Description

The dualistic nature of Ange ou Demon (“Angel or Devil”) reveals new feelings, allures with its mystery and versatility, scandalizes and seduces. The strong charismatic oriental composition is innocently crystal and sensual at the same time.
Sweet freshness of the top notes of mandarin, white cumin and saffron opens the way to the opulent floral heart: the strong lily note in alliance with casual notes of Maxillaria orchid and exotic ylang-ylang. The trace is dominated by two woodsy notes: creamy rosewood and dense oak moss absolute, while the powdery and sensual Tonka and vanilla end the composition.

The fragrance was created by Jean-Pierre Bethouart and Olivier Cresp in 2006. (Please note: in come countries, this fragrance is marketed under the name “Ange ou Etrange” [“Angel or Curious Case”]).

Second only to Chanel 5 edp, this is my go to Scent.on me it is all Demon. Like an angler fish at a distance there is a sweet little soft glow, a little citrus, mostly lilly, but up close the woods and vanillia jump up for a big sultry smokey bite. My guy loves this on- especially when all the top n mid notes have burned off at the end of the day and there’s just the throb of base notes

In the dry down it’s like you went through a windstorm down from a motorcycle. you can smell the cold leather jacket too. drydown is the best in this, and it lasts for days.

A pretty vanilla floral. As someone else said there is no demon about this fragrance, just a cute and soft perfume. I don’t know if they reformulated it or what but my bottle has virtually no sillage. I think if you apply four of five sprays it can be better. This one was a disappointment. Please, don’t blind buy this. I’ve learned my lesson.

I was searching for a winter frangrance with no plum and no incense and came across this when actually looking to see if a female frangrance with thyme exists. Black licorice? I dont love to eat it but it smells nice enough. So far so good, i kinda wish it had stronger tonka and vanilla and not as strong licorice but at times i get what another commenter said, its like root beer float. Sometimes i get whiffs of white floral and it smells heavenly. I enjoy it but i think ill spray less next time as it is stronger than i wanted.
Edit, day 2 and i sprayed less and its beautiful. So warm and beautiful. First lily fragrance ive had. Waves of licorice and vanilla then cooling lily then warmth again. If i want to add some oomph i dab a little good girl ch, it pulls as mostly tonka on me. If i want to add some sugar add a dab of armani code. Its austere and when i woke up the next morning i could still smell oakmoss and rosewood. I will probably sweeten it with a vanilla spray for my own preference but it doesnt really need it.

Perhaps there’s something wrong with my scent receptors, but where is the “demon” in this fragrance??! I was so intrigued by all the positive reviews here and elsewhere(and yes, I’ll admit, the name too) that I blind bought Ange ou Demon. I don’t typically blind buy, but it was screaming “Buy me!” and I gave in. To me, this fragrance is all “ange” and no “demon.” I was expecting a beautiful light and dark contrast, perhaps something fresh & feminine, but also something dark & mysterious as well. Unfortunately, all I got was a face full of white florals. Let me be more specific.. white florals next to a pool in the summer. Yep, that’s what I got, flowers and sunscreen. The fragrance isn’t bad per se, it’s very, very feminine and personally, holds a bit of nostalgia of summertime pool fun with my aunt as a kid. However, I find it seriously lacking in the demon department. Perhaps if I layer it with something deeper to give it that demon edge, it’ll be more near to it’s name. Grrr.

This perfume is a monster! I took it for my birthday and I waited for it to make a good splash. A few hours ago they delivered it to me, I tore the packaging and sprayed a lot. The smell was so intense and suffocating that at first I thought they had given me a fake perfume. But … it had to be an hour and it was exactly the stunning scent I had fallen in love with in perfumery.
Incredibly feminine, glamorous, captivating aroma. He creates an aura of demonic angel around me. I like it, I love it, it fits me. This is my perfume!
I will not describe the notes. They are well described by other users. The beginning is lily (which I do not like). And when faded comes saffron, thyme in combination with ylang-ylang. Excellent!
This perfume must be present in the collection of every lady who feels the dual feminine nature. Wonderful idea and performance by Givenchy!

Reminded me a bit of White Diamonds EDP upon wearing, but sweeter, less fruity, with an interesting, unexpected note of licorice. I would classify this as a chypre for its dry character, but, with some of the sweeter elements of an oriental being prominent, it truly does straddle the line between the two categories. Not as complex or heavy as WD, but very nice, versatile, and easily could be someone’s signature..

I’ve posted this on Jeanne Arthes Love Generation Rock review page, but thought I may save some people money if posted on this page as well. Here you go!
Testing Love Generation Rock (from my bottle) spritzed on the back of my left hand against Ange ou Demon (from an official sachet sample) on the back of my right.
I am not going to describe either perfume in any depth – my input isn’t necessary, as others have done so far better than I could.
LGR and AoD are frequently compared; this is unsurprising given the number of notes they have in common: mandarin orange, saffron, thyme, ylang ylang, orchid, lily, vanilla and tonka. They only differ in their bases, where LGR has oak, AoD has oakmoss.
On first spraying, LGR is more citrus and not as sweet as AoD – to be honest, LGR smells cheaper and rougher – but they are heading in the same direction, running in parallel lines; as they dry down, they converge. Sillage of AoD is slightly more than that of LGR and it also has – for want of a better word – more “depth”; it’s “stronger”. Having said that, I had a sachet of Ange ou Demon, and therefore the concentration on the back of my hand is more concentrated, compared to Love Generation Rock, which I sprayed – so the perfume was diffused over a greater area.
    Cheapest price:
Find 60ml of Love Generation Rock on Amazon UK for £7.29 (free P&P with Prime) and 30ml of Ange ou Demon for £28.00 (free P&P) on eBay UK. I haven’t purchased from the business seller who has listed AoD at this price, so can’t comment on whether the perfume sold is genuine or not (although their feedback suggests it probably is).
To summarise: LGR and AoD are virtually identical, so purchasing LGR is a no-brainer.

Oh my… I’m such a fraghead wanting to try everything that I forget how much I love this one. To me, there is nothing fruity in this at all. It is a spicy, heady floral with vanilla. It is so dark, mysterious, and alluring. I need to wear this more often! Another thing I love about it is its uniqueness. I have never smelled anything like this. I also like how this is not a fragrance you will find very many other people wearing. I like to smell unique!
I don’t really feel I can adequately describe this but it is one of my absolute favorites and has a permanent place on my Top shelf. <3
By the way, sillage and longevity are also awesome for this! Spray with caution. 🙂

I can’t wait to try this one. One issue I have had lately is that Givenchy scents I already own (Very Irresistible, Amarige, Play for her) do not seem to last on my skin. Has anyone else had this problem with Givenchy? Does Ange ou Demon have staying power?
Dear Mariajosecosta: Your English is excellent!

Saffron, ylang, lily and vanilla ..what a hypnotic, narcotic combination! Creamy rootbeer vibe forever, this ties with Hypnotic Poison as one of my favorite scents of all time. There is something so exotic, dare I say, erotic about Ange ou Demon. This scent really is the devil with an angel’s face. I used to own the Jeanne Arthes knockoff Love Generation Rock, it’s a good dupe don’t get me wrong but I prefer the slightly more cold/austere vibe I get from this. LGR has a more creamy/warm vibe and better silage/longevity.

  14. :

Ange ou Demon is a soft fruity-vanilla. The opening is dominated by the mandarin note that is sweet, but not overly so. I don’t get many floral notes, just a hint of ylang-ylang. The somehow aquatic/transparent vanilla and tonka come through as soon as the fragrance settles into my skin and stay for the next 3-4 hours. After that, I can’t smell the perfume on myself anymore. Longevity and sillage are moderate at best in my opinion.
It is a pretty and well done fragrance, but I don’t reach for it often enough since it doesn’t stand out to me. I won’t repurchase once I finish the bottle as it is neither longlasting nor memorable.

The dry down is super fresh, almost ozonic and its so weird compared to what you smell in the beginning which is super sweet and cloying. The church smells is also amazing, reminds you of Victorian dolls without the creepiness while staying modern and sexy. This is how it is with geniuses, they are not crowd pleasers, you gotta catch them frequency.

An intriguing scent, I thought it had liquorice in it before I knew the notes. It has a dry woodiness, along side a sharp floral spike. It also has a sheer fresh powdery, talcy smell, plus a spiciness. It’s very distinctive, and recognisable, it doesn’t smell like anything else. I will see how it develops. Very interesting.

I own the ‘le secret 2014’ version of this and they are sooo different! The opening of this one is amazing, I felt something citrusy & juicy (thought of lemon or neroli) and after 20 min something sweet came up that I really disliked! Then after an hour the scent developed into a creamy vanilla well blended with some delicate flower and woodsy notes. What I like about this scent is that it doesn’t fit anywhere, here it says oriental flower and I’d say it is, but is also more, and else. Very original, but I think you need to “click” with it (and I think I don’t).

Gorgeous, gorgeous spicy creamy sweet vanilla. Sexy, rich, mysterious ylang- ylang and lily. Beautiful bottle, amazing sillage, great longevity. Alluring, magnetic, fantastic. I am in love.

This for me was love at first sniff! I am definitely a floral Oriental girl and I was trying to get out of this box and try something new. The sales assistant asked me to try this, saying it was in my family choice but it had something a little different that would make a change to the others I already had. She was right. I’m not sure if it’s a fruity or a soft floral that’s not in my other fragrances but this definitely has layers. It’s not straight forward. It’s not pedestrian either. It has something sultry but girly and not something I would give an age to, more like an attitude. I am a 50 year old Scorpio woman and this screamed to take me home.

I have had this perfume a while and when I first wore it I didn’t like it but it was spring / summer time . I have since started wearing it this winter which has been really cold and was pleasantly surprised by the warmth and I have to agree with another reviewer the smell of a antiseptic cream and Vick vapour rub but I liked it so much so I used it all 😉 Would I buy again , maybe 🙂

This lasts a very long time on cloth. About a week. I didn t test it on my skin but within a week i was smelling my scarf all day. It was wonderful. This is in my wish list for winter. I will buy this gem, and one think that makes me love it more, is that its unknown for most of the people :))) I will not smell like every body

At first it’s pretty strong and leaning towards manly. The orange and thyme notes are quite noticable. After a few hours the perfume becomes soft, almost powdery and feminine. Vanilla and tonka bean are more noticable by then. There’s a nice, woody and floral base for it all to sit on. I find it very well composed!

Very heavy and powdery like a sweet concentrated liquid version of Johnson&Johnsons baby powder.

It took me some time to finally review Ange ou Demon. It’s a very sensual, mysterious perfume and not easy to describe.
The opening is quite spicy with a strong saffron note and thyme. While the herbal thyme stays close to my skin, saffron, lily and vanilla blend together to and project a very warm, creamy aura around me. After a few times of testing I could also detect the mandarin, which is not really fruity here, but cuts through the cloud of creamyness with its freshness.
In the drydown vanilla takes the main stage, supported by the bright floral notes of ylang ylang and lily. There is still something spicy, almost salty.
The final skinscent after many hours of wearing is a bit flat compared to the rest of the perfume, it’s just creamy, light vanilla without much projection. This is my only point of criticism, and I can live with it.
To me, the duality of the fragrance shows itself in the contrast of the clear brightness of the vanilla and florals and the earthy darkness of the spicy notes. It is a bit clean and a bit dirty at the same time, it feels very dense and balmy, warm and still fresh, not overly sweet. It’s hard to pinpoint what exactly makes this scent so alluring and sexy, but it’s best when it wafts from your body and not when you put your nose to your skin.

  28. :

    4 out of 5

This is an interesting fragrance. It really has a duality in it. The demon is warm and very spicy and the angel is a pure white flower with a touch of vanilla. For me, it is a bit too mature and spicy. I wished it were sweeter. Anyway, it is well crafted and surely a must try for spice fans or really anyone tired of mainstream perfumery. It could easily be someone’s signature, just don’t blind buy it.
I imagine a secure but discreet woman wearing it. Someone with a strong personality, but that is not overbearing. A smart introvert with a good sense of humour.
Sillage is close to the skin, if anyone wants to know.

I really wanted to like this. The notes sounded right up my street and I can usually safely blind buy dark vanilla-and-spice fragrances.
But sadly, no. This smells medicinal to me. Like TCP and Savlon mixed with vanilla essence. Unwearable, unfortunately. I scrubbed it off immediately.

This perfume for me was the best creation of the Givanchy house, it is seductive and elegant, it really has something light and dark, it for me translates very well the name that has Angel or devil, good and evil, pure seduction or sexy seduction. I love your nuances and everything that makes you feel, I feel more beautiful and powerful with it.

This was another blind buy for me, as I went to multiple department stores and nobody seemed to know what I was talking about and would keep pointing me to Ange Ou Demon Le Secret which I already have. Which is a scent I really love, but it just does not last, and reading all the praises regarding this perfume, and the notes, I had to get this somehow.
When I finally received it and took it out of the bottle, for a moment I was immediately regretful because the smell of the box was just funky and I feared this was what the fragrance smelled like. Thank goodness that wasn’t the case.
However it did take some time for me to come around to it. I liked the scent from the bottle, but sprayed on me the black licorice was almost overwhelming. So I stayed away until I gave it another try one night, and this time I could pull out the powdery, creamy vanilla and floral, and appreciate this truly beautiful and unique nighttime scent that is warm and bold.
And the bottle is a beauty in itself, combined with that name.

I bought this about 10 years ago because I loved the sweetness this had to offer but I used it for a little while and put it away. I am smelling it once again today and wow it is so sexy and delicious. It’s such a complex fragrance and perfectly executed for what Givenchy was going for. When it’s good (the Ange part) it’s very good but when it’s bad (the demon part) it’s even better. Beautiful for night time but in the fall and winter I can wear this all day and night and it lasts for hours.

  33. :

Such a unique perfume! I love it. Smells like a warm spicy vanilla pudding on my skin. Its delicious, sexy and not too over powering. On my skin this is very much portrays the angel side with an edge.
I mainly get a blend of vanilla with a sweet cardamon (even though its not listed here). If you want something along the same vibe for cheaper try Guess By Marciano (although this is much better blended in my opinion).

  34. :

    3 out of 5

Hands down my favorite nighttime perfume. The duality is incredibly well expressed and appealing to someone like me, who constantly flirts with the idea of wearing strong, overpowering men’s scents (one of my fav perfumes is Guerlain’s ‘L’Habit Rouge’), but also has a girly / lady-like side.
    A must have for me

  35. :

    5 out of 5

Ange ou demon? No. A fallen angel.
On my skin the demonic side of this scent prevails – dark, rich vanilla mixed with exotic spices. There are also intoxitating flowers, coming from imaginary garden. I can’t recognize them, they just melt with the other ingredients of this potion. Because a potion it is.
I wear this perfume tonight, in one of the last warm nights of the fading summer, the wind blows and the scent flows around me, makes me feel like an oriental princess under cover. The scent keeps its secrets and so do I.
In the upcoming cold days i will wear it more often – in the crispy air of the fall sweeter side of the fume will be more noticeable, vanilla will make it cosier, the spices will be somehow tamed. The scent will show its angelic face. But the devil will be still there, waiting for his time, waiting for the angel to fall.
Trully masterpiece, but needs stong personality to be worn properly.

  36. :

    4 out of 5

Wow! The concept of this perfume is extremely well executed. Is it a light, frothy, sweet scent? Or a dark, earthy, sexy fume? It’s both. It’s angelic and demonic.
It has a forefront note that smells of cream soda/rootbeer, which is unique and an absolute delight. The vanilla is creamy and soft while the tonka and lily are deep and give the fragrance a weight and darkness.
It’s also a very powerful scent that lingers all day long.
A+ for concept, execution and quality!
On my want list it goes 🙂

Spicy floral, reminds me of kenzo l’elephant because of the vanilla and spices in its dry down. Great perfume long lasting with good sillage

Its name says everything: Angel or Demon. It was created under the concept of mystery, hidden between light and darkness. Its bottle reproduces the crystal drops of the chandeliers that illuminate mansions and palaces. It was made in partnership by Francoise Donche, Jean Pierre Bethouart and Olivier Cresp.
Ange ou Démon has head notes of Italian mandarine, white thyme and saffron. In the body, maxillaria orchid, lily and ylang-ylang. In the bottom, the fragrance features oak absolute, rosewood, vanilla and tonka beans.
In my imagination, Ange ou Démon is like a masquerade offered by the high society. Behind the mask, the woman of Ange ou Démon can flirt, dance, insinuate, dare and decide if she prefers to show her angelic or demonic side. After all, under the half-light and behind a mask, we can all show a side that nobody knows or, who knows, our real personality.
My experience with Ange ou Démon goes beyond a decade. When I first felt this fragrance, I was ecstatic. It was released in 2006 and is classified as oriental floral. But it does not stop there: it has gourmand nuances and was part of a generation that abused of intense flowers, nocturnal appeal and use of vanilla. I liked it so much that, around 2010, I bought a bottle of its first flanker, released in 2008: Ange or Démon Tendre, which could be called just as Ange ou Démon Eau de Toilette nowadays. Then, years later, a bottle of the Eau de Parfum version came into my hands. The destiny was traced and I did not know it.
On my skin, Ange ou Démon behaves like an exotic scent, full of creamy nuances and quite shareable. This is because of the saffron and the thyme, which give dry and leathery nuances, much used in men’s fragrances. The lily is considered a symbol of aristocracy in France. Here, its milky scent fuses into the orchid’s powdery facets and both rest on a comfortable, sweet and creamy base. However, what nobody usually compliments is the use of the ylang-ylang flower, known for its high narcotic and aphrodisiac power. In my opinion, it is the great secret of this perfume.
Ange ou Démon is complete: beautiful bottle, high projection, absurd lasting, impeccable fragrance and Givenchy quality. It’s perfect for sexy women who know the difference between elegance and vulgarity, but who also know the exact time to choose which one to use. What about you: are you an angel or are you a demon?

One of the sexiest women frags ever made.
Very classy for women with personality for sure not a teen frag for lolitas or wanna be someday…

The scent of Edp Ange ou Etrange is uncommon. Although durability has an average, the composition is slightly safflower / manlish in the beginning. Then it changes, after 15 minutes there are no floral notes, although they are in composition. On my skin this is how I feel, like vanilla occurs, but hidden. These perfumes are not my type, but i can see its uniquess.

  41. :

    3 out of 5

I fell in love with it in 2007. Right after it came out, had it, used the big bottle to the last drop, got tones of compliments but also got tired of it, wanted to explore in different directions, did that, and now I’ve come back. Not many fragrances made me come back, and appreciate them the second time more than first.
I do get all the reviews: read them carefully, because I can agree with at least one part of almost each I have read: it is dualistic – extremely feminine, but with some reserved/coldish, maleish side (on me mostly oak moss, saffron and woods). It is intense, yet airy (coming from flowers, mostly), it is sweet but not on a servile, cute or girly way.
If there is a sweet gourmands layer present – it is the one which would not turn you into a tasteful object, but rather the one which will make a tasting subject out of you.
It is sexy in an elegant in a bit mysterious way – tempting and tender, but with the warning: it has the edge – very sexy edge, reserved, but not shy and not cold. Mature.
However, I do believe that delicate angel/demon balance in this scent seriously depends on skin-chemistry.
On me, this fragrance is playful: simultaneously both – angelic (someone wrote “feathery feel” – and yes, that’s it) and demonic, vanilla is very tame on me and not too sweet, but the woody-mossy concoction is nicely pronounced, with a little tonka-powder and spice.
This “dualistic” quality is not so common in the designer’s section, so if you have the opportunity for a propper testing – do it. On your skin. For one whole day, at least.
Maybe you’d get lucky and meet utterly feminine, elegant, adultly sexy, more “shady” than dark, a bit cold, but also tender, and crystaly bright scent.
    Angel AND demon, it is.
Recommended to all who are inclined to flowery/woody and not too sweet / just-a-bit-spicy orientals, for vanilla/tonka lovers exploring outside of gourmands, and maybe as an appealing, not difficult interpretation of moss, for those who were somehow scared away from this classic, very elegant note.
    * Love (2nd bottle)
    * silage: moderate (arms lenght. I must say that the fragrance in my first bottle, bought in 2007. had stronger projection in the drydown. However, today’s AOD is more office-friendly)
    * longevity: long lasting (8+ hours, If generously applied. Again, I did not need generous applying with the fragrance from 2007.).
    * weather/time: moderate to cold/ish. Since this is full bodied, but not heavy fragrance, on me it works beautifully in transitional seasons: on crisp, fresh days in mid-autumn and in early spring. Day. Night. Semi-casual to formal.

Ange ou Demon: the scent of Grand Bazaar in Istanbul
This is exactly where this fragrance takes me, Grand Bazaar in Istanbul. With its fragrant spices, herbs, and history.
Ange ou Demon doesn’t seem too seductive to me, however it is surely signature fragrance material.
In some spicy fragrances spices are so strong they are borderline nauseating, but not in this one. Lily and vanilla frame the whole composition and don’t let it become overpowering.
One of the most perfect fragrance names out there because the scent is so polarizing.
Not in my wish list because I have almost exactly same oil fragrance purchased in Istanbul, but otherwise I would consider buying it because it is quite unique.

Already written a review of this year’s ago but as my love for AoD is so strong I have to jump in again…. one word…
    UNIQUE
I am still to find a perfume that smells like this, there’s something so unusual about it that you feel that only a one of melding of notes must have created this beauty. No way could a human come up with this fragrance in their head before beginning the creative process.
    It’s thick, it’s saffron, it’s vanilla ylang-ylang, it’s creamy woods, it’s AoD
PS If anyone is wondering whether to go for one of AoD’s flankers my advice would be NO if your looking for something similar to this, but YES if you want a grown up gourmand. The Le Secret flanker is sweet but in a grown up manor.
But before jumping in for the flankers, which seem to be more popular, make sure you try this….it may just change your life

Agszja, you are certainly anosmic to AoD, I am too, can only smell AoD after many hours because by then my nose can handle it. On me it is the saffron note, its main component that causes this anosmia. Curiously there is one similar that I can smell better, either because it is lighter or the saffron is a bit different or from a different source. Such a great scent, very hypnotic, the vanilla is great, not gustative but passionate and mysterious.

I regularly check on different perfumes via Fragrantica and having read the reviews decided to purchase a bottle of Ange Ou Demon EDP
I love heavy perfumes, Dior Poison being my personal favourite with Dune coming a close second. I also like Calvin Klein Eternity and the now sadly discontinued Louis Ferraud Fantasque, I adore perfumes and do own many.
The following is a review by both myself and my daughter –
I sprayed it on and my initial reaction was, wow this is lovely, which gave me high hopes for the dry down however there was no dry down, within 10 mins there was absolutely nothing. I even tried the old trick of spraying the perfume on cotton wool/tissue and popping it into my bra but again nothing much so I gave the bottle to my daughter – when I buy perfume that either isn’t to my taste or simply doesn’t last on me, I give it to my daughter as usually it’s fine on her but although Ange Ou Demon does last longer on her it certainly doesn’t have the longevity either of us expected and sillage is poor.
I understand that different perfumes have differing reactions on each person due to skin but as I previously said usually what doesn’t last on me does last on my daughter – Ange Ou Demon is the exception to this.
My advice is do not blind buy this and do not buy as a gift unless you know 100% that the person wears this perfume.
On the plus side I must say that in the bottle and on the initial applying, Ange Ou Demon does smell devine and the reviewers who say about very heavy sillage and longevity are very lucky ladies.

This perfume is in the same time so gentle and so strong. My favorite for long long time !

My experience with this fragrance is clean, soapy and sweet. It is a pretty fragrance, but I was expecting something a bit more dark and sensual. I don’t know if there was something a bit off with the bottle that I purchased or if it is just how I perceive the notes. I enjoy it, nonetheless. For anyone else that also has the same experience, I think this will be very nice for late Spring and Summer.

After a scathing review a couple of years ago, I have had a change of heart regarding AoD. Apparently, our olfactory receptors do change with age, hormones, weather, many other factors. This insane mix of lightly sweetened, almost powdered, vanilla bean floral with spices is not-so-evil genius.
I’ve had this in a ‘for sale’ box since first whiffing it in cold months a couple of years ago. I found it terribly off-putting, overwhelmingly bitter, cold; though I did love the non-syrupy vanilla, Tonka, and feathery feel the sharp saffron was stabbing to death. I feel certain the saffron has always been the demon in this mix, as I am ‘old school’ *ahem* and I cannot detect the oakmoss in this blend to save my life. (See what happens when real oakmoss is banned?) On with it…
Summer is coming and to my dismay, I have discovered I can no longer enjoy sweetened fruity, floral, or gourmand in warm weather. Any scent with more than a hint of sweetness nauseates hell out of me and this is why I now adore Ange Ou Demon. To me, it is herbal and aromatic, and I disagree with accord listing above. It is only mildly sweet and cool spicy, as there is nothing warm about this blend. It’s perfect for vanilla lovers who don’t care much for sweetness. Ironically, I also find the saffron I once loathed in this concoction to be AoD’s salvation. It has reason to be there much the same as we offset sweet with bitter and salt when we cook. It has a rather astringent quality similar to rubbing alcohol which contrasts the light sweetness, leaving a non-soapy but clean, almost sterile quality that is captivatingly beautiful. It feels and smells feather light, cool and clean while maintaining the rich, luxurious, sexy quality I love. The celestial (angelic), non-gourmand-natural-skin-smelling-vanilla and Tonka are much more summer wearable due to the razor sharp (demonic) note which, thankfully, dries down quickly enough to the sexiest, most divine, barely sweetened, clean, milky vanilla skin scent in Heaven or Earth.
Men also seem to love this stuff and rightfully so. It is a highly unique, compelling fragrance. Rest assured, if you sin while wearing this potion there will be plenty men (and women) willing to dive straight to hell to pull you out for themselves. 😉

It opens very beautifully with citrus and saffron and flowers but after 5 minutes the note of oak moss becomes really apparant, and unfortunately I cannot stand it. Based on the reviews I thought maybe I can like this moderate amount of moss but nope! I can’t. It’s not the greenest potent moss but it’s certainly there.
I wouldn’t mind smelling it on other people _unlike strong mossy perfumes that make me run away_ but I don’t care to smell it constantly on my self.
    If you’re like me, beware.

Wow very interesting, it truly does have some sort of morbid trail following, made me think of funeral and graveyard. And at the same time even though has strong masculine sense to it you can imagine a haute couture woman wearing this and owning it, dark and sexy. Makes me keep smelling my wrist and trying to get more and more in tho the scent. Moss notes and dark tonka bean hits you mostly I would say.

Musty, moldy grandma closet opened up after decades. Creepy and cold, smells like steel and old clothes with death. Masculine and aggressive, I would never use a perfume like this one. If you want
