I’ve worn this a dozen times now. I get a rather thick, mildly spicy, slightly salty rose-oud-geranium combination with some patch. The spicyness is rarely mentioned in reviews. The spices listed here are saffron, nutmeg and and cinnamon, but interestingly these have not been voted up too much. I suggest they should. The thickness and spicyness give the fragrance an impression of dried fruit. The oud is of the mildly medicinal variety – no skank. About two hours in, the oud begins to lightly smoulder, giving a slight charred/smoky impression. The citruses really struggle to make themselves known in the opening, they come across very tainted by the heavy accords underneath, but despite the clash, the citruses add some much needed space for development of the scent in the first 15 minutes. After those 15 minutes, the fragrance becomes rather linear. Regarding a couple of the other notes: The ambergris contributes a touch of saltiness. And the leather comes across more in the texture of the fragrance, (that thickness), rather than a specific smell.
Aoud smells and wears very much like a natural fragrance. The quality is superb. It is rather unique within the busy oud space, which is quite a feat. There is a lot to discover if you are prepared to spend the time over many wearings to decipher its many layers.
On a value for money basis, the amazing Cartier ouds are currently making Roja’s efforts look overpriced. But putting the exceptional Cartier’s aside, Roja’s Aoud offering is a fabulous scent for those that can afford it. And the presentation is excellent. I like that the silk-lined cardboard box is rather modest, but the money has been spent where it counts: the bottle.

A pleasant enough rose dominant Oriental chypre style fragrance with absolutely nothing in it to warrant the huge price tag it comes associated with. The perfume opens on a citrusy note with bergamot, lemon and verbena. The floral heart showcases geranium, jasmine, may rose and ylang-ylang. The perfume settles into a woody powdery base of Oud, cashmere wood, cedar, cinnamon, nutmeg, patchouli, rhubarb, saffron, sandalwood, ambergris, leather, musk and vanilla. Unisex with moderate to strong sillage and good lasting power. Given the glut of rose Ouds out there many much cheaper and better this seems like a really overindulgent pedestrian luxury in my humble opinion.

Something absolutely nauseating about this as it starts to dry down. Go with Roja Parfums Amber Aoud instead.

Roja dove Aoud. Smells nice, you can smell that whoever made this fragrance put time and effort in this. The only thing that turns me off is the price. 700 euros (about 800 dollars) for 100ml. Thats just way too much, abviously youre paying for the fancy packinging and bottle with both are hand made and use swarovski stones. I could just get an oud fragrance with real oud and more natural ingredients. But if I judge the scent alone it is good.
    Scent: 7/10
    Performance: 10/10
    Projection: 10/10
Price/quality: 3/10 (very poor juice for the price)
Is it worth it? Imho, no there are much better fragrances with natural real oud and other ingredients.

Smells like a cheap arabian mukhallat oil and people that are going to devote this comment your act will not recover your money.

ROJA DOVE AOUD in my honest opinion smells exactly like Montale’s Dark Aoud,i had no idea it was that STRONG and OFFENSIVE,definitely turned me off, luckily i only bought a 17ml sample,i returned it today for something else more pleasant,oh the Montale i got rid of that one too… WARNING:SAMPLE THESE NICHE COLOGNES FIRST,5-10ml,ITS A MUST…

    Fragrance -Aoud Roja Dove
    Bottle from – 2016
In my opinion,Aoud by Roja Dove is one of the best fragrance on the planet. This is a story about a romantic, elegant and sensual, yet brave, proud and magnificent rose.
Aoud reminds me of an unfulfilled desire, longing or need for something great, exceptional and transcendent.Something beyond our comprehension. It has similarities to Amber Aoud by Roja Dove.
    Longevity – 10/10(10+ hours)
Silage/Projection – 9,5/10(heavy projection and silage for the first 3-4 hours)
Weather – For more or less any time of year.I personally wouldn’t wear this on a really hot summer days.
    Age – 25+
    Compliments – 10/10
    Scent – 10/10(masterpiece)
Main notes according to me – rose,oud,ambergris,spices,leather,ylang-ylang,cedar.
The drydown is a bit woody, musky and spicy and I get some sandalwood, cedar, spices, rose, musk and vanilla.
    Emotions -desire,longing,transcendent,divine,romantic,
    elegant,proud,love.
Occasion -life defining moments, special occasions, romantic evening and date.
You’ll get compliments and LOVE with this one.

It is a very gracious aoud, indeed. Wine & rose & aoud in a well balanced combination. Lovely compound, such a pity it doesnt last at all.
But it does NOT last, after less then 2 hours was already gone from my wrist.
I could never imagine wanting to pay so much for something so weak as staying power.
Also silage almost non-existent, skin scent.

Maybe the Roja line is a tad bit pretentious but this is simply an excellent oud iteration to my nose. I’ve read countless reviews of those that say his fragrances are just copycats of others before them ( Danger is a copy of Heritage, Fetish is a copy of Moschino PH blah, blah, blah) and I’m not buying that at all. This and Amber Aoud are simply outstanding and don’t smell like anything else. I have a fair number of rose oud fragrances and these are a cut above all of them.
Are they worth the money being asked? Not sure about that because I’m not convinced there is any fragrance worth north of $500 but it’s clear people are paying it else they would be dropping their prices to unload it. Not the case here. I simply order the 7.5 ml sample bottles direct from Roja and they last a good 3-4 months each as you don’t need more than a few sprays. All of the above comments are JUST MY OPINION and that is dictated by my nose and nothing else.

This was my first review (written ages ago but not posted for some reason??) of Roja Dove and Aoud was good but having tried the range I’m somewhat a fan of these fragrances.
Well, well, well Roja Dove fragrances!
Hyped and bashed in equal measure.
I’m going to try to get to the bottom of this and hopefully bring some clarity to proceedings.
I’ve only tried two from this exclusive line and Aoud was the first one. The reason I didn’t hurriedly put pen to paper (or finger to iPhone) to document the momentous occasion will become apparent.
The sample vile looked extremely inviting, containing a thick, oily, dark, dark amber goop.
As soon as I tried it on my skin I got a smoky ploom of woody Oud reminiscent of fragrances from countless houses but Zerjoff sprung to mind due to a distinct ‘diesel’ quality. This is backed with hints of resins and tiny florals peeking through.
    It’s nice…very nice.
I made the mistake of thinking that Aoud was a lovely thing which oozed quality but was linear and somehow lacking in depth other than the great Oud and labdanum. It’s only now that I’ve tried it a couple of times that I can appreciate the subtle complexities, which almost makes me want to rethink and revisit several fragrances, to see if I change my mind on them.
As I said I tried RD Aoud a few weeks ago now and haven’t thought a great deal about it since, until I got it out for my girlfriend to try.
She loves strong orientals, Ouds as well as quite feminine florals so she’s pretty well rounded. I should maybe have given her no prior knowledge about the fragrance but I decided to give her a quick bio of Dove and the price of this juice.
Her reaction was wild! She absolutely couldn’t get enough of this scent. I bore/bombard her with allsorts of fragrances on a pretty much daily basis and normally reactions are fairly blasé but this provoked a BIG response.
I then did something I never do, post trying a fragrance myself. I proceeded to look at other reviewers on YouTube etc…just to see what the buzz was.
I came across one guy who seemed very balanced and knowledgable about perfume and the process of perfumery in general, who was offering up his opinions.
Have to say his description ‘Stale Newport cigarette’s and the cheapest feminine drugstore perfume.’
    I just don’t get?
To say that this fragrance gives NO hints as to the quality of ingredients used, shows a fundamental lack of understanding about perfume.
Whatever you think of the composition or what your tastes might be you have to give credit where it’s due.
I did appreciate his point about the use of ‘finest ingredients’ and what people mean by that and ‘Can you smell it?’
I thought he was missing a trick slightly assuming that people think ‘fine quality ingredients’ mean ‘naturals’ then going on to make the point that Amouage readily use synthetics.
Well the truth is, majority of houses do regardless of price and I think it’s a bit patronising to assume that other frag heads don’t know this.
when I say something smells ‘synthetic’ I don’t mean it in the literal sense, same with ‘cheap’ or whatever?
It’s difficult to explain and for another time perhaps?
The point is Roja Dove Aoud is a very opulent and strong scent which delivers what I expected. Anyone who is looking for the holy grail of fragrances will probably be a little disappointed because high price and exclusivity don’t guarantee anything.
Aoud is very, very good…even great for me. It’s by no means that original or groundbreaking and if you think it’s worth the money then good for you, there’s a ton of fragrances to get before this one would figure on my list….but eventually I think it would.
Great projection at first, great longevity as you would expect.

Ok, we got it: Rose and Oud do great together. Can we move on now?
Roja’s Oud is a disappointment to say the least. Yes, the quality is there but, at these prices, this is a very basic condition. The problem is that, besides the quality of the ingredients, there’s little (if nothing) else. The same, now stereotyped, rose-oud iteration we’ve experienced way too many times. JHAG Midnight Oud, Dior Oud Ispahan, Portrait Of A Lady, Dark Rose, countless Montales and countless others original rose-oud oils. Smells good but it’s TOTAL cliché.
You have 1k dollars to spare and want something really exclusive? Get a selection of real oud oils.

a very pleasant oud. it can be debated whether it is the best but it is truly attractive.

Possibly THE best Oud your money can buy!
Heavenly creamy, warm, sensual, rose, sweet but aromatic and not cloying.
Does not cause a itchy throat, like so many Ouds can cause.
Perhaps the best (reference) oud out there.
    Irresistible!
    10/10 as an OUd fragrance.

Personally this is the best from the trio. Which is a plus because it’s the least hyped so less people will be wearing it, even though this is the aoud fragrance that gave Roja Dove worldwide recognition. Nice green, fresh, woody, leathery oud.
    Blended masterfully.

I agree with the reviewers below. I have
used it only once. The liquid is of very
dark colour and may stain the shirt but
the supreme quality will touch the heart.
Becoz of dark colour I sprayed it on my
wrist and this one lasted a very long
time though my skin drinks perfume.
Some ouds I find little difficult to
wear because they are too strong
but here oud has been mellowed
by rose, musk and vanilla and smells
    very refined. Smells natural.
I tried this one first at Paris gallery, Dubai
Mall and fell in love with it instantly and
a small sample I have of this one is
kept aside for very special occasions.
This is expensive stuff but exclusive too.
May be best things in life are expensive.
    Try it.
Edit- I like this one even more now. Imagine yourself
in arabian desert on a cold night in a tent with stars
overhead, lots of fruits and Rose Sherbat in front of you
oud chips burning and girls dancing wearing a transparent
    burkha.
This one takes you straight to Arabian nights.
