Ambré Baldessarini for men of Baldessarini

Description

A woody-oriental fragrance with fruity nuances that ‘separates the men from the boys’, is the third fragrance from Baldessarini.
Charles Schumann, the face of the first two, once again lends his masculine and charming image to advertise this woody-oriental juice with whisky and oak-wood accents.

A distinctive note of whisky opens the composition harmonized with the notes mandarin orange and red apple. At its heart, the sharp leather note is blended with violet. Its amber-oriental character is sustained thanks to vanilla, oak moss and labdanum. It was created by the Firmenich perfumer team in 2007.

Just wanted add that to get the best out of this fragrance you would need to do at minimum 3 to 5 sprays. Maybe, even do 1 spray on your shirt.
I did 1 burst on my chest(bare), 1 on the back of my neck and 1 to my beard.

This is my 3rd Baldessarini fragrance and it’s by far my favorite. I wore it today in 85 degree weather and it surprised me. I thought it would be too heavy being that it has a whisky and leather note. Needless to say it wasn’t over powering at all. However, I got around 8 hrs out of it and around 3 plus hrs of projection( not beast mode) but well worth the $$.

I never heard about this brand ever … went to the store where i generally buy perfumes from , the guy said just give it a try , opening was very harsh so i left it aside and started trying other perfumes but after 5 mins it turned out to be brilliant and i i immediately picked it up honestly this smells better than the one million prive and is very different smelling . Do buy it if you want to stand out in the crowd .. would rate it 8.5/10 in overall .
Update : this is 98% same as Boss Bottled Oud , but is better in IMO

I never was a fan of Baldessarini´s fragrances. But this one is a very good scent, indeed. I like very much the drydown, but i think it could be stronger from the start. For the price, worths every euro i spent on it!

    * Has this been disco’d? Prices on The Bay are climbing….
As a straight woman of ‘a certain age’, I wear this (amongst others). Both men and women seem to really like it, the compliments and hugs are about even.
Not a STRONG amber, but it has an edge to it – it’s just played softly, it’s not deep and rich, if you can understand me – but maybe it would leap and slap me if I did overspray? A touch of whiskey barrel, and a smidge more Apple than would be perfect for me, but it helps keep it lighter and not suffocating, while everything else stays barely a whisper only sensed once forgotten.
For my use, I prefer it for cooler weather and day time, I just feel it isn’t femininely luscious for an evening date.

a good Scent, could be better for sure, if heavier. a great advantage, you will not get bored of it.

Bought this one at a garage sale for $2.50. It was about 3/4 full. I asked the guy why is he selling it. He said that he seem to attract more men than women. I was flooded by that statement. I was expecting a long the lines he got it as a gift and just wasn’t his taste.
I really like the smell. It is not very unique and reminds me of a boozy armani code. Funny thing is that the first day I wore it to work a guy asked me what I was wearing that it smells like a chick magnet. It might be a coincidence but I have gotten more compliment or questions from guys than women.

This is a fantastic fragrance, gentlemen! It opens with a boozy, even somewhat dirty vibe, but then settles into an apple/ambery/lightly boozy mid that lingers close to the skin for a good while. It’s well known that this isn’t a sillage bomb. Use this when you’ll be indoors, in close quarters, or when your nightly prowl calls for a little more discretion than fanfare. If the above notes appeal to you, you’ll be glad to wear this- it smells true to its description. Ambré is some good juice. I recommend it.

another blind buy that turn me another WHOAAAA….
the opening is a bit boozy, warm leathery splash.
but wait till it blended to the heat of your skin.
it is sooo masculine and yet, a tiny smell of creamy vanilla in bold..yess bold tobacco. it make me think of burberry london pour into D&G the ONE. HAHAHA..
an evening and more formal frag, clearly put male amongst the boys.
    do LOVE it!

Thick, lightly boosy and very long lasting.
A beautiful mix of Boss Bottled and the warm amber of Dolce&Gabbana The One with soft leather in the dry down.
Tremendous value for the quality you get.
    Highly recommended.

    So….blind bought it.
Its a very known feminine apple scent on my skin.
    Mostly apple,I don’t get any amber ,
Apple cider but mostly apple and a little hint of some booze .
By the time the leather appear after 30m-1 hour its very close to the skin and this is very weak scent ..its tired .
There is no performance its there and that’s it ..on my skin .not a bad scent .
    But bad overall.
the boozy note is like the cheap vodka kind..sorry but thats how it is
    on my skin.
    Update:
to do justice to this parfum.
I found that if i spray 4-5 sparys on each arm i get a relly
Good perfomence and a really good boozy leathery scent.
And a lot of compliments ..its good if i go wild on the sprayer.

Excellent fragrance. I’ve worn it three times in the week since I’ve purchased it. I love the apple and whiskey top and the leathery, vanilla Amber drydown. Very sexy and a compliment getter.

What’s to say, beautiful masculine amber scent with whisky, rum, vanilla and the right amount of sweetness.
Not overpowering but still enough to make a statement. It’s in my favourites list!

  16. :

I own this cologne for several years and for a long time it also seemed to me that it´s just a skinscent. However, other people can smell it from me and it gets tons of compliments (it is probably my most complimented cologne, together with Cool Water)…I get mostly amber and leather when I smell it, longevity being about 5-6 hrs. I´d classify B. Ambre as an ideal frag for intimate moments and cuddling.

  17. :

    4 out of 5

Beautifully composed amber scent, subtle and classy but too mild and lacking in oomph for me. Opening notes are awesome but they quickly fade away.
I need to feel there is something on me, scent wise, for more than 5 minutes. Feels like just a skin scent on me. Well made, again, but too modest.
I crave more power and projection. This came off as very meek.
But for certain kind of personalities, it would be perfect. However, I want my fragrances to make a splash.

  18. :

    3 out of 5

Extremely sexy and masculine. The sweetness is just right and tempered with the woods and spices. The leather drydown is fantastic. Every man over 30 should own a bottle of this. An inexpensive GEM.

Imagine winter, a fire place, a room where everything is made of wood, a shot single malt whiskey, with a hint of smokiness and sweetness, a leather jacket. A very warm, ambery, fruity, woody and semi-sweet scent that is manly to the core, a dirty and animaic notes are very well contained, just a bit to make it interesting, and not too much to make it very unique, as lovely as this is its not very unique, it’s also fluffy and airy not as syrupy as other ambery sweet scents, it won’t be as appealing in very warm weather or in daytime.
    Beautiful!

Beautiful fragrance sweet fruity ambery delicious fragrance. Really good silage and longevity. Loved this so much as i always do to special fragrances i bought a backup bottle.

I love this scent! My big brother wore this for ages when I was little and I would always hug him extra long to smell this. Not too sweet, kind of a soft smooth earthy, woody, masculine scent. Just reminds me of my childhood and my big brother whom I love and miss very much.

  23. :

    3 out of 5

my brother wear this and i love it. it’s sweet, warm yet masculine and fruity fresh. love the fruity fresh orange and sweet amber at first and then warm amber- vanilla and leathery masculine when its dry. quite long lasting with moderate sillage. i think this ambre can easily wear by women, too.

  24. :

    4 out of 5

The bottle design is the best, strong and masculine, and the opening of apple and whisky is very agreeable. Alas, this is one of two scents that I am personally allergic to. There is a note in the heart or base that left me with a piercing headache on the three occasions I’ve worn it. Think it is the leather or amber note. I can’t use this scent anymore but retain the bottle for its stylish lines.

  25. :

    5 out of 5

This is an excellent fragrance to wear for work or school. The ambery, mandarins and the apples are well blended together. I think this fragrance is underrated, or just unknown by the average public. Although I think this is a fragrance for the older confident business men(+35yrs) who just want to smell sexy in a sensual way.

I’m getting here a vibe for night use, but for me it works superbly as a day office perfume. One reason for it is because it dissipates quickly and it is not in your face. It works in the backround of your day not invading in strength. The scent is definitely fresh and sweet and I’m not getting much spice from this one.

  27. :

    3 out of 5

Ambre was a blind buy for me. After reading all of the positive reviews and considering the low cost of this one, I thought “Why NOT try this?” And I am glad I did!
It has an Amber and sweet apple wood opening that is a tad bit boozy. After the initial spray a little smoky warm leather quickly emerges, making this a very delicious fragrance.
Ambre reminds me a little of YSL L’Homme. That same sexiness in L’Homme is in this one as well. I am not saying that this is a L’Homme clone, but they do share that same sexy vibe. Ambre is also classy and clean, without being a green type scent. A very good combination IMO.
Although it has a great scent, I get about 3 to 4 hours of moderate project before it become a skin scent.
Overall this is a good fragrance. A very soft scent, but very well balanced. Good for intimate date night or an office scent when you do not want a lot of projection.
Bottom line: A good choice for a good bargain fragrance.

Ambré of Baldessarini is the kind of perfume that we underestimated until the day it is allowed to try it and eventually fall off the horse for its beautiful aromatic proposal, at least in my view. I must say that it is nothing innovative, but the style “cool” that it carries is very different from the others thrown around the outside, has a legal complexidadezinha it, something that makes us stop and appreciate your notes in profusion each other so to build their true olfactory identity.
Particularly I knew nothing of the House Baldessarini before, had heard and seen something about, but always stalled until the day Ambré crossed our paths to our joy! Its opening brings a mace, artificial, but it is still juicy and very evident similar to mace that has the opening of the Boss Orange for Men Hugo Boss, and this one she is immersed in a sweet syrup Peach help this note fruity to remain for longer time in the skin, which is not the second.
Soon, it becomes a more rustic scent with leather notes, with the Violet background acutely causing a mild annoyance to the nostrils, nothing unbearable, since the balance between leather and Violet are put forms treated in intent being a supportable and appreciated phase; it works here, I approved.
At the base it reveals a modern woody with sweet touches, I believe it is the vanilla because of the noticeable gourmand footprint and aromatic woods together Ambar, giving it a natural skin smell clean man and being responsible for the excellent longevity the fragrance boasts on its way to react when in contact with skin. I must say that I two baths after his application and he remained firm and strong, even without reapply it, it enchants me a lot! Yeah there a house that went to look with fresh eyes after having met her in fact and by right!

  29. :

ambery woody boozy, very nice I love it, however it doesn’t last long, and that is part of it; its intimate.

  30. :

    3 out of 5

Wonderful! This is a very complex one, for me it is really difficult to distinguish which notes I am getting,
it is like there are 50 notes mixed together in a brilliant way to bring this beauty. Unfortunately all I can get is woody leather diluted by sweet-citrus fruits, but for sure there are many other notes.
Projection not that good but longevity is.
This is real class, best to be used at night.

    Blind buy success
I can’t believe I just now found this. I’ve “seen” it before on here, but never bothered to look into it. We all know now blind buy s can go, I couldn’t resist as the price is so low, $23.00 shipped on Amazon prime. All the reviews are good, this never happens, there’s always some sort of bashing, especially on low price frags that are known for being synthetic smelling or cheap . Well, the best comment I’ve ran across that really sums this fragrance up the best, is “this is boss bottled all grown up”. Agreed. I do find the opening a little feminem. As a male fragrance collector I am not gender bias in terms of marketing, but there are of course so excited frags I will not buy or wear as they are strictly too feminem. I wouldn’t enjoy that. This has a feminem opening but it’s not too bad, it still has masculine and really a great scent. I liked boss bottled aka #6 as one of my hall of fame bottles. This takes that and adds a boozy vanille and Amber vibe to it, maybe a little more sweet too.
    Overall 8./10

  32. :

    5 out of 5

Amazing value fragrance. Very heavy on the vanilla and ambroxan but it’s still very lovely. At this price I’m going to enjoy it’s lush creamy leather while the scent dries down.

  33. :

    4 out of 5

    oooh this is absolute magic!
If ever a scent appealed to me it’s this one. Sweet, sticky, warm, balmy base which is never cloying even for a second. Then that delicate fruity accord of cola, yes it’s very similar to Dunhill Custom, I only wish I had discovered this sooner. It’s far more refined than the Dunhill and releases more subtle complex notes. I’d also say it’s woodier and all in all better smelling and the best thing about it….Baldesarinni Ambre lasts quite well.
This is a great hidden gem of a scent and cheap enough to not feel guilty about buying. I’m getting it.

As my friend said, it’s a Man of dreams in a bottle. It’s hard to stop sniffing my self, what would i do with a man smelling like this???
    Soft, little bit sweet. GOOD!

  35. :

    3 out of 5

This is a wearable boozy fragrance that manages to smell both boozy and sweet without going too far and without any of the annoying “Oudh” and chemical fume notes (“boisée-sec” accords) that feature in many of this kind of fragrance. I like it. I’m not head over heels for it. But I like it and it’s comfortabl to wear. Will probably replace when I run out.

  36. :

    5 out of 5

Yup, this is another one of those reviews, the kind where the wearer thinks the scent is anice but something about it just keeps you from loving it!
It may be the obvious apple note, I mean………c’mon, apple just does not seem like a sophisticated, sexy or serious note. Does that make any sense?
Seems like it has good longevity and the scent seems to extend outward but does not choke out those close to you.
Amber is strong with leather keeping itself in the background. Nice for cooler weather and night and day.

~ This scent is best worn watching the fall leaves change colors with a glass of whiskey spiked apple cider in hand from your front deck. While inside the aroma of sweet sugar cookies bake and the smokey cinders from a fireplace linger in the air you would have the image that Ambre evokes. Very masculine and warm she will want to nuzzle closely on those cool autumn days with Ambre’s gentlemanly sillage in the air and cozy amber on your neck.
    Kind Regards, Plat ~

This is a real winner. It smells classy, sophisticated, masculine, mature (refined not old). Younger guys (under 30), may not appreciate how nice this is. Longevity on my skin is excellent, over 8 hours. This is perfect for fall. I have not tried it in the winter yet, so I don’t know how it will perform when it gets cold outside. This is a more mature version of Boss Bottled No. 6. The sweetness is dialed down, and the whiskey, leather is amped up.

this is special and attractive fragrance
vanilla , red apple and leather combinations create sweet , heavy and hot fragrant
    it has linear scent
but after several hours , A bit of sweet and heavy scent will be reduced

“Wow!!! That’s badass!!!” 🙂 That’s the first impression I got when I spritzed it on. Whiskey, amber, apple almost tabacco-y kickass badasserie!!! 2 enthusiastic thumbs up on this one folks!!! One of my favorite night time scents! Though I sometimes wear it to work in the daytime…. still, compliments galore. Want to smell like a MAN??…. Buy this! It has become one of my very favorites. Very alluring and makes you feel good in a sexy sort of way.

The initial notes got me crazy and left me with great feelings about the way it smells . The middle notes are not that tempting , and then .. the base was fine enough to make me unleash the bucks$ .
The performance was unstable as it differs from one apply to another . Onething for sure is that Ambre does its best when applied to cotton shirt , while it doesn’t do well on my skin .
    I found similiarities to D&G the one , the smokiness ! ..

First I want to say I have never been a fan of amber, but I wanted to try a Baldessarini fragrance, and Ambré was the only one available on the website where I shop. Plus, it features an apple note, which I like. My first impression is it smells like some kind of cola. Not unpleasant, but definitely cola-scented. Apple-amber cola. If it weren’t for the apple and mandarin orange top notes, and possibly the violet middle note, it wouldn’t appeal to me at all. I can see why people like Ambré, but it really isn’t my type of fragrance. Strong amber scents give me a headache. The apple note is nice, but for me, Ambré is a headache in a bottle.

This scent makes me feel like a sophisticated bad-ass (I am actually a down-to-earth kind of a guy) and I love it! 9/10 – a shinning example that demonstrates that a high quality scent doesn’t have to cost an arm and a leg. One of the best from Baldessarini. Bravo.

Ive been on this fragrance kick for about a year now and this has been one of the best purchases Ive made.
An apple whiskey soaked cask. With many modern frags leaning feminine or unisex, this is very masculine. Skews more mature as I could see myself wearing this for yrs to come.
Longevity is ok, about avg. Sillage could be improved as many have noted it sits close to a skin scent. Definitely a frag I recommend for an “intense” treatment.

Ambré Baldessarini is simply GRATE , GRATE , GRATE ( masculine , classy , sophisticated , sweet ) , grate for winter night or day or out or office & safe beside the bottle design is perfect & beautiful as well .
P.S. the only downside is it should be 200 ml not 90 ml.

  50. :

    4 out of 5

Very arousing, very seductive, I love the smell. Although I feel the tobacco is a bit too strong, I wish they would replace the tobacco with something more woody like sandalwood. After 15 min the tobacco really start to appear and I just want to skip that note, I don’t want people to think I just smoked a cigar. Longevity is very weak, 2-3 hours max before you can barely scent it. Is there an EDP for this? I will keep one in my office desk and use it in the afternoon when I know I will be going somewhere that night. Besides, the bottle looks cool it is very classy and conservative looking.
Update. I think I’m giving this one off to my dad as a Christmas present. It suits his age and given that it’s not a very well known fragrance, that will make it a bonus.

  51. :

Wow, many great reviews here…obviously a great cologne. This is excellent, and has in my experience a unique silage in that as you move, it then drifts and the scent floats outwards from there…if you are still, it is close to the skin..Its a very powdered OAK that drifts, a soft smelling but strong wood, …oak, amber, violet, a dash of apple sweetness at the start.
Good insight biscoff and buysblind,….. I am so glad we can all contribute on this stuff..these opinions really help and save us all $$$ and is interesting.

It´s a really nice smooth manly amber/tobacco/whiskey scent which is well blended, but unfortunately one of the weakest performers on me, I get maybe 2-3 hours and a really dissopinting non existent projection, which is dissapointing for me because I love the smell, I had buy a sample of Diesel Only The Brave Tatto hoping that it´s smells like Ambré, I can see the tiny bit of it but OTBT is a lot sharper and to me it´s nothing like Ambré, they are maybe in the same category, so I keep searching for something similar, maybe Dunhill Custom it is but I heard it is a weak performer too, we will see, if Ambré has a better performance it would be a 9/10 fragrance but now it is a 7/10

    Who would not like Ambré?!!
It is such yummy sweet manly perfume!
It opens in fruity line, a bit “orangy” that soon bring apple notes upfront.
it evolves to spicy amber notes deep and rich..and you may notice leather in the background.
It’s so noticeable but not provoking..so yummy (I know someone who would just lick this scent! 😀 )
It has such a serious personality as well as passionate (lusting) notes. It suits both day and evening use.
It is luxurious and classy not provoking or intruding.
    Ranked high.

Ambre is so easy to wear and it smells nice every time. A fruity apple opening moves into a sweet, mildly spicy heart with tones of vanilla and amber. I never have to think when I put this on–I know the people around me will enjoy it and I won’t be choking out the room. Projection is good, but it’s not nuclear. It radiates as a soft glow for about half a meter and leaves a decent scent trail. There’ve been some complaints that it’s a little flat at times, and I’m not going to argue with that, but your audience will not perceive it that way as it leaves a very nice impression, and depending on your skin chemistry, it may not be flat at all. This one’s a great daily scent for the cooler months, dates, and quiet evenings out. It never gets loud, so it works well in intimate settings, and has a romantic quality due to the vanilla, leather, and subtle floral notes that linger around. Sold at a very reasonable price, I really don’t think you can go wrong with this one. A safe blind buy and recommended for anyone over 18.
    Thumbs up.
For comparison’s sake think “Boss Bottled #6” “Kenneth Cole Mankind,” and “Montblanc’s Legend.”

Out of all the Baldessarini collection’s, to me Ambré is tops in my books!! Both notes of Amber and apple combined gives it a realistic warm vib with sweet and a herbal aroma. With the added note of leather it gives it a deep tone with a bit of a boozy vib making it very sexy and very masculine. Both vanilla and woodsy notes gives this fragrance some snap being a warm sweet/spicy frag which is excellent during the fall/winter juice. Balancing this frag is voliet which definitely is an integral part of this complex aroma.
Longevity is EXCELLENT and Silage is moderate but very noticeable.
    Final thoughts,
After many years after this fragrance came out I finally made a blind purchase hoping that it would be at least nice? This fragrance isn’t just nice, it has a smooth creamy aroma. I thought that the apple note would give it a distinct soar aroma..I don’t smell it what’s so every!! I can also pick up a definite aroma of a smokey/woodsy scent. As a fall/winter scent it certainly has a luxurious aroma giving it two thumbs up. A five star fragrance ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Amber and apple. With some whiskey-ish feeling in it which makes it quite masculine and a very slight touch of smokiness.
Now 13 hours after I applied it on my skin it smells insanely great. For sure after 13 hours it does not project, but it is there as an aura – very sexy skin scent, just delicious.
    4/5 from me.

It is a really classy fragrance from those years, when realising a mainstream parfum wasn’t just about a meeting in the office. There was work behind it.
It’s nearly a fruity-gorumad scent. It has this top notes like a sniff from an X.O. Cognac bottle. After it’s settles down, but it still has this “spirit” vibe in it. Actually I’m quite happy whit it when it settles down quickly, it would be overpowering without it.
The bottle is heavy and thick, really nice coloured juice in it. It’s really like a cognac decanter.
It was a mature fragrance even when it was released at 2007. After all these years, when trends, and one-one ingredient ruled the years, it still has potential, and like an old cognac, it might gets better with age.

The scent it clean and very understated. It does not project very far; however, it does have a nice longevity. This was bought as a birthday present and I’ve been wearing it for about a week. I don’t get the sweetness at the start that others describe, more acidic and sharp. The dry down is very much amber with maybe a touch of whiskey but I frankly don’t get any tobacco. It’s a very good day-to-day cologne, but, it’s not one for “special” occasions. It is very adult yet modern. There’s a very faint whiff of powder but not enough to be off putting.

Don’t like it. If you want a nice amber fragrance for cheap, I’d rather buy yves rocher’s ambre noir. This just doesn’t appeal to me at all, I don’t like the mix of amber and apple.

Baldessarini Ambre is a wonderful amber and leather fragrance with a boozy, fruity apple and vanilla on top.On a somewhat related side note,Escada’s Magnetism is one of my all time favorites and I find the amber and leather with the boozy fruits in Ambre very similar in vibe to Magnetism. While not an identical replacement by any means, they share enough DNA although The Tolu balsam in Escada’s classic takes it to a different level while Ambre goes in a more sweeter vein with the fruity vanilla notes. I am probably being a little bit unfair as this deserves to be reviewed on it’s own merits as it really is very, very good. I dont have the complaints about poor projection and longevity as I get good projection for about 3 hours and about 5 – 7 hours longevity with about 4 sprays which is pretty good for a night out frag, which is what Ambre is primarily, for me.( Dont put on 2 sprays and expect this to last 8 hours, it is not that kind of perfume)The boozy notes would probably make it a little too flamboyant for the office and I can see where the spiced rum and coke comments are coming from as well and that makes Ambre just perfect for a night out or a party!! I had this on while I was out for dinner with family and friends and the opinions of all the women were unanimously complimentary and as always, that is a huge plus. I love this. 8.5/10

Too ambery for me and not original enough. It seems to Boss Bottled of the same maison…a pity!

Whisky, apples, woods, leather and violet. There is also something reminiscent of tobacco, not smoke but fresh tobacco.
If you don’t like violet you may want to steer clear of this fragrance.
    I love it.
    It smells classy.
    Downsides are longevity and silage.
If there was an EDP of this frag I would jump for it.
On the other hand you could keep a small decant in the car or add a few extra sprays, like 7 lol.

Imagine a smooth orange nectar, mixed with spices and decorated with a very ripe red apple slice and an orange flower. This is exactly how Ambré smells to me. It’s creamy, spicy and has a sour but sweet note in it. Very nice, but not really for everyone.
A great pick for fruit/spice lovers who normally wear CK One Shock (Ambré is fresher and less boozy), Boss Bottled (Bottled
