Description

In April 2016, Thierry Mugler will launch the latest addition to the famous gourmand, Angel, the “futuristic – gourmet” Angel Muse. As Angel from 1992 represented the first gourmand perfume, so is the new edition announced as the first gourmand scent of vetiver for women.

“New fragrance, new bottle, new codes: a shock wave is shaking up the Angel galaxy. Angel MUSE, the new Eau de Parfum you will hate to love.”

Angel Muse is here to renew the style of the gourmand fragrance genre. Its accord is luminous and not too sweet; it gradually develops into an elegant gourmand to stimulate our “olfactory appetite”. The composition is developed by Quentin Bisch, containing a sweet accord of hazelnut cream with the elegant, woody and typically masculine character of vetiver balancing the creamy sweetness.

“To make an analogy, you could say that Angel Eau de Parfum is the star, while Angel MUSE orbits around the star and revolves as if around a galaxy.” Christophe de Lataillade, Creative Director for MUGLER fragrances

The bottle design is described as a “cosmic pebble”, made of an elliptical, silver, metal ring with gently ambery, nude glass in the middle which reportedly evokes the surface of Mars.

The face of the perfume is Georgia May Jagger, who followed the steps of her mother Jerry Hall as the face of the Angel perfume line. The photographer of the campaign is Sølve Sundsbø.

The fragrance is available as a 30 and 50 ml Eau de Parfum.

I wore Angel for a couple of years. It was one of my great loves. Before it got too well known. Then when it was everywhere, i gave it up.
I sprayed Muse a year ago. Thought it was interesting. And it niggled away at me until I went out and bought a small bottle yesterday.
Its not the same at all. But it has a part of Angel there. Its weird, this perfume evokes strength. A backbone made of steel. It doesnt have the multi faceted personality of Angel. It is smooth and grounded. But really really yummy. Earthy and chocolatey. I dont get fresh. Addictive like Angel.. Love

Angel Muse will always be my #1 LOVE, and my signature. This delectable perfume goes perfectly together when combined with Lancome’s La Vie Est Belle Intense, as they both have those creamy hazelnut notes. I’ve been pairing them a lot together lately, and the result is soooooo DREAMY!

So good. Maybe like others have mentioned, I never liked the original Angel edp. I think it was the patch that turned me off, it just didn’t mix with my chemistry. But this!… its gorgeous. Funny too because I can smell the original Angel DNA but it smells completely different. The opening smells (as someone else had mentioned before I realized it was indeed what I was smelling) of a buttery boozy pineapple upside down cake. It doesn’t stay there tho, it morphs into a creamy buttery wiffs and hints of salty hazelnut and chocolate. Not like nutella…not like it’s glopped on top of toast..but like itss really suggestive… It’s perfect for fall and the colder months. It’s a cozy creamy praline salty nugget that stays with you the better part of a day. Longevity is remarkable and silage is decent within the first 3-4 hours.
So grateful, I have tried to like Angel and Alien to no avail. This on the other hand is splendid. I’ve finally been able to embrace an Angel that loves me back.
(PS. Womanity was my first TM fragrance.)

Chocolate and butter. This is such a delectable yet distinctive edible scent! Angel Muse was originally a sample given to me in an online order from Ulta (I think) over a year ago. I initially put it away (because original Angel is a bit scary), but the moment I let myself dive in it was pure heaven. This manages to be earthy without getting too hippie. Angel Muse lasts all day, and when you give it an extra layer of Outremer Vanille, it just becomes to die for with monster longevity. Angel Muse EDP is perfect for cold weather, and I find the EDT perfect for warmth. 5 stars for both!

Oh yay, another blind buy win! This is what I wanted Angel to be. I also snagged Muse at TJMaxx for a bargain, thinking as usual that if it didn’t work I’d give it to my mom, but I really like this! You know how Angel smells like a hippie’s armpits? Like, the pong after hot yoga? Yeah, you know what I’m talking about. This actually smells like a lovely creamy chocolate and clean patchouli with a pink spun sugar in there somewhere, and not a dirty crevice in sight. The reviews, as usual helped me take the blind buy plunge, thanks guys!

Just flitting through to say this unexpectedly has become my favorite scent and signature lately. I’ve worn it nearly every day this past week.. I’ve worn other scents in the morning, to bed, etc, but Angel Muse has been my mainstay during the day.. it’s SO strong and lasts for so long and smells so dang beautiful, I have no gripes at all with any note, opening or drydown.. it’s all perfect. Delicious Nutella with masculine vetiver, what an unexpectedly enticing mix.. it becomes something very sweet and feminine, somehow. I hope this is never discontinued.

Lovely Angel Muse. I should start by saying that much as I respect the original Angel, I can’t wear it. It is too caramel, fruity, hot, sticky sweet, & chaotic on me (& not really chocolatey) – although I know it can be great on the right person.
Anyway, this is like a calm more pared down version of regular Angel, minus all the bits that I can’t take. The vetiver provides some coolness & balances the sweetness nicely. It’s smooth & creamy & has depth. The chocolate is ABSOLUTELY there, without all the other usual Angel notes crowding it out & smothering it for me. Longevity & sillage are excellent, a little bit goes a long way & the chocolate/praline effect wears beautifully on skin. It is a fairly linear scent, but that is not a criticism. This is one brilliant perfume, imo 🙂
Now, how about a flanker?: “Angel Muse La Rose”, please Mr Mugler…wouldn’t that be just lovely? lol
Edit to add: Muse reminds me of one of those Lindor chocolate balls which feel slightly cold as they melt slowly in your mouth… & I’m not generally a gourmand fan, either !

Angel Muse… I was excited to try this fragrance as I love sweet perfumes. Sadly on my skin I could only smell a very strong aftershave-esque smell…..and nothing else. It has great longevity and a rather agressive sillage…which would be great if I enjoyed smelling like a man marinated in aftershave lotion.

I blind bought this at Marshall’s and then went to test it at Macy’s. At first I thought it was weird and spicy and regretted my purchase! But then after it dried down I was and am in love. It is similar to the original Angel, with a bit more spice and chocolate. I am a serious gourmand lover, and I love this perfume. It’s sweet, but not Pink Sugar sweet. Beautiful for the fall and winter.

Wow!!! I have wanted this for ages and just received it.I haven’t worn any other fragrance other than this since it arrived. It’s a big love from me. So happy to have this gorgeous scent in my collection. The Cocoa spread note in this is so divine. Love love love.

Pefect in every way!!!! I love Angel Muse. I finally own not one but 4 of them (possible for gifts but doubt I could part with them), plus the original Angel, which I was never sure I could wear. I sometimes add one spray of the original with the Muse. I found them all at Marshall’s and bought one of each without a second thought, and went back for the others. Unfortunately they didn’t have another Angel. I know I should search the other Marshalls, but have to stop myself since I have a good collection of perfumes to use in my lifetime! I never felt I could wear the original Angel, but Muse was so easy for me immediately. I can wear Angel easily now. I have received so many compliments with Muse. I love knowing I have the extra bottles so I can really indulge in wearing it. I can only say it is Angel’s sister, big sister or little sister, but I’ll say middle sister since I also love Angel Rose, which I believe is discontinued. That is heavenly and again with the distinct Angel among the Rose. Again just heavenly.

My signature scent is Chanel No 19 and Angel Muse is about as different from that as is possible before falling off the edge of the world. That’s why I like it. The (to me extreme) sweetness is thrilling because it’s so dangerous. The berry fruit opening is especially terrifying and I could not cope if those notes lasted more than about 20 minutes. The reward lies in the exuberance of Angel Muse: a journey from trashy to classy to smooth, polished elegance at last. My only regret is that I don’t detect vetiver very much.
I don’t wear Angel Muse often and never in warm weather, but I love pretending to be a woman who could wear this with abandon.

    – The good Angel – ★★★★☆½
“Beware of Angels! Good ones… bad ones…” – Mugler 1993
Remove the mothballs, ripe berries, animalic dirt, abstract floral lyral heart and half the patchouli. Add more cocoa, masculine rooty vetiver, nutty tonka, a pinch of sugar and *pooof* a wild Angel Muse has appeared. Original Angel is difficult and demanding, a succubus of its own domain, but highly rewarding and ultimately a perfume that sticks with you for life. Muse, orbiting around the original star, is the instant gratification angel we wanted all along but didn’t want to work for. It’s just simply irresistibly delicious and lovely from the get go. Envelops one (for a good 12 hours) with the bittersweet scent of vetiver hazelnut pralines – a trail of scent that’ll turn heads with eyes closing in delight and noses pointing in search for its source. Attracts compliments with the power of a black hole. One can’t go wrong with this cosmic pebble. An extremely successful tribute to the Angel formula that is special enough on its own merits. Yet again I applaud Quentin Bisch for his amazing work.
Angel Muse hits hard into the amygdala, but the original Angel goes for the reptilian brain. One is for simple pleasure, other is for primal instincts. Which Angel are you today?

Often I look at the pyramid of notes for a fragrance (take Angel, for example) and just feel flummoxed by the variety, unable to pick out even a few individual notes from the mosaic of scents. Angel Muse, however, reads quite straightforwardly: I detect everything listed with the addition of a milky creme brulee note.
Since individual notes can be quite confusing, I prefer to give a description of the overall effect:
Angel Muse smells to me like walking into an ice cream shop in the dead of summer: there’s an instant refreshing feeling, the fruitiness of lemon, the creaminess of chocolate and hazelnut, and that creamy caramel/vanilla note lingering ever so faintly.
But I mention an ice cream shop instead of any other kind of confectionary because of what I think makes Angel Muse so special: permeating the top, middle, and basenotes is this bright, chemical effect that smells like the chill of refrigeration or air conditioning! Hence the refreshing feel of walking from the heat into a place full of cold, sweet treats. To account for the patchouli, pink pepper, and vetiver — maybe this place is run by hippies. Quite unusual and delightful!
[As of 10/21/18 I have a new 9 ml travel spray of this available. PM me if interested in a sample swap!]

eh… I’m undecided on this one. It was a ‘like’ the first couple of times I wore it, but one time the nuttiness turned mouldy on me after a few hours, which was pretty unappealing. I’m a fan of Angel and I did like Angel Muse at first, so maybe I’ll give it another go before the final verdict! Love the bottle.

I love Angel Men, and Alien OM but this Mugler is a hard fail for me. I was planning on blind buying it and glad I held off. On my skin, it comes off smelling like a sweet body spray misted, sweaty inner thigh, and regret. Not in a good way.
    Can’t all be winners.

@Jenjones: If the note pyramid is complete I think the bitterness you speak of could be coming from vetiver. As for what you say smells sour, also could be vetiver but in my experience pink pepper has a tart fruity quality which often people confuse as a red berry note. Could also be the way these notes combine with patchouli and/or the hazelnut note on your skin that’s coming across this way. Patchouli sometimes can smell sour like BO but that wouldn’t come through til dry down I wouldn’t think. I really think it’s the vetiver and pink pepper combo but it doesn’t read that way on me, so skin chemistry and brain function probably have a lot to do with it.

This smells EXACTLY like Palmers cocoa butter lotion on me. It’s not a bad thing but I didn’t want to smell like cocoa butter. Otherwise a nice comfy scent. If you like Palmers cocoa butter lotion then you’ll LOVEE this.

  21. :

I smell something bitter and sour in the top notes of this. I’m trying to figure out what ingredient/note it could be. I actually still like this a lot after I get past that note. If anyone has any ideas I would be so grateful. It’s driving me crazy because a lot of people don’t perceive whatever it is I’m smelling as sour or bitter so it’s hard for me to figure out. Like I said… any ideas welcome.

Wow what a fantastic Angel flanker. This is what I hoped Angel would be; a smooth patchouli and chocolate/hazelnut blend. It sits so beautifully on the skin and is very intoxicating. First spray is nearly identical to Angel but the dry down is where the magic happens. I’m so obsessed and I can’t wait to wear this in the coming fall and winter months!!!

I really like this perfume! Many a compliment while wearing, usually after a hug or putting on a sweater that had been sprayed that morning. Not the silage screamer that Angel is. There is a softness, creaminess to this that I just adore. One of the few scents I have that plays the same on my skin and clothes. I would definitely be buying again, one of my favorites. While there are some similarities to Angel, there is enough of a difference to be appreciated for itself. Especially if Angel was too loud for your tastes.

This is not for me. I smelled the Cocoa hazelnut note for way too long. I must not be an Angel girl after all.

  25. :

I really love this fragrance. The hazelnut cream – cocoa is beautiful and is present all the way through. I don’t believe it’s pink pepper but pink /red berries. I’m sensitive to pink pepper and can usually smell it straight away but this smells fruity to me. (Mugler website also lists pink berries). Crisp berries. Sweet hazelnut-cream. Delicious. I think maybe easier to wear than angel as angel doesn’t always play safe.

This perfume is in the la Vie est Belle and flowerbomb realm. I think it’s the patchuli note that brings them all to a similar place. This one sets its self apart with the strong juicy fruit note and the chocolates hazelnut. I get more of a red berry or cherry than grapefruit. The haZelnut is more chocolatey than coffee like and then the patchuli brings the base of what flower bomb and la Vie est Belle have. Definitely worth a sniff! I can’t get enough.

My best friend wore Angel thoughout the 90s and into the 00s, so I never thought to wear it myself. That is until I tried Angel Muse. It’s different enough that I don’t think I’m riding my BFFs scent coat tails.
The opening is an Angel dead ringer, but it’s the middle drydown that I love. A combo of vetiver and hazelnut-cocoa (Nutella) makes this a delicious scent. It does have Angel’s unmistakable patchouli driven DNA. Even though Muse is more foodie driven, it’s not overly sweet like it’s predecessor. I’m going to file it under guilty pleasures.

The third-best thing I’ve ever smelled (the very best being freshly baked bread, closely followed by the coconut body lotion my mother used to wear when I was a child).
It is probably to sweet to be appreciated after a certain age.
It is probably too violent to be worn in a crowded elevator.
It is probably too simple to conquer those who long for complex harmonies.
    But I’m definitely in love.

It’s a bit lighter and more spicy than original Angel but it’s still too strong for office wear. The dry down is lovely. The spillage and longevity are superb.
UPDATE: the dry down smells like Tiger Balm. I’m not sure whether to like or not.

As others have said, Muse is what I always wanted Angel to be! Yummy, smooth, creamy, and exceptionally well balanced. Angel is Angel and will always be an icon. It’s just that my perception of Angel has drastically deteriorated over the years thanks to countless girls and women who have abused the power of it rather than handling with care and a light hand. It’s been abused by the masses and it’s time for me to move on from this once beloved dirty patch schmorgizbord.
Muse is 1 part Angel and 2 parts delicious! I can’t tell you how perfect it is! Perfect moderate dose of patch that isn’t skanky, and what!? They busted out the Nutella!? Total genius!! Nobody prepared me for this. There’s also this nice touch of fruitiness coming from the pink pepper. Citrus and vetiver adds nice dimension. I’m almost done with my 50 ml bottle and I will have to pick up the big size soon because I just don’t want to be without it.
Farewell, Angel. I will miss who you used to be to me.

  32. :

    3 out of 5

This makes me want to eat my arm! The hazelnut cocoa spread is the star of the show while the vetiver adds an airy base. The grapefruit and pink pepper add some freshness while the patchouli provides an air of mistery. It’s not as cloyingly sweet as other gourmand fragrances.
I like it mostly because of the vetiver, it’s hard to find a feminine fragrance that uses it well. However, I won’t be buying a bottle, I prefer Hermes Vetiver Tonka for a gourmand vetiver, but I wouldn’t mind receiving it as a gift.

  33. :

I can not believe that there are people that state with dry eyes that this perfume has nothing in common with the original Angel. The opening of both fragrances is in fact so much a like that I wondered for a while if I hadn’t Just sprayed Angel, while trying Angel Muse. It is the same earthy, dirty patchouli. Angel muse however quickly turns in to a gooey, caramelly, sweetness where as the original smells very linear of patchouli for the first half hour before turning in to a chocolaty potion. I own and love them both. Angel muse is the more wearable little sister of Angel. But if you can’t stand Angel, I really doubt you can handle Angel Muse.

  34. :

    4 out of 5

In my humble opinion this has quite a lot in common with Angel Innocent which I’ve been missing for a while. There are some particular elements of Dior’s Dune which I adore but can’t wear. It is a quality long lasting not overpowering patchuli with very subtle sweetness. Most probably won’t cause headache if sprayed reasonably. Even though it was a blind buy, I am very happy with the purchase.

  35. :

    3 out of 5

There are so few notes, even an inveterate “atmospheric” appreciator can pick them out…
The trouble I have is that, by the time the acrid grasshopper-leg-jump of the top notes settles down into the hazelnut chocolate, the scent has lost its projection.
    I just have a sample.
If I had a full bottle I would be spraying it everywhere–on skin, clothes, curtains, towels, skin, hair, skin, hair–just to try and top-load the sillage so the heart notes are not too subtle.
    Yes.
This is a “First World” Problem.
Perhaps I should resist the full bottle.
Thinking about it is like thinking about starting smoking again… I’ll be helpless without an Act of Will to not indulge at the most inopportune junctures.
Did I mention I love this?
Damn you Mugler. Damn your eyes.

Edit: Changed my vote to “love” lol. The cream is great
Angel muse actually kinda surprised me. I thought it was gonna be as difficult to like as angel but it really is a lot softer but still with a small angel edge. Like others said, this is way easier to like.
It would be a lot more wearable for me if it’s light pink smell (probably the grapefruit+pink pepper) was even more muted. But that’s just my personal preference, I still wear it though. I admire the really mild rosiness (hardly rose but I guess rose-like) and it’s well balanced with the vetiver+patchouli and cream.
I really like how the vetiver freshens up the patchouli. There’s still that angel dirtiness but it’s pushed back and brightened by the vetiver. And that cream oh my god. So soft and cozy. All that with the celestial angel patchouli makes it pretty complex.
Overall I voted “like”, I would vote “really like” if I could though. I’d actually probably choose this over angel, since I like angel but don’t find it very wearable. It’s not super daring and intense like the original (although its creaminess gives it a soft depth), it’s really happy and welcoming. Makes me imagine this as angel’s more friendly sibling lol.
Also if you like this you should try out the Étoile des Rêves version of angel. Another softer more creamy flanker. It does smell a lot more like the original angel so if you absolutely hate angel then chances are you won’t like it.

This smells like creamy cinnamon hot chocolate with powered milk on my skin, it’s a really cosy warm scent that’s very rich without being too cloying. All the gourmand notes seem to speak out on my skin and that pleased me a lot as I love smelling like a sweet treat and it’s hard to find a good gourmand these days without being too pricey… as the day went on I got soft wafts of the sweet powered cinnamon and chocolate notes. I could only detect the red berries at first spray but that quickly went away which didn’t bother me as I was in the love with this chocolate cinnamon concoction.

  38. :

As much as I loath, and I mean LOATHE the original Angel, I’m ok with this. My sister wears it often and it’s a lot more mellow, less in your face and I get nutella and a bit of vetiver. I tried it once and I noticed on the skin the gourmand notes are magnified but on paper the vetiver is. There’s patchouli but not busload-of-dirty-hippies leval. Not something I wear a lot but I certainly think it’s a gazillion times better than Angel…it’s a gourmand with a bit of masculine edge. Still sexy.

This is the only TM perfume I can wear. I love the sweetness! Angel was awful to me. It just didn’t work out with my skin. My favorite fragrance of all time is Mugler Cologne. I will never understand why he didn’t go in THAT direction with all these flankers. The cologne could have and should have been researched. I am just waiting for the day when he gets away from the licorice and chocolate of Angel and its similar flankers and gets back to basics.

Sorry to all the lovers of this one.
I just tested it today and really made me go mad.
Angel with hazelnut cocoa and nothing more.
I went to a bistro put off all my rings and bracelets and I was scrubbing this chemical super sweet nausea from my wrist like crazy.
My bracelets still have unfortunately the smell on them…
Still after 8 hours plus and a shower it is there in my wrist…
I was waiting to try something more pinky but no.
    Not a gourmandeur one here.
Great for all the Gourmand lovers, that I must confess.
    Sorry Angel Muse…
    ~Edit:
I will give this a second chance.
    ~Edit:
    I tried it again…
All that I get it is chocolate and more chocolate and I wanna eat my hand…
    Unfortunately…NO!

As a guy, I can say this is one of the best everyday or casual ladies scents out there.
It is light, pretty, noticeable, but still has a little flirt or sexyness.
I wouldn’t say this is a date fragrance, but could be used on a first date well.
To me it smells smooth and complex fragrances of white resin, rose, herbs, and maybe a pinch of cherry.
    A Masterpiece here

Too bad that hazelnut cream note only lasts a millisecond. 🙁 That got me into spraying to test it, but I only get patchouli. Patchouli. MORE patchouli. Damn it.

  44. :

My skin is weird. This smells like a men’s cologne on me and I’m loving it!
The vetiver and patch pull equally strong on me with creamy Nutella adding some sweetness therefore it’s more on point with today’s trend for men’s colognes rather than something for ladies. (Not that I care about that stuff anyway) I detect no pepper or grapefruit, maybe they’re just blended well and cannot discern those notes.
I was iffy about it on paper bc its close resemblance to the original Angel EDP. But it’s a different story on my skin.

  45. :

A very wearable version of Angel! If Angel turns into onion sweat on you like it does sometimes on me, this is the Angel for you 🙂 I used to adore Angel but I noticed half of the time it would skew toward the patchouli/green side rather than the gourmand side when I would wear it.. it would get to the point that the chocolate was not perceptible at all and it simply smelled like I forgot to put on deodorant that day, how embarrassing and not the feeling anyone wants to get out of wearing their perfume!
However, in Angel Muse, the patchouli is dialed down quite a bit and I actually find the vetiver to be a bit more dominant, lending a masculine vibe to the decadent Nutella sweetness that keeps it from being *too* sweet. Now this is an Angel I can confidently wear! Like any Mugler, this scent makes a statement–it lasts all day and projects well, you definitely get your money’s worth. I started out this hobby loving Mugler scents and am slowly getting back into them thanks to the lovely Muse!

My cold black winter day, outdoor perfume. If you re in an air conditioned place, a big NO. But especially windy air makea it better, sillage grows even more than huge,be enormous and not only audience you also be pleased with it. Plus, it can be layered with coconut perfumes& body mists thoughy the day, be more bearable. Be careful not to over spray

Yes, yes, it’s all true…. this is the sexier, warmer, sweeter and more wearable version of what OG Angel smells like on the lucky ones. Not me, I am so not chosen…. on me Angel smells like a barnyard, but I like how it smells on some people.
Muse is beautiful on me. It retains that special Mugler essence, but combines the patchouli with a sweet, sensual hazelnut that is just delectable. It’s fairly addictive! I could see men wearing this and smelling really sexy… and it does take a certain confidence in your sensuality to wear it as a woman. It is strong, powerful and apologizes to no one!
I am really so glad that I have access to Fragrantica and had a chance to read up on this, I would have never given this a chance without the community here. To me, this is not an everyday scent (well, I work with children, so a bit heavy for that…) but it is ON for night time or when I am home lounging and feeling luxurious.
It has been said over and over in these reviews, and I am totally going to repeat it: if you cannot wear Angel, try this!!! Seriously, go try it. Now.

Ooh, you dirty, sexy praline patchouli beast, you! Phwoar! I’ve been looking for a replacement for the discontinued love of my life, Womanity – I didn’t even consider Muse because I don’t get on at all well with Angel OG. My mistake. I tried this out of desperation after unsuccessfully stalking the Guerlain counter for an hour. I thought ‘might as well’, wandered over to Mugler, tried this first and *gasp*, my lover. Amazing, couldn’t stop thinking about it. I ordered a FB when I got home. If you don’t do Angel – and honestly, I detested Angel – you may very well love this. Sillage and longevity in beast mode on my skin. Goddamn!
EDIT: Wow, I haven’t had an outburst like that over a fragrance for some time! Needless to say, I adore it. After some wear, I have realised that what really thrills me about this is the vetiver working against the hazelnut cream – it keeps it just ‘masculine’ enough to suit me. I have noticed that many fragrances I love are considered ‘masculine’ on here… I do like sweet fragrances, but only if they come with a dark, kick-ass edge, and that is what Angel Muse does best. Glorious.

I bought this perfume in the form of a refill because I bought it for just $ 30! I have a 10 ml super cute atomizer from another perfume that’s over and I’m going to pour Angel Muse in that. Problem solved!
As for the fragrance, it’s wow! I did not feel in any other perfume such delicious hazelnut notes. Smells like Nutella! Mmmmm yummy!

Wowsa! Big opening. Real big. Harsh and similar to big sis Angel. I think I coughed a few times.
Hour passes….ahhh. The skin worked its magic. Warm, relaxing, delicious. Cocoa. Nice. Sweet and quite warm. A definite wrist sniffer! Yes, ill be getting this soon. Added bonus? I truly love the pebble bottle! It really appeals to me. So good. I’m kinda scared of patchouli (bad experiences drowning in it as my bff in high school bathed herself in it!) But I like the small dose of patch in Muse.

I really am enjoying this delightful version of Angel. The first spray is all about that familiar menthol/piney patchouli that I’ve smelled so many times in Angel and her flankers, BTDT. But soon the patchouli mellows out and a rich, nutty, heavenly and creamy chocolate develops. What a lovely and softer side to Angel this is. Love it!

I’m getting a minty grass with saccharine nutella-dipped oranges. I’ve been trying to scrub it off, but it won’t die!!! I’m having some success drowning it out with Prada Candy. Way worse than Angel.

This delicious beauty is truly one-of-a-kind and my signature… The best way I can describe Angel Muse is that it smells like marshmallows & hazelnut chocolate truffles melting on a campfire in a forest. It’s sweet, nutty & slightly woody. The addition of vetiver is brilliant. It’s extremely ADDICTING & downright INTOXICATING! I literally can’t stop sniffing my arm everyday when I wear it. It blossoms & evolves the best in the colder months; fall & winter. I think Thierry Mugler was successful in his mission to recreate Angel into a newer version for today’s young women. I could never carry off Angel, my skin didn’t agree, at all. It smelled like a cross between male cat pee & nasty B.O. But this one, oh my smells heavenly! If you’re finding it’s too strong, don’t forget the cloud gesture. Spray in front of you & walk through it, perfect scent every time. I think we will be in a committed relationship for a very long time. ♥♥

I love Thierry Mugler fragrances and was very excited to try this one! My twin sister (PearlPrincess) gifted me a full bottle.
It smells woody, floral and slightly sweet from the bottle. Once sprayed onto the skin, the first impression is a warm, woody and mildly sweet scent.
The scent then moves unto something warmer and whispers of florals come about. At the end of a long day, my skin smells like a spiced vanilla that I have no words for!
    Another fragranced gem by Mugler

I´m not into gourmand fragrances – but I dare say this is gourmand heaven.
I can picture this fragrance like an old wooden barrel with the rest of single malt whiskey, raspberry marmalade, forest honey, hazelnut cream, sweet cinnamon & whipped cream.
A perfect scent for autumn nostalgia.

I smell lychee. I usually like some patchouli, just not a fan of this perfume. Kind of headachy

I am sorry to say that I find the original Angel repugnant. I know that is a strong word but to my nose when on my skin that is the only way I can describe it. I could not explain what it is that makes it like this but it does not react with me well at all. It has a sweat smell.
Muse however is like Mugler some how managed to hack into my senses and my brain and took the data I do not understand about the original and reformulated it for me- removing the bad bits and adding goodness. I can smell Angel but it’s beautiful this time around. I received it as a sample with a bottle of Alien. Good move Mugler, I will be making a purchase!

    OH DEAR LORD.
This perfume is out of this world. I want to ‘dislike’ it, but the uniqueness made me click the ‘like’ button instead.
It’s too much, I’m telling you.
The initial spray would turn off some (including me!). But the drydown is good, actually.
That strong note? Is that patchouli? It’s really really strong.
6 out of 10, for me.

This is incredibly sweet. I think if I had tried it just a couple of years ago, I would have loved it. Nowadays, I find myself leaning more towards white florals than sweet patchoulis. It is nice, but I don’t think I would want to wear it for a whole day. When I want sweet, I’ll stick with La Vie Est B
