Description

In 2016, the house of Thierry Mugler opened a new chapter in the story of the famous gourmand galaxy of Angel fragrances – the “futuristic – gourmand” Angel Muse. The Eau de Toilette version of this scent comes out at the end of 2017.

Angel Muse Eau de Toilette represents an addiction to good vibes and an invitation to live every moment fully. The original Eau de Parfum version is announced as the first velvety-gourmet scent, while the new edition introduces a woody-gourmand-fruity composition. The opening notes are described as a “luminous explosion” of mandarin and passion fruit, the heart is an “addictive explosion” of hazelnut cream, and the base creates a “magnetic explosion” of akigalawood and vetiver. It is a “joyous, tender and gourmand eau de toilette (that) reinterprets the duo of hazelnut cream and vetiver of the earlier version with a new fruity facet, giving an extremely soft and subtle result.”

It is available as a 50 and 100 ml Eau de Toilette in a cosmic pebble-shaped bottle that is entirely covered in metallic rose-gold effect lacquer.

The nose behind this fragrance is Quentin Bisch.

One spritz to my wrist and I was smitten with this joyous juice–honestly, if my daughter hadn’t already called dibs on this one I’d have bought it on the spot, it is that good! A perfectly playful passionfruit and orange opening followed by an almost whimsical walk through the woods that teasingly turns into a heavenly hazelnut chocolate concoction that just doesn’t quit. Is this really an EDT? I mean 14+ hours later and I was still getting luscious little whiffs of yummy melted morsel Mugler. As it stands, I am now counting down the days ’til Halloween when I can gift this to my daughter for her birthday; not sure how lovely she’ll look with my nose at the nape of her neck, though I’m certain I won’t be the only one mus[e]ing about her sensational scent aura …

Very nice, I like it just like the original.
Smells like hazelnut-chocolate cream to me.
Sweet hazelnut cream with some woody notes.
It’s a well composed gourmand scent with some masculine/woody/spicy notes.
It’s like a sweet hazelnut dessert in a library filled with old books.

I have worn Angel EDP since 1994, introduced the much loved Angel Muse EDP into my fragrance wardrobe about a year ago, and I now have Angel Muse EDT!
Muse EDP is sweeter and has more creamy hazelnut, whereas the Muse EDT is very much (to my nose) like original Angel EDP and Angel eau Sucree or Fruity Fair collided!
Muse EDT is lighter than Muse EDP and regular Angel EDP, but it is so amazing to me how similar, yet totally different each one smells.
I have over 50 bottles of fragrances (Men, Women, Unisex) and Mugler is for sure my #1 house. Tom Ford #2 YSL #3.
Warm or hot days, I think Muse EDT will be my go to choice for a Mugler. I personally have never found Angel EDP or Muse EDP hard, bad or too strong for warm temps, but if applied too heavy, they can be very “present”. LOL Although, Angel EDP is a shell of it’s former self after IFRA castrated it 🙁
Overall I am very impressed with Muse eau de Toilette. Similar to EDP Muse, but different. They are like our children. All different, all loved…just some days one is better or easier 😉

i kid you not the first thing that came to my mind when i smelled this was nutella…i love angel but my skin doesnt bring out the gourmand note in it and its soooo frustrating angel on my skin is just straight up patchouli and while i still love the patch in angel i dont see my self paying all that money to only smell like patchouli…this works wonders for me because it is deliciously gourmand but there’s still patch playing in the backgroud…to me this is a good flanker of angel especially that i am a nutella addict and i kid you not the first time i sniffed this scent and without even looking at the notes the first thing that came to my mind was nutella not regular hazelnut like in angel muse eau de parfum but the actual chocolat spread agh i love this i have a sample but i am definetly planing on getting a full bottle

This variation of Angel Muse is a succulent juicy tropical concoction. The passion fruit and citrus fruit gives it a fresh fruity vibe. I’ve only tested it a few times and I ordered a bottle today. It’s a delicious decadent fragrance that will make you smell wonderful. You can definitely get the Angel Muse DNA in this but it’s scaled back and the vetiver and fruits shine. Love it 🙂

My new signature. I cannot get enough. It’s true love. Essence of complexion for me. Fresh, sweet, spicy. One of a kind.

Very nice, fresh, gourmand woody scent. Good choice for spring, fall and mild winter for any citrus & hazelnut scents’ lovers. Usually nutty scents are not my cup of tea, but this one is really well blended!

    Juicy fresh sweet sexy
I cannot find better words to describe this fragrance. It is all in one. It ´s sweet, fresh, juicy and a little bit spicy. I am addicted to Muse edt these days.
I have never been asked what am I wearing as often as now when I wear Muse eau toilette.
It´s more fresh than eau de parfum

The other day I was wearing Angel Muse EDT, and by the evening-time when I was snuggled up with my 4 year-old son, he said to me, “Mmmm, Mama you smell yummy.” “Really? What do I smell like?” “You smell like chocolate and butter!”
    Enough said, LOL!
When I first discovered the EDP, I was immediately smitten. I was SO excited to be able to fall in love with, and be able to wear, an Angel fragrance, as the original had always been a turn-off to me. So when I found out the EDT was coming out with a slightly different smell I was really impatient to get it, so I pre-ordered it from the Mugler website.
When it first arrived, I was a little disappointed. The initial blast smelled too much like grapefruit and chocolate, which smelled weird to me. But then, I’m not really sure what happened. I tried it again a few weeks later, and either it was the warmer weather, or my palate had evolved, or I was just ready for a fresher take on Angel Muse. Now, maybe I love it even more than the EDP!
This is a complex scent, and that means that it evolves. The citrus/fruit combo does smell a bit grapefruit, and that’s actually really nice for warm weather. The hazelnut and vetiver do take over soon after, and yes, the vetiver is what some reviewers are reading as masculine, but I do not mind this one bit. I think vetiver is the new patchouli, and more and more frags may get on the bandwagon.
In the end, I think Angel Muse, both EDP and EDT are the modern Angel. The good news is it’s not as prevalent as all the LVEB’s and Flowerbombs out there, so if you wear this you can still be unique. And (fingers crossed) it’s not going anywhere!

    Hello, lovely skillful noses!
I’m sorry for using this page for discussion, and I promise I will delete this post, I just wanted to encourage those who have already had a chance to test this to testify if there’s really no patchouli here…
    Thank you!

Am I the only one that does not like this?
I bought this because I love sweet scents, so when I saw the notes of hazelnut chocolate I was sure I’d love it. However I do not smell this note at all. This to me smells very unisex/masculine, and I’m assuming this is because of the vetiver. This is the note I smell the most prominently. That and perhaps the woody notes. This is very unique scent so if that is what you want that is what you’ll get. But If, like me you like sweet feminine scents and are buying it for the chocolate note then this is not the one.
On the up side it is very long lasting and has decent sillage.

Very yummy scent. To my nose it smells indeed very similar to angel muse edp, only lighter, a bit fresher I would say. I prefer the edp for its better projection and longevity, but if you think the edp is too strong for you then this could be a good alternative.

I love it! Not a fan of Angel, so naturally I didn’t care for the Angel muse Edp. But this is completely different. Its more citrus and sweet. A lot softer nutty smell on the dry down. I smell more woodsy. Not a super strong smell. So its very office friendly. I’m in Love.

I vastly prefer this to Muse edp.
I smelled this blind to the notes, and I would’ve sworn it had raspberry and rhubarb! It’s like a summer sorbet in comparison to the edp. There’s an undertone of Muse and Angel here. I really love it.

I probably like this one even better than the edp. Opening is gorgeous it is so juicy and yummy!! I am impressed how long wearing and powerful it is for an edt. Great job mugler.

Really enjoying this sample…super nutty like a nutella pancake with a drizzle of passion frout coulais…YUMM
**5 hours later a very strong vetiver drywdown! Super powerful I’m impressed.

I recently received this perfume in the mail, with out testing the fragrance before hand. I LOVE the EDP, however, I have been having issues with fragrances and headaches lately. So I decided to purchase this hoping it wouldn’t cause any issues. So far, so good!
It’s very light, as it is and EDT. It’s lighter than I would have expected from Mugler. Even though it is so light and airy, I can still smell it on myself. I don’t feel a headache coming on with this scent. Which I LOVE. I loved the EDP, but thankfully there is something out there I can use, that is just as good and fit for the hotter weather.

Back for my final thoughts : After wearing this ….i realized its a bit synthetic on the drydown and this does not last …i think the EDP is much creamier, more depth, smoother and its like if “it aint broke dont fix it “…sadly returned this. Didnt like it enough to keep it. Id say go with the original EDP…without the weak fruit synthetic tweeks…does nothing for the fragrance …because the drydown is a cheap form dumb down to the original EDP. EDP is best choice. This no.

I like this and its very fruity fresh on me and i love the original but this smells nothing like the original only a hint on first min spray but it quickly turns fruity green tropic fresh….this reminds me of Angel Innocent perfume that Mugler released back in 2004 . ..almost identical updated version. I still love the original much more but do like this for a summer /spring option .

I have loved Muse since it was released and wasn’t sure on this one, based on the notes. Well, that was stupid of me, because I may love this one even more.
It’s got the hazelnut/patchouli/vetiver background (and is recognisable as a sister to Muse) but the orange/passionfruit notes give it a playful cheerfulness that works so well. It’s like a grown up reminiscing of the smell of an orange creamsicle. I want to eat this! There’s also a reminder of Gucci Rush when it dries down, but sweeter. I am so pleased with how different it is to the EDP, though; I really think it says volumes about the creativity at Mugler that it stands alone so well.
Longevity is great, as I’d expect from a Mugler anyway. I have torn through my sample and feel the inevitability of a full bottle before spring kicks in.

If u like powdery soft scents….like guerlain or chanel 5……u wont like this. This is your risky ambisexual woman or male who wants action…and likes to be noticed across a room

Oh dear, a disappointing blind buy for me. I find this very similar to the original Muse in that the vetiver is pretty much all I smell. I also sense a menthol/clean patchouli that’s also present in Eau Sucree. Then it’s just more & more vetiver. My husband said he smelled vanilla and citrus, but I couldn’t get past the vetiver. Where’s the chocolate hazelnut cream? I wanted a big creamy dollop of it on toast with orange juice and now I’m just hungry and sad! Maybe I was expecting a realistic gourmand instead of an interpretation.

Angel EDP is my signature… I used to HATE the stuff but did a 180 some 5 years ago and we have been living happily ever after, ever since!
I have really enjoyed some of the flankers (le gout de parfum and liqueurs in particular).
Angel Muse EDP should have been a love but I found it a little too sweet and cloying.
Angel Muse EDT sounded promising – a little fresher, lighter and containing passion fruit – a huge love of mine!
Performance is softer but decent and the fruits really lift the mood of the Nutella heavy EDP.

This is not so different from Angel Muse in terms of “mood”. It’s sweet fresh young but with a hippie edge.
Don’t expect this to be a simple orange, nutty, sweet thing. It’s more special than that. The woody/earthy notes thrown in the mix are to me the Mugler signature.
It’s a bit dirty in my opinion. It’s artsy. I see a hippie chic girl going to a indie show in a very cool, unknown place.
It’s really interesting and fun, and very addictive.
On the other hand it’s not something you can wear anywhere.
Also it’s very subtle compared to Angel and Angel Muse. This one I can spray it 3/4 times and barely notice it, I have to be close to smell something.
It’s good though…. I will try it a little longer before I make a choice. But so far, another good one from Mugler. 🙂

WHERE is everyone trying this scent?! It says it was released at the end of 2017, yet it is not in stores, nor on the official Mugler website. There aren’t even samples available through the site. Can somebody tell me how they are testing this already and if anyone knows when it will actually be available to buy?

(But I feel like the first Muse had to happen in order for this one to be this good).

This one is totaly beautiful .Easyer to wear then The edp wich can be a bit Thick sometimes .
The sweetnes and warmth in the edp can be a bit heavy sometimes. But in this edt its lifted by citrus in the opening , I thought of Grapefruit first time i sprayed it one .Not to tart but sweetend . I see it must be the Mix between pashionfruit and citrus that makes this feal . To me there was also a slight touch of berrys . The hazelcream is also dominent but not to thick IMO. The vetiver and woods makes a nice base to ground it and not make it to girly.
I would say that this is more like a Innocent angel compered to Angel . more then Angel edp and edt . It has a bit of the berry from Innocent angel on my skin.
    Very beautiful indeed .

Hmmm…sounds interesting, not into too ‘fruity’ perfumes, I can’t imagine how this edition will manage to smell lighter and fruitier compared to the previous one, but the EDP was a bit too harsh for me. Excellent gourmand though a bit too much, but that’s Tierry Mugler. Doing this review just to remember of reviewing it and let you know all soon. Happy holidays fragranticans <3

This is a beautifully delicious scent. To me, it still has that gourmand creamy hazelnut chocolate from the original with an added light/subtle cherry. I know cherry is not a note listed here but that’s what comes across to me. I suppose it could be the passion fruit but I’m not familiar with what that smells like. I think it’s slightly lighter than the original but not by much, and it lasts just as long.
To sum it up, a creamy decadent [subtle] cherry chocolate! And my new obsession!
