Description

Givenchy launched Ange Ou Demon Le Secret in 2009, as a new, airy interpretation of the intense and oriental Ange Ou Demon from 2006. In 2011, Ange Ou Demon Le Secret Elixir version was introduced, followed by Ange Ou Demon Le Secret Eau de Toilette in 2013.

The new fragrance is a floral-fruity-chypre opening with sweet aromas of candied apples. The delicate and elegant heart reveals flowers of roses and jasmine tea, resting on a sensual chypre base of patchouli and musk.

It is available in bottles of 30, 50 and 100 ml EDT.

This has a very fresh citrus flavour like when you stick your thumbs into an orange peel. This makes it very summery and more for the daytime. Is very nice but not immensely long lasting.

I clearly smell sour apples and jasmine. I also detect a sharp citrucy note, I’m not sure what it is but probable it goes from apples. It’s very delicate scent and I really like it. I imagine it would be perfect for a rainy summer day.

The first Ange ou Démon was launched in 2006 and since then has generated more than 10 variations within the same pillar, including commemorative editions. In August 2009, a flanker was released under the name Ange ou Démon Le Secret. It was a citrus and floral Eau de Parfum, with some gourmands touches and brought the model and actress Uma Thurman as the face of the campaign (it was relaunched in 2014 with a new composition). In 2013, it was the turn of a new variation, not of the original fragrance, but the latter: Ange ou Démon Le Secret Eau de Toilette. This whole story serves to explain why this fragrance bears no resemblance to the original version. It is one of those cases of “variation of the variation”, when one takes a ride on a bottle and / or visual identity already consolidated in the market.
Ange ou Démon Le Secret Eau de Toilette has notes of love-apple and sugar cubes, followed by a heart of rose tea and jasmine, on a base with musk and patchouli. But do not be scared! It may sound sweet, but it is not.
When reaches the skin, the perfume is fruity and sweet, without being cloying. It is clear the daytime appeal of the fragrance and its versatility for daily use. The floral heart is luminous and delicate, very good for women who like floral fragrances without powdery smell. As evolution progresses towards the base, Ange ou Démon Le Secret Eau de Toilette shows a limpid and almost unisex facet, which will please men who venture in the universe of fragrances made for women.
The bottle maintains the visual pattern, reflecting the drops of crystal chandeliers from the mansions and ancient palaces, bringing a yellow liquid.
To close, it is worth saying that the projection is not the best, but the lasting power is high, although it becomes subtle with the passage of time. It is a great fragrance for work environments and summer or spring days. It transmits joy and well-being and carries the Givenchy quality seal. However, for the price charged, there are very similar options (within this proposal) with a better cost-benefit ratio, such as Natura Humor da Minha Vida (in Brazil).

This is a cologne strength fruity tea chypre with gourmande leanings. I just bought this on a whim as it was going for a great price, it’s pretty and not like anything I already have. Fresh green apple but this is crisp, more a light apple and jasmine tea than a syrupy apple juice fragrance (a la Be Delicious which personally I cannot wear but appreciate a lot on other people). Sugary but very lightly so and I agree, nothing like the original. I could (and will) easily wear this to work.

I have to agree with several reviews here, that this has absolutely no staying power on me, at all. The initial pump is uplifting, slightly sweet, a very likeable opening burst but it dries up in literally seconds and ‘poof’, it disappears as fast as it came. I have never tried the original Ange ou Demon, so can’t speak on that but I can’t seem the make the connection to its name Angel or Demon. Is it nice? Yes it is, while it lasts. Is it naughty? Definitely not. It didnt even get a chance to morphe into a dual personality lol. The initial notes are not even something I’d associate with Angels or Cherubs. This is an EDT so I’m not expecting great lasting power but this isn’t even temporary at the least, not on my skin. I even sprayed until the cows came home and still the same effect. Its a shame as it does smell like it could be something really wearable. It lingers longer in the air than on my skin so it would make a great air freshner.

This one is more “ange” than “demon”, but with hidden dark side. I sense the apple, mixed with tea, and this is very sweet cup of tea, if I may add. But the overall feeling is not sticky sweet, thanks to the patchouli that adds very tangy, spicy edge to the composition. This one, although summery and fresh, has that vibe of sensual sophistication that I’ve been searching for a very long time.
I never thought that apple may be sophisticated, but this fragrance somehow made it.
At first I thought that longevity is poor, but it significantly improves if sprayed generously (6-8 sprays, even more).
Ange ou demon le secret edt is in my top 5 for the summer and I don’t think I will ever get tired of it.

Very light, ‘barely there’ kind of fragrance. An apple with a bit of sweetness. It’s a pleasant, fresh skin scent. Nothing more, nothing less.
I don’t get why they named it Ange ou demon. It has nothing to do with the first Ange ou demon. No similarity at all.

Now, I’m really unsure and confused with this one. Despite the reviews mentioning longetivity issues and poor silage, I loved the notes so I blind bought this EDT, especially confident as I did like the original anyway. So it arrived, I tried it today and after 14 hours wear these are my thoughts.
After the first few sprays I was grnning happily, thinking this smelt like holiday in a bottle. I loved it! Sweet and fresh and simple, pure joy. So I sprayed good few times and sat down to read something. After a few minutes I sniffed my wrist and…nothing. I couldn’t smell anything. I moved around and coming from my clothes the pleasant smell was caught by my nostrils. My wrist again, and again, nothing. Very odd.
As the hours passed I kept trying to catch the scent again but there was nothing coming off my clothes, and only when I literally stuck my nose to my wrist and moved it back and forth could I smell the remains of what was this EDT. About an hour after spraying AOD EDT I aked my other half if he liked the smell but he said he couldn’t really smell anything on me.
So do I like the smell? It’s lovely. Do I like this EDT? No, and I regret spending money on it because both longetivity and silage are non existant.I thought it might have been my skin but it doesn’t even last on the clothes. Very very disappointed.

I like this very much, but it is definitely short lived. No lasting power… Smells great while it lasts though. Happy smelling! 🙂

I didn’t want to even give this one a try because I really didn’t like the original ange ou demon(black&white one)..but as a flanker this one dosen’t have anything to do with it..thanks god!!
I loved this fresh delightful scent from the first spray till the end,for me it’s just love…love and LOVE
It opens clean with a sweet apple taste and as someone mentioned before is followed by a sugared jasmine tea flavour(i drink a cup of jasmine tea every afternoon so I’m completly addicted to it’s comforting gorgeous smell)and there is patchouli but not too noticable beside green tea note..I can’t detect much musk and rose and I love both of them but no regrets for their faded role here..the scent is so lovely as it is and I don’t want to wish any changes happen here
Diffrent from generic summer scents mostly citrus prominent or florals that lack freshness…I just love this sweet fruity floral ice tea so much as a spring/summer daily fragrance that I try not to think about it’s soft sillage.it’s a shame no one can notice this lovely scent before getting too close.longevity is some how more than moderate on my skin.
I am going to give the EDP one a try too and I am crossing my fingers to find it similar but with more powerful projection

Jasmine ice tea:).tender bitterness, sun at glass of cold water.i feel some floral but don’t recognise roses.like it very much for spring or warm autumn.
    Sparkling :).good.very balanced.
Like it more than any other flankers.

Very similar to Rio Glow by J. Lo

Sweeter than the EDP and a bit fresher, still mainly a tea scent. But very sweet tea. The patchouli makes it balmy and helps with the sillage. It is a good spring or summer scent for daytime use. A good floral tea scent but if you have the original you probably don’t need both.

I will start by saying that I bought this perfume by mistake. I wanted to buy the EDP but I bought this one instead. Once I realised my mistake, I found this one to be better suited to the Mauritian climate. This is zingier. The patchouli gives it an edge which the EDP lacks. However I find both to be very classy and lovely scents. I will also add that these two seem to lack longevity on my skin.I have to spray many times for these to last on me. On a positive note, this scent has brought me compliments so I am very happy with it and will surely repurchase.

Lovely fruity scent for the summer!
It has absolutely nothing to do with the original Ange ou Demon, this is a totally different fragrance and I honestly don’t understand why did they have to market this as a flanker. It is just incorrect.
Anyway, the fragrance is perfect for everyday wear during the warmer months; easy, fresh and playful. Everything you need to start your day in a bright, uplifted mood.

At first I thought, why would Ange ou Demon Le Secret need an EDT version? Isn’t it light enough already?
This is what I thought some time ago. Lately I have used my Ange ou Demon Le Secret EDP version less than I used to and I noticed that it is actually quite strong and after spraying there’s a big cloud around me. So it even sounds weird, but the original EDP could be offensive sometimes.
I can see why there is a lighter EDT version now, and maybe someday I’ll buy it instead of the original EDP.
The scent is so similar to the original that I almost can’t tell the difference. An amazing tea scent with some light jasmine. I can’t sense apple very well, but there’s some fruityness.
Anyway, it’s absolutely beautiful fragrance. And I’m quite sure men will love it on women. Speaking from my own experience. 🙂

My refreshing carbonated favorite. Among all Le Secret the most-most.
Bright, sweet and sour start, like a breath of icy Apple-citrus soda with a strong thirst – even almost physically feel the invisible tickling funny bubbles.
After you receive the taste of tea, and makes the song a bit tart, makes this soda iced Nestea. Fragrance Daisy and persistent: long shimmers, “hisses” and having fun. To the tea slowly flows to the patchouli, the scent becomes a little calmer.
Clothes smell before washing. By evening the skin easy to guess a pleasant hint .

A lovely fresh fruity floral scent. It’s very light and soft which makes it perfect for summer. At the start I smelled sweet apple, but it wasn’t cloying and very pleasant. After a while, I started to smell a very clean, refreshing note. It was probably the tea and jasmine combo, and I could also smell a bit of patchouli.
I think it’s a go-to summer fragrance if you like fresh but sweet fruity scents. I think it’s for all ages, and it would be wonderful as a casual day scent. I really liked the longevity and sillage; the fragrance lasted for a long time but wasn’t overpowering. I also think the bottle is very pretty.

This is lovely. A fresh & natural apple , the sweetest is not sticky or overwelming . This jasmine and green tea combo is gorgeous, the dry down keeps the apple fruitiness within a smooth blend ! A wonderful summer fragrance . The sillage is significant and longevity is average so, it is a ” reapply ” fragrance , prefect for those stuffy hot day , when one desire & love those ” refreshing sprits ” . ! Also, this is not a green, nor citric, nor sharp , often found within summery scents / fragrances which I already have or experienced !

If you’re in the mood for a light, non-gourmand fruity scent, then this is for you. I tried it today and liked it more than I expected. Would definitely pick this for a date on a hot summer day. The tea and the jasmine add real value to this wonderful EDT.
I don’t mind the poor silage, but I’m not sure I would wear it without having someone to sink their nose into my skin.

  22. :

Nothing special as far as sweet scents go.. just okay — stays the same moderately sweet scent for around 4 hours then goes into drydown. I think it’s a patch/musk combination which turns a bit sour on my skin. Tolerable, but then, why should I settle? I like it but not enough to buy it. I prefer the 2009 Le Secret and the Elixir (purple bottle) which are on my want list.

This is a soft, feminine and romantic scent suitable for any age, occasion or season. Apple is not very prominent to my nose, however there is a pleasant fruity freshness to it. It’s like a relaxing cup of sugared jasmine tea on a sunny afternoon. Simply divine.

Beautiful perfume. It opens with a burst of green, citrus aromas, then dries down to a sweet, fruity-floral scent. I can definitely sense the jasmine as well. Overall, it’s absolutely gorgeous, it’s light, uplifting and fresh but it also has a sensual side.

The new edt has little common with the regular Le Secret edp in the opening. Eau de Toilette is a tender apple scent with some floral background, but, above all, this one is an apple garden! The fragrance is done in the same vein as See by Chloe being less chemical. Nice try, though I like edp much more.

Ange Ou Demon Le Secret EDT is a light, bright scent. Yellow colored liquid describes it’s nature very well. It’s an uplifting, joyfull version of the original Ange ou Demon EDT. The opening is a burst of sweetness. I surely could notice delicious notes of sugar-like candied apples, but the apple is not so obvious. I’d say sweets and fruits – that’s the beginning for me.
After a few minutes jasmine tea shows up and I’m all in love.
Thankfully, the scent is not too sweet, and I find it quite refreshing. The dry-down is almost like a watered down version of EDP, but there’s this note of jasmine tea and some kind of sweetness, that makes it more pleasant.
I really like it. I love EDP, but to me it’s too strong, so I instantly fell in love with this one.
EDT is more lovable to me, as it’s sweet and crispy, feminine and captivating at the same time, without being overwhelming.
Definitely going to purchase my own bottle – which looks great, by the way!

Beautiful!! I tried it yesterday from a sample. I really liked it! I love the mix of apple and jasmine. I think the jasmine cuts a bit of the “fruitness” of the apple, and the tea adds a creamy feeling. I would love to wear this on a spring day. It’s really feminine.
Right now, we have winter in my country, but I think when spring comes I might get this one.

Ange ou Demon Le Secret EDT opens with a delightful explosion of fresh apples. At first I thought this would be a wonderful fragrance for hot summer nights. But the top notes are soon replaced by the usual tea leaves and jasmine and I think the drydown is very similar to the original version. This is a really nice fragrance but I am not sure it’s worth having if you already own Le Secret EDP.
