Description

The legendary floral fragrance Anais Anais by Cacharel was launched back in 1978, and, to this day, it is one of the most popular and the most elegant florals. As Cacharel introduced a new edition Anais Anais Premier Delice in 2014, it also relaunched the original perfume (now with the suffix L’ Original) in two concentrations – Anais Anais L’Original Eau de Parfum and Anais Anais L’Original Eau de Toilette.

The fragrance is centered around the notes of lily, mixed with other white and green flowers that express the freshness and purity.

Anais Anais L’Original Eau de Parfum – opens with accords of green hyacinth and honeysuckle. Its heart mixes white flowers such as lily, lily of the valley, jasmine and ylang – ylang with rose. The base is woody, ambery and sweet, with a touch of vetiver, moss and musk.

EDT is available in bottles of 30, 50 and 100 ml.

Oh, baby! There you are – the hyacinth I’ve been looking for.
About five years ago, I was walking into a grocery store in springtime. The front walk outside of the store was filled with plants and flowers, and as I strode past, a redolent breeze hit me and stopped me in my tracks. The fragrance was familiar but more heavenly than any floral scent I had previously experienced. I looked down and noticed a row of potted hyacinth next to me. I picked one up and confirmed that it was the source of the intoxicating scent. From that moment on, I have searched for a perfume as breathtaking as the scent of those hyacinth plants. Just as most hyacinth plants fail to live up to that dreamy bunch, most hyacinth heavy fragrances let me down. Sometimes, I can hardly even detect the hyacinth that others rave about in a perfume. But Anais Anais L’Original gets about as close as I can ask to recreating that spring afternoon. Why did I wait so long to give it a go? Well, I guess because I have a complicated relationship with the house of Cacharel, and I was afraid of being let down. Silly me. This is an easy, uncomplicated, lovely floral – Cacharel playing it safe, but in a good way.

    PURE.
Anais Anais L’Original is perfection. Can’t stop sniffing my wrist since I sprayed this on. Beautiful lily, hyacinth and lily of the valley. Oh gosh I just adore this. Charming and very sweet scent.
Makes me think of the painting Windflowers (1902) by John William Waterhouse, White lace, girly nightgowns, romance, rose lip balm and listening to Daddy Issues by The Neighbourhood on repeat. Hey, I’m young and have yet to mature!

This is both flowers and the earth they grow from. Maidenhood into womanhood. Something sad and cronelike in the soapy veneer of white floral crowns. I think of forests, moss and chiffon skirts. Birds in the trees.
At the same time, I think of my childhood and shopping malls alongside my elder sisters and their friends and those holographic eye pendants everyone had in the 90s. Perhaps I smelt this growing up on one of them and only now am I smelling it again do I remember.
It was the other formulation that I smelt first and they are similar but this one is the winner between the two. L’original is much more hyacinch dominant and ‘cleaner’ whilst also being earthier. Anais Anais is more LOTV and shower clean like, with a slight sourness to it.
I love the hyacinch, and whilst I dislike a lot of soapiness, this is so endearing and ethereal and, my god, the 30ml bottles of this are the most adorable thing I’ve seen in a while, seriously.

I picked this up on major sale and i had no idea what to except. I have no scent memory attached to this fragrance so when i got in the car i was pleasantly surprised! It is definitely floral at first but on me dried down to a lovely clean, floral soap scent and was actually longer lasting than i thought it would be. I think it will also layer nicely with other scents so I’m glad i picked it Up! Also – i love the way the bottle looks 🙂

I finally got my hands on this!
This bottle is so elegant and beautiful! The fragrance is very unique. I feel like it is a ylang bomb! The bottle is a bit deceiving, as I was expecting a soft gentle powdery kiss of a scent, delicate like a little butterfly. But no, this is a bit tooooo much! Toooo sharp, at least for me. But still it is drawing me in like a moth to a flame. What is happening!? I want to say “heck no!”but I just can’t! That hint of a rose along side the lily of the valley and the super dose of ylang… it is messing up my brain ha ha!

This is really nice! It’s a very elegant and classic white and green floral blend of lily and hyacinth. The base is earthy and woodsy with oakmoss, vetiver, and musk. A beautiful springtime fragrance!

    I love this.
I’ve been re-visiting some fragrances from my childhood, and this is one I’ve loved discovering all over again. I loved the Anais Anais lotion back then, it came in a frosted bottle and was a pale green. But back then, I did not care for the perfume spray version. Either this has softened over the years, or maybe my preferences have shifted. But this is not sharp like I remember.
At first blast, this is lovely. A soft floral beauty. Then on the middle dry down, I pick up a little smokiness and woodiness, probably the moss, vetiver and musk peeking through. I can kind of see the similarity to Paloma Picasso there. But the smokiness and woodiness only last about half an hour before drying down further to a fresh, clean floral. Fairly light, not heavy at all.
I am enjoying my trip down memory lane, revisiting these timeless beauties.

When I was little, my grandmother had a mini coffret of Cacharel fragrances and I loved to open the little box and take out each little bottle to admire. I asked to see the perfumes so often that she gave them to me. Afterwards, in the little patch of sunlight on my bedroom floor, I would take them out and dab a little on my wrist. My favorite of all the scents, and in fact the only one I even remember 25 years on is Anais Anais. In a fit of nostalgia I decided to buy it again. I assumed the scent would have changed through a few reformulations, but at first spray, there was my warm little room, long gone, but just like my little self, still somehow present. Scent memories are amazing. The fragrance itself is just lovely. It does have perhaps an old fashioned, French milled soap quality about it- floral, but simultaneously fresh and clean. I think you could wear this anywhere, any season and certainly any age. So happy to rediscover this sweet little bottle!

Just received a tester bottle that I bought on eBay at a great price in the mail. I RAN to the mail box, grabbed the package and ripped it open right there and then with all my strength…I sprayed…and I closed my eyes…
Time has been rewinded for me as if I was watching a movie about my life story from the past up to present days. Many flash-back memories of my young adult-hood came back, the time when I was in college back in Asia, saving up our poor-student-money/allowance with my bestie in order to afford some imported cosmetic stuff from overseas which was SUCH a big deal and a luxurious life style for many girls in my generation back then. As you know, young Asian like us in a poor country over 20 years ago did not get to experience or introduce to “Western” cosmetic products. And we shared this precious gem. To us, it was not just a bottle of something that smelled great and heavenly, it was much more than that. It represented a whole different world that we barely knew about (the very first bottle of perfume in my life. Come to think of it again, I’m SO happy that it was Anais Anais that broke my perfume’s virginity 🙂 )…
…And it is now in my hands once again, like a long time forgotten favorite piece of jewelry that just has been found (even though it is just a brought-back bottle, not the very original one)…
To me, it is STILL such a feminine, UNIQUE, one of a kind and CLASSY FLORAL fragrance, although I have had many bottles of different great scents in my life up to this day. It stands out on its humble way among many other classy and big names such as Chanel No. 5, No. 19, Guerlain Shalimar Initial…It is like a “rough diamond” among other gems of mother nature, waiting to be discovered and polished at certain ways, and then treasured by its TRUE owner. It HAS TO suit you and fit you as if it exists just for YOU. It can NOT be enjoyed or worn by “force”. It either works its magic on you or simply just fights against you. There is no grey area here. You two either love or hate each other!
It is now shinning and sparkling on me as I have found my precious little diamond again 🙂

I wore it when I was a teenager, in the 80s. Very floral, fresh, feminine and romantic. There is a halo of innocence about it that no longer appeals to me but this is a beautiful perfume for a young girl debuting in the fragrance world.

My wonderful, loving fiance gifted me a 100ml bottle of this today, on Christmas Day! I’m delighted. I’m typically a spicy oriental lover, but I’ve had a hankering for some classic oldies. I hate modern, wimpy perfumes. This one is a beautiful, big, robust white floral with lots of character. I love it! I will expand my review once I get to know Anais Anais a little better. I just wanted to express my enthusiasm for such a sweet gift! My mom’s brother, my uncle, would buy this perfume for their mom every year. My fiance’s sister would also get this beauty for Christmas every year too. So this runs in both our families. I’m also very, very grateful that Cacharel has re-released the vintage formula in this L’original form, maybe other perfume brands should take a page out of their book. Ahem, Dior.

This is powdery, soft, and best used when you’re on vacation because it makes me feel relaxed. This must be used in day, because for me, the smell is better for using daytime.

This is a fun lil perfume! I get a strong, mostly powdery/soapy floral but the best part is whiffs of chypre from time to time. Green mossy dryness… Just like I enjoy. So this a fun lil uplifting scent with a bit extra. It does smell dated, but that mossy green base reminds me of my faves: Givenchy III, Miss Dior, Caleche, Madame Rochas, etc… In fact, I may layer Anais Anais with a chypre to boost the green-ness in the drydown.
I grabbed a cute gift set for a great price on ebay. It came with 2 lotions. The lotion is adorable too– much lighter and creamy compared to the EDT (which by comparison is schreechy) I even gave one of the lotions to my friend- who wore this in the 80s. <3

I’m a bit torn on this one.
I generally dislike white florals and I find this scent to smell a little too musky, poudery and strong. There’s a smoky/ashy note in there I can’t quite place.
I know it’s a scent that’s iconic, in fact, I’ve smelled this multiple times before I had it gifted to me–But I still don’t find myself reaching for it often despite getting it as a present years ago.
It perhaps doesn’t sit on my skin right. I tend to use it for family dinners or more “mature” situations, but I otherwise find this scent too overwhelming. Perhaps I should try to get used to it. I’m sure it smells wonderful on other people, but I have yet to find myself really liking it.
    Sillage: Moderate
Longevity: It’s fantastic. It lasts for quite a few hours.

For me, this fragrance is a study in contradictions and cognitive dissonance. Nothing else in my collection can make me feel simultaneously youthful and mature; fresh and musty; soft and loud; and perhaps most importantly, like I smell good and like I smell bad. And honestly, I love it! It doesn’t see as much use as other scents in my wardrobe, but whenever I wear it, I savor its complexity and appreciate its legacy in the pantheon of classic fragrances. This scent inspires deep inhalations of its aroma followed by contented sighs because, yes, it really is me that smells this great!

I didn’t like this fragrance as a child,it was too sharp for my nose but now that I’m in my 40s I have rediscovered this beauty. Just a beautiful bouquet of fresh powdery hyacinth and lilies, perfect for just after a shower. I love this fragrance,it feels so fresh. It’s even better when layered with Aquolina’s Pink Sugar.

Typically I don’t care for white florals. This perfume is the exception because its a perfume I feel has less to do with notes and more to do with experience and feeling.
Anais Anais is the smell of a good woman. My Grandmother wore it and she was such a good woman. A devout Catholic, loved her family, loved to feed you and take care of you. Very nurturing. I feel like I gain virtue wearing this perfume, like my Grandmother’s essence gets infused in my being from this scent. God love her…
Anyway Anais Anais is really a profoundly beautiful perfume. I feel it conjures up something of the Divine and I can feel God smiling at me. Powdery, Ethereal, Magic. That is Anais Anais, the smell of a good woman who lives forever…

Lovely lily with an oakmoss edge… Gorgeous! Fresh but with substance, clean without being soapy, strong but not overwhelming. My mom had a bottle of Anais Anais when I was a kid and this smells true to my memory. Timeless.

I’m in love again! L’Original (in 1978) was my first French fragrance. Still recall the day as a teen when I visited D.H. Holmes (now Dillard’s), noting quite a few samples, would return to this one. It’s fairly strong for an EDT so a little goes a long way. Elegant, classic and fresh it leaves me with a picture of a French country home next to a modest garden where its flowers grow in a natural, free-flowing design. Perhaps it’s spring, while wearing a white muslin peasant dress am lying on a blanket with a book. Or writing a love letter, misting the pages when done. It seems pretty close to the “original” to be called as such. Also the quality must be mentioned. How many perfumes I’ve purchased from VS and they have no staying power. Or, they smell fruity-floral or gourmand. Having a white floral go-to scent is always a perfect choice.

I’m about to purchase this “L’Original” however.. I don’t quite get it: if this is the original formula, how come the Perfume Pyramids at te top don’t match? In any case, I could never put my finger on it, until I just read Sailor Pluto’s comment (April 19th 2016), it’s indeed the spiciness that wasn’t there before. I remember my first bottle when it was launched: Heavenly scent! I wore it no matter the season, but now I only wear it in winter and cannot stand it during the summer. This new oldie gets my hopes up definitely..

Such a pretty fragrance. Fresh lillies and fresh clean air. One of the only florals that does not become sour on my skin. Excellent staying power. Can be a bit strong if you use too much. Best for spring and summer days, in my opinion, but sometimes I can’t resist wearing it in the dead of winter- it really has a sunny, spring feeling to it, like walking in a fragrant garden on a warm day. A classic, and one I’ll always love.

French, Sexy & Gorgeous, love this perfume, Lou Lou being my signature perfume, I never smelled Anais till now, I bought a small 30ml bottle, such nice porcelain classy bottle with a sturdy top.
I will get the 100ml soon because this is precious.
Its only the EDT I got.
I cant find th EDP so far but will get if I can.
Love Anais, a perfume for the Goddess within us, jasmine comes through strongly for me beyond the sweet powdery sensuous scent……

Very romantic, classic and strong floral. Thank god this “l’original” doesn’t have the leather spiciness that the “anais anais” wihtout “l’original” has! however, I find the drydown cloying and sickly-sweet. Similar to Faith Hill. I think it’s the jasmine..

I blind bought this online because it was on sale for so cheap. It’s a nice sweet floral, more opaque-smelling (how’s that for synesthesia and the English language? I wish there were more words describing smells) than most transparent caramel syrup- scented florals that are popular these days, but not all that powdery in comparison to older perfumes. In the beginning, there’s this fresh, sharp green note cutting through the sweet floral scent, and a subtle fruity note that I wouldn’t really recognize as blackcurrant. Overall, very nice, and if it was in an unmarked sample vial, I wouldn’t really think of it as being retro, just a fresh floral to wear when you want something nice, clean and uncomplicated that *isn’t* a ditzy fruity floral or a real soap scent.
This is much, much softer and more subtle than the perfumes I’m used to wearing, so I had to spray a bit extra to smell it on myself. I can see why fans of the old formula are a bit disappointed with the strength of this, but it’s not that bad so far as projection– better than an edc.
Because I don’t have any prior associations with this fragrance, it doesn’t make me think of anything romantic or any age range, but a blooming garden after a morning rain shower on a hot summer day. This seems like a great fragrance for when I want something feminine and casual.

This is my first review. I discovered this site a few weeks ago and am truly amazed that there are so many perfumes in existence and that so many people not only love them but also understand them. I’ve learnt so much from this site, but still feel completely unequal to the task of actually discussing perfume with any real insight.
However, today I bought Anaïs Anaïs L’Original EDT at Priceline, where it was on sale. I used to wear it back in the 80’s and really loved it. However, I didn’t repurchase it after using up my first bottle. I did, over the years, spray it on when I saw it in department stores. I never seemed to like it again. Now, thanks to this site, I know what I was trying was a reformulation, not the ‘original’ I used to wear and love. It was a fortunate accident that what I bought today was the ‘original’ because when I tried it, I thought it smelt just the way it did years ago.
Having said all this, it doesn’t smell floral on me – goes straight to the base notes, I think, with maybe just a memory of floral. It seems ‘dry’ and clean and fresh in a forest sort of way. While really not knowing much about perfume ‘notes’, most perfumes on me seem to head straight to the base notes unless the florals are really strong (e.g. tuberose). Does anyone else have this experience or know why this happens?

The only way I can really describe this is as smelling like the pink Dove beauty bars (albeit with added oakmoss). Which is nice, because that’s a nostalgic scent for me, but definitely nothing special. In addition I find it a tad too mature for my tastes. I’m not really a Cacharel fan overall though.

When I was a younger I never followed the crowds, I didnt buy the usual things that they did, JUST because it was ‘IN’…. I had just left school when the original Anais Anais came out, and I preferred softer perfumes, and never did own a bottle of it….Fast forward 35+ years with a passion for perfumes, and I was reading reviews and thought I had to try some. So I bought a bottle….I accidently bought the EDT, ( I know from experience in other perfumes, that I need EDP as they just dont last any time at all on me)…..but before I realised it I had opened the box, and sprayed it on me….too late to return it for an EDP….well I sprayed some at 7am this morning before work, and it is now 3pm and it is still almost as strong as when I applied it. The fragrance is beautiful white florals, to me it does have a vintage vibe….and at 54 years old, SO DO I…LOL….. the longevity is unbelievable…EDT is well-known to not last very long, and on ME it lasts no more than 2 hours….I have been wearing this for 8 hours and there is still no let-up in the fragrance. You can only hazzard a guess how much longevity the EDP produces….My only regret is, that I only bought a 30ml bottle, I think I will be re-purchasing this is in the larger 100ml size bottle.

I have been using Anais Anais since the early 1980s and it is by far the best, I haven’t used another since. I am sensitive to today’s perfumes, way too strong to be around, especially those who spray their clothing too heavily. I find Anais Anais to be light and delightful without offending anyone. I receive more compliments from wearing Anais Anais, more so from men. I think men appreciate a light fragrance over today’s more powerful scents. I also found that Anais Anais blends well with my body chemistry. I only wish I could find the older formula, the new formula is somewhat heavier and not as appealing. If anyone knows where to find the older formula, please advise.

my mom wore this throughout most of my childhood years and i always loved it! i used to sneak up into her room and grab the bottle from her dressing table only to dwell in its heavenly scent.
after all these years i purchased myself a bottle of this “new old” version and was quite pleasantly surprised with just how similar it smells to the original one. indeed an emotional trip down memory lane! and still so unique! such a beautiful floral, so feminine and distinct. to me it doesn’t smell like any other fragrance in the world. and the longevity is amazing!
i must say it’s not a safe blind buy, though. some people absolutely hate it, some say it’s an “old lady” smell… and my husband hates it when i wear it, haha. but too bad, i’ll be wearing it for a long time, for it will always be one of my lifetime favourites.

After reading the reviews saying that this version is closest to the actual original Anais Anais from the 1980s, I thought “why not?” and found a cute little bottle for only $25. I did get the edt, as that was the strength I used “back in the day.” Tested on one arm, this really is very close to the original. Close, I must stress. The note that was taken out of the very first Anais Anais due to reformulation around 2004-5-6, is still not to be found in “L’Original”. That note made it unique amongst other white florals, and addicting, and gave it a great deal of its magic which was in the way it lingered. One of my fondest memories of wearing the old, true Anais was a remark from a boyfriend I had at the time. He used to say, on the nights that for whatever reason (usually work related) that I couldn’t join him for a rendevous, that he would hold close the pillow that I usually rested my head on, and would press his nose into the pillow and breathe in the traces of Anais Anais that I left on it, and this would comfort him. So much of Anais Anais’s magic was in the way it lingered. I just wish I could figure out what the missing note is!
This version is indeed very close to the original, and yes I do recommend it. I’m wearing it today, and I’ll tell you what else I did: I have a splash bottle of the edt, and this bottle is from the 1980s. The top notes are gone, so I get a lot of green at the beginning, but then after around 15 minutes that soft, addicting, comforting base comes out. It is faint now, but still present, and still comforting, and I sniff it and say “Yes, there you are.” Today I sprayed on the new “L’Original Anais Anais”, and then I layered it with the vintage. She’s back! The new version restores the beautiful top and heart notes and serves to anchor and amplify the base of the vintage (the vintage base is not replicated in this new version). The vintage puts that magical lost note back in, and gives it the soft sillage that it had from so many years ago. The best of both worlds! If you have a vintage that may have gone off (well, I’m certainly not as spry now as I was in the 1980s, eh?), try layering it with this new version, and I think you will see it almost if not fully restored on your skin, and in your memory. The memory often tends to be half the battle for a perfume, doesn’t it? Anyway, this is just a suggestion. Thank you so much for the helpful reviews!
PS: and yes, it is a refreshing break from everything else out there that smells like cake or candy!

For those who love the original Anais Anais as it was when it was first introduced, and are disappointed with subsequent reformulations, you must find this one labeled “L’Original”. This is truly the original, back in its former glory of rich florals. I honestly don’t think it smells like the current version of Anais Anais, which I found disappointing. I am so impressed with Cacharel for releasing this version, I can’t help but wish other perfume manufacturers would follow their lead and bring back all the originals many of us miss so much. This is the real Anais Anais, instantly recognizable. If you used to wear it back in the day, it’ll take you back.

Just to say, whats allready been said, This is so close to what I renember it smelling like. Its a trip down memory lane, and its so beautiful. I think that This even today could be a signature,im 32 yo, and have to admit it suids my olfaction. I am mainly a floral, fruity-floral musk lover, and although having alot of gourmands I tend to wear tired of them, maybe its the era, and like people in The 80s hated this, gourmands is the new black. Seriosly everytime I now smell something different, unlike mainstream perfumery, I love it. And this is a classic i want to own, because its just perfect.

This *really does* smell exactly like the original I remember from childhood!
Anais Anais has always had more of a “feeling” than a smell, for me… it gives me an abstract impression of a time and place, rather than a list of notes in my head. I inhale it and instinctively picture a whitewashed wood 1920’s farmhouse under a vast blue prairie sky… in a bedroom of that house, a woman has just emerged from her claw-foot tub and has put on her white cotton nightgown for bed… but first, she sits at her dark wood vanity to brush her long hair with a silver brush… there is a white iron bed in the room, white cotton curtains on tall windows …
Somehow, one little spritz of a fragrance composed by a modern-day perfumer does all of that for me, and there is so much more…
Anaias Anais is what my mom wore, and it suited her so well… although she was adapted to manage as a single, working mom in a modern world, her soul was from another time… she loved to sew and work in her garden, loved the country and simple things, never fell for any idea the world tried to push on women of what she was supposed to be, she just was who she was, a natural, genuine, kind person who was deeply loved by everyone who knew her.
I lost my mom far too young, for both of us- she was only 41 and I was 19- I have now been without her for as long as she was with me.
So, smelling this again, after all these years, is an emotional experience, of course (typing and weeping)… turns out, just as intense an emotional experience as I’d hoped it would be. Little sadness, mostly just love. This smells like love to me, like my mom’s hugs, and that is probably how it will feel forever.

I am not normally an in your face floral lover but this? Yeah….its just wonderful. Its just like I remember it from my childhood. On me, this is a very creamy rose and white floral. No powdery anything. To me, wearing this feels like I’m in some warm, familiar, safe place. Maybe its the childhood memories attached to this scent….whatever it is I am quite happy with this.

At last, 25 years of waiting and here it comes – my beloved, REAL Anais!:-D I’ve been looking at it in Sephora for over a year, but they didn’t have testers. Only today did I finally get the chance to test the EDTand I’m surprised how intense and long lasting it is! Nothing like the watered-down popular version. My sleeve smells great after 6 hours! And the main note that can be sensed is the one that’s been missing in the ‘usual’ Anais during the last 25 years – most probably hiacynth, though hiacynth is listed for both varieties. A must for vintage Anais lovers!

Anais anais l’original is very soapy with lots of flowers and vetiver. This is truly a classic formula as it smells unlike all the new releases of nowadays perfumes. It is also pretty strong with a staying power over 10 hours and a moderate sillage.
This is a very potent perfume from cacharel. It’s a perfect reformulation that truly honors it’s grandmother, the first Anais Anais.

Happy to purchase 30 ml of this new formulation in edt, it is balanced and more beautiful than previous formula. This does smell like the one I remember from early 80’s(my aunt wore it), I highly recommend it for white florals lovers and romantic perfumes addict. But if you got used to gourmand/candy/vanilla scents of today, you are advised to test it on skin first. Bravo Cacharel, this is well don, and I may buy a bigger size. In general, go test it,it worths the trip. By the way, the bottle is AMMAZING looks like the one in vintage ads of Anaiis.

Finally! An Anais Anais that I can wear! The previous reformulation was truly awful… I’d read reviews about it being soft, cozy and romantic but all I got was harsh screechy, frankly unbearable flower that felt dry and synthetic. This is something that I can truly enjoy and love. I’m so happy I went out on the limb to buy this (in EdT)… and at the bargain price of $19.99 at Marshall’s! Buy it! It may not be everyone’s taste since it is very floral, but it is beautiful. And like the reviews I’ve read in the past, it has an undeniably romantic and innocent vibe. Those ethereal dream-like ads finally make sense to me. Love it!

Major Props to Cacharel for listening and caring about their customers. I’ve said before that the anais anais reformulation was WAY too powdery. This is truly the vintage edt that I used to love as a 10 year old. Also the bottle is almost identic to the Original: White ceramic or glass and silver stopper.
Perhaps other brands (I’m looking at you dior) should learn about this smart move and instead of releasing flanker after flanker and reformulations every other year should Just go back to their roots.

While comparing Anaïs Anaïs L’Original EDT with the previous EDT version, I don’t get much difference, with L’Original being slightly more indolic and more floral sweet, while the previous EDT slightly more powdery in a mineral way and more prominent hyacinth. But if I smell them seperately or blind, I definately will not be able to tell them apart.
The sillage is soft, the longevity is around 10 hours.

    LOOOVE
Have tested it in the shop today, the “loriginal EDT”. All i can say is that it is indeed very true to the original formula and much much better better than it’s preceeder – the reformulated EDT. I don’t see it as a NEW fragrance, just a very sucsessful “back to the roots” reformulation. I was actually thinkng a long time ago that the great classics need a reminder, a new advertising campaign or something and it might help to keep them within broad public sight of interest. Cacharel just read my thoughts and i truly hope it will start a new trend of the relaunch of “l’originals” where possible, whthout drastic reformulations.
Now i don’t need to search for vintage anymore, this version is perfect in terms of duplicating it with a great sillage and lasting power.
UPDATE: I have noticed that in the shops they have a testers of the previous reformulation for both EDTs and EDPs, but sell the “L´original” versions of this beauty. So when you test them in shops BE AWARE and LOOK CLOSELY which one is a tester bottle? Is it still the old one or the one that has indeed “L´original” written on it.
This is indeed a “back to it´s roots” reformulation, that is quite true to the vintage. LOVE LOVE LOVE!!

Every teen Had this one in The eighties here in Italy. I didn’t, I disliked it totally. Strong, nauseating, too flowery. A nightmare having to sniff it everywhere. I’m curious to try this after ages, although I don’t expect any surprise. i’m still not a flower gal
