Ambra Iris is a full blown 60s-70s style old school parfum on the order of Tabu. As a matter of fact, they are quite similar. It reminds me of what might be a Roja Dove version of Tabu. Very dark, dry and earthy patchouli, loads of ambergris, iris and a heavy dose of myrrh. The iris doesn’t come out for a solid hour or two on my skin. Ambra Iris starts out like a roaring lion of near wickedness but settles down into the most beautiful powdery and rooty little gentle iris lamb. It’s just gorgeous.

People follow me around when I wear this perfume asking me what I’m wearing. Men like it as much as women. I find it a bold beautiful perfume which reminds me of the late sixties early seventies. Definitely a favourite in my perfume wardrobe

It is very strong and intensive in its patchouli opening – the patchouli hits you hard and it has a very masculine character. Strangely, the fragrance gradually becomes more and more feminine, turning into a classical and lovely oriental spicy composition, warm and long-lasting.
