Ameer Al Oudh 2 has quite a strong medicinal oud/rose opening with a lot of alcohol that’s also initially slightly metallic to my nose. As the alcohol burns off though the rose and oud start to waft between each other and both notes are quite distinguishable. It’s quite unique but rather likeable actually. I detect very little raspberry. It’s mildly present but to a minimal level on my skin. The oud is definitely medicinal in nature and the rose is more in the vein of chypre floral on me. I don’t get a lot of sweetness from this, very little in fact. That’s not uncommon with florals on my skin though, others may well experience the sweetness to a greater degree than I do.
As it dries down the oud comes up a little stronger together with the woody musky aspect and a clear and present undercurrent of rose that works in a complimentary and harmonious manner with the rest of the notes. The oud being the more prominent but by no means overpowering of these. It’s quite a pleasant experience to be honest and as with the rest of the Lataffa fragrances is of a good quality.
As the dry down progresses throughout the day the rose softens further into the background although not entirely extinguishing and the oud remaining more strongly, taking on a slight smokey incense aspect towards the end of the dry down.
this one has a shorter life on my skin compared to the 12 hours + I get from both Raghba and the original Ameer, remaining for about half to two thirds the time, still well acceptable but the application is somewhat heavier. Silage is average, about half that of the afore mentioned but some may prefer that.
The presence of oud and woods balances out the rose and I feel makes the fragrance comfortably unisex.
If you’re looking for the kind of sweet you get from Raghba or the original Ameer Al Oudh, this is probably not your thing. But if you don’t mind your ouds leaning in the direction of medicinal and enjoy a chypre floral then this might tickle your fancy. I personally am a very big fan of sweets, but I also enjoy a good oud of which this is and am finding it to be refreshing and unique change from what I’m used to.

Very versatile fragrance, at least on my skin! I just love this juice.
