Description

Thierry Mugler presents Angel Eau de Toilette in 2011, the new, modern version of the famous original Angel from 1992. The new fragrance comes in a bottle designed as a comet, symbolizing eternal renewal, and is made so that it simultaneously exudes freshness, innocence and sensuality expressed with deep oriental-gourmand components. It was developed by perfumer Amandine Marie.

The composition is described as an oriental – gourmand – powdery, developing in “waves” as a “whirlwind of desires”. The fragrance opens with heavenly fresh wave of bergamot and pink pepper, which is slowly replaced by delightful wave of praline and dewy red fruits. Voluptuous wave brings notes of patchouli, cedar wood, vanilla and white musk.

The new face of the Angel campaign, as well as of the new Angel Eau de Toilette, is Eva Mendes.

Angel Eau de Toilette is available in bottles of 40 and 80 ml.
The nose behind this fragrance is Amandine Clerc-Marie.

This smells like someone who was stoned headed to the kitchen and thought he could make a batch of perfume just like Jacques Guerlain . ( Not for me and I am tired of food perfumes that are gimmicky and pretend to be an avant garde form of art . )

So beautiful! Angel EDT is clean and naughty all at once!
I’m interviewing all of the Angels as part of my signature scent search and I do believe the EDP will be the one to win my heart, but huge love to the EDT, she’s perfect for a day when it’s just not appropriate to go full-Angel. Although having said that, one of my criteria in the signature scent search is that it should be bold, polarising and distinctive. The EDT is still that, still Angel, still celestially potent! Just a more subtle and light version for my Angel arsenal.
On me the red berries come across as cassis, which really pleases me. I get a sexy cassis-patchouli, sweet but less caramelly than the original, beautifully creamy in the dry-down, with plenty of fresh-from-the-shower musk.Clean skin with a frisson of raunch.
I was wearing a lilac faux-fur scarf against the autumnal cold, and when I picked it up later it was infused with Angel in her more delicate form, and I buried my face in it and felt transported to a heavenly realm where I became a sex goddess…
Despite being an EDT she lasts all day and night, oh Angel my new love!

There’s a nail polish remover acetone note in the beginning followed by the usual angel that’s has had some of its stuffing taken out. Still red berries and chocolate though. The florals shine through.

    This is it!
At the beggining it smells identical to Midnight Poison. I love it and I guess this was the perfume I smelt sometimes and was wondering where was a secret source of Dior’s Midnight Poison?
Just when it was launched I bought of Ebay a pen shaped bottle. I was suspicious it could be a fake but it was just a free sample that someone decided to get rid of. And since then I have never ever used it til now, when I started testing all Angel’s variations I have.
This is a winner and far better than Angel EDP

I love this Eau de Toilette but just to warn all the fans it is being reformulated next year as some ofvthebingredoare being banned. I hope it doesn’t change the scent.
The Eau de Parfum has already been ruined due to reformulations!

I do not like the EDP,its patchouli dose is too much for me. But I like the much softer EDT.

I prefer the Hypnotic Poison- kind of sweetness. Angel is sweet but in an unpleasant way. Maybe the patchouli is too much. I don’t know but I don’t like it.

This one is the women’s counter part of the Angel men. It shares the same infamous “tar” note DNA but honestly, i can stand its opening compared to A*MEN but to be once again honest this pales in comparison to its EDP version.

I found this less sickly sweet than the original Angel but still a big nope. Vetiver & killer patchouli + cigarette smoke…to my nose…many people will like this but it’s not my kind of scent. It does last very long even on skin or paper, I’ll give it that.

This was my signature scent in my late teens. Seems an odd choice now, maybe I was trying to seem more mature than I actually was.
The bottle design is really so charming, the magnetic click of a cap makes any cosmetic product seem even more luxurious.
I never really bothered breaking down what Angel smells like to me, it’s just Angel and it’s instantly recognizable. I cannot compare it to anything else.
It’s got a huge presence, like any Mugler perfume in my opinion. It’s like a shoulder-padded power suit in a bottle.
It’s sexy, it’s glamorous, it’s fascinating, but it’s not easy-to-approach inviting and it’s definitely not for everyone.
Despite all the seductive sweetness, it almost has a masculine tone to me.

On paper: So this is the girl version of Axe. I can’t say I like the pineapple in it.
Edit: Apparently there’s no pineapple in it. And yet I swear it’s there: a sugary fake pineapple scent on top of a generic Tom Ford.
My boyfriend likes it though. Go figure.

I cannot wear Alien EDP at all, but I love its version in the EDT. The same goes with this Angel line.
Alien EDP (including all the intense flankers) is so deep and rich with white flowers combined with “spices”…from space 🙂 The EDT is lighter in that “spices” group and more “understandable” and enjoyable to me.
Angel EDP is heavy with patchouli and again, the “spices” (afterall, it belongs to Mugler house with Alien). And again, this EDT targets more on fans like me 🙂 To my nose, it is lighter in the patch and “easier” to accept, leading to an enjoyment.
And the whole Aura line, it is out of my “jurisdiction”, so no comment there 🙂
I have tried many times to express my thoughts toward Mugler fragrances in general, and I always find myself “struggling” with describing their notes and scents. So those are my thoughts about them. They may sound inaccurate or primitive to the true fans of the lines, but with all due respect, that’s all I could come up with…for now 🙂 One thing that I truly admire Mugler fragrances though, is the breath taking bottle designs of them ALL.

I thought maybe this edition could be “edibel” by me, but nay. Too much like it’s mother, Angel eau de parfum. It is not on my want list anymore. Too Heavy, too spicy, too much patchouli I think. Maybe it is better in Cold weather, here it is full summer now.

Since I have worn Angel edp since 1994, most Angel “flankers” disappoint me and the edT is awful on me. I do not know what my skin does to the edT, but it turns it into old lady Jean Nate after bath splash :-O Seriously! The first couple of times I wore the edT, I could not put my finger on “that scent”. It took maybe a week or so and then I remembered my great grandma!! Angel edT does not work for me. The rich, complex and amazing Angel edp is great, edT is a major fail on me!

At first I thought I didn’t like this one because it opens with the tart red berries. But the after an hour or so, it is heavenly soft Angel sweetness minus the aggression of the EDP. Awesome for the warmer months since I am an Angel addict and sad to put away the original. Eau Sucree and Aqua Chic just did not do it for me so I’m glad I found the EDT.

  16. :

This is a good daytime/warm weather alternative to the EdP. It’s a bit lighter and sweeter, but when the sweetness fades, it leaves a warm, peppery vanilla scent behind. It doesn’t have quite the depth and complexity of the EdP, but if the EdP is overwhelming to someone, they might enjoy the EdT instead.

The edp and edt is far from the same fragrance. The edp is a sweet bomp that smell like heaven in the morning if you spray at night. The edt is mysterious peppery fresh sexy and rich type of smell from the beginning to the end. I like perfume with strong sense but like the edt more than the edp. The edp is very good smelling but the edt is wow so awesome.

I can remember the first time that I tested angel edt,I didn’t dislike it but thought that I don’t need a bottle.
After couple of months I saw a great deal of 2.7oz tester bottle and bought it just for collecting matters.I didn’t want to waste the perfume so when I saw my husband likes it,gave it to him.after a while I saw that I love what I smell on him and decided to try it again on myself.I never saw this day,but I have to confess that I love it!
It opens fresh, bright, juicy and sharp, with a strong sillage.mostly red berries on me,also some bergamot and pink pepper.the redberry opening brings angel innocent to my mind which I don’t like anymore but fortunately in angel edt, praline shows up right in time.
As mentioned before, this is not a real sweet scent for me.praline is easily detectable but tart redberry from one hand and patouli and cedar from the other hand cut it’s sweetness.I can detect lots of patch here but it’s not dirty.I agree with one of the reviews claiming that patchouli in angel edt reminds dior midnight poison(but their whole scent is totally different)
My favorite part starts after half an hour.As time passes it becomes better and better on my skin.redberry, pink pepper sharpness calms down and I can smell wafts of this amazing woody-nutty-musky scent as I do my works.I agree that this perfume is totally unisex but there’s something pleasantly powdery in it’s drydown which I find very feminine.when I smell my skin closely, there’s some woody bitterness that give it a vivid masculine undertone.but in sillage,I mean the scent that wafts from my skin in air,is simply amazing.clean in it’s own special way, memorable and sexy.can make a versatile, year rounder signature perfume
Longevity is great.sillage is huge in first 40mins or so but then calms down while it still projects well enough.I also like it’s bottle and it’s magnetic cap.
Highly recommended wether you love angel edp or hate it

Got a sample of this in a perfume order i received today, ive always been so curious about the origional edp but have never been bold enough to blind buy and cant ever seem to get around to trying it out.
Even though its been around for years ive found myself recently thinking about Angel a lot lately and the edt sample just happened to come to me today so i was excited to give it a crack.First thought: It reminds me of something, i dunno what but i know ive smelled it before, then it came to me..
Every woman from the ninetees Ever..
Didnt really get too excited about it, but i did like the smell, just not enough to actually buy a whole bottle. Its a smooth patchouli with a fresh piney finish, probably from the wood and pepper. Theres a weird rosemary smell to it as well which i dont think much of but it passes quickly.
I can only imagine how strong the origional must be as this one came on wuite heavuly and clung to me like superglue even after i washed it off.
The humble old patchouli gets such a bad rap but Its a staple in the fragrance industry; it gives a warmth to perfume that deepens a scent, yet it always gets so much hate. This really is patchouli in its most real form though; strong, dry and potent.
Ive always loved oriental sort of incensy perfumes thoughso it didnt really shock me too much. This is masculine yet so feminine at the same time.
I thinkthe statement ive read so many times ” you dont choose angel, angel chooses you” is the truest thing ive heard now ive tried this one, chemistry can make this either a love or loathe, there is no in between, i found it to be quite wearable but as i say; this wouldnt be as overbearing as the edp

The thing I like about Mugler fragrances…is that they are always just too much. They are offensive, they are shocking. I’ve had complicated relationships with all my Muglers where I’ve loved them, hated them, then loved them again. Angel EDT is no exception! In the first blast, and I do mean *blast* because this comes out like a bomb with even the lightest touch…this smells like straight up BO. Sweaty hot guy BO, like a man who’s been out hiking in the woods and comes back smelling like the outdoors and.. well, sweat.
I thought for sure this was a dud and I could stick to my sweet Angels like Sucree and Muse and of course the original. But give this one a bit of time to develop and it mellows and the praline slowly emerges and sweetens this one right up into something fresh, zesty, and very sexy. The patchouli is still quite strong in the background and constantly reminds you of that rugged first spray. This is a gender bender of a fragrance, totally unisex. It smells masculine but has a feminine feel to it…a total dichotomy of a fragrance.
Angel EDT has made a serious impression on me, it’s been awhile that I’ve felt so strongly about a fragrance! Absolutely love it.

Owning the edp I was curious to try this one, and I finally did (about an hour ago) – on my skin it’s very similar to Angel edp, just a little fresher, could be for the pepper and aldehydes. I wouldn’t say it’s much lighter though, if so very little. It’s such a unique scent, both of them, it’s a shame I don’t recognize it as “my own”; you know that feeling when you put a perfume and you can tell it blends perfectly, as if it enriched your skin’s odour? That feeling that it is just “you”! I think those who get that with this one, and the edp, are really lucky!
edit: it’s been 7 hours I’m wearing it now, and the dry down is sooo beautiful, so soft and gentle and creamy, and dreamy, I like it very much! it blends amazingly! Still not my scent, but really a wonderful one!
    16/03/2018 edit:
I tried it twice more and I enjoy it’s uniqueness so much I decided I will make it my own. Sometimes, you don’t wait for things to work, you make them work! soon to be, baby angel

    La Nuit Tresor Pour Homme
To my nose, Angel EDT is Strawberry ChapStick that has been sitting in the bottom of someone’s purse for far too long, mentholated patchouli, and a sharp, astringent peppery freshness (pink pepper) with a hint of Jimmy Choo praline.
    Smells masculine. Not a fan.

I only recently started liking Angel( in small doses) and I have been periodically testing it. I tried this edt version and to me it smells not one bit like Angel. No cotton candy or cocoa mostly floral jasmine and more fresh and even slightly adelhydic. The only similarity is that Mugler undertone. Not saying its bad but unlike Chanel #5 which both the edt and EDP are totally recognizable, this one is not. If you love the candy gourmand patchouli of Angel this is not for you. If you wish Angel was lighter, fresher less sweet/ dirty patchouli then try this.

LOVED the old Angel EDP, but since the reformulation (or maybe it’s just me getting older) could not stand it anymore. I still sometimes go back in head (to 1997) to smell the old Angel, how it captured me and how I deeply loved it. Wore it every day until…2010?
So, that being said, the EDT is the next best thing. Still love, but not as profound as the old Angel. (Thierry, if you’re listening: BRING THE OLD ANGEL BACK. NOW!)
This EDT is soft, deep, round, sweet but not to sweet, slightly masculine and as someone pointed out to me, it smells earthy on me. In a good way. Men love it when I’m wearing it. It gives me a comfortable feeling. It mixes well with my skin (so no layer on top of me, if you catch my drift).
The dry down is a bit ‘church like’, maybe because of the patchouli?
All in all: will repurchase and repurchase, probably ’till this one is reformulated too and then…? Will have to find another signature perfume.

There are people who can love Angel only in this version, and every version of edp is too much. So much.
And my opinion starts with the edt I have a few minis, all Angel edp, different shape of bottle notes, one edt round.
This scent from the category of edible sweetness, definitely chocolates more expensive ones combined with vanilla and some kind of roughness, wildness.
After about 2 hours, the lower the project is for me is a plus. In this quantity and frequency nice, interesting, heavy, sweetened with vanilla, flower, chocolate, caramel and what else did the confectioner put in this jar.

  27. :

This is my go to scent. I get compliments alllll the time. Nice fresh but sweeet unusual captivating scent.

My bottle is the comet one with the magnetic cap. Magnetic caps are great and should be used more often. Snap.
Opens with lots of pink pepper, one of my favorite notes in perfume. Then the red berries and patchouli have a skirmish; Angel EDT becomes dissonant, in a good way. Of course the patchouli wins and for the rest of the ride the drydown reminds me of Angel EDP without being so heavy. This is basically Angel Sheer but with a sour berry note.
Patchouli could be my favorite note of all time. And the patchouli in Angel EDP & Angel EDT is the best because it has a camphoraceous side that some people read as pine. Love those terpenes and terpenoids.
If you crave Angel EDP and want a version you can wear on warmer days, this is it. I don’t recommend it for camping trips or the beach, but you can certainly wear a little of this to work in warm weather (if you work indoors). It tends to get more obviously sweet than the EDP – I can detect the praline here much more clearly than I could find the caramel in the EDP.
Angel EDT is not as addictive as the EDP. It’s excellent, yet it’s not interchangeable with the EDP. You can justify having both. Once again, a great fragrance from Amandine Clerc-Marie.

Unless the summer in your home is quite cool, I don’t see Angel as a summer scent.Angel , even as an EdT, is a quite heavy perfume, and heat (dry or not)tend to exacerbate the heaviness of perfumes. I love Angel but only the few days or weeks where temps go cooler.

  30. :

    3 out of 5

Well, I feel dumb. I’ve been struggling to find my signature daytime summer fragrance for weeks now, as my Angel EDP just doesn’t feel right in this heat. I’ve come home with some new finds, and they are beautiful but really feel too formal for daytime. Then, it occurred to me to try the Angel EDT. It’s perfect for what I need. On me, it’s much fruitier and less heady than the EDP. The Turkish delight has been replaced with a fruit salad! It smells a bit like apricots and Patchouli to me, more like the body cream if you’ve ever tried that. The only downside is that it’s not as long-wearing, but it definitely lasts longer than a lot of the EDPs on the market today, especially for something as bright and fruity as this. Don’t get me wrong, though… it’s still very distinctive and identifiably Angel. It’s not another boring, generic, tutti fruity fragrance. It’s like she’s on a cleansing diet full of fresh produce and strolls through a (patchouli) forest. 😉
Also, I would add that I actually get a LOT of pine when I wear the EDP, but NOT when I wear this. It’s the opposite for me than what some of you are saying, but that’s how it always goes with fragrance!

  31. :

    3 out of 5

I may be in the minority here, but while I like Angel EDT, I don’t love it. I love Angel EDP. The EDT is okay and pleasant enough but it turns incredibly woody on my skin and veers into a masculine scent. I don’t really like gendering fragrances but every time I catch a whiff of this, I can’t help but think it would smell infinitely better on my husband. I’m not saying that’s the case for everyone, either, but my skin is notorious for turning woods into a dominating note.
I do not find this sweet like Eau Sucree (with the red berry note) nor do I find this similar to the original. It reads as woods with an aquatic undertone on my skin.
Again, Angel EDT is not a clumsy or terrible fragrance, I just do not prefer it on my skin. It is very clean, though, and would probably be well-received by someone who finds the original overbearing or too dirty.
I think this could safely be worn just about anywhere. Sillage is moderate, projection is about 6 inches from skin, and longevity is good, lasting about 6 hours on my skin and through several handwashings.

  32. :

I had this one a few years ago and loved it as an 18-20 year old. Its a lot cleaner than the EDP and suits daytime wear perfectly.
However my preferences have changed and this is far to sweet and warm to be pleasant for me anymore. Its the kind of perfume I wish I still liked, because I was so fond of it especially the opportunity to use refills.

Starts off with a huge nod to Angel, but then takes a different path. While some people might love both, I think you can hate one and love the other, dislike one and like the other.
While tenacious ~ excellent lasting power ~ this does not have the oomph of Angel. Read: it’s missing the naughty bits. There is nothing in the base that reads sex or sweaty parts or anything else. In this way, Angel EDT is much more “wearable” for most people. (I prefer Angel in all its raunchy glory.)
This has patchouli, but it’s a very sheer and clean patch, almost masculine.
I never got pine in Angel, but I do get it here.
The vanilla and musk are pronounced, but are still somehow “clean.”
If you like parts of Angel but never could wear it, it’s worth trying out.
I have a bottle up, if anyone is interested.
The bottle itself is to die for ~ super awesome “comet” bottle with a high quality, heavy, magnetized cap that snaps in place perfectly.
Sillage is high for the first short while, but calms down pretty soon.
    Lasting power is excellent.

Nice fresh alternative to Angel EDP. However it’s pretty eh. Sweet patch and some vanilla. The end is hideous however. The cedar wood is so strong and dirt like it’s enough to pull a face at when you smell.

  36. :

    3 out of 5

Oy… I like this, I really do. BUT, the longevity is pretty short considering how much it costs and I have to spray about 3-5 sprays to get a good scent going or else it is close to skin. Def get the patch but it’s soft… will update more later as I just bought this yesterday 😉
P.S. Looooving the middle of this scent! Yummm ^_^
The dry down is yummy… I like the original Angel but find it little too strong and pricey. Thought this would be a good alternative and it is but this doesn’t smell a lot like the OG. It’s a great scent if you get your nose right to the exact places you sprayed it but otherwise it’s not much a trail leaver and for the price, that bums me out…so I will hang on to this a few more days to see if I still wanna keep it :/
With a broken heart, I returned this… I really do like it but for the cost, I could not justify keeping it when the longevity was so short on me 🙁

This is possibly one of the best flankers/reformulations I have ever come across. I appreciate that Mugler deliberately released this as a different fragrance in a different bottle, when other companies probably would have just reformulated and modernized the original fragrance, and we all know how frustrating that can be.
The patchouli is by far the best note in this fragrance — it is fresh, green, and smells very luxurious and expensive. It is also grounded and amplified by the cedar in the base. The gourmand notes of the original have been streamlined and brightened, and when the red berry notes are added in the effect is over-the-top juicy, sweet, and lush.
This fragrance is extremely well-composed and has structure and presence in the top, middle, and base. It has distinct phases of development but it never stops smelling like itself, and it has the huge sillage and longevity of the original Angel. As much as I love the original, Angel EDT is an interpretation that is more modern and wearable, but still retains the spirit of the original. It’s a fantastic creation.

since I always hated angel edp,I was never willing to test it’s flankers and it’s edt
but now that I own and like angel’s garden party flankers(specially angel rose)and sunessence flanker,I thought this is the right time to retry angel edt and edp
angel edp is still than brownish bitter monster in the opening, but it soon settles down to a bitter-sweet cacao patchouli combo which I still find masculine but don’t hate anymore
angel edt is a completely different story, yes it has that obvious angel gene that everyone can say it’s a member of angel family with closed eyes, but it’s much more wearable and lighter and easy going,it’s not as bitter of angel edp and less patchouli dominant, red berries are the most dominant note on me and linger till the end ,also there is a hint of pepper in a base of delicate patch and some nutty praline, this is not a gourmand scent for me because it’s not really sweet for my taste just a juicy berryish fruitchouli with a hint of angel gene,it’s really nice but I thing I’d rather go for innocent which has a similar vibe but is sweeter and more feminine
among angel edp and edt I surprisingly prefer edp,non of them are my style but at least edp is more gourmandish and stronger in sillage and personality
angel edt is not neseserly a winter scent,it’s good for mild to chily temp, year round
longevity is amazing but sillage is a bit more than moderate
if you hate angel edp, still give this one a try specially if you’re into fruitchoulies
    ❤️❤️❤️

It’s a little bit masculine for me. I prefer Angel Aqua Chic 2013 version over this, because it is a more feminine.

I am an Angel edp fan for 13 years, and never got interested in the edt. Until I got a sample a few weeks ago…
First, I found it was nice and light, it reminded me of Angel edp and after the drydown it developed a hint of Dior Midnight Poison (which I love but is discontinued). In the end it wasn’t exactly Angel for me, but just a very nice flanker. The honey is still there, the praline is soft and nutty and I can detect it for the first time. In the edp it was overwhelmed by the honey. The patchouli is delicate but very present, which I love.
Now I am obsessed with it! After I used up the sample I wanted more. I started to hunt reviews, spent hours on this site. But due to a limited budget I decided not to purchase and use up my 2 bottles of Angel edp.
Suddenly….. my mom was traveling and saw it at a duty free and she brought it for me. I couldn’t be happier! I want to drown myself in it…
I am over the moon for this lighter, airy version of my beloved Angel.

Angel edt is wonderful. Ethereal, heavenly, delicate but powerful. Spicy sweet, not too edible, not too cloying. This is what, deep down, I wanted Angel edp to be like. More heaven, less toothache.

  42. :

    5 out of 5

While EDP is more winter type of fragrance, EDT is perfect for spring and summer. It is fresh, green and energizing- somewhere between edp and Innocent (that have hardly anything in common).
Opening is fresh citrus and red berries with a gentle green patchouli and cedar that give pine-tree-forest vibe. Like sitting in the forest and drinking cold watered berry juice with lemon.
On my boyfriend’s skin, however, patchouli is stronger, deeper, more earthy and dusty, and the fragrance all together more masculine with less fruit and sweetness.
Edt Angel is perfectly unisex, but it doesn’t smell masculine on a female skin nor other way around.
Best summer patchouli scent I found so far.

A refreshing take on the original…
I love this version of Angel. Not only is it in a lighter concentration, it also has a different notes mix. What I get from this is still the patchouli and sweet caramel/vanilla/chocoalte, but also a new note: berries. The berries, citrus and cedarwood lend it a very refreshing aroma, which I love.
I see no problem wearing this in spring and summer. I think it’s a wonderful fragrance which would work in many situations. I can also see this as appealing to a more modern audience than the original, as it is not as heavy and overpowering, not so much “in-your-face”.
It’s one I enjoy wearing too (a unisex gourmand). I would recommend it for people who found the original too strong and cloying, but who still like their fragrances sweet. This is a great composition all round… I like it!

Just as great as the EDP only lighter and more wearable also good longevity for an EDT the vetiver note adds a unisex feel to it reminds me of Angel Muse

A sharp, powerful patchouli punch in the face! Red berries and pepper further spice things up. Falling in love with this is not like falling in love with a lover who sends you flowers and chocolates, takes you out to lovely dinners and whispers sweet nothings in your ear.
On the contrary…this is like the bad boy in the leather jacket who you break up with only to make up later, because you can’t resist the way they make you feel, both good and bad at the same time…this fragrance is just like that: deliciously good and bad at the same time. You can’t have a sweet, easy relationship with this one…but somehow you also can’t stay away…and when you see others with it, you get so jealous…I LOVE Angel edt!

Where do I begin… I’ve already written 2 reviews about Angel (EdP), so you can easily find out about my very negative experience with this perfume (I was about 22-28 years old then). But recently I realized something interesting was going on – I have a small Angel sample and now and then I spray some perfume on my wrist, very, very tiny amount, but still (me- the big hater of Angel! ME!). And then I understood- I have to get one of the milder versions of Angel (the EdP is still too strong for me), and my choice is Angel EdT. Now I hold it in my hand, have it on my wrist and I “fly away”. On me it opens with the same strange cacophony as Angel EdP, but in an instant it’s gone leaving something magic on my skin. First it’s some kind of fresh made, strong, sweet, herbal tea with a hint of something a bit sour and juicy. Like ripe wild berries with their stems and leaves put into some boiling water in the middle of a dark forest. Like the song “Sweet Lullaby” by Deep Forest unusual, a bit scaring, but tempting. Then it gets “fluffy” and some gourmand sweetness comes in (the sourness disappears), it feels like a caramel for adults (with some alcohol notes). The base is nutty, woody, rather warm on me. Something I would adore on a rainy, cold day to protect me (a “fluffy”, warming umbrella, if that exists).
I guess Angel perfume line is one of those lines who reveal the personal development of every perfume lover. You have to be quite experienced, you have to be rather mature and wise to appreciate those complex perfumes. The people who like fresh, sweet, “safe” perfumes (like me back then) maybe won’t perceive this non standard beauty (and it’s not their fault!). I’m glad I’m starting to discover it.

The EDP is like a punch, though an oddly enjoyable one, and this one is more of a feather. They’re both great in their own right, but this one is more multi-faceted than the EDP.

This is intoxicating. I recently went on a bit of a perfume shopping spree for my birthday, and I decided to finally add this one to my collection, as Angel has been my signature for years, and I’ve owned most of the flankers at some point. Well, this one is going to remain in my collection permanently. Somehow, the mad scientists at Mugler took Angel’s DNA and made her sparkle and shimmer, perfectly suitable for hot weather and sun-bronzed skin. This is sooooo much better than the Aqua Chic releases from a few years ago. I think next I’ll grab the 2015 Eau Sucree!

There is the essence of Angel in this one but it is considerably redder and the volume of the bottom notes has been turned way down. Overall quite different from the EdP, but if you cannot stand the original, feel free to try this.

this one is very masculine but i like it. also it suits the tropical weather of Mauritius. i have a 5ml sample which i love to sniff.i’m not sure i will ever buy a full bottle of this but i do admire the effort put into the creation of this perfume.

I’m usually a huge fan of Angel edp, but my pregnancy nose loathes it. For some reason it loves this one. Before it’s just been a “meh.. the original is better”. But I think now that
