I couldn’t agree more. And notice how there is nothing listed for “This perfume reminds me of . . . ”
Estee Lauder (or rather, Aerin Lauder) is now on my s**t list.
Forget about Amber Mystic. That’s just a rearranged version of Sensuous Noir.
And Tangier Vanille – forget that too. For the first few minutes the ghost of PCAYY is right there, but it quickly fades into a non-eventful vanilla.

Can we talk about how criminal it is that this beauty is discontinued? I have a small decant that I was lucky enough to obtain and I am in love. This is gorgeous and so beyond anything Estee Lauder still makes.
Sweet rich amber, and big armfuls of Ylang Ylang. Floral and sweet without being overwhelming in any way, with a rich incense note that makes this grown up and sophisticated. This is a power perfume, wear it with a suit and wade your way through corporate BS to be CEO or pair it with an evening gown and leave a trail of broken hearts in your wake. Gorgeous. I will be hording my decant and cursing EL for letting this beauty fade into history while keeping mediocre offerings going and going.

A stunning floral amber perfume that was sold for a limited time by Estee Lauder. This was a spicy Oriental fragrance. It’s an ylang ylang yellow floral that matches up with the golden amber. It’s also got a Bulgarian rose that is a bit powdery and sweet but it’s more of a dark exotic sultry floral scent. The cinnamon and incense give it an Oriental character. It’s smoky and spicy and elegant. It was very different from the Estee Lauders that sell today. I wish they had never discontinued it. This was a really amazing perfume. Yes it’s mature and complex but wearable and not too overwhelming. I received tons of compliments when I wore it. I have half a bottle left. Love this scent.

A stunningly beautiful creamy scent 🙂 The rich and pure Amber and the invigorating Ylang-ylang are the dominant notes (as the name suggests) but they are of such incredible quality and so well blended with the other notes that the overall result is a warm, calming yet inspiring, mysterious perfume. Alluring, exotic, sexy….I could go on 🙂
While thoroughly enjoying the delicious, sensuous blend, each individual note begins to weave its way out to gently caress and retreat again. The incense, when it greets you, is in no way reminiscent of the commercial incense sticks sold, but of an ancient temple cut into precipice of a Himalayan mountain top. The Vanilla is the smell direct from the pod. The Rose and Geranium are gentle wafts blown in the breeze. I find myself almost sitting on tenterhooks waiting for the each beautiful note to reveal itself again. This heart of the perfume continues for HOURS!
The dry down is Powdery and I find this is where the Cinnamon truly shines 🙂
Absolutely delightful perfume on its own and a versatile one for layering. For me, this is a cooler weather scent. During the warmer weather its a bit to warm and overpowering. The Sandalwood makes an entrance much earlier the duration of the heart dramatically shortens. Also the Cinnamon disappears completely 🙁

Edited: Forgot to mention…the juice itself is a purple/brown color. Very dark. NOT the golden color in the picture!!!
