled costal mediteranian pine along with salty air right untill I checked the notes…but nope, there’s no pine.
Salt isn’t just a top note.
It goes from top all the way to the drydown, and there it is fixated in creamy base. I didn’t get much of a fruty elements, except on top (and for me it is a good thing).
The layer of floral notes is light, fresh, very airy and Bvlgari-like.
Acqua Divina is defined, refined, not overpowering, casualy elegant, tender.
    Womanly, all the way.
It is indeed very interesting, well balanced soft, creamy, airy and divinly salty fragrance, with natural feeling of “no-sugar-added” (which is great).
After wearing it for a whole day on a three different occasions, I am a bit tempteted to buy it, even though it is quite far from my preferences.
Strong recomendation for Bvlgari fans, creamy-airy (not ozonic)-floral-aquatics lovers, all of those who are exploring saltiness in perfumery.
    *like
*longevity: moderate (up to 6 hours)
    *silage: moderate (arms lenght)
    * weather/season/time: Possibly all year round, but saltyness, for me, evokes summer. Also, hot weather conditions (+30 C), comparing to moderate and cold weather, amplifies its saltines. Casual to formal. Day.

    UNISEX?
I am trully surprised with repeted “unisex” label here on reviews.
Sorry, but what makes this fragrance “unisex”?
From the reviews I got impression that it is simply the fact that this fragrance “lacks” pronounced sugar, or it isn’t overly sweet.
    Well…
If you eliminate salty layer, Aqua Divina is very nice, light feminine floral, and the salt-layer doesn’t make it a bit less feminine.
More so, Aqua Divina is unquestionable feminine, and – in my humble opinion – men are welcomed to wear it, if they can pull it of.
I had to write this, because it seems to me that we are dangerously close to oppression of another kind – the one where the exclusive and unquestionable femininity is reduced only to sugar/overly sweet scents, and that is devastatingly less of exclusively feminine fragrance space than our mothers had in not so distant past.
I don’t have an issue with “unisex” label, but I find such overwhelming reduction of unquestionable femininity in fragrance world very sad.

It’s a very sharp prominent fragrance, people around you will either like it or completely dislike it.
Definitely uncommon, not the typical floral or sweet smell a lot of women usually choose.
Right now I haven’t really been able to differentiate between the notes, and mostly get the saltiness.
I’m gonna give it a try again and see, it’s gotten me intrigued 🙂

It does smell like I’d imagine The Birth of Venus would smell, with aquatics and salt and delicate florals, yet introduced with the scent of spice and wood. It’s the scents that a masterpiece would be surrounded with, if you smelled paintings.
I feel like Aqva Divina is unique in my perfume collection, because it isn’t quite like the summery scents with their mint (Acqua di Gioia) or coconut (Beach Walk), but still belongs to summer just as much. Aqva Divina is spicy, a zippy gingery pepper opening that feels almost masculine, but combines with cedar to stay cool and summery. It dries down into a salty aquatic scent, slowly losing the sharpness in the spice note, but keeping the integrity of the scent. I’m confident wearing this as a woman, but it feels very comfortably unisex to me as well. (Although really, anybody can wear anything they like, right?)
I like this scent. It smells both strange and unique, while feeling familiar. A good composition, worth trying.

One of the most saltiest aquatics I’ve ever come across. This is what I’d imagine a mermaid smells like. Not like Golden and Silver from The Lure. More like Madison from Splash. The ginger, salt and bergamot give it a lovely masculine edge. Actually, the scent itself is perfectly unisex. It is not a crowd-pleaser, but I find it refreshing and beautiful.

Id been after this for a while. Ehhh, no. No beaches, no mermaids, no sunny days. I’m 36 and this smells exactly like what my dad used to wear in the 80s when getting dressed up.Stetson? Very masculine. Not an attractive scent for a woman.

It IS unisex to my nose, hanging just a little bit more towards feminine side which makes it perfect for me, It’s loud and a bit heavy and extremely long lasting on me, I love their pour femme for cold weather but it is a bit too much for higher temperatures so this one will be worn by me a lot this spring and summer! Seriously the best unisex I’ve encountered so far, excellent quality for an affordable price.

A blind buy at the dept store because I LOVE Bvlgari Omnia Green Jade. But…this is not akin to that. It does start out very sharp, citrus and spice, but WAIT about an hour and you might get the drydown of mellow honey and amber – on me, anyway. Unfortunately, true to the nature of other Bvlgari fumes, it barely lasts an 2 hours.
Great unisex scent, though, in my opinion.

Wow!! This is incredibly long-lasting! I sprayed it on at 4:00 PM last night, and this morning at 9:00 AM I could still smell it on myself. Only one other perfume could do that for me–Nocturnes by Caron in it’s 80’s incarnation.
Very fresh and elegant–extremely “well made”. I love to wear cheapies, too, but you can definitely tell this one is well very well composed.

I am a huge unisex fan but there is nothing unisex about this, its too feminie.
its my holiday perfume always puts me in a easy day kinda mood.
goes perfect with days on the beach.
its very potent for an EDT and now the price has come down it is in the affordable range.
Salty and musk-lollie like it must be honey and bees wax im smelling.
I love salt notes and if you do too you cant possibly be disappointed with this little number.
    Full marks all round.
    Scent 10/10
    bottle 10/10

In the beginning, it’s very woody and salty. A bit too masculine for my taste. Don’t get me wrong, I like masculine fragrances, just not on me. And I was just about to cross it out when it started to change into something sweeter, not candy-sweet, sweet with a dash of sourness. It kept the salty-beachy aspect. Something in it reminded me of reveal (ck), but this is so much better made that it’s just a faint reminder. This one has a mind
