This is weird, but I prefer Anastasia IN the bottle.
The vanilla, which smells remarkably of McCormick Vanilla Extract is lovelier in the bottle than on my skin. Actually, the first couple of times I wore Anastasia the vanilla was all but lost on my skin, after a mere hint on the top.
I considered blaming it on the rollerball effect, and maybe it is, but I’m not convinced. By the third wearing, nose pressed firmly to wrist, I could detect the vanilla. Mixed with my skin, it had lost its McCormick’s appeal. The musk and my skin unfortunately make the vanilla less sweet. Anastasia is soft, no one would identify it as other than a skin scent. You’ll have to be more than a close friend to share this fragrance. The musk in unremarkable here. It’s present, but not PRESENT.
I’d absolutely LOVE to smell this fragrance on another wearer. Someone with skin capable of letting the vanilla genie from the bottle.
Free Anastasia! 😉
