Is it weird that I like the smell of this on me; even though I am a woman? I am afraid to wear it, however; because I am afraid people will recognize it for what it is. Axe is so very much a “man’s” thing that it is tantamount to wearing Old Spice.
On me the sage is predominant, with a slight hint of the wood. Crisp and refreshing.
I have heard about men wearing Youth Dew and getting away with it; and when I was younger my Avon lady said I was the only woman she knew that would wear Moonwind. Despite it being a woman’s cologne, most of the people buying it from her were men, claiming it was for the “wife” etc. But she could tell they were wearing it.
Maybe I will someday get brave enough to wear this without worrying that people think I “smell like a guy”. And yes, I am a very girly girl.

For a long time i use this fragrance as a deodorant. This time i found this fragrance a little bit similar to my other stuff i compare it to playboy newyork a little bit far because of a sour note i found on a playboy but when i use my montblanc legends intense bam now i found out what is the smell im thinking for only the mb legends intese has a more sweeter side

Had to buy it just because I saw so many reviews that this was a Fierce and Legend copy, nonetheless, there’s something different about this one, but I can’t seem to tell what is it; Despite the fact that I got the bodyspray version, the sillage amused me a bit.

I tried Apollo,in its deodorant form. and I can gladly say i am satisfy. It is reminds little bit on Mans locker room, on first sniff, funny that somebody mention it, it was kind of hard to make that connection obvious .It is bitter fragrance, MANDARIN I spouse, and like it even more cause it seems not to have any acidity and soury notes of citrusess that usually low cost deodorants have. I think it is like so, cause it is like perhaps, 4 me, in my case, not 4 the others and for me it is so like it, not because i adjust it just by thinking or sniffing of it then personalise it or any other special ability. It is easy fragrance late night spring/summer fragrance..ill try it also in winter. This is not predator for anyones nose.. If i try to make a best picture for it, It would be, some beautiful little town in medditeran, near sea, marina with bouts, sails, sea washed wooden seafront pathway made of wooden planks nad also it does reminds me of inocennt mornings, women, bed ,…it is full of sexual pottentional but… it has spontaneous, unmeditated easiness in it self that is completely in opposition 2 lustful, angry and envy notes that are like old whore standing and yelling: “Try ME!” It is not one of thoes fragrances that reminds on pimps and makros somwhere in New York in mid 70s, cause that shame and filth is hard to forget and just imagine how hard is to wash. That kind of fragrance is not the case of this choice, but i dont know 4 “Playboy New York” story??!! Back to my first impression… Virginity and easiness leaves me to dreaming of chastity.Anway Lately….. as it gets easier i can smell QUINCE, VETIVER, and LAVANDER and their sweetnes and then again flory notes that are lttle bit like hand sope that are made of resins like Olibanum or Myrr that is VIOLET and IRIS I spouse, Ill try shampoo, it is very showery. Very Nice, my regards 2 Anne Gottliebe and her reviving Axe Appolo

Smells like a mens locker room from all the axe shower gels and sprays. Kind of soapy and not bad. I accidentally dropped my bottle and it shattered and went everywhere in my office at work. Even after mopping my office it smelled nice for like 2-3 weeks. Women would often stop by to comment, it smells like a mens locker room in here.

I have the body spray version.
Quite nice during the first couple of uses. Unfortunately, I’ve grown tiresome of this. Whenever I smell this, it makes me wanna hurl.

This is an iconic Axe fragrance that was virtually one of the first fragrances I ever used. When I was in high school, this fragrance was introduced. This was a rather good scent due to what it is a body spray version of. That being the classic lady killer and compliment better, Abercrombie and Fitch Fierce (as well as other similar smelling fragrances including Mont Blanc Legend and Bath and Body Works Whitewater Rush.) This was a good gateway drug fragrance and a good way to figure out scents that work for you.

Yes, indeed it smells like Prada Luna Rossa. Freshie floral
VeliaveOblima – :
Simply, this is a Fierce copy.
Just like so many fragrances, including Playboy New York & Mont Blanc Legend.
So identical, it shocks me how the notes of the two are so different!
I can’t judge the lasting power & sillage, as I’ve only tested it in the shop but I assume it’ll be around 4 hours since it’s made by AXE.

A woody fresh fougere in a similar vein to Mont Blanc Legend, Abercrombie Fierce and Riverside Drive. Except it has a few herbal/woody/musky notes that give it a really dirty vibe that I don’t like. Perhaps with a few note changes, I would have enjoyed this one, because some aspects of it, I like.
Overall, it smells generic. I’ve smelled this on dozens of people before. I’m not hating on Axe. I think their Phoenix fragrance is very good. Apollo isn’t terrible but it doesn’t impress me either. I’d probably wear it again, but I don’t see myself replacing my $1 travel size bottle.

I did it! I was finally able to persuade an old high school boyfriend, Manny, who owns and operates his own auto body shop in Brooklyn, to change his cologne! For as long as I’d known him he wore the foul stinking stench of Tribute For Men by Mary Kay. It reeks of marijuana. Manny surprised me with a new scent the last time I saw him as I walked into his auto body shop. He now smelled of Ann Gottlieb’s Axe Apollo. I’m pretty sure he was wearing the 4 ounce body spray which is what is selling at a very inexpensive price in most drug stores. Only 5 dollars and 47 cents on Amazon.com! Guys, of course this is a cheapie but it’s a really good fragrance. If you’re on a budget or simply don’t care for colognes and fragrances for men but you do want to smell like you’re wearing something other than your showered body and deodorant, wear this. So this has a linear 12 note formula, very simple, but strong. Clary sage, quince and mandarin at the head, lavender, violet, geranium and iris heart, and a base of sandalwood, cashmere wood, amber, moss and vetiver. On my friend it smelled so much better than his previous choice of cologne. So while this is a cheap cologne or boy spray, it can still serve it’s purpose. Right away I was hit by the very green clary sage and the vetiver and moss. He thought I was nuts because I was analyzing how he smelled but he knows I’m creating fragrances and study the compositions in different fragrances. He finds it amusing and thinks I’ve become a weird perfume nerd. The heart is floral but I really can’t call this a floral scent. I suppose iris is very noticeable and violet. Lavender is too soft and barely perceptible which is too bad because I really love lavender and would have love to have smelled it on him. The woods are strongest in this fragrance. Lots of sandalwood, moss and vetiver. The amber gives it a warmth and the cashmere wood some heft. Lasts all day as I smelled it on him later at night. This is not the best fragrance in the world for men, but for a body spray it’s really good. This is for guys who don’t have a clue about fragrances and are starting out and want to wear something that can last all day. This smells very masculine so there is no way a girl can put this on without anyone mistaking it for a woman’s perfume. I must say I loved it. This scent was created by Ann Gottlieb who has been in the business for years. She created my mother’s favorite fragrance by Avon, Facets, back in 1988, and that’s such a great myrrh and white floral scent. I used to be head over heels in love with my Manny but now I’m just happy that he finally changed his cologne LOL I’m so happy for him.

I remember my teen days when I wore Axe deodorant, Apollo was the best back then. But the discontinued it. I’m glad they brought it back, just to get a glimpse of the past again.
