This is my second TM fragrance from this month and I just have to give this one review.
I have no experience or whatsoever of smelling The original Angel because they didn’t have a tester at that specific shop but anyways…
Smell:In the initial spray, you get a strong and bitter dark cocoa scent. Its definitely not like biting into a luxury dark chocolate but rather, sniffing a high quality cocoa powder. On my skin,it starts off like that and it smells really green as well like pine or something. And it’s boozy a’right. The moment that liquor note hits my nose it made me go “This is very liquor smelling” and it made me go “oh ya”(duh for the word “liqueur”).I’m not a liquor connoisseur but you definitely smell the boozy accord. Then you’ll be able to smell the dusty patchouli alongside the honey and the dark chocolate which are the most prominent note for me.Under warm climate, the patchouli is amplified but under the cold night,It’s the fluffy and delicious gourmand “Angel” that everyone is raving about I assume. It’s Dark choco-Patchouli-Honey and the Cognac accord that are the most noticeable notes for me.
Longevity:This is very long lasting and I took a shower there’s still a faint aroma lingering on my skin afterwards whilst my skin was still warm out of the shower.
Sillage-wise:Projects about an arms length or so,or maybe it fills a room.I don’t know because I only spritz this one once on the chest area and I’m done.
To add:This is a very mature scent but screw it.I’m 19 and this scent makes me feel like I’m floating on air. Also,Like TdO’s Jasmin Di Giava (which is said to be a dupe for Angel)It makes me fall asleep.

I love the original Angel but I love this even more!
I found this back in 2016 at Marshall’s for $29 and this is just delicious smelling!!!!
I love how its similar to Angel but has its own uniqueness. On me its mainly chocolate with hints of honey, caramel and cognac and very faint patchouli.
Longevity on me is a whole 24hrs and sillage is moderate.

Very nice flanker. I could swear that I smell a bit of civet in it. This musky note reminds me of the Extrait de parfum version.
It has something quite floral as well, frangipani maybe?. It’s slightly less sweet (or “cloying”, but I love Angel EdP) than the original EdP and can be worn in spring or autumn as well.
The honey/beeswax note is very noticeable. It leaves a surprising vanilla custard dry-off and the musky/civet note is the longest lasting one on my skin.
It has a unisex vibe, like most Mugler creations.

On me, this Angel wears like the description of the original Angel should in that I really get the chocolate and gourmand quality, While I’ve graduated from a real hater of Angel to liking it much, this one gets much more wear, since it isn’t pure patchouli for me. Intense chocolate-yum!

I’m somewhat surprised more people don’t get a strong jasmine note in this (as well as the original). To me the jasmine is quite prominent…I’d say in the top 5 most prominent notes…it varies, sometimes only second to patchouli, which is always the most prominent in Angel to my nose. This is very similar to the original, just a tad boozy, but with better longevity on my skin.

Boozy, rich dark chocolate, sweet of course, yet dark, mysterious, and sexy. Angel Liqueur reminds me in feel to Hypnotic Poison EDP and even AP L’Agent. Different smells, but all call to mind the same “aura” which is one of a somewhat gothy femme fatale. The patch in OG Angel is too much like toothpaste on me, but not in Liqueur… I always encourage those who have the same experience with the original to try some of the flankers, and this joins Eau Sucree and Muse among the flankers I especially favor. Naturally this is a bomb and lasts a hundred years. Great stuff!

I was complemented right on while wearing this today, but since I masked it up with A*Men Pure Tonka I don’t exactly know which one exactly the lady referred as “lovely” I want to believe the mixture of both got to her sense of smell. Anyhow, I do love to wear it, since it belongs to all the Angels nature male or female. Basically all are gender neutral. 😉
I thought I was going to be a walking candy today wearing both but it was a great combination. Loving it.

For once the bottle looks better in person! Very very pale blue rather than solid silver metallic (I defo have 2013 edition). Looks great with light behind it!
Recently acquired taste of fragrance and so happy to find this online!
Less patchouli, softer sillage and staying power (tho still long lasting and strong).
Reminds me of the smell of Christmas cake mixture – dried fruits and brandy/cherry.
Still angel but to a connoisseur, enough of a difference to justify adding the a collection!
This angel has been on the festive spirits!!!

Smells like the original Angel’s breath while talking to you animatedly after having a couple of fruity cocktails at the beginning of a night out. You will know if this appeals to you or not. I prefer the original.

    You sneeky Angel flanker…
This one opens with Angel, the patchouli dialed down but not out, in its lineup a boozy cherry cognac and tropical pineapple and fruits. Chocolate, honeyed plums, coconut and faint orchid floral note with tonka enriching the base. This is a rich angel that got boozed up on a tropical island. After the angel opening it morphs into Just Me by Claude Montana (1997) minus the leather and richer.
This is very fun for an angel enthusiast or someone that appreciates a melange of different notes combining into something extraordinary. What a fun trip Angel 2013 Liquer provides.. yum….shame the silver bottle is so small…

Having tried the ‘Taste of’ and loved that, I wish I had got another bottle of that instead as I love that the most, having said that, this is nice for a change. I definitely get much less patchouli from this flanker & the dry down is almost pure honey on me….with a slight off note that my husband says is in my head, he likes it. Not sure what the off note is, don’t get it with the original or taste of. If you like honey you will love this. A nice autumnal/winter perfume – not for a summers day!
Another edit….the slight off note disappears after a few hours when this smells its best, a boozy, fruity coconuty warm concoction!

I wanted in my collection an Angel, that doesn’t smell like the Angel, so I wanted a perfume with that longevity, projection and sweetness that the original Angel is famous for, but without the annoying patchouli. A few people mentioned in their reviews that patchouli in this particular blend is tolerable, so I decided for a blind buy. The first try in the nook of my arm was a disaster: the opening was great, but after about an hour I could smell only dead, fermented leaves – that’s how patchouli smells on my skin. Luckily, it turns out that sprayed on my wrists and neck this blend smells totally different. The name “liqueur” is very fitting, because the booziness of cognac is definitely there, mixed with honey and chocolate known from the original composition, as well as the scent of tropical fruits, which was a very nice and a bit unexpected surprise. The longevity is still as great as ever, solid 10+ hours, but the sillage is not as suffocating as the original Angel can be. I’m very pleased with this scent and like it more and more with every spray. Since it’s a rarity now, I would say: blind buy it, if you like the notes, you won’t regret it!

Sorry to say this flanker did not appeal to me either. It actually had a skankiness in the drydown that I didnt care for. Angel edp is my one and only!

Where do I start with this one? I may have finally found ‘my’ angel!
Angel Liqueur is a complex, delicious gourmand – with almost zero sweetness. The cotton candy and crazy over-the-top berry vibe I got from the drydown of Angel seems to be gone! This is deep, rich, velvety – the spotlight here is on caramel, chocolate (similar to Angel TOF), & intense honey – in that order! Sitting on top of the infamous Thierry Mugler patchouli base, of course! The overall “feel” of this flanker is velvety smoothness. The addition of cognac adds a much more dry and flat feel to Angel, with a touch of booziness, and once half of those unnecessary floral/green/citric notes were removed from Angel EDP, there is so much more flow to this concept.
Luckily – the strength and intensity wasn’t edited out of this one! SUPER long lasting, one spray will do ya.
So, TL;DR – Angel EDP Comparison: this flanker is
    1. Smoother, much less SHARP patchouli.
    2. Deeper, and less painfully sweet.
    3. Complex, but much less of a jumble.
    Big love!

This is my first ever review so here goes, i was desperate to try the taste of fragrance version but in the end on advice went for this one. Firstly I saw the picture on box is a bit decieving as it looks like your going to open the box to a blue-ish coloured bottle but alas not 🙁 instead its silver and a little on cheap side-plastic see through top-would have been nice if that was glass but thats bearable-the silver colour bottle is sprayed over the top of some blue hue glass but if its not up by the light of a window you can hardly see the lovely blue at all.The nozle on mine spits at me -so bit cheap-but refillable. Now for the juice, this will sound crazy but if you smell roll up tobbaco in a pouch that sent is something similar in this sent-but in a lovely way maybe thats the cherry wood bit.
As others have said honey is there too, tiss a bit boozy and spicy sweet but i cant smell chocolate myself. As a blind buy i,m pleased as somehow this is sexy but also a bit masculine ! I sprayed a tiny bit on my hubby and i swear he could have taxed it and got away with it easily it suited him..He would never wear a perfume 4 a lady its just not fitting in his thinking lol -so it stays mine Also im not parting with it as it,s yummy, smokey, deep and weeny bit spicy with just enough musk and amber would have liked it a tad more sweeter myself. .The hubby was not over keen he said its -OK-with not too much emotion but i have ignored him a bit lately looking up perfumes so i think hes bit jarred with me, bless him 🙂 still i would recommend it if u havent already got a zillion Angel flankers already and i,m gagging to try taste of fragrance Angel- coco powder too even as blind buy or should i not bother is it almost twin-like ? 🙂
6 Months later…… Never really reach 4 this now it has a too manly smell and is missing something, maybe mine was sent gone off or something but I can’t lie this is not 4 me and it’s difficult to try b4 u buy as u have to order online. I think now I should have gone 4 the coco added version 🙁

The honey is dominating this fragrance .. And a slight of cherry syrupy vibe.. Very long lasting ang very sweet .. I can’t smell chocolate in this fragrance.. Good for winter nights

So this perfume has two different notes than the original Angel, which are Cognac and Tropical Fruits and it misses all these notes that they weren’t that apparent at the original Angel anyway (such as the citruces). The outcome? For me at least at my skin and from what my nose is perceiving is the same. I am an Angel lover and Angel is my favorite perfume of all the times. I was very excited and blind bought this just to find out that it is almost identical. No booze-ness for me, no extra cherries. I really believe that if you don’t like the original Angel, you won’t like this flanker cause there is no much difference. The patchouli is there, vanilla is there, the huge sillage is there and longevity that goes on and on…

On me, this 2013 version smells almost the same with the 2009 version of Liqueur de Parfum, perfomance-wise they’re also quite close. A much more rounded concoction of boozy cognac, deep caramel and honey, with a less aggressive patchouli. Very beautiful.

Extremely strong perfume !! Like seriously do not spray this more than two times. You will choke on impact. With one spray you whole room will smell like ‘Angel’.
But yes a lovely fragrance once it dries down, lasts FOREVER ! and does smell gorgeous 🙂
I just never know when to wear it though because it does take a while to settle so I wouldn’t wear it to work because when I get there it would be extremely strong and cloying.
Like the best way to wear this is put it on in the morning and then in the evening go out for a meal without topping up and the perfume would smell beautiful and still strong by that time.
I think an EDT would do me fine next time.
Still a nice fragrance though 🙂

This fall, expect to see Angel “Taste of Fragrance” and “Liqueur de Parfum”, and A*Men “Pure; Malt, Coffee and Havane” make a return on store shelves. Additionally, you’ll also see the new Pure Wood. I don’t know if it’s going to be the same everywhere else in the world, but I know in Canada, there’s going to be an irresistible offer with the “Les Parfum de Cuir” collection starting in August at The Hudson’s Bay.

Absolutely addictive. I have the older version and like it as well but this new angel liqueur is out of this world. I didn’t bother getting it for all these months because I thought its the same as the older version of liquer. Oh i was wrong. As much as I like the previous , this one is smother and nicer. So pretty and sweet and warm, no harsh edges just liquid sweet pleasure. My whole family gives the thumbs up for this one. Smells of chocolate and treats , vanilla and honey and cognac, cherries and melon and all the good stuff in the world 🙂
Angel is a paradox perfume and you do not need to like nor love it in order to like its Flankers. Yes they remind of the original but are , in my opinion , nicer and more wearable.
Also try SUCRE, the new summer flancer. It’s amazing !

Cherry, drizzled in honey….lingering in a gentle cloud of cocoa powder. That’s what I get in the opening which lingers for about an hour. Maintains a strong, true to angel scent, softens without losing its heart of sweet chocolatey goodness. Sillage is perfect, longevity is good and I love that it quiets down enough to need to sniff my arm. Cherry note takes a back seat to let the real Angel come forward. This is good!

Concoction of cognac and chocolate makes it smell leathery on my skin. Heavy, strong, mesmerizing. Just how i like it. I smells very similar to regular Angel edp with dominating note of dirty patchouli.Would i buy it having already other bottle? Sure i would! And i’m glad i did :). Sillage and longevity perfect!

I got my Angel Liquor sample directly from Mugler Online and i must say that i find this very similar to the original Angel the only difference is that this version is slightly more juicier than vanilla chocolate thick because of the booze in this which is making it more intense without the richness of the original with like a bit of cherry wood flavor..the original is more spicier and richer but i mean we are talking about a minimal difference..i would say if you don’t have angel you should get this one because i think with the booze it smells better while the original has more of the chocolate in there and this one tones it down a bit but overall almost the same fragrance..i really like the liquor line i think in some senses its better to buy the liquor than the originals because they are just all together more well rounded and last longer

I guess I don’t have much to report but I did finally wear this, twice, and TBH it smelled a lot like the first Angel liqueur de parfum (and also the taste of fragrance). In fact, it was hard to find much of a difference. I felt the new Alien liqueur was quite different than its last incarnation, but this one didn’t feel much different than the old one I have. It’s nice, and it definitely smells different than the original Angel, but if you have the old liqueur, you probably don’t need this one unless you are running low are you are keen on the bottle (I do like the new bottle!)

I went to Macy’s today inquiring if they had the new Angel Liqueur Parfum yet. The SA on duty went to the Angel testers (kept behind the counter as if they are gold) and sprayed a paper strip for me. I told her she had just sprayed regular Angel and pointed to the Angel Liqueur in the cabinet. “Oh,” she said, “I didn’t realize there was a difference.” She picked up another Angel bottle and sprayed another paper strip and handed it to me. I told her it still wasn’t the right Angel.
At this point, she yelled to another fragrance associate for help. “I’m so confused with all these Angels”, she said. The head of the department knew exactly what I wanted. She pulled a hidden box from the bottom drawers, opened it, and sprayed it on a piece of paper, then handed it to me. She then handed me the rather cheap looking bottle.
Finally. I was able to smell this new Angel and hold the chintzy sprayer in my hand. I sprayed more on myself and waited. My immediate first sense was of smoke, which lasted all of about 30 seconds. And then I smelled Angel. Just Angel. And that’s what I told the fragrance SA. She smelled my arm. We chatted awhile.
She told me about a huge in-store promotion for Angel tomorrow at the store and how there would a GWP.(The gifts were actually samples, she said, and the rep had been in making little bags up.) Huh??? I had to buy Angel to get samples of Angel? That’s my GWP? This is getting out of hand, I thought.
I sniffed my arm again and told her I still did not discern any noticeable difference between my original Angel and this. She made 2 other SA’s smell my arm and asked them what they were smelling. They both told her Angel. She was very perplexed. She swore she smelled a boozier, smokey perfume, although the count was against her.
I told her I would compare it at home, which I did. No difference, except for the initial 30 second blast of smoke. If you wear and like Angel, save your money, because frankly, after 8 hours, when I finally washed it all off, Angel Liqueur de Parfum was simply Angel.
Since I’ve already written my review for Angel, kindly refer to it as a review for Angel Liqueur de Parfum. They are identical for me.

The truth is that I can’t keep up with Mugler and these annual revamps of this fragrance but seriously this is amazing! Lovers of Angel must try this beauty!
Update: the compliments do not stop every time I wear this beauty!

It was my mistake trying to acquire this version of Angel despite all the advise from people on this wonderful site! I am not keen on Angel original any more (I have worn it with the bucketload many years ago and cannot stand it no more).I guess I was looking for a much smoother, easy going version of the original, for something altogether new and revolutionary. I wanted to re-invent the thrill the original Angel gave me the first time I smelled it back in its debut. Overall, Angel Liqueur 2013 smells almost like Angel to me. My nose is not very trained to be able to tell the difference. Maybe it’s slightly less harsh, but I cannot tell them apart… I guess I was looking for the wrong thing in the wrong place… I’m sure many of you will adore this version but it wasn’t for me. My only word of advice is if you do not like Angel, you will most likely dislike Liqueur too, no miracles here:(

I recieved my bottle of this today. This has go to be what angels in heaven smell like!! This is the most beautiful fragrance I have ever smelled!! This is a creamier version softer somehow. And the patchouli is quite prominate on my skin as well as the chocolate and honey. The drydown is as amazing as the opening notes. Smells like a dream!! I really hope they keep this one around. Its rather expensive but worth it!! Also a small bottle 1.1 oz. I guess ill just have to get myself another bottle or two. The bottle is also georgeous. The longevity and siliage are excellent I do want to be noticed and this is definately one to get that particular job done!! But its not overpoweing just a beautiful scent that leaves a lovely trail. I LOVE IT!!!! recommend it highly

Nice dry down. Smells more of chocolate than the classic to me. Almost had a creamy texture of a fine Belgian chocolate filled with a cognac liqueur centre. Delicious! Takes me back to when I was a kid and would find the stash of chocolates my parents would keep that we’re filled with either cognac, brandy, rum or cherry brandy.

Just been to Selfridges in London and smelled all of them on my skin. Angel is the only one smelling slightly different to the original A.L. quite nice though. Alien ,Womanity and A*Man smell exactly the sameas they originals. I know people are saying – ‘no they are different becase it says in the description’ rubbish my friends. I love Thierry M.a lot and i do weare his stuff most days.but enough is enough, Rerelising ‘new’ flankers every 6 month just keeps them ( Clarins )going.
What i want to point out is the look of the bottles, not good at all. they look very cheap and chaildish and the plastic is like from the fair ground. They skimmed on the finish- shame. Won’t be buying any of those i m afraid despite having most of T.M. fragrance. Thats all folks. try before you buy – my advise

This is a very crude review, but here it is so far, just so you have something to go on…. I was at Nordies and the manager had a tester of this tucked under the counter. She got it out just for me. She only let me smell it on a paper strip, but here’s what I think so far: Initially it smelled more like the original Angel than the Angel Liqueur (the blue one that I currently own), so I thought that was weird. After a few hours of letting the paper sit, it smelled like tropical fruits. I’ve noticed people voting for that, and I’m not sure whether they have smelled it before (I am not voting for notes until I try it on my skin) but I do agree that this one is probably a little more tropical fruit-y with some caramel and honey. Other than that, it smells very similar to the original Angel, and to me it’s less boozy/chocolatey than the previous Liqueur. Take that for what’s it’s worth; it’s all I’ve got! I’ll update this once I get a true sample 🙂
